  1. New version available: delta changelog: - improve progress updates - redesign sync - fix trakt issue - fix invalid content sync Actually, there are many changes under the hood, and it's a more experimentalish version as the previous ones. Also a complete db reset is mandatory. Please just update the plugin, the DB reset should be triggered automatically (also improvements there and it's part of the test). Progress updates (from emby to Kodi) should now be instant without any possible overhead. I'm still not 100% happy with progress updates from Kodi to emby server. I'm still working on it, but it's tricky. I try to migrate as many as possible commands/updates from http queries to websocket queries (Kodi -> Emby). (Emby -> Kodi) is already using this approach since ever, but there were many unnecessary (kodi) DB queries involved. I removed all of them to a bare minimum. Actually this is were the performance upgrades came from. Also the sync should be a little faster than before. @heula Please try this version, I hope it fixes the recording issues too.

  3. I understand, as stated above, but seeing a thread that looks like an endless row of screaming hardly encourages anyone to take part. Nor it will likely bring you any good-will from either the Devs or the community. What you need to understand is that there are features that have been requested for years and have not been implemented yet, there's a priority list and only so much can be done in certain timeframe and with limited resources. Do I have some of those? Yep. Does it piss me off? Yep. But not much to do except bump it up every now and then and hope fot the best.

  4. The latest Beta (4.7.0.9) contains the required ffmpeg as part of the update process. It's needs to be an 'emby' ffmpeg as it has many enhancements over the standard ffmpeg. At the moment, I would suggest testing on a separate beta instance (run on another port) with a limited size TV test library. The plugin will not harm anything - but it has the potential to grab all the resource as it is a very intensive task to chromeprint all the episodes and then detect the Intro sequence of each one. The chromaprint technology has been 'working' for a couple of weeks with a very high success rate (amazing work from @samuelqwe & @chef ), the work happening now is how to 'control' the task and make it scalable - ie make it ready for the masses to test without breaking systems ..

  5. I am guessing this /movie folder is a mixed content type library as a series can not be in a movie content type library. Now your structure and naming of One Piece is in Absolute number scheme. So the series has to be recognized before the episode can be identified. Easiest way should be putting all the episodes in a /One Piece/Season 1 folder and once identified as a series change the display order to Absolute.

  6. That will end you as a spammer, and sure you do not want that, please try to post complete post, not a post every minute or so. You can now edit your post with time as 10 mins, then you can not. I was testing something, now "Member" group can edit their post within 10 mins timing from the original post time.

  8. if not, you may want to do an iperf test between devices. I had buffering issues, mainly only over wifi, but I noticed things like fast forwarding in recordings being laggy and rare hiccups in 4k movies over Ethernet. Iperf test showed me that transferring from any device to my server was all over the place but down to 5KBps. Turns out it was the server NIC. Replaced it, and everything been good since.

  10. I'd really like to have 2 Factor Authentication added to the login screen. It's just this (optional) extra layer of security to help secure the server (which, especially if people use camera uploads) contains pretty private data. There are for every type of programming language quite a few libraries available, so implementation on a server shouldn't be too hard to realise

  12. While Emby already has recommendations built in based on previously watched items I find they are not all that helpful. They seem to be based on genre only, for example, because you watched a comedy here are other comedies in your library. I do like how the also directed by/appear in recommendations work though. What would be great is if Emby could incorporate Trakt's recommendations as they are much more sophisticated. Trakt's recommendations are not only based off of what you have previously watched but also what your Trakt friends and other Trakt users have watched. It takes user ratings and trending/popular media into account. Ideally Emby would include full Trakt integration allowing users to rate media after watching, view lists and recommendations, and view upcoming media all from within Emby but for now I think recommendations would be a nice addition. Trakt has the potential to give Emby that community feel and allow users to discover new media, find something to watch, and recommend media to other users. http://docs.trakt.apiary.io/#reference/recommendations

Proof of concept: We have tested the proof of concept and are now continuing to expand the platform, which is of course linked to Emby. Tested functionality and implemented; Connect users with external dashboard (connect uid's) Link devices to user Make groups / invite other users Sync video with each other or group Resync in group Groupchat Possible ideas Discord connection (chat, sync, profile pictures) Discord auto voicechannel (only users who are in the group) Share this dashboard with the community Dashboard: Join room (select device): Active group session with chat: Will be updated!

  14. Please read this post first. I was wondering if it would be possible to add something that would allow you to skip the intro to shows automatically while binge watching. When watching Netflix it does this for some shows, and im not sure if thats a feature of Netflix itself or a Chrome extension i use called "Flix Assist" but it would be a nice feature to have within Emby as well. and possibly even create a custom timed skip for specific shows

  16. Hi there: My current set-up involves a music library stored on a QNAP web server running an Asset UPnP server and played through a HEOS at home and through the Emby web interface at work. One of the really nice features of Emby as opposed to Plex is that it allows for access to playlists created in the web interface through its media server. However the Emby media server is *not* as reliable as the Asset Server. But, I cannot make playlists directly through Asset, but it will read and play m3u playlists that are saved on the NAS. It would be really great help if Emby playlists could be *automatically exported or synced to m3u lists in real-time.* This would let me play with, create or modify playlists in Emby and then have those immediately and always available on my HEOS. Thank you.

  17. I use a remote server, one problem with the androidtv/firetv app, is that it wont load the fanart, thumbs (as background images), sometimes it loads one or two and thats all, on the these client, I think the problem is that the timeout for loading the images it too low. The images loads perfectly on all other apps, emby for ios, emby android mobile, emby samsung tv, emby theater, emby web, kodi embycon/embynext gen. Could you turn up the timeout setting for image loading on emby for androidtv/firetv app, or maybe using the same timeout amount as the other clients?

  22. We all have our own personal request(s) we think should be part of the base and can't imagine why it's not. I personally want to be able to select the type of audio my system can support (ie DTS-HD and number of tracks) and have the client automatically select the track that will direct play with the most audio tracks vs selecting the default 2 channel audio track. While selecting this for each individual movie isn't a big deal it's a pain when using playlists or TV Shows when the next episode auto plays and drops back to 2 channel (my default) audio track. So I do sympathize with your request just as @GrimReaper does but know we (users and team) have our own little pet peeves we don't like and would like to have changed. Each new release includes some of these user requested changes. One of the ways these changes get implemented is via the Request forums where issues can be discussed (both pro and con) to see how the implementation would affect the vast user base. So lets have a good conversation about this topic which helps everyone.

  23. Been using your Emby for Kodi addon under CoreELEC for a long time. Just installed your latest update (plugin.video.emby-next-gen-6.0.5-build 122 (ex9)), and now all I get is "Gathering: Add Library" and "processing updates". I uninstalled your addon, and cleaned the library....... All your other updates have worked without many issues.

  25. Can you post a server log, but almost sounds like you missed a step. - From Control Panel go to Shared Folder and edit each share that is used by Emby Server. Click the share, then EDIT, go to permission tab, select System internal user from drop down, grant emby user read/write access.

  26. Hm, wouldn't think so (although didn't follow realted topics as that presents no interest to my own needs, so there might as well be) , but you can achieve something similar with Iconic plugin, which would put an overlay icon on your media images for each language you set it for, therefore making an easy identification of such. Edit: Upon re-reading, nope, that won't work, different languages need to be recognized first. What you could do, though, is simply copy same subtitle and append language flag, so you have same subtitle as xxx.zh-hant.srt and xxx.en.srt.

  28. Whether you change it prior to playback on the item details screen, during playback via the OSD, or at some other time when setting things up, it takes exactly the same amount of time. Your complaint is irrelevant.

  32. the vacuum task - What I did is cheat the system a bit by running the task on an interval - every 2 hrs, but limit the task to 1 hr. This then auto vacuum's the dB every 2 hrs .. This is why I was enquiring around doing 1) FP for a Season 2) Detect for a Season 3) Vacuum a Season - then move onto the next. BUT I don't think we need to do this anymore as the query time / memory usage seems significantly better this time. I'm not sure if it would run as well if I let the dB build for say 30K episodes (without a vacuum) but the schedule 'hack' works around this without any further changes. Log the items in Debug mode is a great idea - but I would keep the 'Season Complete' in the main log ? On the edit chapters - YES ! - I looked at some of the Tick conversations yesterday actually, and there appears to be a C++ TickConversion library which should make things a little easier. The existing chapters are easy to get, so just inserting the IntroStart and IntroEnd (converted to ticks) and then a re-order and write back 'should' be all that is required here. (he says) On the Github - no, I'm not a coder, I'm an infrastructure network/security guy - but do dabble in scripting but I'm not very good at it - haha..

  34. Hi, I'm trying to understand your needs but wondering if you are fully aware of how you can setup your Emby clients to automatically choose subs for you at play time. Here is an example from the web client: So for example I can choose the language of the sub to play as well as the conditions like always, only if forced, smart, etc... By adjusting these settings they will be applied to all playback on that client. Have you explored these settings? If they don't work for you can you go over a specific situation to show us why this would be more helpful to you? Something to keep in mind is one person's wish feature could be another's nightmare. For example I often look at subs and audio tracks of media using the drop downs, but would not want any selections to become permeant as I was just looking and didn't actually play back the media to "select" them. For most people with the above (shown in pic) settings they will never need to manually select a sub to use as the system will choose it automatically based on their preference.

  41. 2.0.2.6 Handles marking the db entries as processed. If we have scanned the season in it's entirety, we won't try rescan episodes again. Unless there are new episodes added to the season. Then we'll try and attempt sequence detection using the new episode. IntroSkip_v2.0.2.6.zip Probably have to remove the db file one last time.

  42. Emby media has nothing to do with trackers or other similar things. These are two very different things. Once you have the media in your position, you rename it and put it in the format needed for your best streaming and rename files/folders to match the naming conventions. Trying to use the same media for multiple purposes isn't going to ever work well. If you must also keep files for other purposes then you need to have 2 different sets of files.

  46. A small update for the interested users, we have designed a logo for this project. We already tought about a name, the name wil follow later. What you see here is a user friendly registration system. If there is a "emby server" connected to this system, the "owner" can see an list of their emby users, and can click easely on an invite button. Then a link will be created, and the owner can send the link to the user he want's to register. (since there is no possible option to get the user email by the emby api). We are trying to create it as simple as possible for the users We decided this project will be a webapp on itself, because we want this to be as user friendly and remote-ish as possible.

  47. It works with each user on a server (invisible option should standard be disabled), in your situation your father watches on his Android tablet, mother on her iphone, and you at home via your browser. I post a example video below. With connect we connect this dashboard user_id and emby user_id's. We have not yet decided. Whether it will be an online service (one hosting) or a service that you have to install on your own server. Yes! TLvnB3PRlf.mp4
