Please add "select all" option. It's would be easier to add all from folder to playlist/collection or filter played/unplayed/favorites and download or delete. Would be useful to select all and mark played/unplayed. Just please add that option. Thank you.3 points

Hi @chef - So I tried to run the latest Introskip on my main TV shows collection and a few issues cropped up and I was forced to abandon it. At about 30% through the FP - the dB size for titlessequence.db was just over 1Gb .. After a graceful 'stop' - any db search in the Plugin now takes 30 seconds - presumably as the db size is large. Does it have any form of index to help with the query ? I also then tried to get some actual Sequence Detection completed - as expected, the logs were filled with 'missing FP' but on those it could find, detection went ok - and those details are showing ok in the Plugin (after 30 seconds.) However, I also had to abandon this as memory usage started to grow fast - I'm not sure if this was because of the missing FP's ? Part of me is thinking why are we splitting these items into two sets of 'complete' tasks - was there a reason for this ? Would it be better to FP a 'season or show', then run detection on that season, once detection is complete, then remove the FP data for completed shows (ie Status=Ended) and then repeat ? You are then left with a much more manageable database, quicker to search as it now only contains the FP data for 'Continuing' shows plus of course the Intro Start/End for all shows, which is, after all, the important bit. I think my system would 'get there' eventually, but if @Sammy is struggling with a 16core/32thread system, this process is going to kill most systems, especially people that run on low powered NAS devices for example - so perhaps a 'per season or per show' approach is needed to make it more manageable ? To end on a positive note - every detection it did get to was almost perfect - so the core detection technology works extremely well - it's just managing the journey to the end result that I feel needs a little more analysis .. edit .. So I've had a quick play with the dB - by removing all the data from the Fingerprint column (NULL) - now response in the Plugin are instant again - this is on a 10K row database (30% of my collection). After a vacuum, dB size is also back to under 1Mb. I'm going to restore the file and continue the FP task, but it does sound like the dB needs some indexes or maybe offloading to an archive dB if you do want to/need to keep the FP data. edit2 .. I've also just realised why the FP was eating so much CPU - I did not exclude the new Beta instance ffmpeg from my real-time AV scanning - doh! - so it was scanning every file it was trying to process.. Now ffmpeg is excluded, I can now run 6-8 parallel streams - each taking about 10% cpu..3 points

The Mult-Select in the Server web app is super-useful (I'm so grateful to those that introduced me to it!). But given that the Server web app has some excellent filtering functions (eg, in my case I make use of filtering by Tags) it would be very handy to have a "Select All" functionality, so that I can filter down to the results I'm looking for and then easily add them to a Collection (or, when eventually we have Bulk Editing abilities, open a Bulk Edit view on all the Selected items). Thanks! PS - If this is something you might like to see implemented, be sure to "Like" this top/first post (as well as any subsequent posts in this thread that highlight particular aspects of what you are interested in) -- "Liking" the top/first post helps the Devs to know how much interest there is in a given Feature Request.2 points

Getting your hands on higher upload speeds, or getting your data-caps removed or raised is neigh impossible, or extremely expensive reoccurring cost for vast majority of people, there is no competition in the ISP market you get what you get. Obtaining hardware to transcode HEVC/H265 on the fly in real time, however is possible, feasible, and within a reasonable cost.. Example, my 60yro mother hits her Cox Cable 1TB Data cap streaming off my server, she dont go over much but she goes over consistently enough that i'm paying for her to upgrade to unlimited, costing an extra $50/mo for the last 2 years since I came to this thread.. thats >$1200 spent that woulda built me a pretty badass server instead of giving it to a big bag of Cox. H265 Output is a cost saving feature, plain and simple.. in the long run obtaining a server capable of doing it is far outweighed by the bandwidth costs for many.. I could argue the inverse, how many people dont have servers capable of doing this because its not supported so why invest the money in it when your forced to spend it on datacaps.. or why buy some expensive hardware that is cheap and or obsolete by the time Emby finally implements this.. Nobody is specifically spending the money on this capability because it wont give them any tangible benefit if nothing utilizes it, so might as well stick to cheap old hardware until that changes.2 points

My request is to be able to chose to add items to the home screen. Specifically in my case, I am thinking of playlists and collections. Here's some reasons I'd like to see this: The home screen is the first piece of the user interface a person will see when they pull up Emby. I often places movies in bulk into my media library. This sometimes means people never see the new movie I've made available. Happens a lot, actually. While all movies are searchable or can be found by sorting, I believe the interface would benefit from having the customization option. I have created a "Justin Recommends" collection and would LOVE to be able to put that on the home screen. By keeping this optional, no one is forced to use it. If you don't have a use-case, then it's just a feature. If you look at things like Netflix, many movies and shows get "featured" and by doing that, a lot of people end up watching that wouldn't otherwise (imagine if The Tiger King was just another buried documentary you had to hunt for, no one would have heard of it). I appreciate your time. If you've considered this before and decided against for reasons other than difficulty implementing the feature, I'd ask you to reconsider. I believe that being able to customize our servers helps us personalize and tailor them to our audience and our needs, and that helps promote a feeling of ownership. I also truly believe that this small change could lead to some powerful results. In my case, I know that it would be of huge benefit to accomplishing what I would like to do with my Emby server. Thank you.1 point

Say I have a custom collection of 56 Christmas movies. During the Holiday Season, I would like to show this on the main page as a Library. Now, I could make a drive folder called "Christmas" and put these movies in that folder. However, now we're getting away from using metadata for organization and moving back to using folders for organization. Something you've spent the last few years trying to get away from. So each collection should have a toggle to show it as a library on the Home Page. Then people can make collections for Christmas, Halloween, Summer Romance, Summer Slasher Films, whatever and show them on the front page where they are easily accessible. Don't want to show it anymore, switch the toggle off.1 point

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to say this is solved. I don't see any issues that look related. I think it's very odd that the paths were wrong but I can't rule out user error.1 point

Thank you @Luke for reaching out. Well, I was having these problems with my browser when watching stuff in my desktop, when I should have been using Emby Theater for Windows in the first place. Well, I installed it! And problem solved. It looks absolutely fantastic with no hanging/freezing at all. The content is streamed perfectly now. Now, regarding my LG OLED buffering when streaming 4K content. The problem was very simple: it was not transcoding at all, it was just the network card does not take more than 100 Mbps, very cheap, go figure. So I connected wirelessly to the router (very physically close) and problem solved. I know there are usb-3/ethernet adapters that should work with the TV and will give them a test as well. In summary, thanks for the support! Emby still strong for me.1 point

Yeah, I had experimented with the Xbox settings under accessibility, as I believe markle had as well. While it made it a little more readable, it also put giant subtitles on everything else you do on the Xbox. I think it still comes down to Xbox's latest system update and the Emby app on there not playing nicely for subtitles.1 point

There is a chance that the UI is not automatically updating the successful sort. For some reason removing items from an InProgressList wasn't enough to force the change in the activity log. I have fixed it, and can post an update here later.1 point

Well i was a bit tot harsh. The setting does something. But not with all files and on 200% it is still quite small.1 point
-
Well think i figured it out. There is a setting on the Xbox itself that causes the issue. Look on the Xbox in settings, accessibility, subtitels. Hou need to reselect White and increase the size tot be able to see them.1 point

That seems to have fixed it, thanks so much again. Will let you know if anythign else pops-up1 point

@Ryan_vl I'm not sure if you are interesting in this. It might be a bit buggy. I am tracking down the code for the smart match. I didn't change smart match code, so I'm not exactly sure where it went wrong. Better handling of New Resolutions Fixed Move Existing Item into the library on request New status Message for If the Destination drive is full, and we can't move the file. Emby.AutoOrganize.zip Definitely want to clear browser cache for this. Now on to the smart match problem...1 point

No if your device and TV can't handle HDR then you can't get true HDR. The Shield can down convert HDR to SDR itself doing tone mapping and the picture looks quite good. The Shield TV Pro is hands down the best device for Emby in my personal opinion.1 point

Follow the instructions in the thread linked to as this will show you what needs to be done permission wise. There is also a movie you can download which will show everything except the 2 commands you copy/paste into SSH to run.1 point

This issue has been solved. For whatever reason it has to do with proxying through Cloudflare. With Cloudflare proxy removed - everything works again. Ty.1 point

@Luke I too can confirm on 4.7.0.9 that removing a movie from a collection is not removing the collection info from the NFO files.1 point
-
Yes got that part but what does Emby use to match the show? IE in TV Library is folder "The Goldbergs (2013)" but the Guide info shows The Goldbergs as year 2015?1 point
-
No, you can't transcode the video and retain HDR. But for local in house use you shouldn't need to transcode at all with the right Emby Client that can direct play your content.1 point

Nah Nah..... Y'all know what I mean.... "Select all" instead of clicking on every file one by one. Cheers.1 point

it returns a best match unfortunately, so it does still require a fair amount of manual work1 point

Hi @chef Not sure if I am doing anything wrong but for some reason since that last update I am not able to add anything to the smart matches, even if I select Remember correction it does not add to the smart match list. Let me know if you need me to send you anything1 point

It would be cool if when playing music, the title of the browser tab updated to the current artist and song playing. Spotify shows this as (Title)-(Artist) and youtube displays as (Title). When nothing plays or when the album finishes it could revert back to "Emby"1 point

Hi, yes we'll be adding these to the apple tv app in upcoming updates. Thanks for the feedback.1 point

OK now go into users menu on the web dashboard and remote the Emby Connect username and click save. Then add the Emby Connect username back again and click save. Try logging in again.1 point

By the way based on your comments I did some tests and found that for very large images, encoding to webp was generally about 4-5X slower. In the beta server I've changed the encoding to not use webp when the originals are greater than 1080p.1 point

I was reading up on this plugin and from my understanding. The plugin will take movies, tv shows and tv show episodes from a certain or assigned folder. Then scan those files and rename the files and move the files to another assigned folder. But can the plugin after renaming the movies move the files to multiple folders based on genres as well as type? My structure is broken up as follows. 4k moves 3D movies Disney + Pixar movies Movies (which contains HD and brokwn up by genres) action, drama, comedy etc.. I wouldn't want the plugin to go in and reorganize everything just to keep adding to my structure/setup. Thanks1 point

Keep in mind Emby is a media streaming and aggregator of metadata for your media but wasn't designed to be a file manager or media manager. Many people over time wanted the ability to delete a movie/episode after watching it as they sort of use Emby as a DVR and only care to watch something once and remove it so Emby accommodated that request. People over time have wanted all kinds of features like using Emby as an FTP server so they can "upload" files to the server (probably nice for remote servers) or to allow friends to add to their collection. Others have wanted to be able to use Emby to move folders or relocate files, etc There is the Auto Organizer plugin that can help a bit with this especially used in combination with the upload directory of an FTP server. Of course there are tools specific to doing these types of jobs like FTP servers for handling the uploads, media managers that make working with the content directly, etc... A lot of the old timers wouldn't want Emby to spend time adding "media management" features to the product as they feel it's not needed and a waste of dev resources trying to build another mouse trap that already exists in other forms. Yet some feature that are geared to the metadata would be welcome. It would be nice to multi select files and be able to add a TAG to them all at the same time. Same with being able to select a few files and do a meta refresh on them. These latter types of things I'd personally love to have but not things that change the media or move them.1 point

Compared to the share button for video files, it's unexpected IMO. Video 'sharing' gives you the description of the shared vid + a link to the main landing page on your server where a person would have to login then find the actual media themselves. Where as image sharing just gives a direct link to the image no auth required. It's inconsistent. Are we allowed share the actual media itself via our emby servers or not? Especially when the description of 'Allow media sharing' under a users access settings is: 'Only webpages containing media info are shared. Media files are never shared publicly. Shares are time-limited and will expire after 30 days.' Dunno about the time-limit, but those links don't seem temporary either. Personally I don't use embys media sharing options. I have it disabled for all users. Instead I have an instance of nginx running on the same machine that hosts whatever I drop into a specific folder. That way I can give people links that look like https://file.mydomain.com/file.extention to share them. Handy for embedded forum images, sharing files with friends, and even providing info for work like videos of a problem maintenance has to deal with. I'm just curious as to the intended use and functionality of the share feature. What I would want from the feature is a link to the media info page. Visiting that link with a browser that's already logged into the server via 'remember me' would take you directly to the media info. Visiting with a browser that isn't auto-logged in however would redirect to the user login page, then after a successful auth, redirect back to the shared medias info page. Assuming we are maintaining the idea that emby can't be used to share the media itself publicly that is. Otherwise, allow video to be shared just like images currently (a link to directly play, no auth). Time-limited temporary links would definitely be a good idea there.1 point
