Okay, While staring endlessly at my home screen, I saw that I still had recordings within my recordings library. Guess what episode was in my recordings library... Neik, yes I looked at it. I still don't get the data I need. My time has been limited and will be until the end of the year. I have been trying to finish creating playlists from selected items. I am also working on a few LiveTV/IPTV things. I appreciate you checking up on my progress. Most of my time this Xmas was taken up by a bad reaction to the Covid Boster shot. I mentioned it in another thread, but thought I'd put it here since this looks like a new section--just for posterity. Would like to have a bulk meta data editor function. For example, if I have 750 videos whose producing studio is the same, I want to select those videos and apply the name of the studio to those videos. Similarly, if there is a custom tag I want to apply to a subset of those movies, I want to be able to select them in bulk and apply the tag to those videos (instead of selecting them one by one).

As I'm transitioning from Volumio and Plex to Emby to centralize my usage to one app, the one thing I'm missing the most is gapless playback. This is particulary annoying when listening to albums like "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd. I'm experiencing a buffer of about 1 second in between songs, which really ruins the immersion. Would be awesome if this would be implemented in both the Chromecast, and web player.

Pretty simple suggestion. I have multiple users for my Emby server. If I want to do continuous maintenance on the media, I have to tell everyone. some of them are harder to reach than others ( i.e. no Facebook or Skype chat etc. ) It would be great if say... on the admin panel, I could hit a check box that enables 'maintenance mode', where the server still runs does everything as normal, but instead of the login screen it displays a maintenance page saying the server is unavailable. Even better if I were able to directly put a reason in a text box that would then display on the login screen as well. Not really sure what others would think of this, but for me it would be quite helpful. mostly if I want to make sure no one is trying to access content I know won't work until I've done a full library scan again. It would be great if i could set the server to delete certain shows after a user has watched it. I happen to watch "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and "The Colbert Report", everyday, and with "News"ish type shows, there is no need to keep the episodes around. So i would like to set MB to auto delete those 2 shows, 3 days after one user has watched it.

One thing that I would like to see implemented is the abilty to display lyrics in all of the apps. For those of us who have libraries with lyrics embedded in the actual files, it would be trivial. Simply scrape the lyrics from the lyrics tag and display them. As far as scraping from online lyrics databases, I don't see that working very well as just about every app that I have seen use it either doesn't get the correct lyrics or they are truncated with an add for the website.

Request that Emby server store Dolby Vision (including profile), Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, HDR10+ (smpte2094) and HLG for appropriate video in the db and use it for display in the media info and track selection sections of movie/episode details screen. I think I may know what the issue is. My mp3 files are not on the server, but on my LAN, on another Windows PC. I am thinking that the failure to play back the mp3 files is on account of the fact that the server has not permanently saved the username/password to that network path, hence it cannot access the mp3 files. If I use explorer.exe and enter the network path to my media library, and then enter my username/password for that other PC, then and only then Emby begins playing the mp3 files on that other PC.

Dev/Admin is asking for server logs (general information of a specific example). Sure, the video shows an issue, but a log can possibly identify the cause of the issue. Majority of the time it is a path change issue.

That version uses poster.jpg as fallback for missing landscape.jpg. Fallback should be fanart.jpg in that case I think like in the other versions before. It is frustrating with 6.x versions. If one thing is fixed another is not working as intended. If skin specific changes to a plugin are made than it should be tested that not all others also got affected.

Oh yes, I forgot Fire TV does that. Set "Don't require a password on the local network" in User settings, so you'll need no keyboard to login.

So on that same host is a second emby docker instance with same tz settings. Checking it from same client pre and post restart doesn't revert. But let me dig into it some more. I once again suspect it's something on my end. Was just curious if this was a known thing or perhaps an easy fix/cause might be known. In your Library settings, disable "Save artwork into media folders" option.

No that is not correct. Each person's view of collections will only allow them to see things they have access to. Collections will never give a user access to media they couldn't see outside the collection.

By "subtitle" OP meant "Episode title". It's sorted.

it's ok as my epg was able to match most of the channels so i only had a few to do. and yes i did do a restore but the channel mappings to come through. since i get my 2nd synology nas, i wanted to start with a clean install on my existing nas otherwise i would have followed the migration instructions. all good now so we can mark this one as complete. i may have another question but i'll start a new post. thanks!

I personally use Silicon Dust, and it "just works" with Emby.

After seeing you post your information about the TV, the TV itself is below garbage tier. Use the calibration settings rtings has to try to get the best out of your TV, which appears to be not much. You are honestly going to have to replace the TV with something better if you want an actual HDR experience. I would just disable HDR on the TV and let the Shield do it's thing.

thank you for your answers. by the way i have tested microsoft edge web app. for ac3 tracks insides files, it plays correctly. but if you have dts tracks. the server transcode it to mp3, which is really bad. you loose 5.1 sound, making me hate web browsers i will stick with the windows store version for my old pc. and my new pcs will use the 3.0.15 versions

You actually have to pay only once, as Premiere unlocks everything. This was just a set of unfortunate circumstances (or an oversight while reading through the options ), I'm quite positive that if you address your query to: billingsupport@emby.media some sort of a solution can be found so you can direct your payment towards Premiere subscription which would give you features you require. You cannot use Synology Quick connect to connect to Emby, or the Synology DDNS. You have to either use the internal/external IP (local/remote access) or use a DDNS service like no-ip for remote access. For remote access you need to open the correct ports on your router

Thanks. Like I said, fortunately it's a sub-channel I rarely use, but figured I would report it so it can be fixed on the backend.

The source of the 'problem' is likely the TV configuration - my advice would be to factory reset and then download some HDR test patterns and actually test / calibrate the TV first to ensure it meets basic HDR requirements. avsforums HDR test patterns link Yes a lower end LCD TV is not going to rival an OLED for colour accuracy/blacks but this is still a relatively modern HDR10+ (dynamic) Samsung TV - if it really is that bad, then it may be faulty - things like the backlights (producing the 'brightness') may have failed.

Having fun playing with this! Question - I have made a few changes here and there. One was to border thickness from 4px to 2px. Works great but in/on dashboard it throws off the position of the progress indicator (so it's going through time indicator numbers) Any way to fix this? Excellent Christmas present by the way! Thank you for your reply, please consider the development of the more direct technique since Emby has support for strm files. It could open a new era of Emby plugins for cloud integration without having to mount anything to our systems (the same way Kodi can integrate cloud streams). Also new plugins for adding internet streams to Emby's Live TV could start to be developed.

Personally I'd would not even look into zip files. Auto-Organize should only look for valid subtitle extensions... (.srt etc.) If that is developed I am a happy camper

Any news guys? Simple will be the idea, let the user upload any image and just allow to link it to a play list or a specific movie/series. no more than 6 or 7 items. And to turn it on and off if they want to. Off by default for people that does not know how to use it.
