When watching a movie or TV show, it has always annoyed me that the title/name is literally on there twice.....one as standard text and the logo on the top left. See example. How hard would it be to eliminate the standard text and move the logo down to replace it? Of course standard text would be utilized if no logo exists. Hopefully this can be implemented across all clients!

Made a few images for TV Networks based on my Network list. They are all mainly grabbed from logopedia, all believed to be 'free to use', will place them in a ZIP on a google drive if people want to download them, nothing special, I have not created the images, just placed them in a 16:9 frame for use with Emby there is 136 images. https://1bestlinks.net/TVNetworks1 (updated link) Samples below;

I'm posting here to gauge interest in this potential tool/utility - I use it for my parents and it works really well - but to be useful for the masses, it will need some more time spent on developing the code to make it more universal. However, before doing that, I wanted to see if this is useful as I don't want to waste my time.. What does it do ? It creates a 'Recommendations' library for each user based on items added to a Recommendations playlist. This library is then displayed in the usual 'Latest' list. As items are watched, they disappear off the list. Example (Actual) screen grab - (note 'Recommendations Row') How does it work ? A new library is setup and each user plus a global entry is given their own folder :- In these folders will be links (STRM files) to the real media. These are automatically created on a schedule via a standard playlist file (see below). Individual user based permissions can be applied to these folders - therefore, personalised recommendation lists can be created or globally set if added to the global recommendation playlist. So for this user - they will just see Recommendations for Rich and Global. The Recommendations 'library' needs to go to the top of the list for it to be easily visible :- Note - if there is nothing in the Recommendation library for that user (ie it is empty) - then the Row will not be shown. How do I flag an item as a Recommendation and to whom ? The script pulls the recommendation file locations from the XML playlist - thus you can just use the normal emby playlist functions to add or remove recommendations and add them to the relevant playlist. Anybody can add any entry to any playlist (as playlists are not permissioned), so be wary of that.. If you want everybody to see the Recommendation - then just add it to the Global Recommendation playlist. How often does it update ? Currently my script just runs every night and automatically creates any new entries added to the playlists. Now the initial library and playlist setup is done, this is now fully automated for me - I just add recommendations to the playlist and the following day it appears on those users screens. ... Of course, if emby allowed a playlist to have permissions and allowed it to be shown on the main screen in a row, then there would be no need for these scripts to hack a 'virtual' library... Any thoughts ? Is this worth progressing to make the initial setup more automated ?

I have all my music arranged according to genre. I've imported them accordingly, and made a few icons for each as a start. I plan to do more at some point, but here is what I have for now. The Jukebox one is just mixes that I have put together and saved as one giant mp3 file, for ease of use for my parents.

Would be cool to add a feature that prevent to have incomplete recording in library could add a option to not keep content below a certain percentage of time. It happen often that m3u fail and i miss 30 minutes and more of a recording

Got bored and wanted to get back into making things in photoshop so i decided to make a few apple tv themed library icons to add a bit of colour to my server, it has been awhile since i worked in photoshop but luckily apples designs for their icons are pretty simple and easy to replicate. I have roughly 500 mkv movies and 300 photos. I can scroll them all at full speed and they populate the screen with zero lag. Selecting a movie is instant. Maybe 2 seconds tops for a movie to begin playing once I hit play. So yea, for me, it has significantly increased browsing and accessing media. I had a few 4k movies that would stutter a little and take a few seconds to buffer, and I haven't experienced any of that since the upgrade. I don't do TV through Emby, so no comment there. I'm about to open my Emby server up to others which will require transcoding of my 4k stuff, so we'll see how that goes. This is why I wanted to do this upgrade, so when outside users watch a movie, their needs, won't impact me while I'm watching something. Highly recommended "easy" upgrade that is worth the price of a 500Gb NVMe. Again, most grateful to you Carlo, for putting so much R&D time and sharing your efforts! Thanks, also ignore the comment about fixing Seen/Unseen as Grim mentioned Notifiarr notifications already tell them apart. I was just mentioning what i saw earlier in the thread. So really it is just favorite/unfavorite that it cant tell apart. And the lack of any information in the plugin payloads and the restart pending payload.

Hmm, that doesn't clarify the question at all. I would need to know the answer before i can consider it. For a user who has Stop and Pause enabled, i dont need to double send them. If they dont have stop enabled but do have pause then it can send them. So if PlaybackInfo.PositionTicks is current ticks then this will work to eliminate a needless notification. Sidenotes: Can you fix Server.Name to be actually right instead of "Emby Server" or just flat out missing in some webhooks? Can you add a flag to differentiate favorite/unfavorite? Can you add a flag to differentiate seen/unseen?

Is PlaybackInfo.PositionTicks supposed to be the current ticks or overall ticks? If it is current ticks then i can look at RunTimeTicks and compare to it with the pause notifications and skip them if they are the same since it is immediately followed by a stop hook.

@Delor3an91 what are you using as the URL to connect to your server? I asked this a ways back as I want to make sure you're using the format "emby.domain.ext" and not something like "domain.ext/emby" which will not work. If you're doing that, it would explain why all the apps fail but the browser still works. So could you clarify that for us. If it's not that, can you give us more info to go such as incoming ports to external ports, etc... Or could we possibly do a remote support session and get a first hand look at your setup and try to help you out? Carlo

I am guessing your previous \Emby Backup - xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx - Auto\library\Collections\options.xml had a path to old/previous location then.

Ideally you want to manually backup most of the /metadata folder as it contains collection, genre, studio, people, ect. To truly have a back of Emby it would be the entire data path location listed in a server log. Windows would be C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata But the plugin gives you the basic for a NEW Install/clean start, so it depends on what you are trying to do. But any cross platform restoring will be problematic as paths in database will change so you basically are starting over.

The path should not exist as it is obsolete. That being said this can not be a fresh install. Ok now i'm sure, Mac Studio with M1 ULTRA will be the best server for my Emby. I hope so will be fully optimized for Apple Silicon architecture from "end to end".

The problem is that even without a black section on the movie, the subtitles are not at the bottom. I hated that on Android devices before and now they did in the same for the LG app. I don't believe there is a normal person who will like the subtitles to be in the middle of the screen. What is the problem to have that option for moving the position. The app is building from 10 years and that have to be the first thing you can do on such an application. Don't tell me we have to wait again 1 year for the next version to fix that.

Would it be to much of an ask to include the webhook response in the logs to know it reached the destination? This one he is testing is not creating any logs what so ever which means it isn't leaving his server. He rolled back to the old one and it started creating logs so there is for sure some kinda issue here. By logs i am referring to Notifiarr side logs that are generated for every incoming request

Without test cases and data it could be hard to root out these detection problems and why Luke suggested trying the beta server. But if you want to remain on the stable release and are satisfied with the workaround then I think you're set. At least until the next release which could possibly have improved detection and you wouldn't have to override.

Please post a server log. But am guessing you have old /data/collections path that breaks Collection Library dynamic images. Will look for previous topic.

Hi, yes it's certainly possible to make this an option. I think first we need more reporting of recording activity and history because it may leave people wondering what happened to their recordings.

We will certainly look to support their new TOS. Right now we are just trying to help users climb out of the mess that they've created with the updates they've been pushing

Inside of modules/cardbuilder/card.css there is a class that sets the aspect ratio for the genre images: .cardPadder-square{ padding-bottom:0; aspect-ratio:0.89; } Any pixel ratio that matches are good sizes. I just use 840 width by 933 height. The genre art above looks like it's set to aspect-ratio:1.78; You can do it that way too. I would change the aspect-ratio in the custom CSS. Is there a GUI option to set that? I have not noticed. Custom CSS entry that may work is: .cardPadder-square{ aspect-ratio:1.78 !important; } I would be cautious. Other square thumbnails may change, as well and those may not have associated images that are correct for AR 1.78. I've attached a screenshot with custom genre thumbnails that I threw together. The page has some other custom css for background and upper left animated back button. Also, I added two genres that are not from imdb; Super hero and Time Travel. If you do that, you have to add a genre listing for each incoming film, manually. These are not the highend graphic designs that are posted in the forum group, but they are nice to look at. I haven't bothered to post the original images. === Why not just put all the adult films in their own library and then limit most users from having access to that library? You would have to log on with the account that is allowed to view the library to even see the listing of the films. If a user cannot view a library, the media won't even come up in a search. === Hope that helps.

Your log shows HEVC media which Sandy Bridge can't handle in hardware. This looks like a HW detection issue and while @softworkz may be a wizard even he can't make a Sandy Bridge CPU decode HEVC in HW...or can he?

Hi, yes you can using the same API as regular library items: /Items/{Id}/Images/{Type} where Type is the image type, and the request contents would be the contents of the image file.

Would be great to be able to just click a user, clone user to new user... that copies, profile, access, and parental settings.. set new user name, set password. Good to go.
