  1. Similar to this old post, I'm suggesting a tab that would be titled Watchlist and could be placed in between Suggestions and Favorites. The functionality would pretty much be a copy of Favorites, just with a + symbol added next to the heart and other symbols that let you favorite a movie etc. The previous post had mentioned extra functionality such as automatically removing a movie from Watchlist after it has been watched. This would be nice, but is unnecessary because after watching a movie you can simply click the + symbol a second time to remove it from Watchlist. I would imagine this would be very easy to implement as a rebranded copy of Favorites. Adding other features could come later. Edit: added link to old post

  3. I suck at marketing and you guy's have to figure out the bottom line, but with so many Plex users getting more and more fed up each day with bloatware, it might be a fun promotion, and a little public ribbing, to accept Lifetime Plex passes for a discount on an Emby Premiere lifetime subscription? What you do with all the Plex passes is anyone's guess, but maybe get them a ticket on Bezos' spaceship and send them as far away from this planet as possible? Just a thought....

  6. The situation is regrettable to say the least. The truth is that there are things that no longer stand on their own. And I am almost certain that things are being hidden. I feel sorry for @SamES and @Luke, but they have lost part of my trust. You have been going on since before January with the same story, you are asked for a little transparency and you are back to the same thing. You don't give details, you blame LG and that's it.Well, nope. Sincerely I begin to think that something else is going on here, and the truth, I was waiting to buy the premiere subscription with this update release, but I'm almost sure I'm going to stay with the desire.

  7. I dont get this.. How come Plex is regularly and Emby not? I dont buy the reason above since they both offer basically the same thing. Sort this out.

  8. Add this option: 3. Decode everything DTS, DTS-HD, TrueHD... to LPCM on supported systems like Plex and Infuse do Remuxing HEVC content usually leads to this:

  9. I don't understand what the problem is, since a lot of garbage apps end up in the LG content store anyway... There are a LOT of crappy IPTV apps that get approved full with bugs. Why is it so hard to get a professionally developed app like Emby updated in the LG content store ?

  10. I mentioned it in another thread, but thought I'd put it here since this looks like a new section--just for posterity. Would like to have a bulk meta data editor function. For example, if I have 750 videos whose producing studio is the same, I want to select those videos and apply the name of the studio to those videos. Similarly, if there is a custom tag I want to apply to a subset of those movies, I want to be able to select them in bulk and apply the tag to those videos (instead of selecting them one by one).

  11. Be able to create playlist based on a certain criteria, like genre and or year, in order to create a dynamic playlist that it refreshes automatically when new content is added. This way you can for example, create a tv comedy playlist from the 90's, or a new sci-fi Movies playlist. Some other criteria for rules could be the rating, watched/unwantched, score, tags, language, audio codec, etc The possibilities could be endless

  12. Maybe there could be an option to show only unwatched media in the "Because you watched..." and "Because you liked..." sections of the Suggestions Tab? Or is there already? Anyway, I'm using the web client via Firefox on a Windows 7 Ultimate machine...

  13. You can do that or get a USB multiport adapter such as https://www.amazon.com/T-Sound-Splitter-Keyboard-Adapter-Nintendo/dp/B083RQMC7S/.

  14. So I did everything in that KB multiple times, and for whatever reason on the 6th or 7th time it worked. Strange. I did have several power outages in the last few days, and while I have a UPS, that may be the culprit. Thanks again for the prompt help. I am always impressed by the support I get here, FWIW.

  15. You use an adapter for the Surface. I use an adapter I picked up off off Amazon for $10. Any USB3 to Ethernet adapter will work. Just thought I'd mention it since it's usually always better to have your server using wired when possible.

  17. One thing I can think of is that you could have "broken" images in your cache and, when you make the browser a certain size, that lands on those broken cached images (we cache images at display resolution). So, you might try clearing your browser cache and also your "imagecache" folder under your Emby folder.

  21. All this work is awesome, I have mine running since January on a laptop and never reboot or anything just let it do it 's thing and all I need is to move stuff to new spaces as needed. If I do want to fiddle with it I will update and get it set up all the better. Right now it ain't broke so ...

  23. The disc image used to be used in the Media Center Emby (Media Browser) app. It was really neat, while you were on the movie of choice page, the disc would roll in and then randomly spin over the cover image. I miss that.

  26. Try double clicking the home button, or go into the "Apps" menu under settings and find Emby and force close from there. Then, right after the problem has occurred and you force closed the app, restart the app and send a log from it.

  28. Emby has suddenly decided to not display more then half my tv series, it is showing 580 shows when there should be over 1100, the files are there on the hard drives and it's not media missing from a single drive it's picking and choosing randomly. I have updated the server, checked the drives, rebooted the server and restarted emby as well as several library scans, they are not coming back. Any ideas? EDIT: DISREGARD THIS GUYS, FOUND THE PROBLEM, FALSE ALARM embyserver.txt

  29. I think he's saying: Emby is the one setting the ratings string with no '+'. All you need to do is name your files to match the ratings string Emby is choosing (remove your '+'').

  30. Because I like Emby more than Plex, and Infuse is enough to make up for the shortcomings of the Emby app for Apple TV. Also I use Emby for Android TV and the application is much better than Plex.

  31. Thanks Pal! Just leave it now please mate. If it had some backing then it wouldn't be a problem being here, the whole point of this thread is for those who need support in getting a plugin working if they have issue however you're just being foul mouthed and not doing anything to get support. Please either feel free to get support or go away.

  32. I literally have no idea who you are. Again, I'll gladly help if I knew what your issue was but you just sound like an angry nutcase. Please just move on if you're just here to be angry and not help

  35. An option like that is crucial to be able to use graphical subs otherwise it will require a lot of transcoding and burning in - which is not feasible for a lot of people, me including. While you are at it, imo this should also be added to Emby for Android if it is needed. Look at what ebr did with the AndroidTV app, there it is working amazingly good since the last release. We users have the option to select: 1. Direct play everything and downmix non-compatible audio to stereo or 2. Convert non-compatible audio (e.g. DTS-HD, TrueHD) to AC3 This is exactly how all apps should look like otherwise those with graphical subs are screwed, one way or another. So, please consider this and not only "in the future"...

  36. Hi @Luke, Thanks for the response, no need for apologies, I should have been taking better care of my servers, I am looking at implementing some monitoring as for some reason I can't seem to expand the hard drive or attach a second drive. Happy to supply any of the logs I took just before and after the crash if it helps development teams to understand why the transcode folder wasn't clearing itself when no longer required.

  37. Why... do i need to learn how to wipe my own ass with yet another piece of software that does everything all the others did differently and you get the privilege of paying more money for. Developers should remove the headache rather than giving a platform for interaction in a closed project.

  39. Hi @endian675 I'm going to be doing a write up on this shortly but would like to try and help you one on one via a remote support session if possible to get this working for you. Would this be something you are able to do with us?

  40. I figured out the problem. It appears to be a bug in Emby server related to the optional shared network folder on each library folder. If I remove that, then I see a path in Media Info. But I need that shared network setting in order for direct playback in Kodi for items synced with the Emby extension. Without it, I would have to use the EmbyCon extension instead, but that has some disadvantages in my setup and I rather not have to remove it. This is definitely a recent issue, within the last one or two public releases of Emby server. I would try to help pinpoint the issue even more than that, except I can't see any commits on github since 2018?

  41. for Admin users, the path is still shown under Media Info ?

  42. Hi. It is true that we are not a simple file browser (like the interface on your TV). Emby is a much more intelligent system than that and, if you will follow a few naming and layout conventions, the functionality the system can provide is quite vast. If you really only want simple file browsing, then you should define all your libraries as "Home Vidoes" so that no metadata providers or special intelligence will be involved. But, instead, I highly suggest you try a sample with the proper structure and proper library types so you can see everything Emby can do for you.

  45. Right now, only entire shows can be Identified. This means that if TheMovieDB has the wrong episode order, you are out of luck. This does actually happen frequently, and it won't be changing any time soon. TMDB has a policy that they maintain the episodes in the order they originally aired. If that's not the order the creator intended, then you are out of luck and have to do everything manually. Also, sometimes episodes just don't get aired for political, cultural, or current events reasons. As far as those databases are concerned, those episodes don't exist. For an example, look at Cowboy Bebop, the order is quite different from the intended order seen on Wikipedia, because it aired out of order. I'm not away of any other databases with a policy to use the Blu-ray / DVD ordering. Therefore it seems that the best solution is to allow episodes to be manually identified as a specific episode. Identifying individual episodes automatically rather than series might even make a better default. For any show that everything matches up, you'd never know the difference, but it would make it much easier to fix broken things.

  46. My apologies if there is already a feature request for this, I searched but couldn't find anything. My experience is with the Roku and Android TV apps but it may apply to other apps as well. With the "Up Next" and "Recently Added" rows on the homescreen one almost never needs to dig down deeper to find something to watch. A view I think is missing is a random unwatched movie view which would allow more spontaneous selections when you can't decide what to watch. I am an indecisive person and when given a choice of a 1000 movies I will never decide on one, but give me a choice of 20 movies and I will find something quick. I realize this would be a personal preference having this view so if it could be made an option like how the "Show Premieres Row" currently works in the Android TV app everyone would be satisfied. Yes I am aware of the filtering options but the point is to take as much user intervention out of the process and help one pick a movie they might have not otherwise chosen.

  47. To gauge interest... What if you had the ability to "Forget" a series for the purposes of Next Up display. That is, it would no longer show in Next Up - unless you watched another episode. Sometimes you maybe watch a series for a while and, even though there is more of it or more is made later, maybe it isn't as good as the earlier seasons or maybe you just don't have time for it anymore. So you'd like it to quit showing up in your Next Up list so it is less cluttered and you can focus on the series you are actually watching now. If you start watching it again, the "forget" would be forgotten and it would start to show up in Next Up again.
