  1. Also the config xml has moved, but i have put in “clinically proven iCheese Technology” to migrate old settings to new settings so you shouldn’t FEL (haha) a thing. Check log after reboot to ensure you see the “we found it” statement.

  3. Hi. I have been following the development of the intro skip plugin, as well as the communication from the devs. This has led me to believe that the intro skip functionality has arrived in a somewhat limited fashion to the Emby Core, thus somewhat eliminating the need for the plugin. However.. As I understand it, the plugin lets you edit the markers for where exactly the skipping occurs, and also has end-credit skipping which is also desirable. The caveat is that I read somewhere that the plugin and the core version does not use the same data, and are thus incompatible with each other. I really like to keep servers like this to a minimum, with as much functionality as possible, as experience tells us that too many plugins might introduce incompatibility when Core is updated or conflict between plugins etc. My question is: When will the Core intro skip be properly implemented (I.e when most of the clients are able to use it, and scanning takes a reasonable amount of time / resources).? I noticed that the TV Library has the added option to "Generate intro video markers" either as a Scheduled Task and when media is added, but enabling this gave me no new scheduled task, and even though it seemed to have started some chromaprint scanning (as evident in Htop) It stopped way too soon, just scanning a handful of episodes in some series. Is it a "hidden" scheduled task, or is it just not fully implemented yet? I am using the latest Debian version of the server 7.7.2.0 stable. Any input appreciated. Klaus (dexus)

  6. FYI TVDB appear to be up and running again as my logs are no longer throwing error. Only potential issues will be does TMDB data correspond correctly with your media the same as TVDB would have.

  7. +1 I'm in the same situation as sirmadman TV Mosaic plugin does not work with my DVBLink TV Server (even changing the ports). So if u can port the DVBLink plugin it will be appreciated.

  8. If your files are named exactly like that, they're not named properly (you've got one extra dot, so it's treated like multi-movie folder), they need to be named exactly as movie folder is. https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159102-movie-naming Rename, rescan.

  9. Similar to this old post, I'm suggesting a tab that would be titled Watchlist and could be placed in between Suggestions and Favorites. The functionality would pretty much be a copy of Favorites, just with a + symbol added next to the heart and other symbols that let you favorite a movie etc. The previous post had mentioned extra functionality such as automatically removing a movie from Watchlist after it has been watched. This would be nice, but is unnecessary because after watching a movie you can simply click the + symbol a second time to remove it from Watchlist. I would imagine this would be very easy to implement as a rebranded copy of Favorites. Adding other features could come later. Edit: added link to old post

  10. Sometimes when searching for a movie to watch I will set numerous filter criteria (Unplayed - Action - 2014 - PG13) for example. After Ive found what Im looking for its sort of cumbersome to have to go back in and unselect all the above individually. Any chance we can get a "clear all" button of some sort to get you back to viewing your entire library unfiltered? Plex does this and its very convenient. Thanks!

  11. PIP is something I really need, but I can't seem to get it working on my iPad running ios 12 Will Emby ever support PIP for iPad, or should i look for another media server system? I really don't want to invest time into a system that never gonna implement what i require.. Thanx..

  12. I sometimes enter my movie library with the desire to watch a movie but no real idea about what movie I would like to watch. Currently I can browse from a-z or z-a or by date added or by genre or by date released or maybe a few other choices but that means I am limited to seeing my movies in just a few orders and I see the same movies first in each sort every time. While that may seem like a good variety it really limits browsing and also means that some movies are always late in the browse. I have a library of well over 3000 movies and it sometimes takes a long time to find a movie to watch. What I would like to have is the option to present the movies in a random order that is different each time I browse. That way movies that I usually do not get to browse might show up earlier. I do NOT want random play I just want to be able to choose to browse my movies in a random order. I would really like this on the Roku client but I believe if it were implemented at the server then it would be easier for the clients to implement it.

  13. OK what happens is, the nfo written by the recording process appears complete enough that the internet metadata providers are not used. That's normal behavior when a pre-existing nfo is used, although we should find a way to override that for recordings I guess.

  15. Than that is the thing that should be corrected, rather than implementing any new feature, IMHO. Don't have URL-only NFOs, but on regular Kodi-style ones, any timestamp change triggers re-reading/re-importing changed data upon scan, don't know why that shouldn't apply to URL-only NFOs, @Luke?

  18. I should be able to at least get a beta version of this added to the catalog in the next two weeks or so. It will be a barebones version, though, not the fancy one I've been picturing, but it will cover what you need.

  21. I too had this problem. What I had to do to resolve this is to download the latest version (don't install yet), disable the automatic start up on boot in the settings, reboot my machine, run the update that I downloaded, and re-enabled the startup on boot. All is well now.

  22. The basic MKV container conversion is a good thing to have in the toolbox - as it's basically an enabler for the main MediaInfo function that only works on MKV's But for other more complex DV conversions, then we would be going down a rabbit hole that we really don't wanna contemplate entering .. !! I'd like to see the DTS to 'Add Dolby track' added - but that is very simple process. btw - we are just testing the new formatting of the Plugin - each function now has it's own tab (like Introskip did) - it looks very wizzy now - Dave has done an amazing job of making it all look as nice as it functions He is also adding an event listener to run the task on demand - ie as you add new items. Once final testing is done - then it can go into the catalog. @Cheesegeezer

  23. To add - the Plugin and Core are 'compatible' with each other with regards to the end 'Intro Start and Intro End' data. This is the bit which actually fires the 'Skip Intro' button. The data import is also compatible - ie once imported, the Core does not need to scan that item again. As you have already identified, the Plugin has a few benefits over the Core - End Credit Detection (shows) Manual Edits (Intro & Credit) Works with Intro's that happen after 10 minutes Initiates the 'Next Up' at the exact EndCredit marker time (thanks to the Core adding this in the clients) Auto Skip to next episode on EndCredit marker time Statistics & Reporting Comprehensive Logging These may be coming to the Core in the future (and we hope they do) - but as of today, they are missing. Personally, I'm still using the Plugin for all the features it brings above in addition to the Core. Functions appearing in both Core/Plugin (ie feature parity) - Intro Detection (where Intro happens in the first 10 minutes) Intro Skip (manual via client button) Intro Skip (option for Auto - Plugin also gives you the option to turn on/off associated message) I hope this helps. I may put some of this in a table in the Introskip Plugin thread actually - as it's a common question ! edit - I've now added this to the Introskip Plugin Wiki - https://github.com/chefbennyj1/Emby.IntroSkip.Release/wiki/Feature-List-Plugin-vs-Core Thanks.

  24. @Luke it looks like at some point SortParentIndexNumber stopped being filled in, running the following query select SeriesId, SeriesName, SortParentIndexNumber, count(1) as c from MediaItems where type = 8 group by SeriesId, SeriesName, SortParentIndexNumber order by SeriesId, SeriesName, SortParentIndexNumber shows a mixtures of shows with mostly a mixtures 0 and null. looking at the mix it looks like it stopped filling in the SortParentIndexNumber with the a recent Emby update 4.6 or so.

  25. Hi @horstepipe and @t123thomas can you please run embystat with flag "-g 1" so I get debugging information in the logs? It will post a lot of logging, so please PM me with the log file instead of posting it here. It also can contain your IP address and stuff, so please do a quick check before sending it to me.

  32. Another way to look at it. Here's the BDinfo straight from a UHD DV7 disc. As you can see it has a 2160p layer and a 1080p EL. Then when you use makemkv to create your file it hides those two video layers into one track while allowing you to reverse the process if needed later. 33. @hackthis02The plugin just updated to v3.0.0.0, and I can happily report it seems to be working perfectly with the latest stable release of Emby (and with Beta 4.8.0.0 on my test server). The issue I'd reported on previously with incorrect aired episode counts on the 2.1.x versions is fixed. Scans complete much faster than with previous versions as well since it is using data that has already been downloaded. If I notice anything odd over the next couple of days, I'll report back. Thanks for the update!!!

  34. Well, I manage to make it work "properly". I have other issue, but that's regarding on how buffering is done. What I end up doing for now is running a powershell script that strip down all of those fake channel. I've talked with the project owner and he'll try to make one for emby. The one he generate are normally for other computer program that work with these type of things. As for the other issue I have, there is some channel that have problem buffering. They work well in vlc, but not in emby. According to the owner, he saw that in that past it had it to do with buffering and how it's handled. Because of that, some channel just start, play 5 sec then freeze, other would loop through a 90 sec part of what was downloaded on the first connect everytime you start to listen to the channel. Many link have weak connection that drop while watching, sometime for a bit, which lead the application to hang, like it's not reconnecting properly. I was able to map everything that have a EPG to them no problem, they give many epg list just for that

  36. I feel like unloading a little and I'm not sure where better to do it... so I'll just drop this here. A while back I was toiling for a while over Plex vs Emby, to the point where I ultimately just kept both running on my NAS and maintained both. As time went on, thanks to a slightly better performing Android mobile app for music casting and some convenient tools like Tautulli, I ended up going all in on Plex and just kept Emby running as a plan B if Plex ever went too far over to the dark side or shit the bed. I invited my parents and my brother to my share and everything was going well enough. Randomly a week or two ago my Mom calls me saying one of the shows keeps randomly buffering every couple of minutes on Plex. I tried everything (over the phone, what a pain in the ass) to get it working smoothly for her, ie. assuming it was her internet I lowered the quality and forced transcoding but that led to other issues... knowing that there was no way I was actually going to get support from the Plex team, I eventually just had her try Emby since its library was mostly up to date and she hasn't had a single issue since. Even in my own experience, Emby has been virtually rock solid when it comes to video playback. This weekend I went over to my parents house and got their other devices switched over, I went over to my brothers house and got his devices switched over, and I've officially disabled (pending deletion) my Plex share for the first time since I started using it back in 2020. This experience, and the steps Plex has made recently drifting more into the "streaming hub" space and further away from the "personal media" space, made it an easy decision for me to give Emby back the throne for the time being. I don't have any advice, just wanted to share that story as a former Plex user.

  38. Hi, yes looks like it is. You'll just have to set one up for each day. I know that sounds tedious but that whole interface is in need of a revamp and will be much easier once that happens. Thanks.

  39. Similar to the original script I posted, this one strips out unwanted subtitles in movies instead of extracts them. This one, like the movie-subtitle-extract I have in my /usr/bin and just call it from within the Movie's folder. My folder structure is: /Media/Movies/MOVIE - Title/Movie-file. movie-subtitle-strip.sh

  40. This is the one I wrote for TVShows. I just put it as a cron and run it twice a day. I left some of my configs in there, so you can see how it's setup. You'll just need to add in your TVShow's path, The shows you want, lanaguages you want, EMBY URL and API Key. Lines 7,12,23,45 when replacing remove the {} around the value, i just put that as a marker/placeholder for you. subtitle-strip.sh

  44. Plex has finally been able to identify movies with Dolby Vision, so hopefully Emby can now do the same. This is currently working on the web version of Plex and has not yet been pushed to clients. See example screenshot.

  45. From my thinking, it seems like this would be a very easy feature to add. Just a simple watch list icon. Maybe an outline of a pair of glasses that is gray when not selected and blue when selected. Or a star or something. Some lthing that would go next to the favorites logo and would work in a very similar fashion but would create a separate list. I used to try to use the playlist for this but my playlist would randomly delete and disappear. So if a watchlist feature could be added and a tab for the movies and TV shows you have added to your watchlist could be added next to the favorites tab, that would be awesome. Right now I use my favorites section as a combination of my favorites and my watchlist. But it would be really great to have that separate. Maybe one additional feature that the watchlist could have is that after a movie has been played, it automatically is removed from that section. Does anyone else have an interest in this feature?

  46. Emby server doesn't use Local users for shared folder permissions with DSM 7 and instead uses System internal users. Make sure you click the dropdown box first and then you should see the already created 'emby' user and grant read/write permissions to your shared folder. You can then delete the local user embyUser you created
