Sorry, I'm generally a noob with emby, I've used it off and on for the last couple of years, but just decided to make the complete switch from Plex, so forgive me if I'm using the wrong terminology. Just wondering if anyone is working on a project to get images from theposterdb. They have a lot of Collection artwork that can't be found anywhere else, and lots of themed artwork within those collections. Would be nice to have an agent that handles the downloading of those. For some reason, I don't seem to get all of the poster artwork from Emby that Plex seems to get, for instance, my Garden of Sinners posters all looked similar in Plex, but there's 2 of them that aren't getting the poster images that Plex seemed to be able to find. So having a single source repository for Poster art would be awesome. I am also having the same issue with my Hana to Hebi Live Action movies, both the ones from the late 70's and early 80's as well as the ones from the Early 2000's. The posters just aren't showing up despite them being matched appropriately.

Refresh all items does exactly what it says on the tin If you selected it, then it removes all the items from the list and refreshes them - if you stop it part of the way through, then it's going to continue the task until it completes, THEN unset the task. You need to re-run it to rebuild the processed list - it shouldn't take that long and will just overwrite the existing values with the same or changed values.

Could we get an Overview (Circled "i") icon on Playlist items, same as on episodes in Season view, when used for video items?

When looking at a playlist in the web client, I would like a way to get to the itemdetails screen for entries on the playlist. Clicking on an item in the playlist starts it playing, which is different from most screens in Emby, and there doesn't seem to be an alternative way to get there (e.g. in the entry's three-dot menu). Can a feature be added to address this, please? Thanks!

The metadata for a TV series is great, it filled out details and episode description, however I want to scroll through all the episodes regardless of season. ie, without clicking on a specific season and then scrolling through. Is there a way to do this?

I would suggest one of the biggest differences to GPU transcoding performance is actually the local temp storage - so ensure whatever you get has a decent sized NVME SSD drive - 512Gbyte should be sufficient as I assume your media is on a NAS.

Hi, Unless I am missing something the only place to see the metadata flag for TV series "Status" (ended or continuing) is in the library view by looking at the year. Whilst this is conveinient when choosing a new series to watch it is hard to remember the status of a series weeks down the line as you cannot see the status without navigating back to the library view. It would be nice to be able to see this at the episode or season level and not just at the series level. It may make sense to actually use the words ended or continuing instead of the implied way it is done in the library view which I can see is done to save screen space.

GPU memory usage for a single high quality file is more than 1.2Gb. The same file for Plex "costs" only around 600Mb. That means, with a GPU with 2Gb of memory, I can have 3 transcoding streams at the same time on Plex, and only one on Emby. The second stream will start with CPU transcoding. The cause is that Emby does not set any FFmpeg decoding thread count (=auto). After setting the thread count to 1 using Diagnostics/Replace... ... the memory usage is now totally normal and on par with Plex, without any noticeable performance loss. This seems like a very easy fix to be done, it would very much improve the hardware transcoding feature, and comes at no performance cost or any downside whatsoever that I can see. Please consider fixing this soon. Also, please note all these tests are done using the same source file. This is a summary of the issue I opened here. Thanks

I believe I may have found the culprit on the duplicates. I believe this might fix the first two points I listed but I am not confident it will fix the saving issue. Will report back when I know more.

Many (most?) series have sequential numbering available in TVDB; if so, then number them consecutively and select Absolute Numbering in the metadata. Mind you, they'd still be in a season folder, but only one. Paul

Episodes tab sorted by series you can see everything. But yes a Collection or Playlist per Show would give a flattened view.

Thanks for the sugestion it certainly has made it easier to see the status now but it would be nice to see something at episode level as wel but I expect that needs to be changed in the core.

Maybe unrelated and a different problem, but the next time it stops responding check your available space on the drive where things are cached. Sounds similar to my issue of having transcode-temp filling up. If I restart, everything runs fine as the server will empty the folder on a restart.

I think it would be cool to have a guest user mode. What I am thinking this means is user that does not keep watch statuses OR that the watch statuses (and other such data) could have a set reset time, either at a specific frequency or set specifically by the admin. I think this could be great for people hosting out of town guests that may want to watch some movies or even something like an Air BnB setup.

The thing is, for me it is not picking up where I stopped it, it starts from the beginning again and according to the logs it seems to be reprocessing the same files from before. I will try to prepare a log for you to analyze. Edit: Sent it to you and Cheese via PM.

Bit more on this - seems the XML guide update is stuffed, the 10HS programmes were ALSO added to 10 BOLD, and as the recording said 'Any Channel', it picked the wrong one. So not really emby's fault. I will go and hard code the actual channels in all the recordings.

Correct, for testing purpose I did that and switched back again as I don't know what side effects it could have on Emby itself. I'm afraid, I was expecting this answer. So, yes then maybe Luke can maybe elaborate a bit. In the meantime I'll check the latest server beta to see if the library changed there - maybe it has already been updated.

brother, luke, you're understaffed but still manage to make a better app than alternatives, but i have to say this bro... majority vote is not always what's best you didnt build a great app by asking people to vote on what you should do. you chose what was best with that said, subtitle options are standard everywhere, whether or not the members of this fine community have took the time to ask for it. i myself have plenty features on apps i dont *vote for* but wish were implemented, and i'm not the only one who just sits and hopes they just appear one day

TV mode doesn't use the See All buttons because you would not be able to easily reach it with a remote control. But the way it's currently done can certainly be improved.

Je suis presque sûr qu'il s'agit d'un problème de redirection de ports. Ta freebox est en mode bridge avec un routeur derrière ? Quand tu demandes à lire un flux, Emby signale à ta freebox qu'elle doit lui parler sur un port UDP aléatoire (entre 5000 et 65000) et il faut que le flux atterrisse bien sur ton serveur Emby. Pour l'instant on ne peut pas choisir le port en question dans Emby mais @Luke m'a dit qu'ils allaient y travailler. Donc pour l'instant pour que ça fonctionne chez moi, j'ai du : - dans mon routeur, rediriger les ports UDP 5000-65000 vers mon serveur Emby - autoriser dans mon firewall les ports UDP 5000-65000 provenant de l'adresse 212.27.38.253 (mafreebox.free.fr) en direction du serveur Emby
