Hey, cheers for the responses! I'm pretty sure the problem has been reported before (and I am seeing it happen on the latest build 2.0.57). Here's one thread detailing the issue, and the Devs have responded saying they would look into it which gives me some hope that a fix is on the way: ...I would still be interested in grabbing beta 1.8.73 though, if anyone has it handy Thanks again,2 points

Thats right at the end is just a filter the purpose is to refine results, so less results should be expected.2 points

Sorry for sort of necro-ing this thread, but I've run into this issue again this week in trying to get Emby onto my daughters Fire - I really want to do this officially so that I can make the app available to her kids profile without resorting to workarounds. I've bumped into this issue before, and every now and then I try again just to see if there has been any update. However, in my most recent check I've also spotted that both Plex and Jellyfin apps are available to install via the store, which makes Amazon's refusal to allow Emby even more confusing. I know you've said that you've contacted Amazon about this several times previously, and each time you get a canned response, and at work having just pushed a new app to the Google and Apple stores, I can appreciate how hard it can be to navigate through all the automated responses, etc. However, as an alternative to continuing to get fobbed off by Amazon with automated responses, what about trying to publish the app again as a brand new app on their store? You currently have the "Emby Mobile" and "Emby for Fire TV" apps on their store, so what about doing a brand new submission of Emby Mobile (using the same APK/build) but as a new app just called "Emby". By publishing as a new app, it should hopefully be treated as it's own entity, without the history of the Emby Mobile app, and could possibly get accepted? I have to imagine at this point that the app is automatically rejected now simply because it has been rejected previously, and no-one/no system is actually evaluating the app from fresh each time. By using this approach, if the app is accepted you could just eventually retire "Emby Mobile", and move everyone across to the new "Emby" app knowing it supports a superset of devices, and if the app isn't accepted, you can delist it without much issue. It's just a thought, but I would really like to be able to add Emby to my kids Fire accounts, and it would be great if it could be done "officially". Other than that, please keep up the great work - Emby is absolutely amazing, and we'd be lost in our household without it!2 points

i'm with @GrimReaperwe should have less results as you are trying to find movies from a long list and if they have more than one genre - many do - then a huge list is useless especially on ATV etc where navigation is a huge click fest.2 points

What we actually need are individual user playlist so everyone cant see other's lists2 points

Hi Luke, I know it takes a "few weeks" but there's almost a month since the 4.6.6 was released. Well, I'll come back in a "few weeks" if I still don't have notification (or if the package center is updated)2 points

Can we lock the movie order in a playlist? I want to make a MCU movie sequence, but anyone can change the order in it and i need it to be always the same order.1 point

Yes, non GPU related processes like bif generation, image loading, etc will benefit from more CPU power. I would have probably gone Qnap myself, but I prefer (or am used to) DSM over Qnap's OS1 point

I believe DV was added in version 2.0 , but ya I would report your problem as I don't recall seeing that mentioned before. I'm not having any issues with my PGS subs using the latest beta 2.0.571 point

Hi, yes the backup plugin can handle this for you: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159936-backup Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.1 point

What does stop watching mean? Yes the Roku is the biggest issues here as not backing out of the stream (hitting home) will not send the stop command to the server and not clean up the stream. There are a few topics on this Roku defect.1 point

I would recommend this not disable the tracks when playing an album. There are many tracks I don't want to listen to in a mix play mode but which are part of the album experience.1 point

I didn't know that, from googling it looks like a big thing to People who exploit what others spend so much time perfecting they just ruin it for everyone.1 point

Bottom line is you can't let what others do stop you from building an amazing platform in this world there's always thieves and crooks online fraud whatever the case may be. Don't let crooks deter from making great features like this one. It is frustrating wanting something that never happens1 point

I'd say we tend to disagree there, but we're going in circles, as majority of movies doesn't have a single genre attached exactly because no single genre describes them. You can just as easily filter for Horror and filter for Suspense - I can't filter for Horror/Suspense at all.1 point
-
Could you not add an option to allow the user to choose either "and" or "or" when searching? So AND would be "horror and Christmas" with OR being "horror or Christmas". Not perfect, but might be more useful.1 point

Absolutely, even with my mistake I managed to do the complete migration in 45 minutes thanks to this topic.1 point

thanks, that did the trick. I must have mistakenly downloaded the DSM6 version1 point

I’ll test OpenCL with VAAPI and see how it compares to QuickSync. For my library I keep a 1080p copy of my 4K movies as time mapping isn’t where I’d like it to be yet but I’m very excited for the future of it. I can do six 4k to 1080p transcode with throttle off. With throttle I expect it to be a lot higher. That’s amazing for an IGPU!1 point

What is the media info for the item you are trying to play in a browser? But am guessing an unsupported codec in the browser and per selected option playback fails. EnablePlaybackRemuxing: True EnableVideoPlaybackTranscoding: False EnableAudioPlaybackTranscoding: True &TranscodeReasons=VideoCodecNotSupported1 point

Ah sorry I think I misread and confused this with another topic. Try clicking on your HDHR tuner in Emby Server and checking the option to only import favorite channels.1 point

Just wanted to update you guys on this. Looks like everything is working properly and I was able to update. What I did: 1. Got into my TrueNAS and tried to update the emby jail via the GUI - Got an error saying it was a Major update and said to use iocage upgrade 2. Got into the Shell of my TrueNAS and typed iocage upgrade -r 12.3-RELEASE emby - seemed to download 12.2. I chose 12.3 because that seemed to the most current 3. Went through a lot of updating and receive a WARNING message that said FreeBSD 12.2-RELEASE is approaching its End-of-Life date. It is strongly recommended that you upgrade to a newer release within the next 1 month - Not sure what this means, if someone can please explain. See attachment Upgrade Message 4. It finally completed and updated my emby jail from 11.2-RELEASE-p15 to 12.2-RELEASE-p11 - See attachment updated Jail. 5. I then tried to access my emby server and just as MRobi said, it broke and would not work. 6. I then stopped the emby server and tried to update emby to 4.6.4.0 based on 12 rather than 11. I received a dependency error, mono was missing 7. I then typed pkg install mono - This installed the dependency and performed some removal of some other stuff 8. I then tried to update emby again to 4.6.4.0 based on 12 and this time it successfully updated. I was able to access my emby server. I restarted it as it asked me to on the dashboard and all seems good. 9. Lastly, my TrueNAS has an update, doing that next. Thanks for all the help with this. After doing it, it makes sense to me now and was so simple. I needed an updated jail to get the new dependencies. The updated jail would break my emby server, so I would need to update emby based on 12 and no longer 11. I did that and all good. Thanks again, Chris1 point

In the meantime I wrote a script for exactly this purpose. If you're using Linux give it a try: https://github.com/Nebarik/mediscripts-shared/blob/main/asub-extractor-v2.sh What it does it go through your files and if a external subtitle file doesn't exist it extracts out a .ass and .srt (same file just different extension that chromecast prefers). Then updates the video file by removing the default flag allowing the external file to be the default. This causes a replacement file and can take a little while, so ive got it to check if its already done it yet and it only does if its currently default. To run it, either run it inside the folder you keep all your files. Or specify a folder. It'll go through all subfolders. eg: cd /Anime/Naruto ./asub-extractor-v2.sh or ./asub-extractor-v2.sh /Anime/Naruto/1 point

That was all covered at lenghts in the above topic: And I'm still unclear why Genres aren't ANDed by default.1 point
-
Yes we need to get it directly onto the detail screen like our other apps, but until that time, it's still accessible under that button.1 point

Use the button Select audio and subtitles on the detail screen. There you can select the version.1 point

When you sign in to EmbyConnect why does it persist with the "Sign in to EmbyConnect" besides the server list? This always give me the impression I am not actually signed in or something didn't work. It should be "Sign out of EmbyConnect" once logged in, surely? I have no idea if the servers I am looking at are locally configured or presented to me through the EmbyConnect web portal.1 point

Awesome, I wasn't sure if I should have included so much low level info or not but glad there was something there that helped. I think the best way to answer your new question is simply stating that any application running on the host vs docker or some other container format is built specifically for that OS vs a generic docker Linux assembly that will be abstracted from the host. So yes there is always going to be a performance and memory penalty for doing that. With that said, docker on Synology and other NAS boxes is great for some apps because it allows an easy install of apps you normally could not easily install otherwise. Synology for example uses a stripped down version of Linux with many commands changed to their own version. That can make running or building some apps very hard to do. By using docker you essentially get a small foot print Ubuntu (or other Linux) running for that instance which makes it easy to run any of the apps built for that OS. That's a super high level explanation of course. But in general for an application such as Emby Media Server, given the choice you are going to better off running a native package designed for it. So in this case that would be one of our packages designed for DSM 6 or DSM 7 depending on what you're currently running.1 point

Would it be possible to add an option to hide the Songs section on Artist pages, or change the section order so I can have it appear below Albums, Appears On, and More Like This? Thanks for considering.1 point

Yes, please let us remove/hide the "songs" section and the obnoxious "More like this" from all the clients. I really hate it.1 point

Ah - I searched to check but didn’t find it. Back in 2017! I think we’ll see more of multiple video streams - and I get @Luke’s comment on keeping it simple. However with 8k, 4k, 1080 and multiple variations particularly frame rate now studios are pushing boundaries, I suspect we’ll see more of these MKVs. Perhaps worth a reconsider.1 point

We now have arm and x64 Debian packages for emby theater on Linux: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/42868-emby-theater-for-linux This is an easy one click install process. The arm package runs great on raspberry pi. Please try it out, thanks !1 point
