  1. Update: They have lifted the suspension but are forcing us to resubmit for review. No idea how long the review period will be but we will let you know. Thanks.

  2. I don't remember exactly why it was removed. Something tells me we had to intercept the PlaybackProgressEvent, and there wasn't way to make the delay exactly what was in the input. The event might fire just after the inputted time, and I think we were trying to avoid any extra issues and complaints at the time. If it is with the understanding that the delay would happen around the time of the intro, and not exactly perfect, we can totally put it back in. I'm just not interested in the possibility of having to repeatedly explain why the delay isn't exactly when the user wants it. But I definitely understand the utility of the option. So if we release a fix with some of the feature requests made recently, and this option is added back in... I'm gonna point users back to this comment if we hear anything about it. The programmer in me is wearing a little thin, due to some of recent events surrounding plugin-in development, but I'm totally game to update some features ... mostly because @rbjtech believes in this plugin, and champions it I just don't want the code dissected, reworded, and posted all over the community. that is what takes all the fun out of it. I realize what I say here subverts the halt of development. But, if Rich says go for it, I'll go for it.

  9. Hi - thanks for posting this - I need to update the Wiki - that must have been an old screen grab in the wiki .. This feature was in one of the earlier Beta's but was taken out - I can't remember why now - because it's a needed feature as you say. The idea was to add the 'delay' to the detected IntroStart time, so you always play a bit of the Intro as you say just to 'make sure' and also use the same value to leave some of the Intro before new content starts. ie 1000ms - plays 1 second of Intro at the start and then skip jumps but leaves 1 second at the end as well. The downside of doing this is the auto-skip will be very 'harsh' with no chance of it being a seamless skip. The Core is unlikely to have this level of extra/useful functionality - so maybe after the dust has settled, we can put this back in.. ? @chef @Cheesegeezer

  18. You are correct. I added an srt file and restricted the bitrate to force Emby to transcode the file. It shows a speed close to 3x, which it could never do without VAAPI. I'm learning my way around the interface. Even though my hardware is totally obsolete, the fact that the effort was made to get this to work properly with ffmpeg and the qnap is noticed! I tried 3-4 years ago and it wasn't working yet. Thank you! If I rebuild the pc with my intel qsv based media server I will definitely use Emby instead of the other one, which is too bloated and buggy lately, Great Work!ffmpeg-transcode-d719a392-0486-4409-83ab-c6754902ba76_1.txt

  21. Okay, when you have DTS-HD enabled, Exo is using the Shield's built-in codec for the audio. When you disable it, we route through ffmpeg. So the problem is somewhere in the Shield's codec implementation or Exo's. 22. I don't know, I think you should post this question in one of the Emby support threads. The plugin just queries the live-tv data from Emby server. In other words, what is valid/playable on Emby server (WebUI) is also valid for next-gen. The paths Kodi uses are just the stream paths coming from Emby server (with some modification making it also valid for Kodi).

  24. I got around to testing this. I don't have any issues using DTS-HD 2.0 after skipping the video - it plays back normally. The AVR confirms it's two channel as I can see the mapping. I'm on Shield 2019 Pro SE8, Emby Server 4.7.0.34, Client ATV 2.0.70g (via DFA).

  25. The "Major" TV Changes have been coming forever - is there any danger of anything actually being released this year though? Even minor feature updates seem to have dried up, with the last "stable" release 7 months ago (and no jumping on the Beta and enduring the weekly regressions isn't an acceptable option, especially given that it doesn't even have any stand out features - mostly just a collection of tiny bug fixes)

  26. Well I did some additional testing. I tried to eliminate everything I could think of, on the server, that was running around that time (backup #1 that is shutting down the container, backup #2 using borgmatic, file mover), and the issue still persist around the same time, so I don't think the issue resides on a job on the server. The container stops at 3am and starts back up at around 3:15am. I have then obtained new logs, that for some reason, are much harder to obtain when running the logging mode in debug mode. It took more than a week to make the Pi crashes in debug mode, as when it's not in debug mode, it freezes every night or 2. The last time the system crashed, it hanged on the home screen, with the system time displayed as 3:28am. I'm sending you again the link in a pm regarding the log path. Regarding your point on the cached artwork, is there a way to know which artwork is causing the problem? Thanks!

  27. Hi - Any further development on the plugin has halted for the time being until we understand what is being included in the Core version. We are almost certain that statistics will not be included in the Core. The idea (which definitely needs more work btw) is to highlight possible errors based on probability. ie If a show has well defined Intro's - but one of them is missing (excluding episode 1) then there is a good possibility it has not been detected - thus it is highlighted by the Exclamation Mark. On a big collection, it is invaluable to see and filter by this info so you can investigate the possible issue. We started on this logic - but never got around to finishing it unfortunately ...

  28. Yeah it's a good feature to have, I have noticed some shows (eg. The Walking Dead) start playing the regular intro music a few seconds before the intro starts during crucial spots. Of course the plugin picks this up as the intro and adds the marker a bit too early. Easy to fix up with the editor, but would be nice to have some control.

  29. Yeah i need to make the conditions much stricter for Ratings, this was an issue with US ratings where NR would be picked over R ratings. But it looks like you have confirmed my logic is a POS lol . no need for donations or anything like that, it’s a hobby for me and I’m self taught coder, so I wouldn’t want any money for my novice coding. Just supporting Emby as a project is good enough for me. cheers fella.

  31. I got it sorted thx So the initial drive had an input-output error I couldn't fix it on Linux. I took out the drive and installed it on my windows machine. When I opened the drive there was a permissions error opened it as admin and backed up my directory. Installed it back into the Linux machine. Formatted the drive with a Linux partition. Put the old directory in place. Unrar is working now extracting in 8min on an 8gig file. My conclusion looks like NTFS file system was an issue. input output error is also gone. Emby is syncing as well now

  33. Thanks for the very detailed replies! This is great (and is there a way I can make a donation?) FYI: Breezy seashore town, maybe: but I live in Toronto, Canada - Scarborough's a large part of the city where I grew up, which *was* named for that seaside town - so I imagine we've had to endure shitty cinemas! SEA TO SEA! Thanks for the update on the webhooks as well. I'm trying to figure out an interim solution as well, if I come up with anything I'll post it here. @chef, et al have also been hugely helpful with support - it's just so, so much better than Plex (and I dunno why anyone would continue to use that POS). I'm subscribing to the lifetime Premiere membership shortly, but would be happy to pay a small subscription for this plugin too. Now if only I could get my dogs to stop pissing on the floor - that's what it was like the cinemas in Scarborough, Ontario in the 80's and 90's. Cheers and thanks again, looking forward to the future plugins (was just wondering about a skip-intro plugin!) d

  34. Luke has been making a lot of changes to the present server live tv wise. This includes how streams are handled to revamping how the present live tv plugin system works. The new plugin framework has essentially turned other systems into "tuners" that give Emby access to additional channels without additional baggage. Instead of the server having to handle all these plugins a bit differently they all work the same now interface wise and essentially do the job of a tuner by adding channels to Emby Server. The scheduling, recording, guide handling and other logic that was often part of a plugin is no longer. Now the plugin present the channels to Emby and the Emby Server handles everything else. This provides a simpler pipeline with less overhead using common code for less chance of issues. New features like direct access to Hauppauge tuners at a low level without the current software stack that was previously developed and tested can integrated now using the new plugin framework. Same with the low level HDHomeRun code that we all liked during testing. That too can be added via the plugin interface and bring it's faster tuning and new news feature set to Emby. A lot of development, time and testing went into the previous project and the new plugin framework is almost perfect for bringing much of that new functionality to the present system. So "Is this still coming anytime soon?" I could say it's already happening piece by piece, just differently.

  35. Thanks a lot, i don't know this soft (picard), it's excellent ! I always need the doublon function for audio files but with this tool, i think it will be more easier An other suggestion if you want : it would be fine to add a new category to permit the adding of webradio by m3u files (shoutcast for example). I have some personnal webradio that i'm listening in my car with VLC, it would be fun to listen it with Emby. I think you have a lot of others functionnality to integrate, but if you have 5 minutes a day... (i'm telling this all days to my developpers team, i can imagine you reaction ) A big thanks for your work guys !

  39. You're correct in your assumption that I have real-time monitoring on (not really real time if we're to be precise). I don't know, or more like I haven't observed, how Sonarr performs this operation. I'd assume it confirms that the new episode is downloaded, deletes the old one in the destination folder and replaces it with the newly downloaded one. Your theory seems to hold up in that the server understands that "Ah, this is a new version of the same episode. I'll update the entry" while Kodi's like "Looks like they added a new entry of the same episode". For me, a non-programmer, it seems like Kodi just needs to understand that it's the same episode, just not the same file representing it. But I don't think I had this issue with Jellyfin for Kodi so it doesn't seem to be a problem on Kodi's side.

  41. @Q-Droidsounds good, the energy consumption could be lower but maybe not for a Desktop CPU with some transcoding power. @KMBanana I mainly want to use Windows to be able to use Remote Desktop features since the server will be in another part of the house. And to mount encrypted containers using Veracrypt. I only know how to do all this in Windows. Constant rebooting can be prohibited by turning off auto updates I think, so the updating process can be done in a more controlled environment. I'm also thinking that I might use the server at some point as a second workstation, not really sure about that now. RAID functions are not necessary since I do manual (local) backups and the data doesn't need to be available 100% of the time in case of a damaged partition/HDD. And do you mean running a NAS and an Emby server as two separate devices? Or just that the purpose of the server is mainly being a NAS? The reason why I'm going for my own build instead of buying a Synology is mainly to have more transcoding power in the CPU (for a budget that doesn't kill me) and because the RAID features are not so important in my case.

  42. Emby for Samsung 1.2.6 has been released. We hope you enjoy the many new features of this build! Visual Timeline Seeking including Thumbnail Graphics Included in our new 1.2.6 release for Samsung is support for visual seeking. You can Rewind, Fast Forward or Jump to any position in the timeline quickly and easily using our new seeking. Best of all, our new seeking combined with thumbnail graphics makes it easy to pin-point the scene you want to re-watch or queue up. The above pictures shows how easy it is to find a scene you want to watch. You even get the chapter name embedded in the thumbnail picture. Speaking of which, Chapters make use of our thumbnail graphics as well, with their own set of information and use of graphics. The above screenshot shows the use of Thumbnail graphics in our Chapter selector available from the easy to use OSD menu, and that's no bull. This screen demonstrates how easy it is to view the Name, Starting Time as well as Thumbnail showing the action taking place at the start of the Chapter. Improvement to Audio On Screen Display (OSD) You can now toggle the play queue on and off, allowing you to choose between seeing the list, or just the artwork. This change makes room for additional space needed for a new user requested feature that is quite popular. New Use of Graphics Elements This release of Emby for Mac uses additional graphical elements in subtle ways that sure to please. It still has the classy interface you've come to love but uses additional graphics in a modest manner giving it an elegant and refined look. The screenshots above demonstrates this with a couple simple changes such as changing the title that was text to graphical. Additional useful information is now available right in the OSD besides the chapter shown above. You can now quickly get a look at different things on TV with graphics using On Now or easily bring up a traditional Guide in grid format. These new OSD designs strike a nice balance of providing additional information while still allowing you to easily enjoy the content be watched. Of course that's not all. Emby for Samsung 1.2.6 has additional new features and fixes including: Better remote control and fixes for certain models Improve Performance with Large Libraries Improved Performance of Playlist Detail Screen Improved Audio Book Detail Screen Addition of a Resume Rewind Playback Option (Server version 4.7+ required) Newly added Support for A-Z Picker with Descending Order New Support for A-Z Picker when Sorting by Album or Album Artist Various Improvements for Subtitles New Options for Subtitles allowing you to set Background Color and Opacity Options for Easier Viewing View the full article

  44. this issue is still not fixed by emby unfortunately so im reposting the bandaid fix for other users with the problem:- Emby's latest update 2.0.70g version is bugged on both Android for TV clients and Fire Tv clients! what will happen is when you fast forward or rewind a show it will hang completely and force you to close the content you are watching and start it again! Unfortunately it seems the issue is ONLY related to emby's internal player on these clients as every external player i have used with emby 2.0.70g completely fixes the issue. Here are the current fixes and the issues with them:- Removing emby for android tv 2.070g and sideloading emby for android tv2.0.48 (the previous version) fixes the issue even when using the internal player! the issue you then get is that you can't actually get past the device unlock due to either emby for android tv still being completely absent from the app store or it not being possible to do device unlock on sideloads. You can also sideload emby for Android (the mobile version) and this will also fix the android for tv bug but once again you will get the device unlock issue and the bigger issue is the app just looks very basic and not great on a device like nvidia shield! (yes i have turned on tv mode in the app and it still looks like an app that should be on a samsung galaxy not a 65" tv) So the best workaround i could find for now was to actually use Android for tv 2.0.70g, go into your emby playback settings and select use external player for videos! then go to your app store and download VLC player. Now you can rewind and fast forward as normal and playback content with no issues! Its not really ideal for the normal user and im not sure why i had to go through so many hoops myself while emby was saying it was possibly issues with cloudflare without even really looking into the problems themselves.

  45. Hello, So something I'm getting a lot of feedback from people that would make Emby more useable. When searching by Person in Emby, there is a lot of "Noise" in the Episodes section. People who are credited for the entire Series are often individually tagged for every single episode which makes it hard to find the genuinely interesting cameo style appearances that the "Episodes" view is very useful for. The feedback is to remove individual episodes if the person is credited for the whole Series. Let's look at a real world example that looks correct, Jerry Seinfeld. When I view his Actor page I can see Movies / TV Series / Individual Credits in Episodes When I click on just Episodes: It's awesome, I can see Jerry Seinfeld on Late night talk shows, Hosting SNL and Guest Appearances in other shows like Louie and Mystery Science Theater. This is exactly what I would expect. I pick a different actor Dan Harmon and view Episodes; Every episode of Harmontown, HarmonQuest and Rick & Morty come up. So I never can see his Cameos as there are pages and pages of just episodes. Dan Harmon is already credited at the Television Show level for Harmontown, HarmonQuest and Rick and Morty. So my suggestion is to exclude from the Person view the episodes if the person is already credited at the Television Series level to make this screen more useful. Thanks

Ciao, Alfred

  47. No, as long you don't use Premiere features such as Live TV and hardware acceleration for transcoding.

  48. So I have no issues playing the DTS-HD 2.0 file via DFA or HTTP.. edit - so the only difference I can think of is :- a) SE8 vs SE9 b) ARC vs Direct(mine is Shield>AVR) - does it also stutter if you playback direct from Shield>TV and remove ARC out the equation ?) c) Is your TV set to Sync with the media Frame Rate in SFN - as this is a 1080i/25 source - Mine sync's to 1080/50
