  1. I just noticed this as well. Episode titles in Emby are different than what is currently on TVDB for all seven of the episodes that were released yesterday. But refreshing metadata results in titles being refreshed to match those on TVDB. I think (but I'm not 100% certain) the wrong titles were initially entered at TVDB, and then someone corrected them.

  2. One thing the streaming community hasn't done well is really create tools that allow us to simulate live TV well. I think the biggest reason that binging on Netflix (and Emby) is so popular is because you push a button and go. I'd like to see Emby create a "To Watch List" that basically allows you to sort shows into a specific order. When you watch that list, it will only play the most recent episode of each show in the list that premier inside that week. Lets pretend I made a DC TV Watch list, it would only play this weeks episode of Arrow, Flash, Legends, Supergirl and Gotham one after another. If an episode didn't premier that week, it gets skipped. Additionally, I'd like to see this system *ALSO* allow us to insert bumpers similar to Cartoon Network or Toonami. In the here and now, it would only insert bumpers between the series, but it would be nice if in the future, a system that allows some method for choosing the appropriate points between each act of an episode where bumpers could also be inserted. Bumpers would be a community thing to create, but inside the "to watch list", you'd choose what bumpers (if any) are used. Bumpers could even be surrounded by previews. Finally, another thought: while Emby already can pull Movie Trailers, it might be another cool future project if we could pull previews of related series not in the "To Watch List" and/or perhaps ones that aren't on your server that are similar to what you are watching. There's a lot of ideas in this post to digest and several should be their own project as part of this concept. Thoughts

  3. @chef So I'm auto-organizing the new Ozark episodes (season 4 episodes 8-14). When Emby does it's thing moving it out of the watched folder to it's final destination, it scrapes for all the metadata and renames the files...this is all normal. However, for this show only...it has renamed all 7 episodes something completely different from where I have the metadata coming from. It's weird, I went to TheTVDB and the shows are identified correctly, I went to TheMovieDB and the shows are also identified correctly. Those are both where I have the libraries pointing to get their metadata from. So where is Emby scraping this incorrect metadata from?

  4. This is a USB side load correct? If so it has to be loaded every 30 days as Samsung requires this.

  10. Actually it's resolved now. I removed a movie from the drive in question to free up space. That resolved the thumbnail issue. The bigger issue was resolved by signing in MANUALLY vs clicking the name. Thank you for your help and quickness to reply !!!!

  11. I understand it was working for you, hence I've said exploit/loophole, as I've seen several others, unrelated - and I'm using one of those still, in respect to Folder access. They work - until they don't. And those are harder to track, as it must be a very specific set of circumstances that led to their breaking. You might wanna pursue this issue further with possibility for it to be solved (or not) - or use supported method and be done with it now.

Then I would say you've found an exploit - or a loophole - if it was working (or not, in this particular case) for you with no issues, as AFAIK this: /mnt/Television/Last Night's/Halo (2022) S01E05 Spaced Out.mkv /mnt/Television/Last Night's/Halo (2022) S01E06 Solace.mkv /mnt/Television/Last Night's/Outer Range (2022) S01E05 The Soil.mkv /mnt/Television/Last Night's/Outer Range (2022) S01E06 The Family.mk was never intended to be supported, having episodes from multiple shows inside same folder for a TV show content-type library. What I would suggest is you make each series subfolder in your "Last Night's" parent folder and place those episodes within respectively, upon which you should not have re-occurences/mis-plays.

  14. I did some editing based on @Bagul's docker compose and it seems the issue is resolved. Initially I could resume but then skipping or manually changing the play position caused the same issue. I restarted the app and tried again and it has no more issue. I've tried a few different times and it appears the app is working fine. So thank you to everyone who chipped in. I will see if it is completely resolved or whether I have any further intermittent issues.

  15. The cost of electricity to convert lets say 8Tb worth of h264 to another codec @ 100% cpu for that entire time will be significant and something to factor into the equation. 'Cheaper' - maybe ?, that's a fair enough comment - that all depends on the cost of your electricity in your region I guess.

  16. Thanks everyone for all your help and fast responses! yes, the Plugins seemed to be impacting my performance, i shut off the cover set and fan art/cover art. All good now, I didn’t even think of that so thank you. thanks for keeping Emby going well for so long, I was an early adopter and I’ve enjoyed using it for many years!   17. I'm away from home and won't return for another 2 weeks, once I'm back I'll update and check. On a side note. Would it be possible to add the build number to the addon.xml? Makes it easier to check installed version and build.

  18. Sorry, I can't confirm that here. My largest movie category has 145 entries, and there's no lockup on my TV (OLED55B8PA). I'm not using any plugins. While I'm here, thanks to the devs for quickly fixing the missing play button, and for the previous scrolling fix.

  19. Yea that is strange, I just tested it with a dummy file and got the same result. Is it just that particular episode (S04E14)? That's the only one I tested. I was assuming all the rest where ok. It just seems to be the episode title that's wrong, the rest of the metadata (plot, genre director etc.) looks good.

  21. The program draws on images already on the drives. Most have been reused. Anyway, The images that were used initially seem to have been replaced by my selsctions. The defaults seem to have been replaced by my earlier selections, so I'm closing this issue. As it turned out, only one drive was affected. Some of the images were reused but many wrere replaced with defaults.

  22. Have you configured Emby to save artwork alongside the media files for that library? If not, you probably should - that way Emby won't attempt to download anything regardless of whether you reinstall again.

  23. Tested in Home Videos and Photos. Show all 18 parts. Content place in Photo folder. But looking at your screen shot you have videos in "Twin Peaks Z-A" folder instead of a "Behind the Curtain" folder. From the KB. Does the KB need amended to same name movie folder as shown in the example?

  24. @cayars that was just a section of the full config, will post it all tomorrow for you to take a look at. So far I've found it working fine with galaxy s8 and s9 but not note 10 lite or s22. The only other issue I've identified is with the podcast plugin I can't skip, pods will play from the beginning but when skipped will just return to the current play position. Not tested pods on any other devices yet. I am using emby.domain.tld not domain.tld/emby

The Cube is effectively an echo Dot plus a 4K Max FireTV - so you get the added ability to say 'Alexa Turn on My TV' or 'Alexa Open Emby' (and it will turn on the TV, and open Emby) etc. It is also one of the few devices to support HDR10, HLG, HDR10+ and DV(lvl 5,8+9) - ie all the HDR formats and of course has Ethernet built in (but STILL only 100Mbit/sec) .   27. I see a lot of errors in your second log related to the audio track. I know this may not be what you want to hear but it may just be that device is too old. It is very low powered and running Android 5.1.

  30. Hi, I was notified last night to restate the server as there was a new Stats update. I have done that and it is now running V2.1.3.0 but either I have something wrong somewhere or the update has overlooked something. Previously if you went to the Stats it showed how many episodes you had collected and watched of each series now its not doing that. I have show missing episodes (yes I am still working on my back log) in my library configuration but now when I go to Stats it only shows the files I have, it is not even showing what I have watched. I have restarted 4 times, down a full power cycle thinking that might have helped but I am still stuck like this. For example: 100 Foot Wave, 11.22.63 and 1883 - I have watched and have all episodes but if I take 30 Rock I have only watched say 4 seasons and technically I am missing 1 episode as the last episode is a double and therefore Emby reports it as missing or not an episode (in this case). However, upon looking further for an example of a double episode I have identified that this latest update has affected the missing episodes option. - Sorry

  33. Okay, so the only reason we have stayed silent on the details until now is because we think that our users complaining to Google about the issue may only make matters worse. So, please, do not complain directly to Google. Let us deal with this through proper channels. I have had discussions related to both our device limits and certain features that we feel cater directly to only the illegal use of our platform with many users and stated how the store operators have all the power. We can be removed at a whim by any of them. Many of you have argued with me that that is a silly concern. I've also pointed out how the stores don't fully understand what we are and, in many cases, just don't care to. The net of the current situation is that someone was discovered using our platform to distribute content illegally. The owner of the content reported our app as violating their copyright and Google immediately suspended us. No matter that we are not responsible for this nor does our app actually provide any content. With the very vague understanding of these details by the people in charge, the mere hint of anything "off" is enough. We have recourse, supposedly, but they have a rather long time to respond to it. We should be nearing the end of that time and will, hopefully, be re-instated soon. If not, we'll have to see what our next steps are to prove to them that our app is not hosting this content. I'll re-iterate - a bunch of our users complaining will likely just make matters worse so please do not do that. We will let you know when we have any more information. Google has been completely silent for almost two weeks now. Thanks.
