yes correct, the core needs to manage storage, how it is backed up, how you store the data and how you can migrate the data. This is all core functionality, trying to force this to a plugin is just asking for issues. This plugin is just an viewer/editor of chapter data.

This is no different if you edited other metadata for that Item as well - the data needs to be 'managed' in the Emby dB. If you opt to use NFO - then chapters are currently omitted - so I think as long as the Core Team make a decision to a) lock chapter data and b) hopefully save to NFO's as part of the normal NFO core integration - then I believe we are good. If you then 'moved' an item - then the NFO would re-import the data (incl chapters) as part of the emby identification phase. These things are not something which should be in any plugin - we have been down that road and learnt the lesson.. @Luke @ebr @Cheesegeezer @chef

I hit "play all" on a collection and it doesn't show the next film in "Next Up" after I quit out of it. This is apparently intended behaviour, and the same applies to playlists. This is absurd. Why even have the "play all" option? Who's sitting down to watch a full collection's worth of films, or a full playlist? I have playlists for The Prisoner for its various episode orders, and there's no way I'm getting through them in one sitting. I was going to make that my next show to watch but if I'm going to have to keep track manually of my progress through the playlist it makes the playlist fairly pointless TBH. There's no reason playlists or collections shouldn't show up in Next Up.

Hi guys. I was wondering if there could be an option to disable individual plugins as well as an option to disable ALL plugins and reboot the server in a "safe mode", much like the Firefox option to reboot disabling addons. I think this could help trouble shoot and help diagnose. Just a thought. Thank you guys!

Could we get an Overview (Circled "i") icon on Playlist items, same as on episodes in Season view, when used for video items?

I have windows emby server 4.7.5.0. I have changed library settings for my tv shows and i have manually ran the task to identify intros for skipping. I am using the webclient and i have the setting set to see the skip button, but it doesnt appear. I have refreshed the entire library metadata and an individual show metadata, but i still cant get it to appear. Any suggestions?

There is as it is in a library then filter. As I don't see select all/bulk editing anytime soon.

Hey, I’ve just updated to this version to test it out, seems to work great, however I have noticed that episode thumbnails don’t seem to be showing now, just the same landscape poster for every episode. I’ve not changed any other setting in Kodi. Is there a change to this version which effects that somehow?

Nope, same exact file reference. Check the date/time you'll see they are added at the same "moment"... so not a ghost file either. It does not show Versions. However, when I play the one with bad season/episode info I get this error (in emby) "No compatible streams are currently available. Please try again later or contact your system administrator for details." The other plays fine (in emby)

Thanks for this solution TM Support gave me a solution to find the Emby folder, I deleted the options.xml when I got to the library The was then an option to Delete the library folder.

For users that aren't using OTA EPG the only benefit to using the 4.7 addon and not the m3u interface is it has the capability of using authenticated streaming so NextPVR would be more secure. Martin

Ive been tidying up my tv metadata and realised that most shows do not have season posters which are consistent with each other. It would be useful if for a selected show: Display internet provider images for each season line by line, horizontal scroll to see all images for the season vertical scroll to see all seasons toggle to display other languages or not (default) so that the operator can quickly see and select (and download) what the best consistent season posters are for a show. It is quite common for a series of poster styles to not be complete across all seasons and dipping in an out of each season it hard to see at a glance what poster styles are complete and which one is favourite (Eg no tag lines, no media boxet icons, best style). Take a look at house of cards...how long it takes to determine a consistent / good season poster set. bad better best thanks for considering..perhaps more suited to a plugin

Oddly enough, the common thing amongst the problem files was that they were all initially rendered with EAC3 audio with bitstreams at 768 kbps. I made conversion of DTS audio streams to EAC3 when I saw my Emby clients on my tv's were always being transcoded - not direct playing DTS audio. I chose 768 kbps as a compromise to half the DTS typical bitrate to save file size. My friend and I discussed this quite a bit and later settled on EAC3 at 640 kbps bit rate. NONE of the anamorphic upscaled files with 640 kbps EAC3 audio exhibit this loss of proper aspect when played on my 4K Firesticks, and they direct play the video & audio streams. I looked at some I down rendered from anamorphic to 1920x800 range, and all of them when re-rendered passed through the EAC3 settings and are sitting at 768 kbps. All of them when played are transcoding the audio streams, with the reason for it given as "bit rate too high" in stats for nerds. I did a test of re-rendering the 2 current problem files with anamorphic upscaling but set the audio to EAC3 640 kbps, and they play without issue in the proper aspect, and direct play for both video & audio. AGAIN the weird part is these used to play fine, and I did a search through my files and came up with 9 other files in this state, but none of them are displaying improperly. I am in the process of re-rendering these with EAC3 640 kbps audio streams. I do not know how or why an audio stream parameter would mess with the video aspect presentation, nor how or why on some files but not others.... I still think this was new behavior with the Emby app version 2.0.77a... I have noticed a few posts of users with issues with EAC3 audio streams other than this, so don't know if it's a related issue.

The movies library only has movies in it. The Suggestions tab in the movies library has the same issue. I also have a TV library set up with the exact same problem.

No all good, thanks for your help and the positive feedback. Please keep an eye out for firmware updates for the TV and let us know whenever you receive one. We can give you another version of the app to test to see if we can reverse this fix and go back to the original audio switching.

yes that is all this plugin is intended for. I think this is the only valid option. The data is stored in the Emby server library db, there is no need to keep extra copies or data sources for this.

Hello everyone In version 1.3.0 it is already possible to switch audio tracks ( thank you very much ) but what I noticed in the initial tests is that the video track never goes through Direct Play and in the logs there is a message "Switching audio tracks is not supported" Could someone please advise me what to do ? Thanks EDIT: In further testing I found movies where I still can't switch the sound track, but there again everything goes nicely through Direct play

Yes let it run. If you like change the schedule for the job in scheduled tasks. You could for example have it run at 1am as a nightly process and only run for 6 hours. That way it would run only at night getting all your files processed but not be doing it when you're likely using the system. Just adjust it so it's runs when convenient. You could even have it restart processing at 10am to 5pm if no one is using it while you're at work.

There was a little oddness on one endpoint device, Windows 11, which had installed the 'bad' update and then the most recent. On the initial run, the new version nuked the existing download cache, and some menus might have been absent. On a second run, the downloads were still gone but all functionality seems intact and it's rebuilding the download cache as I write this, but I had to go back and tell it what to DL again. It completely forgot. I would call it probably fixed, but you likely know that already.

I tried to resolve this myself using the support page for the plugin but the interface has changed drastically. I actually like the old version, it is a lot more clearly laid out. But I love the plugin and I think it's great. Thank you again for your help! I really appreciate it.

@quickmic The 7.6.0 release lost total ISO playback. Error could not playback item from within Kodi. Playback failed One or more items failed to play. Check the log for more information about this message.

Historically I've been Win32 native code, mostly C/C++ but recently I'm working native code for Linux, targeting mostly AWS instances. They keep me in the basement, working mostly services, some kernel, and other stuff that usually has no GUI. In the past I worked on McAfee security products, drivers and services, Symantec, Panda AV, and for some smaller outfits no one has heard of. I'm now doing work on VPN software. But in my spare time I like to watch movies just like the rest of the humans

hey could some of the work thats been put into introskip/credits, mainly the credits part be used to find the right part to call a new scene ( Movies Credit Scene) and get the right timing for each movie/series credits (Movies Credit Length). i know it doesnt work 100% right now because blackdetect cant work in all cases. but what if we combine it with scene change (sc_detect) blackdetect + scene change. plus the text recognition proof of concept could work great aswell along will blackdetect + scene change . what do you think just thinking out loud here?

Thanks for the heads up. I wanted to report back with the results of my testing. Turns out the OpenLyrics plugin in foobar2000 didn't work all that well for me, but the Lyric Show Panel 3 plugin did when used in conjunction with an extra plugin that allows it to search extra sources. I'm considering to create an h265 version of my movies for remote streaming that allows a decent quality with a low bitrate, However there is a potential problem if the client can't direct play the video stream and the server transcode from a h265 version, that could potentially overload my server with multiple streams. My request is to have an option to disable transcoding for h265 codec, so if the client can't direct play the stream the server switch to transcode the h264 file. I know that Emby choose the better version to play but if the user manually selected the h265 version the server will transcode that version.
