Does unraid still have that "pre-formatting" step necessary? I moved from unraid a few years ago because of that and that the parity drive had to be the largest one (obviously). Adding new discs to the array (especially as disc capacity grows) was just too hard. Moved to StableBit DrivePool and just duplicate my really important files (photos and home videos). If I lose a normal media drive (haven't yet) I'll just have to re-rip.

I see this in a few specific feature request threads, but I'd like to make it a universal request: please have ALBUM ARTIST be an available filter/sort option everywhere ARTIST is an option. Many music selections - especially compilation albums - are best found and used via the ALBUM ARTIST field rather than by the ARTIST field. I hope it wouldn't be a huge coding effort to add both as an option, whenever one is currently an option.

I personally have all my media on an UNRAID server, and I've only had 10 concurrent users at once, but no one complained. I personally have a laptop as my Emby server (i3-8130u), as I just wanted something that had a screen, and was small. Quicksync can handle tonnes of simultaneous encodes (my laptop, 17 1080p encodes). Rbjtech is correct on how much of a freaking beast Adler Lake is, as the xe asics are fast, and better than NVENC. As for a backup, if your library is "only" 15TB, you could potentially get a 16TB, or 2 10's for cold storage. Or backblaze as it's currently on sale?

Would be great if Emby integrated bookets (PDF files, etc) for Music. For example, CD's usually might contain a booklet with liner notes etc that come with the CD, just like albums might have back the days of vinyl. I have most of these in PDF and the ONLY place I have ever seen it integrated into a music server type platform is Roon Labs. Roon is great, but can be expensive. ... as I was tired of manually grouping all my movie versions into groups after each recreation of the db, I created a plugin to help with that. The use case is having movies, that belong together spread around and not being able to easily match the emby naming conventions, but still having the desire to present them as one item with multiple versions. The plugin works similar to the auto boxsets, but does the "movie versions grouping" - it will group all movies based on their TMDB id into one item, regardless of where they're placed and how they're named. I made that for myself - however, if anybody is interested, attached is a plugin that solves this issue. Attached version is for current 3.6.0.49 beta Server, do NOT use it with stable release! Plugin is alpha state, you should only use it, if you are willing to backup your db (there is no way to revert the changes otherwise!) and manually put the dll in the server plugin directory. Do not use it in your production environment before having tested in a test environment that you're fine with what it does - seriously! ;-). Note: There is a known bug in the web GUI presentation which is described here, which needs to be fixed on emby side. Edit: the mentioned display bug in BoxSets is fixed in Emby now, thanks Luke. Add alpha picker to the "add to collection screen. The title pretty much says what I would like. It is slow to move through the collections to find the one to add to without it.

Hi, one feature request: 1) the alphabetical bar for quick jumping is missing in the album view for music collections in the web client when the album view is selected with ordering of album interpret. I see literally no good reason why this bar is missing there. whenever there is the sorting option of huge objects...a quick jumping bar should be available. music library: movie library - see red marking: and in the same music library but in the album-interpret view it is also there: Br, Florian

It would be great to have an alpha jump bar on the right margin of ALL multi-album screens, for ALL sort or filter fields. Especially when Albums are sorted by Album Artist, it's really hard to scroll through my 1,000+ albums - having the alpha navigation bar in all sorts/filters would make a big usability improvement.

It would be great if Emby displayed track length for each track in the active queue and in playlists.

Hi, in playlists we do, although not on small screens. We can do the same for the play queue.

I don't think we'll be doing this because it would only be possible on the server machine. But for the ability to see the full info, yes that is doable.

@SamES Thank you for your quick response. I just checked and my eyes deceived me, its only the audio that is lagging not the video. You just hear the audio stuttering and then after it goes completely silent. The video keeps playing without any issues. My assumptions go out to AAC vs OPUS. FYI Im on 2021 series Regards, Roel

Going to test this latest 02 was working fine. One improvement is adding a way to unlock/lock tags in Metadata. In emby when editing Metadata it allows you to lock certain items tags is one of them. Reason for doing this is I'm using your utility to modify tags for live TV. Live TV is usually refreshed on a schedule to get the latest epg guides which are linked to channels. When emby does this it overwrites whatever tags are already there so back to square one to editing. I think the same will happen with media in your libraries but usually don't get updated once it's read all the libraries during I initial setup or adding new media unless you have overwrite meta-data feature set don't remember where that is exactly. Hope my above explanation is clear.

Sorry you are talking about "Add to Collections". An easy workaround is simply typing the letter.

Since drives have become so inexpensive and I do not like the idea of spending time on reripping I duplicate my movie files in my pool as well. I have lost a drive during operation and Emby did not even seriously hiccup even though a video that was playing (except it stopped and the movie had to be restarted to give DrivePool time to switch to the duplicate). But, other than that little glitch I only knew that a drive failed because of the message DrivePool sent me informing of the failure. I simply ordered a new drive and connected it too the server and addedit to the pool and DrivePool took over and re-balanced and re-duplicated all files involved. In my old age I guess I have become lazy but reripping is just too much trouble when it is so cheap to avoid the need totally. I know there are raid systems that are as reliable as DrivePool but I just cannot bring myself to try them because DrvePool just works and does not really require and special skills. I

Switching the Xbox UI to 1080p vs 4k seems to be a temp workaround, i'm also having similar problems with the HDHomeRun TV app and they have acknowledged that to be due to an update pushed by MS. Believe MS have a fix on the latest developer access build so fingers crossed this will be addressed soon for all.

That's uncompressed which no one would use expect those doing mastering. Any Blu Ray of 4K HDR you see will have been compressed with H.265 most likely and be in the 30-80Mb range. On average a Gb NIC will handle 15 4K streams pretty easily (just do that math).

Liking and bumping this. Hard to navigate when you have a growing playlist and it's upward of 200 tracks. Also it's in XML and not m3u so I can't just open it in mediamonkey and sort.

Hi there, I have one feature request for emyb which I didn´t find in the forums. Im missing the feature to toggle on/off "Suffle" in the current queue. Yes, I can shuffle a whole album or playlist, but I think thats not enough. My use-case (and I think many would agree with me) is building a queue (not a playlist!) from many different albums/locations/playlists, and then I sometimes want to toggle shuffle on and off. I would be very happy, if someone could implement this (basic - in my opinien) feature Thanks, Junias

I would use something like notepad++ and do a find and replace. It would search all nfo files and fine set wrong value and place with the value you want. But you would run into issues if items were ever Refreshed as it would return to provider value. TinyMediaManager can filter and bulk edit.

IS there anyway we could see a realtime dashboard similar to Plex where when things get updated, you dont need to refresh the website? Maybe some kind of Ajax? Also in the Dashboard is there anyway of showing number of users like a badge so we know how many users are using Emby along with what they are watching etc. Right now it is a laborious process of going to activity to check.

@@Luke another way this could be done and add additional functionality would be to have a group login that has logins associated with it. Then on each device you login with the group username/password and would get the list of accounts associated with that group account to choose from. This would expand functionality because now I could have one group for my home as I have now, but could also create a group for my X-Wife's house with her login and my two kids and I could also create a group for the brother-in law (and his family with accounts) or for a close friend (and his family). This way each "home" could have their own set of "local accounts" that can only be used for fast switching and we wouldn't be limited to just one set of quick change logins. This would also solve part of the security issue the op is having as well. Carlo

Indeed. Multi-select lists is a very old usability feature on every GUI since Xerox PARC. As an example, if I want to add some tracks from an album to a playlist, it's tedious to click on every track, add to playlist, and so on.
