There was an annoying sync issue. I hope it's fixed now.3 points

Really appreciate the work you put in with this. Its key to my home setup. All of my Kodi devices use this to keep things in sync with Emby. The wife doesn't even know the work behind it, she just enjoys the final result and doesn't complain. lol2 points

? I'm replying to this - I don't need to use ASS subs - External SRT's where there are two lines inbetween the sequence numbers appear as two lines on both FireTV and Shield. as an example - this appears as two lines.2 points

When I want to choose a movie to watch, I have to click on the poster to see description, cast and all. Then move back to library to click the second movie, than back than the third... Would be useful to have a "next button" on movie layout, for faster browsing.2 points

It occurred to me the other day that Emby's Movie and TV libraries treat watched/unwatched indicators in opposite ways. In the TV library, posters display a badge with the number of unwatched episodes on each series poster. No indicator means watched. In the Movie library, posters display a badge with a green checkmark when the movie has been watched. No indicator means unwatched. To summarize: TV: Indicator = UNWATCHED Movie: Indicator = WATCHED It would be great if these libraries could display watched/unwatched status indicators in a consistent manner. Personally I prefer the TV approach, where the indicator corresponds to an unwatched state, as it acts as a flag to draw your attention to something "new". So that would mean no green checkmark on watched movie posters, but instead something like a green star on unwatched movie posters. No change would be needed to the TV library behavior. Thoughts? Am I the only one whose OCD is upset by this?1 point

you should add password complexity and minimum length to stop family members from using too simple of passwords1 point

Hi Guys, my usecase is to use emby in the car while driving. The average bandwidth is far enough to handle a 5 MBit/s stream. But unfortunately there are dead zones or 2G fallbacks. While playing around it seems that emby is able to cache about 30 to 60 seconds, that's not enough. How can I configure a buffer of 5 to 10 minutes? Thanks!1 point

What does this plugin do? It will sync playback progress of media items between two accounts Why is it useful: Regular user accounts (not admin) may have simpler to key-in passwords (note: not simpler passwords... simpler to key in passwords) for remote controls. If you have an admin account with a password which is extra difficult to key in on remotes, and you would like to keep the admin account's watched status up-to-date, but would consider using a 'non-admin' account to watch media, then you can sync the progress data back to your admin account. This plugin will only sync the playback progress data to an account if the position of the playing media (when stopped), is further along in the runtime then what was already present in the sync'd account. I hope I have explained it well enough. Feel free to check out the Github for this plugin: https://github.com/chefbennyj1/Emby.AccountSync or ask questions. Thanks AccountSync.zip1 point

Feature request. Since it appears to be a client-side configuration, is there a possibility of adding a setting to adjust the number of Latest items that are displayed. The number of items displayed seems to be different based on whichever client app you are using. I realize you can go in to the individual libraries and sort by date added, but most of my family members rarely venture in to the individual libraries and then go and change the sort options. They just automatically go to the latest items for each library and it doesn't take much for fairly recent items to get knocked out of view when there is only 20 items (or less) that are visible. Making this number user (or app settings) selectable would be a great feature.1 point

This change has been released as beta in both the Kodi 18 and 19 branches - add paging to TV Shows - increase max item per page to 2001 point

Hi Luke, Awesome thanks so the stock standard specs should be fine of this server1 point

For me, $5 to get a 1-month premium subscription was well worth it to confirm Emby met my needs. I think their $5 offer is still available.1 point

@mbo did you check the applications in the Entertainment category? As I wrote "Search" doesn't find it, but the application is there and available.1 point

Unfortunately, there is still a minor sync issue. I try to fix it in next version (hard to test). What I try to tackle is a realtime sync issue. In some edge cases, the realtime sync stops. A Kodi restart fixes the problem. So it doesn't really goes completely out of sync, just annoying. No need to perform specific tests, I know what I'm looking for1 point

It looks a major part of my complaint (the Veil videos) was caused by an actual bug, which is supposed to be fixed in the next version. The rest is fixable with the "Metadata Manager" screen, so yes, this helped. Thanks for the advice and suggestions, everyone.1 point

I'm unsure of your motive to limit download speed on your LAN. Today most of us have Gigabit LAN's so unless you have a dozen concurrent users all watching movies @ 2-3MBps ??? As far as Cloudflare goes... I don't like getting involved with companies with monthly charges and crippleware for "FREE". Nginx does what is needed, and that is encapsulation of the data stream so "Big Brother" can't easily see what you're transporting. So... out of simple curiosity? Why the limit ?1 point

You are absolutely right. It was the skin. After reinstalling it works again. Thank you.1 point

Ok, may have figured it out - I needed to "unlink" i.e. use the "stop emby home from remembering me" link from the web page - https://assistant.google.com/services/a/uid/000000b6334db7e5?hl=en-US then re-link the connect account with this same link.1 point

ok, thanks! Yea besides these files I've played a lot of stuff at 25fps without issue.1 point

Unfortunately, I don't think it does - see half way down 'Supported Resolutions' :- https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/tcl/6-series-r635-2020-qled/ It may be doing some internal processing to fix the issues anyway - so if it looks ok, then I shouldn't overly worry about it1 point

I understand, makes sense. Manage Emby Server shortcut goes to a section called Dashboard, incongruence on the naming for the same section on 2 differente places.1 point
-
yes i supposed that this was the idea behind i’m just noticed that using this “shortcut” who is isefull the name did not describe the right destination, btw this is something totally not important..,, but i’m coder too and this kind of little unrelevant think made me crazy1 point
-
Yes, having this a universal feature would be a great idea!1 point

@rbjtech Damn nice to see you're still kicking around here in this thread, you always add some levity to my Emby stress and I thank you for that, your glass-half-full approach sheds a nice light on this situation. You are right, the DTS conversion is a very nice feature and also the original reason for me joining this thread. I did test it a few minutes ago and I can finally watch a few encodes that have DTS. So, I was wondering that exact same thing about adding a 4K device to my TV and then using ARC, I was told by someone that they were unable to use their ARC out on their TV unless it was paired internally with an application(within the TV OS), I didn't test it on my TV, but, I will SOON. I'll have to look and see if it handles pass-through, however, my AVR(Pioneer SC-1222-K) doesn't seem to decode AAC despite claiming it can, where the LG OS mux's them into AC3. Sometimes I can be stubborn because I just want my "stuff" to work, I think I need to start accepting defeat, cut my losses and move on like you have done, if I can get ARC to play nice I'm outta this thread like a bad habit for my own sanity's sake. I think I will try one of these: https://www.amazon.com/TiVo-Stream-4K-Streaming-Plug/dp/B089655HQV/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=4K+tivo+stream&qid=1639658193&sr=8-2 I've set up a few of my Emby users with that TiVo device and it's pretty solid for the price and quite feature rich. Thanks for bringing that up, I'm going to bite-the-bullet and try one out. I'll keep you posted on my endeavor. Thx @rbjtech1 point

Even if Emby had used that package it would not be a vulnerability unless you also happened to use the LDAP plugin and didn't have your LDAP protected properly. Likely the way Emby is implemented it would never be that kind of problem anyway as you would not be able to pass information to it. So for all the reasons mentioned it's not a concern. Worth mentioning. As far as security is concerned the best thing you can do is review your router/firewall and make sure UPnP is off, that no DMZ is on, that any port forwards are ones you have specifically set and control. Make sure any hosts being pointed to by port forwarding have static IPs or static DHCP leases so the IP doesn't change. Turn on firewalls on every computer/device you have in the house and review their settings. If you have the ability to use VLANs either in software or emulated using an old router one of the best things you can do is put all IoT devices on a separate network not allowing them to to access your internal network except for specific ports or IPs. Installing and using Pi hole or Ad Guard as your local DNS server goes a long way as they will block ad malware domains and ad sites (good in general) that carry this kind of code (Ransomware, Phishing, Spyware, Virus, Malware). If you can't or don't know how to set either of those up then changing the 2 DNS entries in your home router can accomplish a lot. This will give new DNS server entries to any client on your network as part of the DHCP renewal. Changing the DNS entries to: Cloudflare's Introducing 1.1.1.1 for Families https://blog.cloudflare.com/introducing-1-1-1-1-for-families/ Malware Blocking Only Primary DNS: 1.1.1.2 Secondary DNS: 1.0.0.2 Malware and Adult Content Primary DNS: 1.1.1.3 Secondary DNS: 1.0.0.3 https://www.quad9.net/ 9.9.9.9 and 149.112.112.112 https://www.comodo.com/secure-dns/ 8.26.56.26 and 8.20.247.20 https://help.dyn.com/dyn-internet-guide/ 216.146.35.35 and 216.146.36.36 https://signup.opendns.com/homefree/ OpenDNS Home Customizable with web interface Pi Hole or Ad guard by far give you the most control locally. But any of these solutions is DNS based and doesn't require any software to be installed. They simply don't return an IP to a domain name for suspect/filtered sites. Cloudflare DNS servers will probably be faster with malware filtering then your local upstream ISP DNS servers anyway so it's win/win with that one even using in combination with Pi hole or Adguard.1 point

An alternate method is to setup another Emby server just for this with access only for you. If running on Windows it's easy to run two versions (one being portable) on the same computer using different ports (the key to doing this). That would even allow you to use the release version for your normal setup while using the beta for the other stuff. It's really no different then using a separate account on the main server except it's much harder to make a mistake and accidentally give access to someone.1 point
-
Hi, have you checked the client side permissions and granted the user access to the new library? How about checking to make sure the user has no filtering?1 point
-
Basically click on the first movie to open, and then just browse forward and back, without having to go to library root every time.1 point

> i don't believe we've documented this api very well right now. You are wrong. I've used much worse. The wiki combined with the web inspector has already given me what I need to do everything I want. So I'll be developing this rapid show maintenance tool over the next few days. I'll report the results here. I hope others find it useful also.1 point

It's a SEAGATE drive - if the data on there is of any value - then copy it to another drive asap as it will soon crap out on you anyway ...1 point

Features like this are usually configurable my the admin. Besides if you want to use a weak kid password just setup a pin for your kids user that can be used on the local network.1 point

Hi, yes we're working on porting to as many languages as possible. Thanks for the feedback.1 point

Is it planned to work on this anytime soon @Luke? I tried MrMC in the meantime, the refresh rate switch works there for both x264 and x265 video files without any issue. The TV switches always to the perfect refresh rate. I would like to get rid of MrMC because I don’t like the interface and gui at all. Emby is much better here. Thanks1 point
