Hi, I noticed that if I have multiple separate episodes of a TV show showing up in Continue Watching, and I remove one of the episodes, all the episodes will be removed. This seems like a bug to me. Thanks

That's entirely up to you. You can (1) split the libraries up so that each user (even using the same login) can choose which to look at - or (2) if you give the users separate logins, you can restrict which libraries each login sees; or you can (3) divide the media into multiple folders of each type, then specify all the folders of that type to be part of the same library, and then restrict (different) users' access to the folders as required - that way, if logged in as themselves, they will see the same libraries as you, but with restricted contents. Or you can (4) keep everything together, but tag some media and show your user how to select only tagged media (e.g. tagged with their name) to be shown. You choose. Paul

Hi, it's a neat idea but the cost of that would add up. I don't see that as something we'd be able to include in Emby Premiere. Assuming you bear all of the costs for your own usage, wouldn't it be cheaper just to upgrade your server? Because you not only need to pay their costs, but you need adequate upload bandwidth to be able to stream to their cloud transcoding api on the fly.

I moved from Plex to Emby and even though I think Emby is superior in its flexibility there are some things I like better with Plex, especially in terms of its looks. This theme is trying to fix that by making it a bit more similar to Plex but with some, in my opinion, improvements. What? You always overcomplicate things. It could be so easy. In case of audio the button would just switch to the next audio stream, in case of subtitles it's the same plus a disabled state.

Oh and specifically with this, it is the new regex that attempts to read media type. The 1x01 is being interpreted as a movie. So, I know exactly where to look and how to how to fix this. Once we get it reading as an episode, it will be fixed. Amazing work!

That's okay. I'm glad we have this to fix. It's in the regex. The original regex had this problem. Now is a great time to fix it. Again, regex issues. This is a perfect time to find a regex that will match these properly. Ive got my trusty regex tester ready to write!

Ok, no problem. This has only come up a couple of times for me, so as long as I know I can manually re-add shows to the continue watching row if needed.

Global search isn't the big draw with this feature, it's the ability to search globally (including within Plex libraries) and add to a WATCHLIST. Your watchlist can effectively be a library with content from ALL services. It's essentially what we're suggesting within this request. A single platform to combine all of our content whether it's on our servers or on a streaming service. Does that make sense? The global search aspect of it isn't all that compelling. It's the watchlist of streaming services combined with personal libraries.

Emby would need a proper watchlist first.

Yesterday, much of the east coast was slammed with storms. We had fires caused by blown down transformers, ambulances were going everywhere, and wind was reaching 50 MPH at times. Of course, my internet went down during this time so it made it difficult to check the weather and follow the news. But luckily, I have an OTA antenna connected with a HDHomeRun device to Emby, which is all on large battery backups. I got on Emby to check the weather to make sure there weren't any known tornadoes in my area and much to my surprise, despite having Emby Premiere for years now, I was told I need to get it to access Live TV from my phone and desktop. I don't use it often, I mostly use emby on our Samsung TV, which our kids were using to watch Emby because the internet got knocked out. My question is, is there any way I can avoid this in the future? How can I be sure that when the internet goes out, I can still access emby. I have had an Emby Premiere Perpetual license for years now and when I needed it the most, it failed. I also remember a time when the activation server went wonky a few years ago and it caused everyone's Emby to hang. On a side note, the Samsung TV app seemed to hang every few seconds, I assume that is not related as I have been having a few other issues in my lab. But wanted to ask if it could be related.

Yes, I've seen this too. They call it "Discover". It's pretty much exactly how you figure they would integrate this, of course getting a commissions on rentals or new signups. They basically gave you "Just Watch" in a Plex app. I still think this could be rather cool if done right in Emby so it blends in and becomes part of the experience vs putting rentals and/or ads on screen. For example it should only use services the user personally selects or services selected by the admin that are free to use.

Hey, Just for notice, this is the function that would made me go emby premiere. When you have a decent iptv provider and an iptv app providing catch-up support, you don't have to think anymore to record anything, because you have 15 days (in my case) where all your tv programs are accessible, and it does not use disk space. For the moment i have to use a standelone iptv app and an other for my media. I hope one day i can have an app that can handle all my medias and my live tv including catch-up !

Hey - few hints: if this is new installation, move to TrueNAS 12.x since this is current, FreeNAS is decomissioned for general help with FreeBSD driver installation - try FreeBSD forums for general help with driver installation specifically in TrueNAS - try TrueNAS forums When you have that figured out, come back here and we can try enable HW acceleration with Emby. I'm gonna go through the same path with the Quadro I'm waiting for, but I may end up just starting a Linux VM inside TrueNAS and pass through the PCI ID of my GPU inside. That would be a shame though.

I see that you were able to login using XC. Did you extract the m3u from your XC login? Or did your provider provide an m3u. A lot are getting away from providing them.

yes bro, it is all done, emby service develiered a perfect to my home. i really enjoy it, but when i play 4k movie and it has a little bit laggy, maybe i should buy premiere service.

My two cents, I have the same problem. When I disconnect my Thrusmaster TS-XW usb gaming wheel, the problem dissapears.

@seanbuff 48 hrs ago, I've switched off real time monitoring on my tv shows library and after that, a reboot of the computer (just restarting Emby from Dashboard didnt cut it). As a result, I have ceased to experience constant tv shows library scanning. Oddly enough, I continue to benefit from RTM even though I've switched it off. Can you try this on your side ? (switching off rtm for your affected library, restarting your computer, then add new content and passively monitor Latest TV Shows to see if new content appears within minutes)

Another thing to consider, These IPTV Providers have figured out that users want to "share" their Streams on Media Players like Emby, and have cleverly figured out ways to make it tough to do on Media Players. Something to consider also.

I use Windows 11 (not a Server Platform) and Trim the channels down to 400, but yea, it works fine, as a matter of fact, Emby is Written for Windows.

If your trying to load 100k channels, it may be a little slow but I've never seen your kind of slowness.

Okay there is a language issue somewhere on your setup as the TVDB queries have the same issue. But do not know if that is related to the loop as librarymonitor should be detecting change. OK, thanks, this is probably the key to this issue. It appears to be a driver bug. Are there any additional i915 messages, e.g. about GuC and HuC? (like here https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/intel/-/issues/5279) Could you please try to enable HuC authentication by adding the kernel parameter i915.enable_guc=2 as described here https://01.org/linuxgraphics/downloads/firmware ? (then reboot) There are indications that this might be a bug specific to decoding. After trying the above, could you please try to disable all HW decoders, so hwa will only be used for encoding and try whether this causes the same situation? Thanks

There is movement in this area. Just very recently I had began to work on a "Test Video Factory" for generating various kinds of uncopyrighted videos for testing. Here's an example: Emby_TestVideo_x264_r25_g75_3840x2160_r1.zip One advantage of these is that the content can be compressed pretty well, which results in small file sizes. With regards, to benchmarking, the simple content shouldn't affect processing performance, I'm not sure about encoding and decoding performance, though. Maybe you could do some tests to see how this compares to "normal" videos? Should it turn out that this content would cause distorted performance results, we'd need to see whether we can find something different (e.g. morphing fractals or similar). Finally, there are also plans for having some automated execution of transcoding, probably delivered as a plugin. While the primary purpose is performing system tests on various platforms, the results would also be suitable for measuring performance.

I would like to add something on this. Even if you insist to install Emby to a user folder (it can be avoided if the installer gives the proper permisions, I mean with modern installers not the installer Emby still uses from the Mediabrowser days) Emby is not installed to the proper location according to Windows documentation. Installing a program to AppData folder is just the wrong place to install it, this is the folder for the data of a program not the files of the program. %LocalAppData%\Programs is the default folder to "install programs for a single user only" in MS Windows. It's been available since Windows 7/Windows Server 2008 R2 and the proper location to install software per user according to Microsoft documentation for Windows.

I'm not so sure it was directly relative to the browser cache, unless there's another cache I'm unaware of within the server itself. I had tried to clear my browser cache which didn't have any change to the behavior. after which I did try a couple of different browsers, as well as the Emby Theatre App. All of them displayed the same problem. Even restarting just the Emby services oddly wasn't enough to resolve the problem. My IT brain told me, heck why not try restarting the whole system though and sure enough that did it! So far, I'm really appreciating the plugin. I look forward to when that awesome button that was teased earlier is available! Thanks for all the effort everyone is putting in.

Hi Team, I figured it out. It seems to be under the libary settings & the min resume and max resume percentage settings. For instance, if i started an audiobook and then stopped it, it wouldn't recognise it. Adjusted to these and now its showing every time

Hi, i noticed that Emby App for Android seems to only supports viewing videos in landscape. Is there an option to rotate the screen 90 degrees or do i need to get external player for that ?

@softworkzGot it thanks. I would make a simple suggestion. I see no reason NOT to change all the yadif parameters to send field, rather than the default send frame. Everything that gets transcoded is transcoded to progressive format, so the default in the server should ALWAYS be send field. Progressive sources will maintain their frame rates, and interlaced ones will go to the appropriate double frame rate. This should be hardcoded into the next server update. Thanks!
