One challenge with this display on a wide screen, as much as I love it, is we don't have artwork for it that is a perfect match. The banner image type is the closest in aspect ratio, but won't look sharp if we have to blow it up and increase it in size. Or we could take a middle portion of the backdrop image, but I already know the complaints we'll get over having to crop it. In portrait orientation, on a smart phone for example, there would be no problem though. But the more I look at it on Apple TV, the more I want it in Emby, so I'd like to try and find a way.3 points

Not sure if I'm using the right term but I searched every think I could think of. It's likely it already exists so I apologize in advance. Is there a while to filter OUT. For instance if I wanted to see all movies EXCEPT a specific genre for example. I know I can filter to see all action movies for instance but how about filtering so it shows ALL BUT Horror. Is that possible now or even feasible as a future item? Thanks for taking time.2 points

Can you include an "add tags" option in the context menu for all library types? It would make it much easier to add tags which I use frequently.2 points

as much as I'd love a proper amp and speaker set-up I just cant be doing with speaker positioning, pulling carpet up to put speaker cable down etc. The Arc for all its faults does sounds great with One SL rears, good enough for me anyway and the set-up is minimalist, I like minimal, less stuff for my 5 year old girls to wreck2 points

@blade005@Brendon This (unfortunately) was "fixed" back in May in the Beta channel. I thought it would have made it's way into the Stable builds prior to 4.6.6.0. But if you're just noticing this now, maybe it hadn't.2 points

further examination of the logs show that it might be a permission issue. System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: System.Net.Sockets.SocketException (13): Permission denied It's possible that when emby updated their version of ffmpeg, the new version wasn't given proper permissions. that is only a guess. We'll wait to see if Luke has time to respond. We probably stumbled on a beta bug, which is actually great work.2 points

@KenHe Is there a common theme to the name of your files? I'm trying to understand why your files are named that way, do all have "junk.com@" in the beginning or is this some kind of an identifier that is only for your use? I ask because I also have identifiers in all my file names that are for my use only and I have them named as such that they do not cause problems with emby scraping metadata. If this is the case you should be able to use a utility like Bulk Rename Utility to easily rename them into a compliant format. You can find it here https://www.bulkrenameutility.co.uk/ and if you need any help I will do my best if I can. If this is a possible solution I will tell you that the forums at Bulk Rename Utility is full of helpful people that will help you in configuring BRU to rename your files as needed. It can get pretty tricky and they are a knowledgeable bunch that have helped me a lot.2 points

I would like this to be configurable on / off and not random. The server administrator should be able to manually define the content of this section. It would be useful for my family, especially for older members who feel uncomfortable browsing libraries.2 points

I moved from Plex to Emby and even though I think Emby is superior in its flexibility there are some things I like better with Plex, especially in terms of its looks. This theme is trying to fix that by making it a bit more similar to Plex but with some, in my opinion, improvements. The CSS is attached to this post for anyone interested and below are some screens to show it off Good to know I only use Chrome so I can't guarantee this CSS works as expected in other browsers. If you want the sidebar menu to look like in the screens, make sure to pin the sidebar. Watched badge/banderoll is inverted which means that the badge will not be shown if media have been watched, like in Plex. For desired look, please use the "Dark" theme for both Theme & Settings theme in the display settings. Emby-Stable-style-v3.6.txt1 point

As a manually edited 'spotlight' chosen by the Admin - then I think it is reasonable to have them to do a bit of work to get it showing correctly. Maybe present all the background 'options' from whatever is available (showing the relevant 'crops') - and then have a separate option to overlay the 'logo' if you want to. Banners are a great option for phones and even web browsers - but on a 4K 65" TV they are gonna look bad....1 point

It's a 'Home videos & photos' Library. The library just points to a single folder with the 3 x jpg's in it which are 'banner' jpg's renamed with a '-poster' appended so they can be used by the associated .strm file. The .strm file points to the real media. That makes them 'playable', otherwise you just get picture when you click it1 point

@rbjtech these days encryption is becoming more and more important and I decided to use it also internally in my LAN wherever possible. Most likely, as you said, it is not required as it does not give me more security in a sense that I need to protect things, but it simply gives me a better feeling of having a more secure infrastructre and device communication in general . Who knows what the future brings1 point

I'm definitely going to extend the Emby interface I already have. If the echo show 15 has calendar options, and widget applications... Like I think it might... (Still unsure until I see the thing)... I would definitely like to integrate embys upcoming lists for tv shows, and also recently added items from the library. Have it all in one central area. Also, it might be cool to create notifications on the screen for currently playing items and the devices they are playing on. Just incase my kids decide that they are old enough to watch something they shouldn't.1 point

I'll admit you should buy a new soundbar with HDMI input1 point

I believe those are totally different things. Bulk editing is definitely needed, but it doesn't help to quickly add a tag/grouping to an item. Tags are more like collections which currently are in the context menu, so an item can be quickly added to a collection. I think if collections are in the context menu, tags should be too.1 point

Don't know your exact model, but that should not require router restart. Make sure it's a TCP rule, though.1 point

hi luke Already manage to resolve. I couldn't find the file with the pin code Sorry to bother.1 point

Sorry, what do you mean you don't know? In above rule you posted screenshot of, just replace 8920 with 8096? And change to TCP.1 point

Apologies for the delay. Was dealing with unrelated server issues. That appears to have worked. Procedure below: Move Series and Series Clone folders outside of your scanned library folder Scan Library Files for the affected Library and wait for it to complete Confirm both Series and Series Clone were removed from Emby Edit the tvshow.nfo file for the Series Clone. Find any id fields (at the series level only - you don't have to edit actor id fields), and append a bunch of 9's to the end (I chose 6), and save the tvshow.nfo file Add both series back to the scanned library folder Scan Library Files for the affected Library After this, Emby finally sees the two series as unique.1 point

yeah. Linux seems to be having permission issues with a udp web socket connection in the recent beta release. It seems to have something to do the ffmpeg suite.1 point

Hi there, firstly, awesome work on the plugin! I've been running the plugin across my library and checking for any problems, I've noticed an intro detection 'miss' in Star Trek: The Original Series for Season 1 Episode 13. It's flagged the intro as occurring at 00:00, instead of around 04:23.. Fast Detection is off, and confidence is at the default 0.6, everything else in the season seems to have been detected properly (screenshot below). Happy to send logs across if needed (let me know which ones please!) if you're unable to verify this yourselves. [EDIT] Log Output: Cheers.1 point

Totally agree, we should be able to restore the previous play queue on any device (specific to that device), regardless of the music/audio books distinction. We've actually already done the work for this in some apps, however it's only used in certain contexts (android auto, carplay, etc). So I'll put this on the short term to do list to apply it everywhere.1 point

It's not in Package Center yet because it generally takes a few weeks to get through the Synology review process. So you have the option of waiting for that or installing manually if you want it right away.1 point
-
This is the preferred way to mount remote shares on Synology. Go to Tools menu and select the Mount Remote Folder. You can use either CIFS or NFS but most likely will use CIFS. This will bring up a screen similar to Once you create this Mount you will have a new shared on your main system that points to the ds200j and you'll be able to add this new mount directly to Emby Server. Let us know if you have any problems.1 point

The only issue I see is that auto update for Emby is disabled in PC which I hope works itself out after the first install from the store1 point
