One thing the streaming community hasn't done well is really create tools that allow us to simulate live TV well. I think the biggest reason that binging on Netflix (and Emby) is so popular is because you push a button and go. I'd like to see Emby create a "To Watch List" that basically allows you to sort shows into a specific order. When you watch that list, it will only play the most recent episode of each show in the list that premier inside that week. Lets pretend I made a DC TV Watch list, it would only play this weeks episode of Arrow, Flash, Legends, Supergirl and Gotham one after another. If an episode didn't premier that week, it gets skipped. Additionally, I'd like to see this system *ALSO* allow us to insert bumpers similar to Cartoon Network or Toonami. In the here and now, it would only insert bumpers between the series, but it would be nice if in the future, a system that allows some method for choosing the appropriate points between each act of an episode where bumpers could also be inserted. Bumpers would be a community thing to create, but inside the "to watch list", you'd choose what bumpers (if any) are used. Bumpers could even be surrounded by previews. Finally, another thought: while Emby already can pull Movie Trailers, it might be another cool future project if we could pull previews of related series not in the "To Watch List" and/or perhaps ones that aren't on your server that are similar to what you are watching. There's a lot of ideas in this post to digest and several should be their own project as part of this concept. Thoughts2 points

I like to have complete albums but sometimes I really dislike some of its tracks at the first listen. I'd like for them not to appear in the playlist, wether it's from Play All button on the album page or the whole music library Shuffle button, but be able to play them manually (by clicking on it or adding it the to playlist myself). Just like knowing it's here and that I can give it a new try sometimes What do you think?1 point

The Mult-Select in the Server web app is super-useful (I'm so grateful to those that introduced me to it!). But given that the Server web app has some excellent filtering functions (eg, in my case I make use of filtering by Tags) it would be very handy to have a "Select All" functionality, so that I can filter down to the results I'm looking for and then easily add them to a Collection (or, when eventually we have Bulk Editing abilities, open a Bulk Edit view on all the Selected items). Thanks! PS - If this is something you might like to see implemented, be sure to "Like" this top/first post (as well as any subsequent posts in this thread that highlight particular aspects of what you are interested in) -- "Liking" the top/first post helps the Devs to know how much interest there is in a given Feature Request.1 point

Would some kind of music service integration be on the cards, like plex has tidal (I like music videos, but plex handling is piss poor and very restrictive) on an official basis as opposed to people creating work arounds, I ask because I think the majority now use streaming services as opposed to keeping a music library locally (the opposite of habits with films and tv show stuff) and to access everything in 1 program would be quite simply awesome, I know this wouldn't be as simple as coding because there would I assume be a need for some kind d of commercial arrangement? You should be fine if just using the ShieldTV for playback and not as a server. It's actually ok as the server as well if you have the media mounted as internal or willing to do so. Android 11 on Shield TV with external media is the issue. The permissions are messed up for non system users running apps and needs fixing. However it sounds like this was done on purpose for security reasons so I'm not sure what the back-story is. All I know for sure is that they clearly changed functionality between 10 and 11. Internal storage or External? See above and many other threads for issues with External storage on Android 11. Short answer is not to use external storage with Android 11. Use either internal storage or move the USB drives to a computer or your router where they can be network shared. The ShiedTV can mount the drives over a network just fine with either Samba or NFS.1 point

Hi, I just wanted to point out that this used to say just "Taiwan" but now is showing "Taiwan, China". I don't know if you are populating this from some public API or database for countries, but this is incorrect. I won't go any further and will try to keep the politics out of this forum. I just wanted to point out that having it listed as such is not only false information, but is also very disrespectful for an entire nation of people.1 point

That might be ok as a workaround, I don't think my users reshuffle their home screens a lot. Thanks1 point

4.7 changes a bunch of core Emby services/interfaces/etc. this plugin depends on, so the plugin developer is working as fast as they can to rewrite significant elements of the plugin to accommodate the not particularly documented changes. You can follow the progress on the Developer API forum:1 point

Ah, thanks for the info! I appreciate it! Short term at least, my issue is resolved. Outside of the tv tuner I don't really have any other sources of mpeg-2 encoded material these days, so I'm not overly concerned about running into issues, unless they are something that shows up on broadcast. I'll try to remember to check again after next release, and switch back to DX11VA and see if the issue stops happening. Thanks!1 point

There's NFO Reader and NFO Saver setting for each library. You want to ensure that Saver is enabled on one server only, whilst Reader is enabled on all of them.1 point

If the parts are intended to be separate, is it actually appropriate that the second part plays automatically after the first (serious question)? In any case, a single click to start is not an ordeal - after all, if it played automatically you might well want to click to pause it to get a cup of tea or whatever... But there's another way. Put it in a series folder, and set your client to automatically play the next episode. I note that TVDB even supports both two and four part versions of this film as a series (2-part as s00e01-s00e02, and 4-part as s01e01-s01e04) as well as the whole movie as a single item. Paul1 point

I agree, but also it seems like the code for favorites could be cloned and given a new name and logo. I’d really love to have both.1 point

I too can confirm that the play button on the LG TV remote is working again, I am so happy. Thank you for fixing the bug1 point

Ok, I'm putting this here because it seems to have the most pages and the main LG app status thread has been closed for some reason. 1. It's a bit weird how you update multiple threads (some really old) about new app versions. 2. Update posts always say stay tuned for the blog that rarely happens. The last one I can see is for 1.0.24 3. Can you open the status thread so updates can be discussed in a central location. I understand issues should have their own threads but when the blogs don't happen it would be good to find a place where people can comment on update changes. I just wanted to say the the newest update has improved seeking a lot. Especially if you want to get to the middle of a film, it used to be a slog and now it's quite easy.1 point

Probably not what people want to deal with but you can set custom subtitle colours with Advanced Sub Station (ASS - yes it's funny) format subtitles. You can also change where they appear on the screen. I use SubtitleEdit to format them and use &H00808080 as the colour (grey). I keep the subtitle files separate but I believe you can have them inside an MKV file.1 point

PCM_S24LE has been added to the direct play codecs for wav for the web app for the next release of the server. I tested in a number of browsers and all of the ones supporting wav were able to play it. Thanks.1 point

Saw that one, but didn't quite match what I was seeing. My Radarr showed correct everything: paths, titles, plot, actors, and etc. It would even download and rename correctly. Just when it ran the metadata tasks would it screw it up by deleting Emby's autogen NFO and replacing with it's own movie.nfo. Unchecked: Settings > Metadata > Kodi (XBMC) / Emby > Enable An it was strange because you have the "Use Movie.nfo" setting as well, which doesn't indicate it will delete existing nfo files. This threw me off as i was just expecting it to keep all nfo files, and Emby would use the nfo matching media file. This lead me to thinking it was Emby related since the Emby created file was deleting. Oh well, another reason not to go with nightly builds. Thanks for assistance!1 point
-
Radarr was causing issue. Their latest nightly build fixes. I can't find anything on their Discord, GitHub, Reddit, etc regarding this topic. However, I've turned off all metadata options, and will let Emby handle. Radarr Version 4.2.0.6237 Update Fixed: Wrong translation mapping can be used for file naming and metadata Translated fields are mapped incorrectly for existing search results1 point

Hello and thank you very much for this new version 1.035. I tested it and I can say that now the media buttons work again (play, stop, pause, forward, backward). I asked the opinion of the 3 other members of the family on the new visual of the app. In fact, the visual is very close to that of "emby theater". There are 2 suggestions that we would like to propose (2 points which are present in "emby theater" and not on the app) : - the end time information is no longer present, however we find it useful. - wouldn't it be better to move up the description of the video, rather than centering it vertically? I'm attaching 2 images to show what I'm talking about (one printscreen of emby theater, and one photo of the app on my tv). Thank you again for this great app. (Excuse me for my bad english, my native language is french)1 point

I just bought a new Chromecast with Google TV. The Emby app doesn't show as a result of an app search... Any idea what might be happening, the puzzling thing is that I do have Emby client installed in another Chromecast with Google TV... I am scratching my head...1 point

Also heavily interested in that! Like a "bucket list" to watch and not having to write huge posts with all the movie and series names in my calendar/tasks1 point

Updated to DSM 7.1 RC earlier today on my DS-918+ NAS. So far no issues with anything Emby related. No issues with Non-Emby related stuff either. I'll post back if that changes.1 point

I am using Roon for music but that is not working on android tv (nvidia shield) That is why i am trying emby, better support for those devices. I do not have find one solution platform that is performing good in all fields of music/movie streaming. @cayars I like integration with tidal/qobuz.1 point

I don't have expectations, I'd just like to acquire some. Getting them from the plugin dev is a better way of doing so than just making ones up.0 points
