Me three, same as OP. Even a single +30 or -10 skip while paused needs Play pressed twice to resume, 100% direct play mode.2 points

Hi Please, it would be great to be able to limit download speed (of offline playback) without affecting streaming speed. I found more than one topic talking on this feature from a long time ago but unfortunately not implemented yet ... so I post it here in " Feature Requests" section. It would be a very nice if you can add this feature as soon as possible as @FredMuppeteer said on other topic: Also in the same feature it needs to control/limit how many download the user can do on the same time. I hope the other users agree with me and make voting for the feature Many thanks --------- here some topic about these feature:1 point

I can see this has come up before from searching, but the posts I found were a year or two old. I've watched several TV episodes from downloads over the last few days. I've been connected to my server on the same wifi network for approx 7 hours now and the played status of what I watched hasn't updated. I'm using the Android app and the server is on Windows 11. Other downloads have happened eg something I set off when I was last connected that didn't have a chance to complete. How can I manually trigger a sync, or is this a known problem?1 point

Premiere will get you hardware assisted transcoding so the server can transcode faster if it supports it. This isn't converting video though, so not sure how much it would have helped here. As @SamES describes it the problem is on Samsung side. Even very fast servers can see the problem sometimes using the Samsung app. I have Premiere, but my server doesn't have a GPU for hardware assisted transcoding because I don't transcode. I don't even attempt converting. All my files have an alternate audio track I use. Even if I had a really fast server, I don't want any converting to happen after I click Play. I use my nVidia Shield if I want HD audio. Same goes with PGS subs. Always use SRT or ASS with the Samsung app. PGS subs will kill it if you don't have a fast server. It's a common issue though. As soon as I saw your title I figured you were trying to play an HD audio track.1 point

Sort of. The manual download file is compiled on a Samsung server and they automatically put a time bomb in the app so it disables itself 30 days after compiling. This is because Samsung wants you to release apps through them and the store. This is so Samsung can run their own tests and to also make a profit. The manual updates are for testing only according to them.1 point

Try selecting the AC3 track before clicking play. TranscodeReasons=AudioCodecNotSupported1 point

Currently there is not. Server will run on cache license for some time (few weeks at the most, read: max. 3 AFAIK) but will need to phone home to verify license occasionally. As for client apps, that's a mixed-bag, some won't even start without internet connection and some will also need to connect to the internet every so often.1 point

Could be, not sure artwork has changed in 7.x versions. Problem is, if I change posters to series or season posters, it would be globally. So everybody using posters for episodes would have no thumbnail images in the episodes posters Unfortunately, all skins works differently and changing it will break other peoples use case. I had a lot of discussions about artwork, imho no poster should be assigned to episodes and the skin should decide what's the fallback (what is actually not the case or incorrect for some skins). As mentioned if poster is blank, the parent artwork would be used. (I assume this was the case in previous versions). Even this fallback shouldn't be assigned by the plugin but necessary to satisfy the skins. Artwork is a very tricky matter, every time I alter something, someones use case is broken. There is no way to make everybody happy. Current assignments is the best compromise I found.1 point

Luke wants the other logs so that he can compare, and get more idea of what's changed to cause the problem. Paul1 point

Yes it was a new item in the library. The movie was labeled as movie - version 1. mkv and movie - version 2.mkv originaly in the Emby UI via web interface it was 2 separate items. I grouped the versions together. At this point both versions were appearing as separate items. Updating and and repair libraries did nothing, I had to rebuild the database. Previous multi version movies are behaving normally1 point

You should. For evil to win all it takes is good people to do nothing. If you do nothing eventually they will suspend your account the next time this happens. Strikes add up. Do something this time. Fight back against the strike. ^_~1 point

I'm in the Eastern Time Zone same as NY City. The safe range is 8am to 2am my time but can do other times as well if we schedule. One or two days a week I work through the night to help people in China, Australia, NZ, Western Europe, etc since it's such a time zone difference. It's takes me a good 50% longer helping people from Asian countries due to language settings on devices/PC and having to translate language/communications during chat. China is especially tricky as there is usually VPNs or "smart DNS" at play to work around the "great firewall" but always seems to cause other issues. So if you need me to be available or "on-call" just in case, send me a PM and we'll set it up.1 point

You guys had me interested right up until you mentioned "Lost". I sometimes felt "lost" trying to watch it. LOL1 point

Right, you'll want to run the scheduled task after you have installed that plugin. It will begin to import the themes for your collections. It will run on a schedule. I know, I wasn't exactly sure when I first used it either, but it is very useful. The configuration is for when you want to give back to the repo. If you have themes to upload and share.1 point

And nothing will happen until you run scheduled task manually or wait until it runs on schedule.1 point

Hi, are those changes applied to all devices or targeting specific ones?1 point

try this thread. for synced lyrics the best solution seems to be using foobar2000 plus one of the plugins (OpenLyrics worked well for me) for nonsynced lyrics then the Media Human Lyrics Finder tool seemed to work well for most people. but is that what you are referring to as hanging? and at what point? i'd possibly suggest its hanging on a bad file rather than the file count as here you can see my scan is at 202k and still counting1 point

If i try to play a file, but it does not play because of a playback error, emby immediatly marks it as watched...... this should not happen. i did not watch it. i feel this is unwanted behaviour, do you agree?1 point

@ebr This is really annoying. Any way you can help to encourage a fix for the next update?1 point

This is not related to thumbnails. Pause is not required to reproduce, but a long FF is if not using pause. This is just a straight-up regression.1 point

Yeah this sounds like a cool feature! I would like to use it for sure. As if grandmas would use the filter option! Probably it's in the too hard basket for these devs, like most things.. "That's possible for the future" LOL1 point

Mainly the lack of human resources. Not enough resources are allocated for the development of the application.1 point
