Ok peeps so as you are aware MKV Convert is removed. I am posting up MediaInfo version 0.0.5.0. Quite a few non-obvious bug fixes Real Time Monitoring implementation New Tabbed view removal of MKV Converter (not that it ever made the released plugin here) RTM will wait 3mins before doing anything once Emby detects the new item.... This is to give emby the chance to do its thing first. ---- Can you check this in the debug logs. new tabbed view Darn.... just noticed the Plugin title and also the SETUP Info Button missing.... grrrrrrr4 points

I'd like to see a pop up selection on clients that prompts the watcher to select a version if they are playing a multi-version movie. To be clear I am speaking of scenarios where the may be a theatrical cut and extended cuts of the movie, NOT quality versions (1080p vs 4k). I know that it can be changed in a menu on clients, but watchers may not always realize several versions exist. It can be quite a shock to think you are watching lord of the rings, only to find out its playing the extended cut and thus twice as long.2 points

A few years ago I found Emby, and I began encoding my thousands of DVDs and Blue-Ray into a personal family library that we could all share, wherever we were in the world, whenever we wanted. I started with a few quirks and questions, but eventually I got it setup smoothly on a headless linux server, with a domain name of its own, for easy access, and a premium license. Today, I finished encoding the last disc in my library. ~12TB of movies and shows. I've received high praise from my inlaws because how safe they know the ratings and categories I've set up are for their kids. It has been a marvellous success, and worth the time and money to do. What with all the 'corporate' services now pushing to groom and abuse children. Thank you Emby Team. You have my thanks for making such a wonderful piece of software. Keep up the good work. Don't go the political route. Stay concerned with the user and experience.2 points

well you could both also just use vlc and shout very loudly so the other person knows when to press play if we're reducing things to the lowest common denominator...2 points

Cheers mate, I'm also using it on a old Samsung tab A 10.1 at the mo and it works great. Still got to get around to stripping a old LCD monitor and putting it into a frame. I've used a old LCD with a pi but I want it to look better and have it wall mounted. Just got to find the time. Winter here at the mo so one wet cold weekend will do. Love the recently added when nothing is playing..2 points

Can't comment on why your country appears to be blocked, but you can always download the APK from here if needed: https://emby.media/emby-for-android.html2 points

Hey All, sorry for the long radio silence, yea seems like the latest version doesn't play to nicely with the smart plug. I'll work on it this week, expect a release soon. (Have nearly finished the other items as well). Till then....2 points

My request is to be able to chose to add items to the home screen. Specifically in my case, I am thinking of playlists and collections. Here's some reasons I'd like to see this: The home screen is the first piece of the user interface a person will see when they pull up Emby. I often places movies in bulk into my media library. This sometimes means people never see the new movie I've made available. Happens a lot, actually. While all movies are searchable or can be found by sorting, I believe the interface would benefit from having the customization option. I have created a "Justin Recommends" collection and would LOVE to be able to put that on the home screen. By keeping this optional, no one is forced to use it. If you don't have a use-case, then it's just a feature. If you look at things like Netflix, many movies and shows get "featured" and by doing that, a lot of people end up watching that wouldn't otherwise (imagine if The Tiger King was just another buried documentary you had to hunt for, no one would have heard of it). I appreciate your time. If you've considered this before and decided against for reasons other than difficulty implementing the feature, I'd ask you to reconsider. I believe that being able to customize our servers helps us personalize and tailor them to our audience and our needs, and that helps promote a feeling of ownership. I also truly believe that this small change could lead to some powerful results. In my case, I know that it would be of huge benefit to accomplishing what I would like to do with my Emby server. Thank you.1 point

I like to sort my music by (custom) genre, but I greatly prefer music apps that organize music by Genre > Artist > Album instead of Genre > Album. It makes album selection easier to browse if each album is nested under its own artist, but I don't want Film Soundtracks on the same screen as Jars of Clay or Led Zeppelin; and if I want to browse just Christian music, Skillet and Plumb would only list one artist entry each, on a page of 50 items, instead of 5 or 6 albums each on a page of 110+.1 point

Could you please add a Webhook for the New content added notification?1 point

Hi For the moment I want Emby to skip (exclude ?) composer/writer etc tags when scanning music tracks. Maybe something on the library settings screen. A checkbox Include Composers My objective is not to create any new composer credits. Why you may ask? Short answer is major negative impact of including (treating?) them the same as an Artist. Long answer will be in a seperate FR. Thanks, -vicpa1 point

Can you please add comment metadata to music? Since I am alternating between different apps, I thought that I would rely on comment metadata and smart playlists filters to preserve my playlists rather than be stuck with playlists in any particular app.1 point

I'd like to request a feature, while browsing the emby server via a browser I'd like to be able to select multi via "ctrl" or "shift," or select all on the videos. The purpose behind this is if I want to mass delete, or mark videos as played/unplayed, etc.1 point

Yup cors is a huge issue with cross IP’s. It’s a huge safety and security feature introduced in the last couple of years to prevent infiltration. But emby handles this well with their CORS policy as long as it has valid ip, port, device name, client, version and something else(can’t remember in the request, it should be fine. are you on https? As i don’t think at the moment poster app caters for this so this may throw your issue. can you do a ctrl shift i and screen shot console tab errors and also network tab stack.1 point

@Cheesegeezer I need to apologize. I wasn't aware that this was "your" plugin topic. I never considered or looked for that, because I had never subscribed to this topic (and I don't read "everything"). Actually I was under the assumption that we would still be talking in the topic where we had discussed MediaInfo options originally (https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/72953-add-dv-atmos-dtsx-hdr10plus-hlg-to-mediainfo-and-track-name/page/5/). From all Emby staff, probably nobody dislikes unrelated conversations more than I do, and not even the posts I made regarding ffprobe dovi output belong into this topic. I have split out all unrelated posts into a separate topic now: This topic should really be about your plugin - only! Sorry for the confusion. softworkz1 point

I know you couched this in the form of a question, but your tag indicates your hear to support end-users. You should focus your efforts on asking the clarifying sort of questions, and maybe dial back the snark. You'll just end up covered in snark otherwise (as seen in other replies)1 point

Luke, Thanks for the follow up! Been out of town for a few weeks and will return soon. I just verified that I am on 4.7.2 and will test when I get home and report. Thanks again!1 point

As it seems that some of my points still haven't been understood well enough: I am not "panicking" Again: what I stated were general concerns and not meant to discredit @Cheesegeezer's great plugin contributions in any way! Conversion plugins are totally fine and I don't mind any such plugins to be added to the catalog Just make sure that You don't create the impression that such conversions are safe or guaranteed to be lossless If possible, please don't offer an option to automatically delete the original files1 point

Or you know... you could also travel x km to that person and watch together. I'd say we should go one step further and shut down emby altogether. I mean you can just buy a Blu-ray player. That should also work pretty well.1 point

I guess the question is how much redundancy do we need. But yes, totally agree on improving documentation.1 point

One of the bugs which is now trapped is the inclusion of STRM (stream/link) files types - that carry no video information, thus the plugin was stalling when it hit one. Nice work from Dave as always to track that one down1 point

That thread seems to be talking distinctly about various resolutions. The feature request here, while technically very similar is really about presenting options to the user when there are multiple cuts of a film. So ‘selecting the best version’ wouldn’t really apply. The current way of changing cuts is cumbersome, and if a user is not aware of the other options may miss them entirely. The same with keeping multiple cuts in extras. Basic end users may not think to look there. This issue becomes even larger when a user isn’t even aware multiple cuts are available. I have plenty of movies that even I didn’t realize I have various cuts of on the server emby4kodi does what I am looking for. I am just asking that something similar be added to other official Emby clients. I under this is not a small request.1 point

Je mehr ich darüber nachdenke, desto besser finde ich die jetzige Umsetzung. Man erkennt sofort, welche Episode fehlt. Das andere Vorschaubild ist auffälliger, als der Text "Missing". Lasst es so. Gruß Eddie1 point

So I've found several closed threads about this FR, and would just like to bring it up again. Mainly from what threads I could find, the answer was "We don't have that functionality" (to identify missing movies). But since collections have been baked into Emby and are not an additional plugin anymore.... can we revisit this thought? Two things I'd like to see. Functionality like we currently have for episodes missing from TV series when viewing a collection. And a filter for showing just collections with missing movies. Is this on the radar?1 point
-
Then I guess my request is to have it present every version? (Maybe have a setting to enable/ disable the feature if that's an issue for some people?) Perhaps multiversion was not originally designed for cuts, but have been multiple topics concerning it, so I think it might be time to acknowledge that is how the community is using them. Its also quite disorienting to see documentation for multi version refer to to various cuts of a movie, only to come to the forums and hear that's not what its designed for.1 point
-
But how do you fix it as there is no such distinction. But I guess you would have to manually apply some distinction as no online provider will have one. Or is the request for a system that does not exist as Cuts are not the same as Resolution and Emby has no way to tell the difference technically. But in the end they will always be the exact same item, correct?1 point

Ok, I've pushed up a BETA 2.1.2.0 to try re-populating the Item for the new date related rules like I do for Item extras and tags. Unfortunately, I won't be able to test this myself for awhile beyond the basics of a temporary dev environment I've set up. So, @horstepipe and anyone else who's experiencing this issue, please try out this beta version and let me know if it: 1) Solves the issue for you for the Date Added and Date Released rules. 2) If so, are there any other rule types you're still seeing the issue with? Thanks1 point

Pi's are great as clients, i use https://libreelec.tv/ and have a few spare mem card around to experiment with new versions etc, swapping mem cards and being able to just pop the old one back in when i want a stable system again is awesome.1 point

There we go. It's been reposted to the OP. If I need to fix anything lemme know. I can't remember if it was absolutely complete. I know I wanted to add some stuff. Maybe this is a good time to do it if people are going to use the thing. LOL!1 point

New version available 7.1.0 delta changelog: fix End Intro add jump to intro end support comment: this version requires a mandatory database reset. I still haven't found the bookmark label position issue. -> pending The skip intro function needs to be enabled in plugin config menu -> playback -> skip intro Skip intro function is NOT supported in native mode.1 point

Those apps set the terms and then you live by it. We have a system that allows everything to be customized, and so we have to display that information. It is fairly common for users to have different images for each episode in the audio book.1 point

The OP mentioned having the collection show up as a library, but I'd like to be able to pin a collection to the home page as a hub. Similar to how the "Latest Movies" and "Latest TV show" hubs work.1 point

If you add the following snippet to be bottom of the CSS code it should give you what you want .mainDrawer.drawer-docked { width: 15em!important; } @media (min-width: 80em){ .skinBody-withFullDrawer .withTabs.page, .skinBody-withFullDrawer .page { padding-left: 18rem!important; } } @media (min-width: 50em){ .skinHeader-withfulldrawer { padding-left: 18em!important; } }1 point

Hi. Please do read the previous discussions in this thread, though, because I feel the precision necessary to only mute single words will be very difficult to achieve during playback - especially if using a bitstreamed audio format. Thanks.1 point

After trying a lot of things, testing hardware acceleration and so on, I wondered, what will happen, if I remove all the installed graphic libraries installed within /opt/emby-theater/extra/ and moved the folder lib. I started emby-theater without any error, and ... now every content is playing: video, music, Live-TV ... all three linux devices ...1 point
