*** Added a new piece of functionality. The interpreter dropdown now includes /bin/sh (just for cosmetic purposes), but also: sendmessage:sessionid. What does sendmessage:sessionid do? Allows you in the driver seat to send on-screen notifications to people using your media server when certain conditions are met - and all the variables and conditions are available to do so. My example below, onPlaybackStart, I want to tell my family member or media server user to enjoy the episode of a show they have chosen to watch. In my example, I obviously would check to make sure its a TV show. If its a movie, I'd have a different action that would say 'Hi there, please enjoy the movie' etc.. When using sendmessage:sessionid, the 'Run' (or 'script') box is the recipient of the notification, in this case, %session.id% which is the session.id of the session responsible for triggering this action, and 'Parameters' is simply the message I want to show on screen, with all the variables usable available for that particular action, for example %username%, %device.name%, etcetera. This will be available in 4.0.0.22 points

not yet. Something to understand for all. There will still be a plugin if the core doesn't allow for this, we will still have access to the data in the core so the plugin will still be able to give all the rich features that you are accustomed to thru the plugin.2 points

I would have expected auto skip to be included in the integrated version at the beginning. I hope it makes the cut before release.2 points
-
The integrated version is what you want to use. It will have the most features. We can always extend the integrated version to do the thing the test plugin had. Like editors, or even auto skip... If that is what people are missing. How intro skip integrates into emby right now is just the beginning of what is possible. This new path is definitely what we wanted to happen. It really is for the best. Or... you could continue to use the plugin, but I (personally) just don't want anyone left behind. The integrated version is so much faster at finding intros, and besides the button, it has found intros the plugin just wasn't able to. Like GOT... Man that first season was difficult to detect, but the new version has made quick work of it. It's pretty cool!2 points

Is this doable by some sort of plugin ? Maybe add your imdb credentials and then be able to rate movies here and have them on imdb as well (not talking about sorting here, just rating stuff)1 point

So basically this. I have TV Shows, Movies, and Anime libraries. For anime; I'd prefer to set the default to Japanese with Subtitles. For movies, English and no subs unless forced. For TV Shows, the same. However, Emby only allows one overall setting this for this, for all libraries, instead of just one. I think it'd be a pretty nice little feature.1 point

Guys, The ebook side of Emby/MediaBrowser has been long stalled or rather stagnated. I would like to offer up a couple of suggestions. Many people use calibre as an ebook/comic book tool for scraping data and general management of their collection already. This program is absolutely astonishing in its ability to pull metadata from post calibre scans, as well as draw in metadata from the file source and/or directory structure. http://vaemendis.net/ubooquity/ Its a self contained .jar server/reader combination. And honestly I am very impressed by it's small footprint and wide range of abilities. The other option is COPS , which was written specifically with calibre in mind. It is open source, so making it work with emby I would think would be fairly easy. https://blog.slucas.fr/projects/calibre-opds-php-server/ Ever since the original release of MediaBrowser's bookshelf I have always wanted something that would allow me to 'read' my collection, rather than being basically nothing more than a place-set for images of books I own. I am sure that those who mainly have audiobooks are thrilled with bookshelf , but it's nothing more than an extension of the music library IMHO, not new features. We can have both right? Here I give you two suggestions free of charge.. Just because I love you, and Emby Personally I plan on running the Ubooquity Server along side of Emby from now on, just because of it's massive functionality and tiny footprint. But I sure hope that someone decides -- "yeah, ebook support should be in here too" and do something about it - rather than allow this now very very ancient issue to continue to remain an issue. And so I don't have to have 20 different ports open, some with SSL support - some not, because Emby isn't delivering the 'complete package'. (Please take some of this with humor, I know you have your hands full with improvements/bugs/suggestions/requests)1 point

I moved from Plex to Emby and even though I think Emby is superior in its flexibility there are some things I like better with Plex, especially in terms of its looks. This theme is trying to fix that by making it a bit more similar to Plex but with some, in my opinion, improvements. The CSS is attached to this post for anyone interested and below are some screens to show it off Good to know I only use Chrome so I can't guarantee this CSS works as expected in other browsers. If you want the sidebar menu to look like in the screens, make sure to pin the sidebar. Watched badge/banderoll is inverted which means that the badge will not be shown if media have been watched, like in Plex. For desired look, please use the "Dark" theme for both Theme & Settings theme in the display settings. Emby-Stable-style-v3.6.txt1 point

The Mult-Select in the Server web app is super-useful (I'm so grateful to those that introduced me to it!). But given that the Server web app has some excellent filtering functions (eg, in my case I make use of filtering by Tags) it would be very handy to have a "Select All" functionality, so that I can filter down to the results I'm looking for and then easily add them to a Collection (or, when eventually we have Bulk Editing abilities, open a Bulk Edit view on all the Selected items). Thanks! PS - If this is something you might like to see implemented, be sure to "Like" this top/first post (as well as any subsequent posts in this thread that highlight particular aspects of what you are interested in) -- "Liking" the top/first post helps the Devs to know how much interest there is in a given Feature Request.1 point

The original plugin has ceased development, a new plugin is in development futher on in this thread. (re-using the thread as the plugin now does this and much more) Please go to the latest post for the newest updates Backup / Restore Actors - Beta with local or web based restore. This is by no means meant to replace the other addon for backing up Actors, it is simply an alternative with a different goal. I'm looking for a couple of testers (up to 50), I can supply my web based restore url for my actor database, so you can try restoring from mine and see if it adds any people to you collection. IT IS NOT A WEB SCRAPER!! It is ideally suited for an online collaboration, backup to your hdd/ssd drive , ftp them folder structure online some where, add to it via other peoples backups use a single url for downloads between the collaborators. You can use either a local disk to restore from, a web based server or a NAS. With a NAS you have more than 1 option. You can use it as a local backup/restore server. You can enable http services in your NAS, open the ports and allow others to restore their images directly from your NAS via your ip address. http://<yourip>:port/ , http://<your noip/dyndns>/, http://<your noip/dyndns>:port/ Backup to Local Drive (any that your machine can write to including smb) Restore from Local Backup Location Restore from Internet Location , ie a http:// location. The restore function will check your file/actor integrity and delete/repair corrupt files and associations even if it doesn't replace the image. if you use the restore function with a valid path but no backup, the app will run the integrity check and fix corrupt actors and placeholders, without restoring any images. Use / Share backups online to increase your Actors via collaboration Extracts into an IMDB structured folder Extracts into an TMDB structured folder Extracts unknowns in to Actors Folder Extracts Movie Titles into Folders with Actor Names Extracts TV Shows into folders with Actor Names Currently there is no stop button, or progress indicator other than minimal log output. However if you do NOT navigate away from the page it will update when its done. You must click "Save Settings" after changing anything to update the server. There is no liability offered or accepted, use completely at your own risk. Built with netstandard2.0 Its not been tested in any other environment than win 10 x64, but: It should be Linux compatible and It should work on all systems Emby runs on, linux or windows based. Still in development. Currently has not tested on any other machine than mine. Open to suggestions.1 point

Hi, duplicate tvg-id's are currently stripped but we plan to provide more control over this in future updates. thanks.1 point

I would really like to see the addition of HDR and Dolby Vision tags tags to the case. I love the ability for it to create all 4k cases but to the left or right of this add HDR or Dolbyvision. If it is a side case then have it on its side to the left/right of the 4k logo1 point

In short: only way to fix these files is re-encoding. None of the well knwon MP3 diagnostic/repair tools detect any issues with those files, so you cannot use them to repair them. Lossless editors (like mp3DirectCut) are too lossless, they seem to copy frames over exactly as they are. So even after some experimental cutting, unless you cut exact frames with those strange timestamp issues, files remain exactly as they are and Emby is unable to play them. At the end of the day, it is not an huge issue, but looks like Emby is great diagnostic tool as well. If something fishy is going on inside your mp3 files, you will know immediately1 point

The majority are just one-off different intros or whatever, nothing that would be picked up on either way.1 point

It doesn't matter, it's same accross any server platform. Read above.1 point

thanks for the tips @Luke and @FrostByte I think some of the the issue was having my music held on a separate network share and having Realtime scanning enabled. I have moved it to a more powerful server with the disk attached directly. I'll let it run and see if it resolves the problem.1 point

Yeah leave it with me a day or two. I did try already without luck. But will have more time to try and troubleshoot this later in the week.1 point

Hi, this isn't a surprise because the certificate is associated with the domain, right? Therefore it should only work with that.1 point

This change is for the 4.6 build. I haven't started the 4.7 yet. Yes, I'm no longer making those call since Emby is already doing that and caching it locally.1 point

Hi. Unfortunately, we also have to consider the costs and resources of us building and administering such a capability. We take advantage of these systems in the large app stores but also had to build and still maintain back end systems to make it all work. So, like everything else, it becomes a matter of resources and where we want to spend time - maintaining administrative systems to satisfy the payment requirements of things like this or continuing to enhance and support the actual system. I know this isn't a great solution but it is a reality at this point in time and there are a multitude of relatively cheap devices (Android, Roku, Amazon, etc.) that we do have supported apps on which can be a good solution until we are able to apply the necessary resources to these situations. Thanks for your understanding.1 point

Right, but the task is pretty quick. When the newest version has all the bells and whistles, we can do something. Right now we are seeing advancements in core integration, which (in my opinion) is what we have been striving for. We have to be patient. Emby has a lot of moving parts and, really, only two lead developers handling it all. It's exciting! It's going to be awesome!1 point

I've been having failed issues myself, had to: Revoke connection on Trakt Uninstall Trakt Plug-in Stop Emby server Delete the trakt xml file in the Plug in config folder Start Emby Install Trakt Plug in and restart Emby Reauth via the Plug in with the pin Hopefully this helps.1 point

@softworkz thank you for the in-depth analysis. Yes, re-encoding (or running via Audio editor) will fix these files, tested already. Unfortunately re-encoding MP3’es are not very good idea, due to the way lossy audio compression works. As there are some lossless audio editors available (they edit by frame and do direct frame copy), will look into these and report back, in case someone else runs into it. Fun fact, all the MP3 analysis and repair tools, consider these to be valid files. I did not look at the MPEG specifications either, but will do…it would be interesting to know. This does not seem to be very common though, considering that among the 80k tracks in my library, only 7 have this anomaly.1 point

I have tested this and yes it does what I wanted it to do1 point

We could probably just have that apply to video files only. Thanks for the feedback.1 point

Sounds like you only deleted it from his account so the other users shouldn't be affected.1 point

I've already started on it. When intro skip is added to the release candidate, I'll hopefully have auto skip ready. I'll make sure to ask if it can go in the catalog as well. I realize it is a fan favorite1 point

Hi, what exactly do you mean by "doesn't update correctly" ? Can you please describe this in more detail? Yes, and yes you could use our backup procedures to restore data from your WD install onto your laptop: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159936-backup1 point

Just to provide some insight on the analysis we did on the file. Here's a comparison of all the individual audio tracks that ffmpeg is detecting: It's not like that one of those streams would be "the right" one and the others being garbage. Multiple ranges of audio frames are attributed to different streams. It seems that the time stamps are pretty messed up. And each time when there's a discontinuity in timestamps, ffmpeg considers this as a new track: My guess is that pure audio players don't look at time stamps at all and are playing the audio frames simply in encoding order. This is an approach though, which isn't possible in cases where both, video and audio needs to be handled. Without timestamps, it's impossible to properly synchronize audio and video (which the container format allows), that's why ffmpeg is sensitive to those time stamps. I didn't investigate this down to the bottom, to whether the file is valid or invalid according to the MPEG specifications, but based on the fact that we haven't seen a file like this in many years, I can say that the file is probably invalid and if wasn't, it's still at least very unusual, despite the fact that it plays fine in some players.1 point

I was speaking with aaronsomek, the person who started this thread. As topic has reached over 30 pages, perhaps what we can do is jump into a chat. Then create a new thread when there is a working plugin. What do you guys think? If anyone in the future wants to join the PM, you can let us know below.1 point

This is just the way virtual tv works in 4.6. probably not worth troubleshooting until 4.7 is released as then it will be playing in a whole new way.1 point
