  1. Don't purchase Emby Premiere from anyone other than Emby There are some unscrupulous individuals out there selling Emby Premiere keys through Ebay or other such marketplaces in other countries. ALL of these are a scam and you will eventually lose whatever money you pay them and not have a working key. The only way to purchase Emby Premiere is directly through our web site or through one of our official apps (Android or Apple). Please help us stop these people by reporting any listings you see by sending a direct message to "ebr" and don't get taken by one of them. Thanks! View the full article

  4. hahaha, ok that's completely my fault. I was doing some testing for the "locked" file issues, and put those in for my testing. so i could figure out how to fix and oooops i forgot to remove them (which is why it's not writing a title. give me a few mins. I wanna try and get the Bif issues sorted too.

  5. Yes and yes. Only those HD and UHD-DV5 files don't have those infos at all, lots of others UHD HDR ones look exactly like yours. I haven't checked all.

  6. Request No. 1: Implement Metascore rating for movies, from Metacritic.com, in Emby. OMDb api provides this information. Request No. 2: Also, fix an option in settings to enable or disable a ratings source according to the user's choice.

  7. I'll try to keep this feature request short and simple. When the Emby server needs to transcode audio to make it compatible for the Emby client, it will use a hardcoded value for the bitrate that cannot be changed. For example, if the audio gets transcoded to Dolby Digital AC-3, it will always use a bitrate of 384 kb/s. This value cannot be changed, even though Dolby Digital AC-3 allows a maximum bitrate of 640 kb/s. Although 384 kb/s is a decent compromise between quality and data, it is very compressed and the quality is far from being transparent. The same thing applies to every other audio codec the Emby server may transcode to, such as AAC. So the request is simple, allow users to specify the bitrate that should be used for transcoding audio. Thanks, Charlie

  8. Hi, This has been talked about a lot on the Apple TV forums, but there is no formal request for it. So I do it here, please add support for MKV HEVC HDR playback using Apple TV (without tone mapping). I don't care what technique you use. Either adding HLS fPM4 support to the server or improving the MPV player. I anticipate that I am not satisfied with you saying that Apple TV does not support that, since most players on the market support it. Thanks

  10. Hello, if you dont have the macOS emby app in full screen mode, it would be nice if the user can force to set the emby-app "always on top". Other macOS apps call this "float on top" or "always on top" and is available typically under menu "window" (Examples). It is possible to add that if not already available (at least i don't found this setting). thanks

  11. It would be great if we could turn off the Rotten Tomatoes score. I don't agree with their scores ever and have no need to see them on the screen.

  15. You need to check the TOC of any cloud based server vendor as some do not allow to stream media to Plex or Emby. Had that problem with one of the vendors, they disabled my account and I had the credit card company fight them for a refund which was successful.

  16. I get ya totally . But I guarantee that user will not like displaying TBA as a title for the episode. So why not call it Episode 1 if it’s TBA but set a bool for false if the name was TBA when scraped. Then you at least know to interrogate the source for correct filename at beginning of each scan

  18. Wouldn't it make sense to check the Emby library whether the episodes already exists or not, instead of doing that based on file name? It would be more bulletproof, I guess.

  20. I found out what happened. Changing the player (from mpv to native player) a message box says you have to restart the app. Obviously this didn’t work for me, but after restarting the ATV frame rate change (using the native player) works as expected. Thanks to @vdatanet.

  23. The error is suggesting you have no HDR movies and it's returning a NULL reference (ArgumentNullException which we need to trap) but I presume there are HDR movies to convert - thus you running it ? If you picked one manually, does it have colour primaries as bt2020 in it's media info ?

  25. Yep nice card mate, probably a little overkill for a Emby server but I'm sure it will kick butt transcoding. I'm jealous. You'll probably need to use hacked drivers to get over the 3 simultaneous transcode jobs but I'm sure your aware of that. I'd also relegate the 1660 to another machine, I think the 3060 is more than capable for your Emby server.

  26. I'll have a look at this.

  27. It would be a new setup/configuration as far as Emby knows. Your other setup is inside a docker container. If you were going to migrate you could copy the Emby folders out of the container. The main reason I'd run native is simplicity.

  37. Hi, I generally would suggest the Synology-specific package as that's what gets more testing from us, and Synology also puts it through their own test process as well.

  38. Hi, You can also disable TVDB and use TheMovieDB as metadata provider. Sorry, but my parameters are in French, This page is located in the "Media library" parameters.. And, as TVDB and TMDB are community driven, you can also edit episodes order and descriptions to solve your issue and share this correction to the community. I, personally, only use TMDB and named my medias to ensure detection is correct : insert "[tmdbid=111111]" in the movie or folder name...

  39. Imdb is also error prone by the way. Often the same errors get propagated across all the databases, I have noticed.

  41. That's not true: HDR passthrough is only supported by Apple TV native player (MPV player does tone-mapping) MKV direct playback is not supported by Apple TV native player, so direct streaming is required HLS HEVC streaming in Apple devices requires HLS fMP4 Emby Server does not support HLS fMP4 So, HEVC in MKV container is full transcoded using Apple TV native player. I hope it is understood, this is an Emby's limitation not Apple TV.

  42. It’s not hard to implement from what I understand. I just don’t think apple TV is a focus for the team. They say it is, but the app is so far behind the Android based apps and the Roku apps it’s sad. We all know that Infuse saves us lol.

  43. I still don't understand why this is so hard to implement, even the Jellyfin cousin has implemented it, not glitching while remuxing HEVC content using classic iOS app: /usr/lib/****-ffmpeg/ffmpeg -fflags +genpts -i file:"/media/4k/****.mkv" -map_metadata -1 -map_chapters -1 -threads 0 -map 0:0 -map 0:1 -map -0:s -codec:v:0 copy -tag:v:0 hvc1 -bsf:v hevc_mp4toannexb -start_at_zero -vsync -1 -codec:a:0 aac -ac 6 -ab 640000 -copyts -avoid_negative_ts disabled -max_muxing_queue_size 2048 -f hls -max_delay 5000000 -hls_time 6 -hls_segment_type fmp4 -hls_fmp4_init_filename "98b65c4d2ef149d56fd0b74b6e9feaac-1.mp4" -start_number 0 -hls_segment_filename "/var/lib/****/transcodes/98b65c4d2ef149d56fd0b74b6e9feaac%d.mp4" -hls_playlist_type vod -hls_list_size 0 -y "/var/lib/****/transcodes/98b65c4d2ef149d56fd0b74b6e9feaac.m3u8" BTW the new iOS/tvOS version Swiftfin (in very early status) direct plays DTS without remuxing.

  44. I don't know what OMDb provides and doesn't provide. The average user shouldn't be expected to know either. There should be an option to disable ratings appearing, that 1) is cross-platform (ie. not CSS); 2) doesn't require you to disable an entire metadata source, especially given their generic and unhelpful names; and 3) doesn't require a library-wide metadata refresh. It should simply be hidden. You shouldn't be required to erase it from your server's database, much less to erase any and all metadata from a given source simply because that source includes ratings.

  45. I would also wish some kind of setting for the audio bitrate (or just transcode to 640kbps AC3 if the user didn't select a low bitrate in the client). AC3 isn't a very efficient/good CODEC and ffmpeg isn't very good at encoding AC3. So 384kbps doesn't result in great quality for 5.1 channel sound. Plex transcodes multichannel sound to 640kbps AC3 (at least for LAN bandwidth). Would be great if Emby could also use the highest allowed bitrate.

  46. I just would like the option to turn it off, not turn it off for everyone. My personal opinion is that it is a very flawed service, others may like it.
