  1. I can confirm that chromaprint is working on the LinuxServer Emby docker (Stable) container. Just finished Audio fingerprinting.

  2. That .db file contains all the data the plugin uses: fingerprints and found intro points. Once we have calculated the intro points, the majority of the fingerprint data already gets cleaned up from the db file since we don’t really need it anymore. For this reason, we recommend backing it up before running the detection task simply to save time if you ever have to run the detection from scratch. We can’t re-detect an intro without that fingerprint data. At the moment, we’re basically only making changes to the detection task, which is why you can simply re-use a copy of the db which contains only fingerprints if you want to test detection improvements.

  3. I would change the access for remote servers if I knew how. Tell me what to do and I will change it. Remember that I am not a professional. I am just a guy that knows a little about javascript and jQuery. I learned some of the Emby API through trial and error. I admit it was fun and I enjoyed learning. So point me in the right direction and I will try and implement what you want. I appreciate all of your comments and suggestions. They have all greatly improved the tool. Vic

  5. OK, the days have ticked by because I was changing to a different ISP. But now it is solved. I was entering my folder as \\RonbMedia\MyMedia\Movies-recent but what I needed to enter was /volume1/MyMedia/Movies-recent I feel a bit foolish for being slow to differentiate between Network Folders and Local Folders, but once I got it right, Emby has been running like a charm, and it is so much better that Video Station for large libraries. Thanks for all your help along the way.

  6. You are absolutely correct - it doesn't work for me either now I've realised what you are trying to do (external HTTPS access) .. sorry ! I've only ever used this on the LAN - ie the local address over http - never over https. I think it may have something to do with the API key not having sufficient rights to login remotely - which is a good thing tbh. If I could use just an API key to get access to my server remotely, I would be very concerned ...

  7. I think i have fixed that damn "INDEX OUT OF RANGE ISSUE" - What a little bar steward that was. Something so simple but the re-ordering of the chapters really got me confused. Anyways i will have a release up in the Instructions thread shortly. For those getting the Chapter Task (Failed) when running the task - You will only need to run the chapter task after loading the plugin and restarting emby. It should just pick up from where you left off. Hopefully you report everything is working well now.

  11. Hey up. There's few things to point out there, so let's start with the first one: Yes, there is such setting, "Import collection information from metadata downloaders", in addition to "Minimum automatic collection size dropdown (where you set minimum number of items collection should be comprised of) which I assume was selected when you created your library initially. Hence you got those auto-Collections created. You "didn't set up a "Collections" Library - only Movies and TV Shows" as it is auto-created library, a "virtual" one, as per your library settings selection. Also, if you opted to store NFOs with your media, <set> tag would be read from those and Collections auto-created. Yes, 4.6. introduced change in Collections location, as you've already surmised, all collection data is now stored in install-dir\programdata\metadata\collections. There's no xmls anymore but NFOs in appropriate subfolders, that store collection information. However, on existing setups both locations are still used, you can migrate them all to new location via @pünktchen Migration plugin: That ain't feasible, as stated above, you can only do the opposite, bring old install in line with new server setup. Hope this helps.

  12. @CBers - the FP task to create the initial titlesequence.db file is not changing during these releases, it's just the detection that is being improved. So once FP has finished, shutdown emby and just copy this db file elsewhere. You then have a version that can be quickly restored to test with new detect enhancements as required - no need to do the FP again. The detect task, removes the FP data as it processes - hence once you have run the Detect task, you lose the FP data on successfully identified shows/episodes.

  13. Hi, There are a lot of filters available and we can do every possible filtering combinations today with that. Still one missing, the possibility to filter by country. Today there are a lot of local productions and it will be fun to filter for instance all movies coming from China, Russia or France! Think would be great!

  14. While being able to logically move media from one library to another would be a nice first step. Ultimately it would be nice for the move to physically move the media from one folder to another (since doing a logical move for a bunch of media from say, kids to not-kids, and vice versa will make physical locations pretty confusing). Trying to avoid having to drop into the cli to do it... I don't mind, pure convenience factor, just thought I'd throw it on the queue. Thanks Latest ATV update is sick, btw. Well done.

  15. Hey, Just a quick question of VVC Codec (H.266) to see if this will be support by emby once they have released it fully to the public. VVC was released at the end of 2020 for testing on OTT companies etc and hopefully should be releasing it to the public domain fairly soon. of course there soon may be 2 years but would just like to ask if its something that is possible. EDIT : If you would also like to have this improvement/feature please give a like on this post so that the devs can see how much/little demand it currently has Thanks guys

  16. While Emby already has recommendations built in based on previously watched items I find they are not all that helpful. They seem to be based on genre only, for example, because you watched a comedy here are other comedies in your library. I do like how the also directed by/appear in recommendations work though. What would be great is if Emby could incorporate Trakt's recommendations as they are much more sophisticated. Trakt's recommendations are not only based off of what you have previously watched but also what your Trakt friends and other Trakt users have watched. It takes user ratings and trending/popular media into account. Ideally Emby would include full Trakt integration allowing users to rate media after watching, view lists and recommendations, and view upcoming media all from within Emby but for now I think recommendations would be a nice addition. Trakt has the potential to give Emby that community feel and allow users to discover new media, find something to watch, and recommend media to other users. http://docs.trakt.apiary.io/#reference/recommendations

  17. Could we get the option to (or the system automatically detect and set) the number of thumbnail extraction processes that can be run? Rebuilding my library is taking a long long time due to the fact that the thumbnail extract only runs on one media item at a time - server is currently sat with ~30% cpu usage.

  18. I understand your question, and I often prefer this myself, although I know others had issues with the subs being too low as it takes their focus away from the main image, so this is really an issue of user preference. This release has a change which standardises subtitle handling with other Emby clients and means features such as customisable opacity, background color, etc works the same for all apps, which is why you have seen a change. @Luke, is there likely to be an option available in the future to push the subtitles down lower for users that prefer it?

  20. Big thanks to @cayars for finding the problem and fixing it. It was the Avast update. It set my home network to "untrusted" so it blocked Emby. The solution was to simply check the "trusted" box in Avast.

  22. I think you need to start a fresh. shut down emby and delete the titlesequence.db. Run the fingerprint and detection process again.

  24. No, there isn't: But it was there before: Yes, it was there for years. I've used it (at least the info in the overview) all the time. Actually with every newly added movie to quickly check if I need to create a new collection. And I always found it very useful. Therefore it would be really great if the collection info could be shown again in the movie overview (well, and also in the metadata).

  26. This is what I do, once the FP has completed, I shutdown emby. Go to C:\Users\***user***\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\data Copy and paste the titlesequence.db and then rename the titlesequence - copy.db to titlesequence.fp (fingerprint)

  28. Finish the FP task, then stop Emby, copy the DB somewhere (and rename the copy if you want) then restart Emby. That copied DB will serve as a checkpoint, and you can reuse it later to avoid redoing the FP task.

  30. That's not the actual issue he's reporting. That is by design. However, there is an option now to change that behavior. What he is saying is that, when that happens, his continue watching isn't updated. I'm thinking this is due to the combined continue watching and him shuffle playing the series. So, he doesn't see the item he expects to.

  32. @rbjtech maybe a better approach might be trying to use a private VPN like openVPN or similar. I've done this in the past to run 3 remote HDHomeruns to get additional sports coverage besides my local market. I don't know if recent firmware has changed the way this would work as I don't do it over VPN anymore. I'd be happy to work with you on this to get it working and could do some limited testing as well. This could be helpful to the devs in troubleshooting & testing the UK streams I would think.

  33. New version available: 6.0.9 build 36 (ex4) Delta changelog: - add partial sync for homevideos - minor sync queue improvements - add user when using multi Emby server issue - db lockup fixed - multiserver queue jobs - rollback userrating modification. Value is back from 0-10 not 0-100 - fix xsp playlists Comment: I removed several try -> except coding. I wanna know, what causes an issue and not just ignore them. This could cause in errors if there are any... At least if there are issue, I can see them in the logs... No database resync required unless you wanna change the userration format.

  34. With bitrate doubling I would think a phone would have a issue with 88Mbps conversion.
    1 point
  35. Yes, if you want them the same, that makes sense to me When it is 0-100 it breaks skins, Amber for example shows the rating logo with a blank "%" string. I was just pointing out they could be different formats if you wanted.
    1 point
  36. Well, yes but I don't wanna use different formats for the same value. This is just confusing... I would say, we keep all from 0-10. Actually, that's why I changed it in the first place. I assume, he can live with that...

  41. They have to be missing metadata or they would be linked. Do you write nfo files? If so please proved for specific example. But I would bet if you did a Refresh-search for missing on the items that are part of a collection then collection is displayed.
    1 point
  42. Depends on whether both items have the proper metadata and recorded to the database to meet the linking requirements. But specific example with existing metadata info is needed.

  43. I would Like to suggest to everyone to run the fingerprint task and stop Don't do anything else. We may have improved the detection quite considerably so we are just Dev testing at the moment to see how the results fair. If it's good we will release and let you go loose with it.

  44. What's the 517 extension system? Yea I did think about making notes as to the paths but figured anyone advanced enough to know how to install to a different volume would be smart enough to look at the copy or chown command and know to change the paths to their own location. Sometimes less is more (I've learned) so not trying to handle every exception is better as it already seems like a lot of steps. Besides if the migration didn't work I think most people would make a post and ask.
