  1. Holy mackerel! I finally did it! I finally got the File organizer to honor the target location for a file. I don't know why it was so hard., But it was. But... Now we have to make sure to stop sorting of series that span multiple destinations folders. I almost gave up. I just have to fix whatever @TheUrbanXplorer is experiencing.

  2. They replied this week, they want us to write a demo app to prove it to them! I'll try and adapt one of their sample apps

  3. I hit "play all" on a collection and it doesn't show the next film in "Next Up" after I quit out of it. This is apparently intended behaviour, and the same applies to playlists. This is absurd. Why even have the "play all" option? Who's sitting down to watch a full collection's worth of films, or a full playlist? I have playlists for The Prisoner for its various episode orders, and there's no way I'm getting through them in one sitting. I was going to make that my next show to watch but if I'm going to have to keep track manually of my progress through the playlist it makes the playlist fairly pointless TBH. There's no reason playlists or collections shouldn't show up in Next Up.

  4. One thing that I would like to see implemented is the abilty to display lyrics in all of the apps. For those of us who have libraries with lyrics embedded in the actual files, it would be trivial. Simply scrape the lyrics from the lyrics tag and display them. As far as scraping from online lyrics databases, I don't see that working very well as just about every app that I have seen use it either doesn't get the correct lyrics or they are truncated with an add for the website.

  5. It appears that any playlist that any user creates is public--all other users can see it. I can appreciate the benefit of a public playlist. I could create a playlist called "Harv's Favorite Horror Films" for example, in case other users are interested in checking out what I like. However, the way most of my users are using playlists is to keep track of things they want to watch in the future. They are typically things that the user has not watched yet, so it's not meant as a recommendation to others, just as a way of them personally keeping track of what they want to watch. Having that kind of playlist be public is of questionable benefit to other users. Additionally, it is not clear when you create a playlist that other users will be able to see it. That has the potential to cause some embarrassment. He hasn't created one yet, but I wouldn't want to see my nephew's "movies to fap to" playlist, for example. If I could make a suggestion, I would suggest associating each playlist with the user who created it, and giving that user the ability to make the playlist private or public. For example, the following two checkboxes could be shown when creating or editing a playlist: Allow other users to see this playlist Allow other users to edit this playlist Initially, both checkboxes would be unchecked. Since another user cannot edit a playlist they cannot see, the second would be allowed to be checked only if the first were also checked. (You could grey it out to make that clear.) Depending on your UI preference, it could also be a drop-down menu. Playlist visibility: (Only me | all users can view | all users can view and edit) Thanks for considering this.

  6. 4.6.7.0 If from any item Detail view an actor is selected, backdrop of selected item is shown on Actor page; selecting See All on either Movies or Shows to list all and subsequent Back to Actor page causes background to remain single-color and item backdrop is not reloaded. Same behaviour observed on 4.7+ beta.

  7. Thanks a lot, that's just fine. I'm really sorry for the bad experience. We'll be working with Intel to find out the reason for those issues! Thanks again!

  8. Yes, the Ring of Death is gone, the display is back! But it's true. The files are shown as sorted, but are not sorted and are logically there again at the next scan.... But at least I can see that now!

  9. WAIT A MIN!!!!! Think there may be a bit of a problem....... Just checked my watch folder and all the files it says it's sorted that weren't the duplicate files, ie new files have not been moved even tho Auto Organize said they had been, they are still in my watch folder and not being recognised by the plugin even after a restart. Might roll back to the last version.

  10. Hooray! it doesn't do that yet. I was just thinking about how to do that. currently you'd have to select the folder each time. Just have to think about how to keep the selection. probably in the smart match list.

  11. I have fixed the spinning circle of death @TheUrbanXplorer. @GiGo When a series spans multiple folders/drives. We will stop sorting. It will be left up to the user to decide where the file goes. I'm not sure this is exactly perfect yet. The code was extremely difficult to get this working without breaking everything so far. 12. Unfortunately you have to change the config at one common location (one config file) + at every library location (one additional config file per library)

  13. Hi. If you do not wish for the video to stop then we have the option to not exit to the screen saver. If we allow exit to the screen saver with video paused then it could stay like that indefinitely because the app doesn't know it has gone to a screen saver. From the app's perspective, we have just been moved to the background. The same thing would happen if you went directly to another app or the device home screen. So, the best thing for us to do in that case is "clean up" to a more stable state than sitting paused on a video. Even in that case, the "Resume" button is in focus so a single button press gets right back where you were.

  14. That would be awesome for people like me, without deep knowledge.

  15. Oh Hey! Nice! I didn't realize that existed. I was looking for somewhere to download them manually on the website like I did for the smart playlist plugin. I will be digging through the catalog now that I know it exists. Thanks! For some of my shows that's true, but for others (Jackie Chan Adventures, Gargoyles) it seems to have scraped them from somewhere - or at least scraped them at the show level and then baked them into the episode NFOs, making me delete them from each episode. I didn't already have NFOs from somewhere else, I'm migrating from plex and did not have any sort of NFO Export plugin or the like, so this migrating process is involving redoing all of my metadata as I do it. I don't know why some of the episodes have genres and others don't. That'll Do. I can work with that. Thanks for pointing out where I need to look. Unfortunate. And Done. Good to Know. I thought it might be a thing with no corresponding UI feature, that I might be able to get around by setting up my files a particular way (like copying a playlist file into a season folder, or something similar). As mentioned I got the idea when I accidentally made one marvel trilogy dummy show show up as episodes inside another marvel trilogy dummy show. I guess I'll end up using some mishmash of dummy shows like I'm doing for movie series and smart playlists as a workaround in the meantime. I can turn a smart playlist into something like a 'Next-Up' with some clever set up of filters, but then it does everything based on the "played" status of a specific user, and doesn't update right away, and it's a bit buggy. A single giant sprawling MCU dummy show with everything in it would be impractically large to manage, so for that I think I will have to use something with smart playlists as a workaround, but a combined dummy show could work for something like Buffy and Angel or Stargate where it's only a couple shows that go back and forth by airdate - a bit annoying to set up, but not as crazy as for something like the DCAU or MCU. Thanks.

  17. Hi @chef - did you get anywhere on the Plugin for this (re our 'Recommendations PM's) - Yes it won't be a full screen poster (and never will be, unless custom designed or a strip copied out a background) but using existing 'banners' works pretty well to give you 2-3 'spotlight' items - which look very different from the other posters on the main page. Maybe lets re-engage on that ?

21. I stand corrected then. It did bug me that it was doing that, and learnt to live with it, I just assumed it was because of the way it was identified on TVDB.

  22. This will be in the upcoming Emby Server 4.7 release. Thanks.

  23. Yeah, but that's different scenario, as it is again inheriting backdrop from previous item/single level (Movie B), same as it is inheriting it when you originally selected actor (Movie A). Which I reckon is actually a case that also occurs from See All, inheriting no backdrop, as All Movies/Shows page has none. Hence suggestion for random if "remembering" 2 levels prior (as it is what is needed) ain't feasible.

  24. I would love something that tracks in-progress shows across platforms. After a long day when the wife and I just want to sit down and relax I end up flipping through Disney, Amazon, Netflix, Emby, Pluto, and Hulu trying to remember 1) what show we left off on last night -and- 2) which service it was on! I'm starting to download items I have available on one of the other platforms just so it's available in Emby and I only have to check there. It's getting to the point where we need a different streaming service for every.single.TV.show we want to watch, which is SOOOOO annoying! We haven't even put Peacock in the rotation or any of the other Roku apps. I work IT support too, so at the end of the day the last thing I want to do is troubleshoot my TV or do more IT magic to make it work.

  27. I use this to change header space (will run into issues on narrow/small screens) /*Move HeaderTop up*/ div.headerMiddle.sectionTabs:not(div.skinHeader-withfulldrawer div.headerMiddle.sectionTabs) { position: absolute; left: 50%; margin-right: -50%; transform: translate(-50%, 0); } 2) has to be adjusted in js files do to the addition of virtual scrolling per the other topic. And possibly item limit.

  28. Genres are global not per library in Emby's /metadata/genres folder.

  29. Okay, so the only reason we have stayed silent on the details until now is because we think that our users complaining to Google about the issue may only make matters worse. So, please, do not complain directly to Google. Let us deal with this through proper channels. I have had discussions related to both our device limits and certain features that we feel cater directly to only the illegal use of our platform with many users and stated how the store operators have all the power. We can be removed at a whim by any of them. Many of you have argued with me that that is a silly concern. I've also pointed out how the stores don't fully understand what we are and, in many cases, just don't care to. The net of the current situation is that someone was discovered using our platform to distribute content illegally. The owner of the content reported our app as violating their copyright and Google immediately suspended us. No matter that we are not responsible for this nor does our app actually provide any content. With the very vague understanding of these details by the people in charge, the mere hint of anything "off" is enough. We have recourse, supposedly, but they have a rather long time to respond to it. We should be nearing the end of that time and will, hopefully, be re-instated soon. If not, we'll have to see what our next steps are to prove to them that our app is not hosting this content. I'll re-iterate - a bunch of our users complaining will likely just make matters worse so please do not do that. We will let you know when we have any more information. Google has been completely silent for almost two weeks now. Thanks.

  30. There is a Halloween spotlight that can be used for this as a starting point. Also this feature was requested million times already for all emby clients. This should be prioritized and delivered.

  31. Are there any updates regarding a Featured / Spotlight section? This is something that I have been wanting for my server for awhile now to better inform my users of new larger titles that have been added. I also made a mockup concept image just to see how it would it could look.

  34. Ok. Then Emby store it's files different than eg. Plex app and other media apps. eg. Plex store offline files in a protected data directory that only a app (Plex) can access. (At least on Android) So that users don't have access to the files without root and some tech skills. That is way i asked for this feature to disabling download from browser, but keeping the option to sync/Download to app.

  36. While they're working on this feature, the workaround is to attach a custom tag to the metadata of a playlist, then restrict all other users from accessing that tag in the parental controls. Not the easiest, but it makes it functional for now. The way I do this is I attach use the usernames as the tags. So my each user's parental controls block a list of tags including all other usernames. Which brings me to a problem with the current android app... @@Luke, it doesn't allow us to edit the metadata of actual playlists. Web UI seems to allow that, but the option is missing from the long-press menu and the "...More" menu inside the playlist.

  39. Hello, I find issues with this as far back as 2017. Almost three years, and we still dont have a way to make playlists and collections private? It seems odd that anyone on the server would be allowed to just delete any playlist or collection? Is this still in the works?
    1 point
  40. This hasn't changed yet. We need to revamp playlist permissions and sharing in a future update. What is fixed though is that users will only be able to see playlists that have content in the libraries they have access to.

  41. I'm not trying to convince you of anything or solve the thread. I was replying to someone else with a suggestion that might improve their specific situation.
