@Luke @SamES yes i ran the portable install 4.6.7 on the same server and no issues audio everything seemed to work ill do some more testing tomorrow but so far works on 4.6.7. also seemed to fix No audio when playing transcoded files - Samsung Smart TV - Emby Community and this issue also

I'm a plex life time member, but I have been using Emby for over six years continuously, but there is a feature which I have always thought is missing in Emby which I would like and encourage the developer to consider including especially in this dispensation where families can social or commingle due to COVID 19. Today, I received a notification from Plex about it new feature titled Watch together you can read about it here https://support.plex.tv/articles/watch-together/ The feature allows friends and families at distance to watch same movies together instantly, you simply invite all your buddy, once they signed to the system which can be seeing in the server then play and pause as needed, this I think is cool feature should be added to emby. So the Steam Deck is pretty hyped now. They showed it as a streaming device in some videos today. It's powerful enough to play pretty much anything directly, heck it could even be a server quite easily with it's specs. A lot of people got to talking and now people are saying Plex is going to release a version to Steam so that it'd just run through that and play onto SteamOS without the user having to muck about outside of Valves ecosystem. There are plenty of free tools / video players in Steams Software section, so it'd be a pretty neat little thing I imagine.

I'd like to have the option to clear 'alerts' in the dashboard. I realize that they go away on their own, but if I can clear them then it's more obvious IF a new alert comes through.

Hello, is there any way to disable joystick inputs other than unplugging the device? I have a HOTAS setup (Flightsimulator Stick and Throttle) and its input is recognised by Emby Theater and the Stick or Throttle (or both) often send input that will mute, fast forward, stop playback or do other unwanted actions. This is extremely annoying especially when i play games like elite dangerous while i want to watch / listen to some of my Video/Audio content. Or when i simply don't want to get my ass up from the couch and walk over to PC to unplug them :-) . - when i unplug the devices these issues instantly disappear. - similar issues with emby web app, so this is no workaround (issues also disappearing as soon as i unplug the HOTAS) I have installed the latest Version of Emby Theater 2 days ago.

visproduction, Thank you! What helped is the full URL you provided. It actually turns into http://localhost:8096/web/index.html#!/index.html when I click on the link you provided. This has happened before a couple of times but I've always used http://ipaddress:8096 and I don't have any other servers running on this machine where I would use localhost. I had already turned off all my add-ons/plugins. I had already cleared all my cache and cookies yesterday. Its very odd. Thank you again for the idea of the full URL as a way to force it to open. Also, I tired it outside the network with my office Samsung TV and the server is running on V4.6.7 and no issues with audio on transcode and freezing

I didn't say it could not stream 4K Video, I said it may not be able to stream 40+Mbit 4K Videos's It is a 4K streaming device - typically 20 Mbit max (Netflix). UHD Remux's run @ 40-100Mbit/sec .. thus potentially way beyond the capabilities of this device. The LG (and many other devices) can handle this bitrate without issues - thus they work ok. I don't know for sure if this is it's limit - it doesn't say - but it it's starts to fail around this mark on all the video's you have tried - then it's looking to be the issue.

I use Trakt with Kodi and love it for the forecasting out a week for up-coming episodes and shows. I add the shows either on the Trakt site or in Kodi. What I watch in Kodi is slightly different than what is in my library. Not sure if it would be a fit for my setup, but good information. Thank you.

Encountered exact same issue on iPad Mini 5 now, lots of artefacts during playback. On all other devices, same Movie works just fine, so does the same file via VLC, so I don't think video itself is corrupt. Will submit logs shortly after I have done some additional testing, to make 100% sure it was not encoding problem on my side.

Yes, and if you use multiple platforms like Plex and Emby, you can watch in one and it'll sync to the other. Plus, it makes it easier to migrate to a different platform in the future if needed. I also like how you can can see latest watched episodes and movies at trakt.tv as well as keep track of upcoming shows and movies.

Thanks for your work. But I have a small problem. if I want to assign a movie or a series, I have to assign once the whole thing again, because otherwise somehow nothing works. But take a look Mein Film 1.mp4

If it is just adding both The Hardy Boys and The Hardy Boys (2020) directories to the same show, how would I do that for the individual folder though? NEVERMIND!!!!!! I didn't realize that the Metadata Manager listed the two folders individually. It has been a few years since I had to go into that. Thanks!!!!!!!

Sounds like your browser has a different URL stored in it's Cache and since a link ending in :8096 is not a standard URL, the browser finds the last URL that starts with your localhost link and adds in the link that last worked. You can get to the menu page by entering the full correct link: http://localhost:8096/web/index.html# To stop this from happening again, you need to clear your cache. There is a shortcut for Chrome. From any browser page click [Shift] [Ctrl] [del] together. Hope that helps.

Quick update here regarding the plugin. As @ttgapers has brought to my attention, (currently) movies must have a year in the file name in order to handle sorting. I'm going to change this, so a year is not absolutely necessary for a movie file to sort. However, if at all possible, the production year of the movie in the file name would help the logic target the file as a movie much easier. So, if users can have a year present in the file name, it would be the best, but won't be necessary. Episodes must have the season, and episode numbers they belong to in the file name, so that the sorting logic will know what to do with them. (If your recording DVR can naming them: MySeries.S01E02.ts, or MySeries.1x02.ts the sorting method will know where to put them in the library). I'll be back with an update! Thank so much ttgapers! Hi @chef I tried this release but it isn't "saving" any of my folders to be monitored, and therefore moves nothing lol. Tried all above and even removing the old fileorg.db. Rolled back for now. Wondering if resolution can be added for TV episodes also. I have some mixed 720p/4K episodes for some key shows. Thanks for all your efforts!

In the meantime, I did find out, that library paths are not editable once set. One could add a new path and than delete the old one, which leads to rescan and new entries. The behaviour of watched states, meta-info and images are than depending on settings of the library. Unless images are stored separately (in the related folder(s)) and there are also .nfo-files present, everything stays (pretty much) the same. If images are stored in the db (which makes a lot of sense, if you have your meta on an ssd and the media files on an hdd), this would lead to a complete rescan with replacing all images. Same for meta if no .nfo is present. Still not sure, how watched-states get handled. Not really what I was hoping for … Would have been a dream (and really easy), to be able just to adjust the library paths without any other changes being made. Honestly, I do not understand, why there is no option to do so. Maybe someone would like to explain this to me. Anyway @CassTG, thank you for your answer

If you want send me a PM (hover over my avatar for message link) with the address you'll be installing it along with the height you think you'll be able to mount the antenna outside. Give me the bottom of the antenna to the ground. I can then run a frequency report that takes into account hills, valleys, building and anything that would screw up receiving the signal. We should be able to get signal strength for every station in your area that way. Then once we know how far the broadcast tower are, what frequency bands each channel is (VHF-LOW, VHF-HI, UHF) and what compass direction they are we can put a game plan together. If you're only 15 to 20 miles is pretty easy. Getting to 40 miles and you need to get things right. I've got one set of antennas pointed to Philadelphia where towers are 42 to 45 miles, One point almost due east toward Atlantic City for one station and it's subs and a dual antenna pointed south west that gets me most of the Baltimore stations as well as 2 Washington DC stations. The DC stations are really pushing it at about 72 miles and only work about 80 to 85% of the time. I worked really hard for those stations but wanted them years ago for NFL games. Now with (cough) other methods to get specific channels I'd probably not do that one again. I'm not fond of heights climbing and lugging two antennas and installing them 65' up was pretty nerve wracking and exhausting. If I had to do it again I'd cut the 3 trees down that grew up and block any attempt to lower the tower.

First what version of DSM do you have installed?

IMDB has no influence there, as nothing is scraped from it. However, both TVDB and TMDB list those episodes with those exact names as Season 22: https://thetvdb.com/series/ghost-adventures/seasons/official/22 https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/17937-ghost-adventures/season/22 And that is what you should do: rename all those as S22Exx and all metadata should be populated accordingly, irrespective of your preferred scraper.

Is there a way to set a simultaneous connection limit for each user. I share my server with family and a few friends and sometimes I see a couple with 2 or more active streams from different clients under their user and I would like to limit this to 1 connection per user for them. I don't think you need to change anything since it seems to work, but the files are mpegts and most systems apply the .ts file extension. .ts is an mpeg-2 format. If there is a way to configure your service to supply that extension it might work a little better. But when I looked on one of the forums for Channels DVR it appears that the system looks for .mpg files when you use it to delete files. If you switch to another extension you won't be able to use that feature. Also, if you use Handbrake it will create an MKV file (or, you could set the CLI to make an .mp4 if you wish), and it looks like Channels DVR won't recognize that if you want to use the deletion feature.

Hi, just came across the fact that it's possible to login (and stream) multiple times with the same account!? I see the need for a feature that helps to control / prevent this. The thought that somebody may give away his/her logindata to somebody else and then multiple users login and stream at the same time with the same account does not feel good at all. It would be nice to have the oppurtunity to control this via management > users. Maybe to allow/disallow certain accounts the multi-login and/or multi-stream. Would that be possible? Is that a feature you (like myself) would consider a must-have? thanks Soki
