The key to a smooth transition is accuracy of the Intro detection - and in most cases, Introskip does a very acceptable job.

Guys, The ebook side of Emby/MediaBrowser has been long stalled or rather stagnated. I would like to offer up a couple of suggestions. Many people use calibre as an ebook/comic book tool for scraping data and general management of their collection already. This program is absolutely astonishing in its ability to pull metadata from post calibre scans, as well as draw in metadata from the file source and/or directory structure. http://vaemendis.net/ubooquity/ Its a self contained .jar server/reader combination. And honestly I am very impressed by it's small footprint and wide range of abilities. The other option is COPS , which was written specifically with calibre in mind. It is open source, so making it work with emby I would think would be fairly easy. https://blog.slucas.fr/projects/calibre-opds-php-server/ Ever since the original release of MediaBrowser's bookshelf I have always wanted something that would allow me to 'read' my collection, rather than being basically nothing more than a place-set for images of books I own. I am sure that those who mainly have audiobooks are thrilled with bookshelf , but it's nothing more than an extension of the music library IMHO, not new features. We can have both right? Here I give you two suggestions free of charge.. Just because I love you, and Emby Personally I plan on running the Ubooquity Server along side of Emby from now on, just because of it's massive functionality and tiny footprint. But I sure hope that someone decides -- "yeah, ebook support should be in here too" and do something about it - rather than allow this now very very ancient issue to continue to remain an issue. And so I don't have to have 20 different ports open, some with SSL support - some not, because Emby isn't delivering the 'complete package'. (Please take some of this with humor, I know you have your hands full with improvements/bugs/suggestions/requests)

Is it possible that RTM saw the two copies of the movie before radarr deleted the old one? Reason being that happens when there is already a copy of the movie in the folder. So when a second copy of the movie shows up Emby names the files like you described. Unless you're using version naming of course

I understand there are a few people that do not want to follow standard sorting that is used world wide by virtually every cataloging system there is but there really does not need to be an option for it during setup. It would, as Emby has stated before about some things I have asked for, simply introduce a complication that most users would not really understand. There is no reason to make things more complicated for the large majority just to simplify setup for a small minority. Emby has provided an option for users that wish to have their sort act differently and that is quite good enough as far as I believe.

Not sure if this has been requested yet or not, I did a little searching before posting so forgive me if this has been requested already. A nice feature to have would be something along the lines of a Kids Mode, some changes that i would forsee in this mode are: Simplified Playback (Instead of selecting the item then having to hit the play button just have it so when an item is selected it just plays.) Simplified Menus (Instead of separating Movies and TV (yes i know if i change my libraries i could accomplish this) have it more along the lines of maybe Character selections (i.e. Mickey Mouse) without having to search Move the Series and Movies selection to a main screen (i.e. Currently to browse for a movie you have to select the movie library then select the movies tab.) The option could be, if you wanted movies you can just hit movies, then all of your kids movies are displayed. Infinite scroll (Self explanatory, but the ability to keep scrolling instead of having to hit pages would be helpful for this mode) If anyone else has ideas for this mode feel free to add on. One thing that I would like to see implemented is the abilty to display lyrics in all of the apps. For those of us who have libraries with lyrics embedded in the actual files, it would be trivial. Simply scrape the lyrics from the lyrics tag and display them. As far as scraping from online lyrics databases, I don't see that working very well as just about every app that I have seen use it either doesn't get the correct lyrics or they are truncated with an add for the website.

It's still in progress. We will be revamping it, and as of now it looks like it will be based on this: https://github.com/RPi-Distro/pi-gen But we've had to prioritize work for the server ahead of this, so that's why we haven't completed it yet.

What model TV? I assume it's a 2021 if you just bought it. There is a similar discussion which only affects 2021 owners here

This is still an issue. CBS and NBC still being detected as progressive channels with the wrong refresh rate. Any movement on this?

I made a few GUI changes (colors and styles) and corrected a simple bug or two. Also, when signing on to Emby, the password field is not protected. If you want it protected just uncomment line 219 and comment out line 220. This just adds the "password" attribute to the input field. Please let me know if the code is working OK in practice and pass on any ideas you might have on how to improve the code. I am currently trying to figure out how to add more filtering. There's already existing feature request for articles to be ignored, lend your support there, as it is clearly pinned on top of Feature requests thread: You've been given links. You've been given means - which would've taken you whole of 30 seconds to achieve desired result. You've been given fairly realistic explanation from @Gilgamesh_48. I left it unlocked for any potentially constructive input. No more.

It's looking that way. I gave up a year ago and got a Shield Pro 2019 - it's far more capable than the internal player anyway - does DV, refresh rate switching and HD Audio. Give the LG OLED the signal it deserves ! I still miss the magic remote though - pointing to the play line and subsequent image in realtime and clicking the button was very nice - far better than the Shield in that respect.

After doing some more tested with my firewall, it appears that is what is preventing connection.

I believe you are correct as this reddit post basically gave everyone the know how to do it "properly". DV is a totally different animal, and we know from experience that 90+% of the users here are completely ignorant when it comes to codecs, profiles, etc and just expect whatever they throw at Emby to "Just F$#E%R#$ work".

Oui, c'est un problème mais techniquement un problème Github car ce sont des ressources en ligne. Mais ce serait une bonne idée que ces images soient des packages avec le serveur ou un téléchargement unique de Gihub sur votre serveur. Yes it is a issue but technically a Github issue since they are online resources. He deleted the server on the client side.. So we removed his EC name saved it, added it back and saved it again to reset his EC account for that server.

I'll fix that in next version. Could be related to the bug I fixed in last experimental version. Let me know if the issue still exists... Seems to be Kodi related and not a problem in the plugin. Your log shows only issues with skin helper plugins.

What exactly is the problem that the user is seeing?

Well AC3 starts encode on my setup. I am not sure how to stop that from happening other than not using video with AC3. When I converted a video from audio AC3 to audio AAC and kept the same video track, the reencoding stopped. Does someone know if it's possible to setup a server to direct play AC3 without reencoding? I haven't looked.

If it were me having issues playing back high bitrate media (I'm guessing based on 4K) through Ethernet to Desktop Theater I would start looking at the environment. To me based on what you've said this sounds like a network issue. What I'd try and do is bring up performance monitor on the Theater PC if windows and look at the different stats but especially the network. Is it nice and smooth or going up and down a lot? I'm certainly not saying you have a network issue but it sounds like something to check. Something like this that's direct playing that pauses is usually either something network related or media related. You got to start somewhere so looking at what's going on performance wise on the client as well as the server is a place to start. If you have multiple PCs on Ethernet, try playing back the same movie from another PC. See if doing anything like this can narrow down the issue.

Weil in der Filmübersicht hat man ja Untertitel stehen, wenn man das Menü auf deutsch hat. Das lässt sich nicht mittels SQL umschreiben, da es über lang files (Sprachdateien) geregelt ist. Dazu müsste man das paket entpacken und den jeweiligen deutschen text string umschreiben.. Aber, du kannst das als Vorschlag anbringen, die Übersetzung zu verbessern. Leider kann das (sofern du das OSD CC meinst) nicht über SQL umgeschrieben werden.

@Luke I'm seeing the same thing playing back 1080i channels like CBS & NBC. 4.7.0.2 is identifying the stream interlace and refresh rates incorrectly and not deinterlacing properly.

Hi. We're on a very old version of this forum software. Hopefully, newer versions will have more features in this area. We have plans to upgrade but simply have not found a good time yet to completely disrupt everything for a period of hours to do it. We will hopefully find a way to get this done over the coming weeks or couple of months. Thanks.

This is great, but it seems like a lot of work for @@Jdiesel. I think it would be better if there was an autmatically generated forum that displays all, or maybe top X, of the feature requests, minus duplicate or complete, in order from most to least likes.
