FYI - since this appears to be one of those things where users are split about 50/50 on, I have added an option to the app for the next release that will allow you to toggle whether or not the SS will interrupt a paused video.

There are too many so combine this with letting me turn ones that are useless to me off I could happily turn off 5 of the 8 that are there today.

Unless I'm being a bit blind (highly possible!), I'd love a way to hide a couple of the top green navigation items without hacking it in myself. For example, in Movies I don't want the 'Trailers' item to appear for any profile and for TV I don't need the 'Upcoming' nav link. Obviously not a major issue but thought it would be a nice thing to have, perhaps allowing them to be re-ordered like the home page items but again just a nice extra,

When the Emby server is exposed to the public net, then every item image is accessible without authentication or api key! This is especially critical if someone has private photo libraries in Emby. With a simple brute force attack to http://{public domain}/emby/items/{increment number}/images/primary it's possible to compromise every piece of someone's private life. This has to be fixed immediately!

Hi, I’d love that audio and subtitles choice would be saved per show, according to what you select on the last episode you watched. The main audio/subtitles parameters is a good point but there are many cases it is not enough and you need to adjust audio and subtitles at the beginning of every episodes. For example i like to watch Casa de Pale in Spanish with french subtitles, The Big Bang Theory in English with french subtitles, French TV shows in french without subtitles, ....

I would love the option to store Emby's database in MySQL - I have a setup that serves around 30 people and I feel that there would be real performance gains by using a proper relational backend over SQLite (I'm presuming). On top of this it would make life easier for me when reporting on watched status a cross users.

Ok, stop me if you've heard this one and I just can't find the option. I use the emby app on my android tv. I also have a ton of files/folders that have internal subtitles on things. The only weird thing is when it was initially transcoded for some reason they were lazy and the english sub isn't labeled as eng, its just labeled as UND (undeclared obviously) it would be great to set it to play this as well as english (which I have it set for) automatically. Am I missing it?

Hi, the new info/chapter popup while playing in tizen version 1.1.0 is nice. But if the description text of the movie/episode is too long, it is not shown completely there seems no way to make it all readable, BTW: I like the new way for long description on detail screens, that there is not anymore the "more" button, but a popup for the whole text. Hi, I find myself constantly using a fanart/backdrop as the thumbnail because there is no Thumb image from the metadata providers yet. There is often a fanart/background that works as thumb. When I'm in the Edit Images mode of an Item, I would like to have a button that makes a backdrop the thumbnail image is then removed from backdrops. Since drag and drop was intruduced recently that could also be a way to handle it. I just want a quick way to handle this without having to manualy rename files. Cheers.

The reason we don't put the settings in the UI is because the ports have to be defined in the Synology app manifest, so they defaults are essentially hard-coded there.

For Collections you will need to do this. shutdown Emby go to "Data path: C:\Users\jeffp\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\root\default" delete that collections folder start Emby That should change the content type of Collections shown on Dashboard-Library to Mixed Content and allow you to remove them.

Yes, that's what I meant. If I voluntarily scroll past the current song, I'd like to keep my new spot instead of Emby scrolling all the way back when a new song starts.

A drag and drop feature there is not a bad idea but simply renaming fanart1.jpg to landscape.jpg in the file system will accomplish what you want a little easier than you are doing now.

@frostbyte Here are the emby server logs from just a few mins ago when I tried to play a few movies...the first one takes minutes to load and then subsequent ones are almost instant. Even the pictures to load on each movie take forever inititally. I tried with both transcoding set to Yes and No. Where do I find the remux/transcode logs? embyserver.txt

Well, this debate surely never gets old. Anyway, although we will never all see eye-to-eye, I do tend to lean towards @CBers's view: word "Direct" should refer to something direct, as-is, unaltered. "Direct Streaming" encompassing Remux simply ain't. Besides, "Streaming" has practically become a synonym for watching something from the web, i.e. linking it to http would surely fit into that mindset, while leaving "Direct Play" only for file serving. Introduce "Remux" category in addition and we would have all bases covered: DirectPlay, DirectStream, Remux, Transcoding.

Is it transcoding? Your DS220j is probably not going to be able to transcode as fast as your NUC. Can you post any server and remux/transcode logs for the time while it was playing?

Yes it's all voice controlled where you basically ask Alexa to play X album to "name of Echo box" type thing. It's like using your own Emby server instead of Spotify or other online music service. You can't "cast" to it in the same sense as other Emby Clients or DLNA devices.

I see what has happened. It had the ones I downloaded, and stupid me didn't see the pre-downloaded ones in Emby (one are in jpg, one are in png) - so Emby appears to have just stuck with the one's already there. Once I manually deleted those, a library scan picked them up. Thanks for the help @GrimReaper76

That would re-download the images from meta-providers and replace your existing ones. That is Team Orange setting, where in Emby did you encounter such setting? Emby should check for the presence of local artwork by default, in the order as stipulated in the KB article: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159110 For episodes, artwork name should be episodefilename-thumb.ext, not episodetitle-thumb.ext. Scan media library task, Scan Library Files on Library or TV show three-dot menu, any of them should pick those up.

I could careless but just pointing out there is different behavior in the next release. So to the question "any plans to improve playback detection / file selection", I would say it is already there. But have only looked at this from a browser perspective.

True being able to disable/select specific tabs would please a lot of users. But in the end you will have users that want or leave all of them enabled and devices/display modes just don't have the real-estate.

You are 100% correct sir, IGDB is now owned by Amazon, so you could call it the IMDB of games. The IGDB V4 API is now free with no limitations for non-commercial usage under the terms of the Twitch developer service agreement. They seem to allow commercial usage of it too if you get in touch with them and make an agreement, but I am not sure about that. Also steamgridDB could be called the.. fanart.tv of games.

no, i chuck the case after removing the disks. mostly because i can't be bothered being careful when i remove the disk so usually damage the case. just return them in an electromagnetic bag and a box with packaging to stop it moving around too much. both times they have sent me back a disk in the external case to be honest the first time i was half expecting them to deny me a RMA but no questions were asked

So, does that mean I have to go through and manually delete all the crazy stupid collections that Emby has created on it's own that make absolutely no sense at all as to why most of them are there......because most of them contain just one movie or they are completely inaccurate. I realize I am running the beta server so my experience may be diferent but the auto collections are useless.
