  1. It seems likely, then, that your file naming is not in line with the conventions which Emby recognises. Proper organisation and naming of files (in Emby's sense) is what guarantees a high level of success in recognition. https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159110-tv-naming Paul

  2. This plugin has been used by a couple people but should be considered beta. You can get more information on the plugin and it's companion utility, the source for each, and the executables at this Github page.

  3. Hi With the recent changes, the UI for "Appears on" needs an update. I now have alot of artists that the "Appears On" list contains, 20-100+ albums. Albums now appear in the list that the UI doesn't show what the relationship to the artist is. For example. This is the first album in my John Lennon "appears on list. The UI provides no information as to why "John Lennon" appears on this album. He is not a member of Cheap Trick, he did not play on the album. (recorded after his untimely death). A casual user may just think this is a bug. Now as I understand the new "feature" John Lennon has a composer credit, on one of the above songs. But based on the UI that is just a guess., which one? I would suggest adding to the display Composed by John Lennon to the appropriate tracks. The navigation is cumbersome at best., need a See All, Lennon "appears" on 80+ albums. I have others of 100+ . (8 plus clicks on the More arrow) Addition of a see all option is needed. The default display would be best to sorted by Artist. That would at least group the display logically. The new table display is not the solution. -Thanks -vicpa

  4. Since Emby has no Media Info it does not know how to play the media. This will happen until ffprobe is able to read this media. Dev will have to comment as to me it can see info.

  5. UNC network mappings are fine - as long as the .edl file is in the same filename as the media file - then comskipper works great @BillOatman May I suggest in the logging for comskipper - you put the actual 'edl detected' and 'the skip action' in the 'Normal' log as opposed to the Debug log ? This caught me out a few times as normally I don't have debug logging turned on. Thanks !

  7. I started with Plex way back when Emby was MediaBrowser. I really liked Plex at that time and bought a lifetime Plex Pass. In not too long a time, maybe two years or so, Plex began moving towards the trash they have become so I tried Emby. I did not initially like Emby so I went back to Plex. I began even more to dislike Plex and the crap the were shoving down my throat. I then installed Emby again, this time on the same machine as Plex and even bought their lifetime subscription. I ran the two side by side for quite a while gradually moving to Emby as my full time media manager. During the time I had two servers on the same Windows machine I really had no problems. About a year ago I decided that Plex was more than a little redundant for me so I moved it to a second computer and only ran it for safety. Earlier this year I completely removed all traces of Plex from my life and I have been running Emby alone for my use. BTW: I did continue to monitor the Plex boards and occasionally even posted there. But I have since been banned from their boards because I mentioned Emby too often. Plex is quite thin skinned. I consider that a badge of accomplishment. I have never looked back. Emby is vastly superior to Plex for my use (mainly local media) and I do not miss Plex at all. As a disclaimer I must say that I do not watch or use anime so I cannot really make much of a comment about Emby's handling of it but, from the posts I have read, I think both Plex and Emby have about equal problems with it. The problems are mainly matching issues for both but those seem to get cleaned up by about as soon as they get reported. Plex has seemed to become a bit slower in fixing their anime problems. The real trick with Emby, as it is with Plex, is naming. I STRONGLY suggest that you name and structure your files and directories exactly as Emby wants. Emby does support many naming conventions but it is almost always better to use the simplest naming that Emby supports. I think you will find Emby superior to Plex but they are different and the differences can be daunting for many people.

  8. I know this has been talked about before but recently I have noticed it being much more frequent. Episodes repeating themselves in less than 24 hours. As my wife sits here this morning watching the Food Network channel I’ve set up she is viewing an episode that was shown less than 24 hours before. I also notice it with my Family Guy channel. Seem pretty consistant and almost always repeats within a 24 hour time frame. Is there any way to get things more randomized? I have plenty of any given show to pull from yet it consistently does this and also only seems to pull from a small subset of episodes.

  9. @Wheemer I have emby watching my recordings folder and was wondering how to get this to work for all playback locations, not just emby recordings? It should work with any recording that has a EDL file. But it may need to be on a local drive, not sure, never tried a networked drive. Also my edl files are done with edl_skip_field=3 for kodi compatibility, will they work with this plugin? Anything but 1 should work.

  11. Hi How long will it take to fix the CZECH subtitles? I would like to buy premium, but your product in this state is unusable for Czech users.

  12. I reckon @mickle026 is doing something very similar - if not exactly the same - with his Custom Provider plugin (though his plugin is much more ambitious in scope), you might approach him and possibly combine your resources. Over time, some more users might join, I could see it potentally develop as an alternative to standard scrapers.

  13. Although there is a wiki page detailing Emby integration with Google Home, from comments online it appears that hasn't been working for a long time. Emby itself is a solid system, but it's a shame that Google Home isn't in a working state. More and more of us are building connected homes, and it would be great to include Emby in all of this - as so much of our media consumption is driven through Emby. Without this integration, it becomes less relevant as time goes on. Can the developer team respond back and explain what we can expect regarding Google Home support in the near future?

  15. I set Titel and Albumartist in Kodi to off and rescanned the database mit Emby next gen 7.5.2 and now only the Album artist is shown. In privious attempts with 7.0.7 and others this has no effect at all. But now it seems to work fine. I´ve tried the Log files, hope I did it right in my first attempt. I´ve first logged the last settings with addon mode, did a factory reset and go with the nativ mode and at least back to addon mode. There several crashes in the log because Libreelec crashes sometimes with aeon nox silvo skin when Kodi caches the new pictures from series, artist and albums etc. I think thats a skin or raspberry issue. When Libreelec has all cached the crashes dissaper. When you see something else, let me know please. log-2022-07-09-21.15.32.zip log-2022-07-09-21.36.22.zip log-2022-07-09-22.07.19.zip

  16. Great, the verbose logging is complete just testing on my server, and it makes totally sense around played criteria failure, as the legacy code just uses the current user logged in. For user sensitive metadata, I’m thinking of adding a drop down on the criteria field where one can select the user to apply the filter with. Next on the list. Once that is done and I’ve done my internal tests I’ll put out a release. Thanks again for getting to the bottom of this dudes.

  17. Thanks. I noticed that you're on Arch Linux. This should resolve the issue for you:

  18. On Arch Linux, Emby is using a basic ffmpeg by default. Now we have started publishing an Arch Linux package which allows easy installation of the same ffmpeg that is included in most of our other server installation packages and which is optimized for tone mapping, hardware acceleration and a number of other things in combination with Emby Server. Installation Download first to avoid signature issues, then install via pacman: wget https://mediabrowser.github.io/embytools/emby-ffmpeg-bin-2023_06_25-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst sudo pacman -U emby-ffmpeg-bin-2023_06_25-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst Please restart Emby server after installation: systemctl restart emby-server.service

  21. I checked the css topic but nothing is like I'm looking for, I'll give an example in images to understand. In the image I attached, the background image would like a trailer to be passing by, if not, the image remains. this is the emby splash screen, this screen has to be in random or a movie chosen by the administrator. at the bottom where there are the most popular movies, I would like the most watched movies in the last month to appear, at the top where the emby logo is, the my media menu.

  22. yesterday I was doing the css code and I came across an obstacle, the css code that is placed on the initial screen of the emby administration only applies when emby is opened on the web, I will check now on the theme that also applies on android. But in the meantime I would like to know if more people have the same focus as me to get an improved appearance, a little similar to net flix but with the advantages of emby which in my opinion is a great server.

  23. if there are more people like me, I can try to start with a theme here and I ask for everyone's help so that we can go without deviating from our focus to make Emby much more attractive and be the first choice of many. I await your comments to know if it is worth in this group to proceed.
