ComSkipper ... A Emby Plugin that skips commercials in recordings using output from comskip. This plugin will work with EDL files generated by Comskip, ShowAnalyzer or any other application capable of generating them to automagically skip past commercials when playing back recordings in Emby. A visual localized notification will be presented on the screen when this happens. UNC network mappings are fine - as long as the .EDL file is in the same filename as the media file. A PDF is included in the download that explains all of the details. But one thing should be made clear up front. And that is this plugin does NOT contain comskip, show analyzer, or any other program that detects the commercials and creates the EDL files with the skipping information. Also, the donator version of comskip is required because Emby stores its recordings in .TS format. I'm told the donator version is no longer required. User @vdrovergraciously created a PDF file on how to get this working on Ubuntu. It can be found in the Github repository in the doc folder and will be included in future releases. The PDF file also shows an easy way to configure Emby to automatically run comskip after each recording on a Windows server. Linux server users will need to figure out the best way to do this for their flavor of Linux. I am not a Linux advocate or user, however I did find this information in the NextPVR forum that is encouraging, and I encourage Linux users to help each other out with this as I will be of little to no help in this regard. https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=60803 Building Comskip is really quick and easy on Ubuntu, so probably the same for any Debian based distro: $ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ffmpeg libavcodec-dev libavformat-dev libavutil-dev autoconf automake git libargtable2-dev libtool $ git clone git://github.com/erikkaashoek/Comskip $ cd Comskip $ ./autogen.sh $ ./configure $ make $ sudo make install Once this is out long enough where I am pretty sure it is stable, I'll make its GIT repository public. Git Repo Getting it into the plugin catalog could follow after that, assuming the Emby team approves. I rarely record, my main use case is NFL football games. I record our local teams game, which when complete runs comskip on the recording which takes about 40 minutes. We then watch the game while eating dinner that evening. Skipping halftime (manually) it brings the time from 3-4 hours to 2 to 2.5 hours. Comskip does a very good, remarkable really, job on all of my recordings including the games to date. I have attached the comskip.ini that I use. It works well for me in the US. If you add this to your ini (make sure your system has the processing power to handle it), it will greatly reduce he time comskip takes to process your file (requires donator version). thread_count=2 Have fun and enjoy commercial free recordings Current Release Version 2.2.0.0 - Updated Emby library to latest. I've applied fixes the Samsung Plugin, and added a new revision to the catalog. It shouldn't cause any more problems2 points

I would like to request a sleep timer function for the Emby app. For example, when a song is playing, it should be possible to quickly and easily set a sleep timer to shut off the song after a desired interval. Options could include 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 45, 60, 120 minutes. If it had this, I would be happy to purchase Premiere.1 point

Mostly pertains to m4b but I have seen tags on mp3 files that have time stamps you can jump around in too. Can pm if example needed.1 point

If i KNEW about the unraid dockers that exist..... i would have done unraid MUCH sooner. simplified my life so much, added more functionality that i never knew existed. plus the community app store... so cool1 point

good ideas they are all on local gb network - tested using wifi and ethernet we will look at the other options of moving the file to the other NAS and the remux option these are exactly the kinds of hints I was looking for1 point

Hmm, I am sorry Luke. What I actually did was play the dvdsub file first and then immediately after it stops I started another file with srt s7bs enabled. Then after about 25 seconds or so of that file I started a third file which also contained SRT subtitles and those were enabled also. Are you saying there is ho evidence of these last two srt files being played in the log file? So the first file shows in the log but not the second or third file, both having srt subs? ok, i will clear the log and only play a video with srt subs. Thanks.1 point

That's possible. One test would be to copy the files to a new test library on the first NAS and try playing them back that way.1 point

But it is only 1M ("Bitrate":1219975), But guessing you would like to know if transcoding resolves the issue. That is why I asked if Playback correction makes any difference. If it is everything on the second nas then I would say there is a man in the middle effect (server to nas, nas back to server, server to client)1 point

Hi guys, i got some audiobooks last weekend and i importet them directly into my library. I split my music and my audiobooks but i can't find a audio-book library type. Now i use the music type but the books called album and the files called songs. I followed the music naming guide in the wiki to group the files. In my opinion the music type is not ideal for audio-books. My Request is to create a audio-book type looks like the series in movies. If i missed the feature and it is already in emby could we extend the music naming wiki page with an audio-book part? Thanks a lot!1 point

I Just want to say Thank You! This has now opened the Plugin coding up for me1 point

Okay, I sort of figured you were running the legacy OS Orsay when you said you had a 2014 TV (for Tizen you would need an Evolution Kit). I'm not sure there is much Luke can do as Samsung is no longer accepting updates for sets older than 2017 unless it's a server issue, but we'll see. I'm probably going to start my own thread since I can't get SRT to work now either with the latest Tizen release.1 point

Hello! https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001160415-live-tv-setup You have to purchase Premier to enable the TV functionality, which, for some odd reason, the KB article does not tell you.1 point

Right, I figured 'unrated' fit into a different type of naming option because it was about a rating instead of 'cut'. I noticed that some versioning had "Director Cut", but also had "Unrated Directors Cut" Let's see what we can do here today.1 point

How can you tell what channel a show or movie was recorded from with Live TV? That (pretty important detail) doesn't seem to be saved anywhere (and/or exposed in the UI anywhere). The use case is when you're not happy with the resolution, bitrate, etc. of an important movie or series and want to record it again from a different channel.1 point

OK. So, I now have access to one share, so that's genius. I'll try the same approach with the others. Thanks so much for your help, forum staff!!1 point

If I have a collection that's sorted by title, it makes sense to still have the alpha picker on the side as when browsing a library.1 point

I checked that there was a logo on the server, and the logo is also confirmed on other Emby Apps But I can't see the logo only on the LG Smart TV app. After the update, option related to the logo seem to have disappeared from the app's Display Setting. and Please consider that the size of Moive poster and TV Show Episodes Thumbnail has changed too small. I'll wait until the next update. Thank you for the feedback.1 point

Those CPUs are over ten years old, and have no video capability; by modern standards they use a lot of power for their modest performance. You will probably need hardware for transcoding, and I'd want to check that the "server" case has space for a suitable video card. Paul1 point

For simplicity, assume a universal request for an alpha picker in every multi-title content view (album, artist, show, movie), for ease of browsing large collections.1 point

I personally run UNRAID, but I use it more as a smart NAS than anything else, as I have my Emby server on a laptop that is plugged into the network. Pi-Hole runs on my UNRAID server but that's about it. I would have run it in a docker, but I was too lazy to migrate my users over manually as there was no way to automagically do it when I created the server (there may be now, I don't know). But I find having the laptop as a server makes it far easier as I can keep everything nice and compact and not worry about something crashing and having to force reboot the whole lot, and possibly lose data if something goes wrong, and it also prevents any RDP attacks as I can turn off access to anything outside my network. I also haven't really used linux/unix in over 25 years, so I'm not comfortable with re-learning it again haha. Never put all your eggs into one basket.1 point

After spending a few hours learning about Unraid, that it is its own OS and not dependent on WIndows to run, and knowing that this system will not be used for anything but Emby, we're going to try using Unraid exclusively and not even install Windows. Bad idea? What aren't we considering? @trusselo1 point

It would be very beneficial for dvr users for the detail screen to have the channel name and the time of the recording. If you ask why I want the time that it is recorded the time that it has been recorded tells me the later the show is screened the chances of being taken off air are very high and don't get too hooked on it. In WMC each library displays the information that is relevant for that library so if you go to movies library it will not have the channel name and the time so each screen has the information that is relevant for that library when I requested this before the argument was that every screen should be the same but it shouldn't. It would also be helpful if the pre playback row can be taken off it just makes the screen too busy. In android tv client there is an option and it should be across the board so no one is disadvantaged.1 point

I'm seeing the same messages in your logs that I'm seeing in the Tizen app as far as the SRT subs,0 points
