On each client app you have to set the playback to max (4k 120mbit), the default auto setting is what is triggering the transcode. But if your connection speed is below the original bitrate you wont be able to play those videos.

Hi, Since I am using more and more TMDb, (since tvdb is more and more a mess), I am missing a very important feature. tvdb had the feature of grouping stuff into aired, DVD and absolute, which is supported by emby. TMDb had also this feature. See this example for "La casa de papel" (Money Heist, Haus des Geldes): The Original Order is allways the "aired order" of the original country. "La casa de papel" was originaly released by "Antena 3" and was taken over by Netflix, which results in different episodes ordering, which is a mess. They solved it in episode grouping. This feature is missing from emby, but it's integrated in their API and is allready supported in other apps, like kodi. Yarafie, For LiveTV I have only 20 channels and they load quickly with 2 weeks of TV Guide data. You have over a thousand and that will take time. The good news is that the data is cached, so it's not fetched again. The TV Guide will automatically scroll left according to time. I am still trying to learn about locking channels. Vic

yeah same here because i have 2 simultanious streams enabled per user. so if theres a ghost stream still playing in the background, i cant stream because its using up one of my connections.

I'm having similar problems with Emby server v4.7.0.18. If a channel is unavailable (at server side) and doesn't start at client side, Emby keeps blocking the connection. So if I have 3 simultanious streams allowed, one is being blocked until I restart Emby server. So looks like there is way for improvement. Just tell me what you need. Best regards

For the first issue, try exploring the 'Users' section and having a look at any possible bitrate limits set there on their profile.

Looks like the dialog box for the Show Simplified Menu might be suppressed or destroyed. The main Kodi thread is waiting for a result from this box however when it checks it does not exist crashing the main Kodi thread.

Version: Kodi 19.3 Platform: Android Nvidia Shield 2019 Addon Build: Emby Next Gen 6.2.0-build 190 Playback Mode: Addon Found where it happens. I change how my movies playback once the blu-ray is loaded to Show Simplified Menu rather than Playback Main Movie. This is because Kodi is sometimes bad about picking the correct playlist title. If the title lengths are the same Kodi sometimes like to pick director commentary from the Bluray playlist. Settings --> Player --> Disc --> Blu-ray playback mode: Show Simplified Menu (instead of Play Main Movie) I tested with Playback Main Movie and although sometimes slow it does load correctly. Something has change that is crashing Kodi. I can repeat this constantly. While I would put blame on Kodi since it is the Kodi's interface, if I navigate through the File Manager with the mapped SMB path and play the ISO directly I get the correct pop-up. Something has broken between the handoff of of Emby addon and the Bluray playback which is crashing Kodi.

This might be related to your other topic, are you using Android app or Android TV app on your phone|? Cause latter has no cast capabilities.

Minus specific examples and server logs it is really hard to say. Auto Box Set plugin in obsolete as of 4.6 and is items metadata driven per library settings.

Would agree with the shield and i have tried all sorts, and the benfit of the shield is it pretty much does everything with solid updates. Sure plenty of cheaper boxes about but i have seriously learnt you get what you pay for, for example in my experience of devices i tested: Amazon Cube - Decent enough, no voice search in Emby with remote, DTS HD /True HD not passtrough but does framerate change Beelink Devices - Crap software and barely works yet more expensive than a shield (Gt King Pro) Meccol KM2 - Again sounds great certified device but poor software and abandonment means crap experience CCWGT - No auto frame rate had various other issues albeith only owned for a day as sent back Odroid N2+ - Powerful device but hacked together unofficial android builds, okay overall but too flakey especially multiboot firmware The shield is pretty much the only one that really ticks all the boxes for me, not tried Roku so cannot comment

First check and make your your setting for adjust daylight saving time is correct. Before it that is set wrong windows won't update that setting and while you time is shown correct a lot of windows processing and APIs return things an hour off. That's what this sounds like to me. You would want the setting to adjust for daylight savings time on.

After some tests and having done the tour of "Emby", I switched to Emby Premiere to make my small contribution. I have a few little feedback to do that I will post soon. Really won over, great development, extensions, configurable, video player that appears efficient, and above all: good support for "nfos". Well done guys !

Yes and no. If you have the URL of the file/stream itself this can be done. If it's a web page like Youtube pages, then no as of right now. This is done using strm files. https://emby.media/support/articles/Strm-Files.html Here's an example with an old black and white movie that is no longer copyrighted. Amazing Transparent Man, The (1960).strm Just a simple one line file that is nothing but the direct link to the media. PS so if you dropped that into a movie folder with the proper folder name to match the file name, emby would add it to the movie library with any meta-data it can find, just like any other media. Only difference is that Emby won't fetch the remote movie to look up codec, time/length etc so you won't have that data until it's first played (then you will have that too). strm files work really well for some types of content. I would like Nested Collections to be reinstated. I have Audiobooks that are in Series collections that I would like to put those series into a subgenre collection.

Edit the permissions for the shared folder click the drop down and change to "System internal user". You should now see the new "emby" user, then give read/write permissions.

Personally, I'd be interested in this being a per-Collection setting (eg, "Hide this Collection from main list if it is already included in another Collection" Yes/No), as opposed to a global setting (though I suppose you could have a global default and then override it per-Collection).
