Okay So i have done the following: BBFC Original - Tidied Up Create BBFC - NO LOGO versions MPAA - Made some changes, as too much going on so MPAA and Emby Logo Fade and static instead of breathe, Certbox is still breathing animations, all lines in cert box now join correctly, whilst not noticeable to be fair my OCD was like Nope not having that Created MPAA - NO LOGO versions as well for those that like it clean Inside each folder is also a text file, this file contains the link to that specific versions template on Canva, you can use that link with a free account to edit make changes add your own logo etc and then re-export for yourself, simple to use and gives you some flexibility. I was uploading to drive and then remembered it blooming well converts every video you upload so instead i whipped up a quick dropbox link for them BBFC - MPAA Video Title Screens @Cheesegeezer feel free to move those you want into your central repo Update Now added Australian No Logo, not sure if the naming is correct however as not sure what it appears as in EMBY so may need renaming

The missing extra titles and descriptions are restored for the next release of that server.

How are you connected to your server there? IP:port or app.emby.media?

Do you mean "group items into collections"? If so that would be in the view setting. In the web app you click the 3 dots to get the option.

I just started experimenting with live TV on Emby. Support for multiple sources and multiple EPGs is simply fantastic. After many year of experience, one thing I have learned is that maintaining my own M3U solves many useability issues regardless of the DVR/Media system you are using. I use epg.best for this. Super cheap. When I talk the epg.best M3U and add it to Emby, there's no filtering as only my custom lineup is included. Note that maintaining a quality M3U takes some time. And you won't have access to new channels and such without updating that M3U. But it suits my preferences well.

This is likely your issue - the non Pro Shield still has issues playing high bitrate 4K files - it's a bug in the hardware causing memory leaks and it's crippled 32bit OS, thus it crashes when it runs out of memory after playing for a short while. Same issue using Pl*x - it's the hardware that is at fault I'm afraid.

So, I had a bit of a chance to tackle the elephant in the room.... which was ---- personal bumpers, if selected, they played for all 3 section regardless of whether they were wanted or not. I have now split this out so you can decide at which section you wish to play any personal bumpers. This is an example of a personal bumper Just load in your path and then simply use the Checkbox at the top of which section you want to play your personal bumper. It hasn't been added to the Watched movies section, but if you want it added, let me know.

Hello all, sorry that we've been very quiet on this side of things but as you will see we have been very busy improving IntroSkip even more to bring a full featured and rounded plugin. I'll let you see if you can spot the upgrades We are still testing at the moment and then will do some polishing of the UI and performance improvements and then we will let it lose to you lot for a grueling testing phase before hopefully a final release.

So I have some playlists of music I want to download for offline play for when I don't have internet connection (like when I'm driving) - then I went to download the playlist I click the download button and it downloads all the albums associated with the playlist, however it does not actually download the playlist itself. Is this normal behavior or am I doing something wrong?

Many titles are so long with sequel names they are meaningless. Would it be possible to add a second title line or something similar? I have looked for a way to lower the text size but didn't see anything. Maybe there is another way to fit more in?

Hi, I'm a big fan for emby server, and I love to fill my metadata with useful information about the content using Tags; I feel it will be much more powerful if Tags can be auto-completed based on previous tag entries. a drop down list also will do a good job. thanks, DaN

Okay so this idea has come from a cpl of queries i got from my old mother when having issues. As techy people the current app install and setup is second nature but to those who expect a netflix open and forget experience will be sorely dissapointed. It would be great if upon first install of the app a sort of mini setup guide would step page by page on a couple of essential items: Maximum Streaming Bitrate One screen to either do a broadband speedtest and set this variable or just allow a manual selection with a header like " What is the maximum broadband speed available?" Reason - The auto setting which is default has proved a pain in the backside incorrectly detecting broadband speed and then resulting in a file rated at 3mbps transcoding on a 100mbps line due to alleged insufficient bandwidth. As soon as i explained to se this, the file played correctly. Startup Behaviour Again a simple setting which is hidden away and causes confusion, especially as the default is in my view the wrong one A simple screen asking them to select the default. As most are probably single user accounts the default should be "Login as this user automatically" explaining this option is best for single users or "Let me chose each time i open the app" which would then be set to the current default select user/server screen. I forgot to set this screen and then got a "what the hell is this message" when she next logged on. What was the end result of this? Her words " this is too much faffing around im going back to netflix" Which to be fair was fine by me as saves me getting support requests and means im back to having my media to myself lol Anyways just a thought

There's a huge difference between the way how ffmpeg/ffprobe. work and what MediaInfo does: MediaInfo just reads some file headers to know what it is. That's really easy to do and the information is publicly available. It's not decoding, it's just like reading how things are labelled. But when ffmpeg adds support for a codec, it actually implements support for this - like for example for HDR10+: When it gets implemented in ffmpeg, it will be able to actually decode the HDR frame data and make it available for processing in filters (most importantly: tone mapping) or re-encoding. These things are at least partially being worked on (at the side of ffmpeg). Right in the current week there were some new submissions, so this is really "live". It will take some time until there will be something useful and reliable, but once it will have come to that point, we'll surely deliver that. PS: don't get crazy for Dolby Vision. This is a very general term for a multitude of formats/profiles. If this would be more frequently used in the future, I can already promise that we'll all have a lot of fun with it..

Got it working by followed the instructions provided and they are now showing and I tested a couple of movies so far and it seems to be picking up on the correct rating 90% of the time. Still way 1000% better then 0% of the time LOL! You all rock! Question do you all think it would be worth adding the TV rating as some movies are based on TV shows like Scooby-doo, Lego Movies etc?.. Synology DS918+ here: 8+8 GB of RAM in dual channel 256+256 GB of cheapest NVME I could find at the moment (EMTEC X300) A pair of 6 TB WD Purple (objectively the most silent CMR drives I could find). Will buy more once space starts getting scarce (I love SHR-1). Aaaanyway, any cheap NVME that you set up as read/write cache will make your NAS go a lot faster on small file transfers, data base IO... and Emby's menu! DSM 7 does a friggin' great job with the NVME cache. RAM in dual channel mode might be helping too.

Please provide the ffmpeg log for this example.

Everything I tried shows artifacts in Edge/Chrome so I am guessing a Chromium bug as you noticed works fine in Firefox. Luke is already using transform on some card elements (virtualScrollItem) that is why it does not work on all div.card. I've turned off Sleep and my Shield has stayed up for a couple hours now while playing music. As mentioned before though I've never seen my Shield shut down while playing music with ET so not sure what it is. Still no screensaver though. Doesn't matter what screen I'm sitting at it doesn't show up unless I go into settings and start it manually. Shield 2019 pro direct file access in case that matters Other than that I can't see why it works for some and not for others

The tags folder is just some examples that i use for films that have specific tags that i set. So no the MPAA ones are the correct ones. The tags folder can be used for specially assigned tags so for example i have a collection of extreme cinema, so i make sure i tag them extreme and then vantage point matches it and plays the warning. Are your Movies metadata contain american ratings? I know the early version of the plugin did have an issue but i think that was fixed months ago

With respect, there is a noticeable difference between 4K remux files vs compressed 'stream' copies, yet alone the bitrates you are suggesting. HD Audio is also a significant part of the storage used on the UHD disk. If you are happy with 4K @ 720p bitrates - then that's fine but please do not suggest to others that they will not notice any difference...

Server is app.emby.media, Desktop is IP address: Port. I tried localhost:8096 on the server and it works!!!!! That was genius. Thanks a lot.

I suggest not using "high bitrate" files the improvement is marginal, at best, and the load is quite high. I do not know anyone that can see any real difference between normal bitrate files and the huge ones that some people use. Not one of my movies is above 5gb in total size and most are under 2tb. I have tested other settings that produce high bitrates and large files but I see no important differences. I just use settings that produce a file of 1.5 to 2.5 tb and the resulting files are quite viewable and even my daughter and granddaughters have no complaints. The trick is to produce files that look good to you and your most critical viewers. Once you have that figured out you will, probably, end up with your files eating less disk space and looking just as good as the ones that hog excessive disk space.

Just tested this. I started playing music, backed out to the app Home Screen and 5 minutes later, my Shield's screensaver started. Also does it if I exit the app via the Exit Now option.

Until the Networks tab gets added you can filter on Networks in ATV

When playing on the Shield TV is it direct playing? Click the cog menu and select stats for nerds to see this info. Can also long press the center/ok button to bring this up/remove it.

Hice lo que me dijiste y si que funcionaba, lo que me llevó a pensar que era un problema de permisos y efectivamente, así era, cambié la contraseña de la cuenta de administrador para programar un reinicio diario pero accidentalmente cambié la contraseña de la cuenta de servicio. Esto provocó que Emby no tuviera permiso para ejecutarse si no se iniciaba sesión en la cuenta destinada al servicio. Volví a quitar la contraseña, eliminé la cuenta de servicio, creé una nueva, instale de nuevo Emby como servicio y funcionó. Muchas gracias por tu tiempo y por este impresionante centro multimedia.

If more details are needed I can provide them but this is what I did. First I noticed that I needed to find a public key and a private one: Since I didn't know which keys I needed, I did a search on that same thread and came to the conclusion that it was the fullchain.pem privkey.pem Then I noticed that the keys were stored in the path /usr/local/etc/letsencrypt/live/mydomain.com/fullchain.pem /usr/local/etc/letsencrypt/live/mydomain.com/privkey.pem for my current jail so I decided to create a brand new jail named "nginx", copy those keys over, create the same directories, and place those keys (plus 2 more keys that were in that path) in the new nginx jail: After restarting the new nginx jail with the new keys and nginx.conf file, I still was not able to connect remotely. Then I remembered that all traffic was being redirected to the "old" nginx jail, so I logged into my router, and made sure that ports 80 and 443 were pointing to the new nginx's jail IP. While remote access to Emby is fixed, I have discovered that a certbot renewal command was being executed on the old jail: which means that I need to install certbot on the nginx jail and configure it to renew every 90 days.

Thanks everyone! Adjusting the bitrate option seems to have done the trick. 100MB was the highest option (right under "Auto") so I left it there and the files appear to stream just fine, and in HDR! There is a little "white noise" flicking periodically, but I need to check the file itself and see if it's there as well or if it's a streaming issue. I think the core issue has been solved, though. Thank you!

Just knocked up a draft MPAA version a cpl of minor tweaks as they dont have decent enough pngs to use, so had to bodge it manually, text and colour from trusty ole wikipedia, colours as close to those on their also but not being from the states these could be well wrong lol

Not sure what you mean by "there is no ownership of content in Emby", but my daughter has her own libraries. She can only see her libraries. I'd like her to be able to refresh the metadata for the content in her libraries.

A couple of people on here do this for a few channels via custom scripts. Unless there is some unique way to tell these channels from others it would be difficult to script as a general utility that anyone could use.

It was renamed which is why you probably can't find it. We actually have 2 similar features. There is a convert feature which you the admin can access on the 3 dot menu from any media. You can pick different profiles like Mobile for example and choose to replace the original or put it onside the original. There is also a "download to" feature which is what you're likely referring to with sync. This is just like above where you can pick a profile and convert the media if needed but then it transfer the media to a client device which is usually a mobile/tablet device. You will see the "download to" on the same menu as above. You can control what users have access to this as well on the user's access tab under the section "Downloads". Hope that helps

I don't think xTeVe can do anything with these channels. Many providers do this for PPV and sporting events. Something like this is likely going to need a custom solution that's setup for your lineup.

It also appears you've used the Video and Movies multiple times as well. You want to setup your libraries so content is added once and only once to any library. So you would never directly mount dietpi_userdata but instead would mount Movies in one library and Video in another library. The log is also showing a permission problem: Access to the path '/mnt/datas/dietpi_userdata/filebrowser' is denied. Make sure that's a proper folder and that you've set permissions for Emby Server to access it. I'm also seeing these errors: Access to the path '/mnt/datas/dietpi_userdata/mysql' is denied. Access to the path '/mnt/datas/dietpi_userdata/nextcloud_data' is denied. @Luke Do you know where Emby Server gets installed on this OS? I ask because of this access error with mysql folder: Access to the path '/mnt/datas/dietpi_userdata/mysql' is denied.

I love using emby, so does the wife, and if there any issues I turn to the forum for support. Not only does the staff dive right in to help so do the other members.

Oh my god i finally found the Emby Fanboy thread where some people glorify the Emby Devs like superhumans. Dont get me wrong, i have an Emby Lifetime License and i think that Emby is a good piece of software, but it is not perfect. There are bugs like the non working WOL integration or long lasting feature requests (eg more or individual notifications) which takes ages to be fixed or implemented. Really often you read: Good idea for future releases but than nothing happens. Must be frustrating for some users. Also because Emby and the clients is closed source software there is not much you can do about it but wait. I can imagine why it is closed software thought, because there wasnt enough benefit by community work and the fact that it was too easy for people to steal premium features. Valid point. But lets be honest there was never really a chance for community developers to work on Emby because of the lack of documentation and comments in the source code. But it is like that now. Regarding Jellyfin i took a spin with them in 2020 and it wasnt good. The Server was not stable, there was no Android TV app (is there now?), so it wasnt very satisfying. From what i have seen they also shut down their Forum only communicating via reddit etc. I dont know if it was a good choice for them to fork Emby 3.5 instead from beginning a new project because of the reasons i mentioned earlier. We see what future brings. Someone brought up that there are not so many plugins for Jellyfin, are there more working ones for Emby, or better to ask is the number increasing? I dont think so. For community developers it is hard to write and maintain plugins for Emby, which means on some point they just give up. Thinking of the TVHeadend Plugin or outside Projects like Embystat (which was a plugin before). Like i already said, i really like Emby. And it is astounding how much work is done by ebr and Luke.

There is a mechanism for what you want. If you visit 'thetvdb.com' and find your programme you will see all of the seasons plus specials. If you create a 'Season 0' folder in Emby and put your specials in there and label them according to the thetvdb.com, e.g. s00e01 then you will see them appear in the appropriate season when you browse the media. If you have items that are not listed as specials there doesn't appear to be an agreed standard as yet.
