I'd like to see a feature where on a piece of content there was a button to report a playback error or such. I have a lot of content that I haven't watched that friends have requested - if there was a simple button they could click that pings me a message letting me know there's an issue with the file that'd be great.

One thing the streaming community hasn't done well is really create tools that allow us to simulate live TV well. I think the biggest reason that binging on Netflix (and Emby) is so popular is because you push a button and go. I'd like to see Emby create a "To Watch List" that basically allows you to sort shows into a specific order. When you watch that list, it will only play the most recent episode of each show in the list that premier inside that week. Lets pretend I made a DC TV Watch list, it would only play this weeks episode of Arrow, Flash, Legends, Supergirl and Gotham one after another. If an episode didn't premier that week, it gets skipped. Additionally, I'd like to see this system *ALSO* allow us to insert bumpers similar to Cartoon Network or Toonami. In the here and now, it would only insert bumpers between the series, but it would be nice if in the future, a system that allows some method for choosing the appropriate points between each act of an episode where bumpers could also be inserted. Bumpers would be a community thing to create, but inside the "to watch list", you'd choose what bumpers (if any) are used. Bumpers could even be surrounded by previews. Finally, another thought: while Emby already can pull Movie Trailers, it might be another cool future project if we could pull previews of related series not in the "To Watch List" and/or perhaps ones that aren't on your server that are similar to what you are watching. There's a lot of ideas in this post to digest and several should be their own project as part of this concept. Thoughts

@GiGo found it. When we added the keywords input to the configurations, it really sent a wave of bugs through the entire code. kind of a pain actually. I gutted it! I took out a bunch of code, and simplified everything. From my tests now, both new episodes, and existing episodes will sort. It went from almost 3500 lines of code in the episode sorter, to 1324 lines. Now at least you can follow the logic. Emby.AutoOrganize_v1.6.2.9b.zip But my head is starting to hurt LOL!

That is new. It looks like the task hasn't completed before the task runs again, and thinks it needs to remove the item and sort it. On it!

I also can no longer see my virtualtv channels on 4.7.0.35. They are completely gone.

Okay Luke - will test soon. But it looks like it was just the fact that I'm using an older version of Android TV and eventhough the button option is available for playback speed, evidently in that version it didn't actually work. As indicated, loaded 2070g (latest version) to another Android TV device and playback speed works. I'll load the Android Mobile just to test and report but I'm satisfied that the question has been answered.

So, after the latest update, my issue of there being a Dynasties (2018) in both TVShgows and TVShows-4k has taken a step backwards. Before, just the alert that is is duplicate was enough for me, now, is comes up with this : And if I click the organize button then i get to search for episode to identify - But you have identified it in the past releases (and the base release built into emby), just that is was in two places and you picked the wrong one (the 4k one). The series search both above comes up showing both series - (cant screen shot it as it is lost when I try the snip) - i.e you have two entries for Dynasties (2018), with no way of me knowing which one is which. You need the emby library in that search box also if you want it to work correctly - so I know which one is which. .

This is a plugin for emby, so the naming standards for emby should be utilised I would think. There is noting in these standards that supports that naming format, so i dont see why you should go above and beyond what emby itself requires/supports : https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159110-tv-naming If it works now in emby, as it is not in the supported format, no guarantee it will work in a future update. Ages back I moved and renamed all mine to match the emby requirements.

Yeah just remove the plugin. But don’t delete the titlessequence database. This is part of the core and uses its own storage system. You will have to go thru the motions of rescanning, so for test purposes try it on a small library. Westworld, simpsons, game of thrones, are good ones to try in your test library

Thanks, just seems a bit baffling as the FireStick app was only released on the 5th and the Android around 22nd March (If I'm correct?) But good to know it will end up working okay, hopefully not long. Really liking Emby other than this inconvenience

Hi guys, I use a docker container called "Duplicati", it backs up all my containers every few days. It may be worth looking into. If something goes pear shaped with a container or data base I can just restore the last backup and go from there. Personally I don't trust the Emby server backup plugin but that's just me I guess.

People/Cast and Crew come from first provider not all providers. Same discussion for everyone asking the same question when OMDB is first provider. Series Actors - TheTVDB.com You would have to have TMDB as first provider to pull all of those People. But the way TMDB does it is wrong as Series level will show all guest stars that should appear at episode level. So all of those people that appear in only one episode should never be at Series level in my opinion. And OMDB gives even less.

I would suggest (at this point) for new users to wait and not use this particular plugin. It was an early test of capabilities. There will most likely be major changes happening in the next little while that makes this plugin obsolete. It has been an amazing community driven project. The next iteration of an intro skip option, will most likely not have anything to do with this particular plugin, and will take the idea to the next level. Thanks to every person who took the time over the years to get things where they are today... Which is going to be amazing!

The direct file path is only an option for the Shield and Windows clients. With the Emby client, the Shield can direct play 100Mbit+ 4K remux's with HD Audio no issues at all - that's how I have mine setup and had had zero issues since emby enables this feature in 2020 (ish). There is no need for the Kodi client at all - the Emby client plays everything - incl DV - with native Screen Refresh rate switching etc. If you press and hold the middle button on the Shield TV remote, you'll get up a feature called stats for nerds (also available via the menu's) - on it you'll see streaming method - you want it to say 'File'. if it says 'HTTP' then it is streaming via Emby server - which is sub optimal. A long press on the button removes it again.

Just giving this a bit of a bump as it's been a year. With 4K, HDR and Atmos now much more popular in the industry, I think the lack of these tags for each media item is now well overdue and should be shown alongside the rating, resolution, audio and channels. Stats for nerds should show this info as well.

The bigger issue here is that Netflix is never going to allow us direct access to their content.
