Could we get an option for Subtitle Age field under respective section in any library settings? That would define how far back items added would be searched for subtitles. With the ever-growing library, current schema where all items with missing subtitles are constantly queried over-and-over-again, Download subtitles task is starting to take forever. If a movie added 1, 3, 5 or 10 years ago has no subtitles, it is highly unlikely that they would suddenly pop-up. Yet, subtitles are still searched for on every task run. Realistically, we usually need subs just for content added in a last week or two, hence making 99% of current search moot and waste of time and resources. Age field would enable each user to set that timeframe as seen fit, with default blank being equal to 'include all items'. Thanks3 points

I propose to the devs, the option of have a new style of enhanced home screen on emby devices. A banner style spotlight. Wouldn't that be a good idea?3 points

I finally succumbed and put my css up here - You might not like most/any/all of it of course. It has a bit in it near the end (the Moving My Media Down section) to either show an online image you pick (such as a Jurassic World one) which would be fixed till you change it, or it'll show a random background of your existing media. You'll have to comment out stuff and un-comment out stuff too swap between the two. Lots of other bits obviously.3 points

Are there any plans for Android widgets in the next release? I would like to start using Emby for playing and casting music on my phone now that google play music is being discontinued and the replacement youtube music won't play with the phone screen off (!). In my limited testing today, Emby is working for this, but the user experience could be greatly enhanced by a widget or two that would give quick home screen access to playlists and control features. The UI could also use some improvements- when trying to scroll through a playlist with my right hand I always end up rearranging the song order.1 point

Hi, only just noticed this tonight but when attempting to play a trailer via Emby Theatre app on the Xbox I receive the following message "Playback error No compatible streams are currently available. Please try again later or contact your system administrator for details." Just checked the same in the iOS, Web and OSX apps and trailers play fine. Never tried this on the xbox before so not sure if an error or whether I need to config something first, any ideas? Thanks.1 point

If you buy lifetime the probability of using the software for more than at least few years is quite high I would say. Assuming 3 years of usage would mean all this (software + support + development) costs less than 5 bucks a month. Really...?!1 point

This is the same problem that others have described in this topic For some bizarre reason (which Samsung has confirmed to be true) apps take their time zone and daylight saving setting based on the geolocation of the Internet address, not the setting in the tv menu So this means that if your ISP is using dynamic addresses over a large geographic range then it might be getting your Timezone incorrectly Ideally the app needs a client setting to allow users to make some time adjustments to the detected time1 point

Yes have verified working on Windows 7. Really surprised they added the Weak ciphers. @kjhedges @chef1 point

Problem solved thanks to SirSparkles AKA Sparky at TV Rename. TVDB (API v4) added in some additional ciphers so that Win 7 & 8 users can connect now. Latest TLS analysis of api4.thetvdb.com1 point

If you don't want to pony up the few bucks for Emby, that's OK go with JF then but coming over to Emby forum to ask for support is at least impolite... *facepalm*1 point

Hi. The only commit I saw referenced was to LAVFilters which has nothing to do with Exoplayer.1 point

if you are an 'arr user you should look into bazarr. its much more fully featured than emby with regards to getting subtitles. many more providers, the ability to separately search for forced subs and this.1 point

Hello Neik.. I am fixing this now. I am moving from the old tool the code that was developed based on your help and suggestions earlier. Vic1 point

I have just setup Emby about a week ago so I have not added users until I myself can connect remotely and my user profile has "allow remote connections to this Emby server" ticked1 point

@Lukecan you update the API url link to https for Swagger so we don't have to make any changes for localhost. I am currently just updating the dashboard.js.1 point

I always try to help if i can. Instead of being rude, please think about why answered in a sarcastic way and why i cannot help you, why nobody can't you help after your issue reporting.1 point
-
But with the lack of information on server version this could be complete wrong. All we can do is guess without all information from OP. This is one reason log files are required for issues.1 point

Well now that it made it through that error, i cannot seem to force it to reproduce. Ill keep an eye on that log line and see if it triggers again.1 point

WOW 1000 channels!!! OK I understand the problem. I will add a simpler way for you to tag channels. To tag a channel now you just click on the channel name. A menu will appear for you to enter the tags. I will investigate why you cant see all of your channels. Vic1 point

I added a log line to my emby for kodi next gen. Next time i start it up ill take a look. I bet its some weird item like that1 point

Yes, but I just did a test, clearing out all my cache and then just rebuilding the music library with that one track. It seemed to work fine, so that probably isn't it. Is the behavior that if one track within an artist directory is found without album_artist that it immediately defaults the entire artist to the folder name? That's the only thing that I can think of that appears to be happening. I'm going to write a metaflac script to check my entire library and report tracks that don't have album artists, then correct those and see if it works.1 point

Thank you for the feedback. In particular, thank you @SamES for posting the link that has the LG Web OS root certificates (https://webostv.developer.lge.com/discover/specifications/web-engine/). I reviewed them and, unfortunately, none contain the popular Let's Encrypt ISRG Root X1 (https://letsencrypt.org/certificates/). The ISRG Root X1 root certificate used to work because it is cross-signed by DST Root CA X3 but stopped when the DST certificate expired. I filed a LG support request to include the ISRG certificates in Web OS. A few things related to the other thread: - @shocker suggest to update the certificates but only the second method proposed by @adminExitium should work (switch to zerossl) and @rossome's solution should not work unless I'm missing something. - @matty_r reported that the browser still works - I cannot reproduce this. Out of curiosity, has anyone tried/experience with nginx reverse proxies and acme.sh/zerossl?1 point

If you guys really want to replicate what is done in Apple TV, what would need to be done is attach the "spotlight" row to My Media as an option and, as each library gains focus in My media, a different row of spotlight items (from that library) is shown above it. That is exactly what the Apple interface does.1 point

Never had the need for such setup, but AFAIK having both audio and video files in a single folder ain't supported at this time, you can try splitting those to separate folders per type, i.e. \COURSES \SPANISH \VIDEO \class-01.mkv \class-02.mkv \COURSES \SPANISH \AUDIO \class-01.mp3 \class-02.mp3 and then experiment a bit with different library content types: Mixed content, Music Videos, Home Videos, adding those folders separately as library paths in Library setup (+): \COURSES\SPANISH\VIDEO \COURSES\SPANISH\AUDIO See which one will give most satisfactory result for your usage case. Let us know how you get on. Edit: Just did a quick test with Mixed-content type library, getting both audio and video files to show in Folder view with any library path setup, as long as you keep them separated in per-type subfolder: 1. \COURSES\SPANISH\VIDEO \COURSES\SPANISH\AUDIO or 2. \COURSES\SPANISH or 3. \COURSES It all depends how do you want them presented, with folder navigation or all presented at top level, flattened folder structure.1 point

Totally agree, we should be able to restore the previous play queue on any device (specific to that device), regardless of the music/audio books distinction. We've actually already done the work for this in some apps, however it's only used in certain contexts (android auto, carplay, etc). So I'll put this on the short term to do list to apply it everywhere.1 point

Only certain clients will use the optional path - namely the Shield (if setup to do so) or the Windows Theatre Clients. There are two ways to verify - one is to look for the stream type to be FILE in stats for nerds, the other is to simply look on the host server OS and see if the file is being directly accessed.1 point
