Whatever you were doing @chef , it has been working PERFECTLY for the last 3 months - zero issues, zero crashes, every single relevant Intro/credit found with microsecond accuracy .. I still smile every time I see the 'Intro and/or Credit Skipped' message .. You were doing something right .. be proud.

I don't have an ETA but we are working on an automatic switch to the native player with server transcoding when you press the Pip button. That will allow us to accomplish it seamlessly.

Thanks! That solved it! I should have known to put the date on both. The TVDBID worked perfectly and allowed me to manually identify them both. Marked your answer as solution and gave you a rep. I am going to chock this up to the switching to team Emby learning curve lol. Now I know what to do in the future. Thank you!

Still showing 1.79 but if it’s completely updated I’ll change version to 2.0 so it’s known to be compatible with emby core

Sometimes when searching for a movie to watch I will set numerous filter criteria (Unplayed - Action - 2014 - PG13) for example. After Ive found what Im looking for its sort of cumbersome to have to go back in and unselect all the above individually. Any chance we can get a "clear all" button of some sort to get you back to viewing your entire library unfiltered? Plex does this and its very convenient. Thanks!

Hi. Recently, I've been able to play around with the Emby Android TV app for Fire TV and I noticed a few extra features that would be really nice to see on the LG app: Enable Refresh Rate Switching. Does LG even allow this on built-in apps? Image Size options for covers. I love being able to see big movie posters! Dedicated button on remote to quickly and easily show the Stats for Nerds overlay during playback. Super helpful! Can this be mapped to one of the otherwise unused buttons on the LG remote? Now that update approvals are happening more frequently, any chance we could see these cool features added to the LG app? Thanks!

I sometimes enter my movie library with the desire to watch a movie but no real idea about what movie I would like to watch. Currently I can browse from a-z or z-a or by date added or by genre or by date released or maybe a few other choices but that means I am limited to seeing my movies in just a few orders and I see the same movies first in each sort every time. While that may seem like a good variety it really limits browsing and also means that some movies are always late in the browse. I have a library of well over 3000 movies and it sometimes takes a long time to find a movie to watch. What I would like to have is the option to present the movies in a random order that is different each time I browse. That way movies that I usually do not get to browse might show up earlier. I do NOT want random play I just want to be able to choose to browse my movies in a random order. I would really like this on the Roku client but I believe if it were implemented at the server then it would be easier for the clients to implement it.

Me too. I pay for Emby Premiere but background playback and PiP is vital.

Spent a little more time this evening on this. got all the info and I’m starting to play with it. CLI programs are soooo fussy on the syntax wasted about 2 hrs debugging and fining out that i had something unnecessary in the command lol grrrrrr. Need to do some conditional string formatting, and then i will test with my only tester!! should be done pretty quickly i think.

Hello @ebr I'm not a fan of lurid headlines and surely everyone has their very own wish for the next feature, but can you please put the basic stability and functionality in the foreground or still with in the next update? No idea if with the point: direct playback instead of stream still does not work of @Teddyknuddel the point is meant that you can not play AVI files: This is certainly not only from my point of view a cornerstone of the app. Thanks for your effort and congratulations for the recent release 4.7.0.60. best regards seger

Solved! Tested Shield-Server---->Shield-Client(s) and all worked great with HD and 4K media on my local network! I also tested remote again using my browser and HD playback is smooth. And, the Shield is working excellent as a NAS for serving local playback of ISO with the Zidoo Z9X. The guides Emby staff provided are great! Thank you very much for the help and guidance!

That's not a spotlight. That is showing details for the currently selected item and, as mentioned, the Android TV, Fire TV and Roku apps have this same layout (basically) because I also copied it from Netflix .

I cant see any reason why not. I’m using MediaInfoCLI commands and got some initial good info from a debian/ubuntu developer(sorry i dunno the difference)

With the current version of the plugin that is true, however we can update the plugin such that the core can use the timings from the plugin. It’s just a matter of changing how the data is stored so that it matches the core.

hi luke, thx again, i delete the lib folder and create a new one and then it works and could automatically detect any files in a short time.

Well, it seems I had to explicitly use https in the app, which now that I think about it, makes sense, the browser is redirected to https whereas the app cannot.

For testing change the plugin ID. Test it. But, maybe be cautious of creating a public release until you know for sure the markerTypes are working, and compatible. Otherwise the core devs would have to disable the new id. Cool news is that if you are successful with the plugin data and the chapter markerTypes, you indirectly cause the button to show. Success! Sorry I can't be of more help. But, markerTypes == client button Which if anyone reads that... is gonna be the same for the core data. The data is pretty much the same... So exciting... Yeah... but... not really.

Hey Guys. the GitHub is updated with the most recent plugin code. I didn't change anything. It's all the same since we left it a couple months ago. Cheese! Rich! You have to add the proper markers for chapters. That's all that has to be fixed. I'm screwed for time. I'm working the COVID units every night, and I'm just exhausted. It is mentally exhausting, and physically draining me. I wish I had more time, but it is just a really bad time right now to do anything I actually want to do... which is program computers. I'm very sorry.

Hm, I never experiences such issues. I think that's not a fair comparison. Windows is the only OS in the world where you are able to run binaries (or access libraries/DLLs) that have been compiled 20 years ago. It's a lot of work to cut down all that stuff, that's really annoying. What I find really upsetting is that they want to start requiring you to have an MS account to install the OS (not only on Home but also Pro).

Emby shows 23.976/24p correctly on my OLED LG TV and other LCD LG TVs (2016 models through to 2021) and switches back to PAL 50hz as well. So the player software or TV itself does switch to match frame rate as I would notice instantly, Emby may not need to do it because of that...

It is just the website. No server or web client code is public.

@adamstewiegreen Do you actually have multiple versions in your setup? But don't believe I have ever seen this. Do they both go to the same place? You can see path via right click edit metadata on each.

Would happily pay for this feature in Premiere. (I already pay, but let’s assume I’d pay more!) It’s the one and only one major drawback to relying on Emby alone. EDIT: Would love background audio playback as well as an option, so i can listen to videos at night or when quickly switching between apps and don’t want the sound to pause.

I noticed a difference in loading also. Slower than before. I think it is due to subtitles. I think it is now first extracting the subtitles from the file before it starts playing. Before it started playing directly and after xx seconds the subtitles appeared, now the subtitles are there right from the start.

Rights are a little different on DSM 7. Did you give rights to the Internal Emby user? From Control Panel go to Shared Folder and edit each share that is used by Emby Server. Click the share, then EDIT, go to permission tab, select System internal user from drop down, grant emby user read/write access. Let us know if this solves your problem.

people have got used to docking their video player while carrying on using other apps. It was a big plus when it was added to iOS, I’m not surprised at all
