IPTV is cheap to buy for a reason, sloppy code slapped together no matter how it looks Emby fixes all their lazy sloppy mistakes making it look professional in the end. I feel like such a nerd for how much I like emby lol.2 points

Hi, someone invited you to their server. Probably by mistake based on inviting you by username and thinking it would go to someone else. You can just ignore it and delete the server entry.2 points

I'll check it out when I get home today. Thank you for helping maintaining the plugin, myself & the community appreciate it a lot.2 points

Just a quick follow up to my earlier post. This of course does not help with the tv app, but i thought i would share my experience in case it might help someone else. I was planning on building a gaming pc for this tv, so i got it set up, and tried Emby Theatre in Windows. Well the sound works fine via eARC from the tv, but of course no DTS passthrough. Since im using a soundbar with hdmi input (and eARC), i connected a second cable from the GPU to my soundbar and voila, i now have a new LG TV showing up in my sound devices in windows, and dts passthrough working perfectly2 points

I am switching over from a Win7 box running MBC to Chromecast dongles. With the Win7 box I had a HDMI to Cat6 setup that allowed me to stream to up to 4 displays/TVs simultaneously. It was great while it lasted, but involved stapling cables to the ceiling to run it from room to room - plus it has borked Can there be an option to multi-cast to several receivers at once? i.e. simultaneously play to Chromecast dongles in my office and living room and kitchen simultaneously so i can walk from room to room without stopping and restarting the movie or show all the time? I realize that bandwidth could POTENTIALLY be an issue, but i have a fill gigabit network and a multi-port NAS so that really is the least of my worries... Thank you!1 point

It makes sense why Emby doesn't support playing blurays in a normal bluray manner, but its still a format many people like to archive their content in (i.e. keep it 1:1). However, even without supporting blurays in a normal matter with menus and all, emby should be able to stream a bluray playlist as a single movie much like it streams and mkv or any other container format. Now, blurays contain lots of playlists (and some contain obfuscated playlists), so it wouldn't be the best ui experience to just enumerate every playlist. What would be nice is if one culd drop a metadata file into the dir containin gthe BDMV file structure or the iso that basically enumerates which playlist one wants emby to know about and simple metadata to enumerate what it is (i.e. movie name, extra name, tv episode). I would say if this could be done, the next step would be to do the same for DVDs (though their playlist mechanism is less user friendly) thoughts?1 point

What does this plugin do? It will sync playback progress of media items between two accounts Why is it useful: Regular user accounts (not admin) may have simpler to key-in passwords (note: not simpler passwords... simpler to key in passwords) for remote controls. If you have an admin account with a password which is extra difficult to key in on remotes, and you would like to keep the admin account's watched status up-to-date, but would consider using a 'non-admin' account to watch media, then you can sync the progress data back to your admin account. This plugin will only sync the playback progress data to an account if the position of the playing media (when stopped), is further along in the runtime then what was already present in the sync'd account. I hope I have explained it well enough. Feel free to check out the Github for this plugin: https://github.com/chefbennyj1/Emby.AccountSync or ask questions. Thanks AccountSync.zip1 point

Is it possible to go back to a version prior to version 2.0.09a? My Fire TV (first Gen) recently auto updated Emby to 2.0.09a and now some content that was working a few days ago is no longer playing properly. I am still spot testing video's to see what works and what no longer works. I have so far found that when playing H.264 mkv video's with EAC3 audio or H.264 mp4's with AC3 audio, the audio starts playing prior to the video and then the video is choppy. I am running Emby server v.4.5.4.0. If I could go back to a release prior to 2.0.09a, I suspect that will correct the issue as I did not have this issue until the recent update. thank you in advance,1 point

I have seen a few people raise this issue and having had it myself and trying to clean up the duplicates i have managed to recreate the bug several times now so thought i'd report it. So for example i have an artist in my library and they have no actual albums but only appear on mixed releases, lets say 'Arcadia' they have 2 tracks across 2 albums, the tracks are tagged with the artists name but the album artist is 'Various Artists', at this point Emby is happy Arcadia does not show in Album Artists only in Artists as it should. Now if i go and add an Arcadia album into the library such as 'So The Red Rose' where all tracks and album artist are tagged as 'Arcadia', Emby suddenly spits the dummy and i have Arcadia listed twice in Album Artists, one will show the 'appears on' albums AND their album and the other will show ONLY their album. I have been able to re-produce this over and over with different artists/albums. The only way i can find to correct the duplicate is to remove all the albums associated with the artist then run a library scan, after it's complete return the artists albums first run a scan again and then return the various artist albums they appear on, and then everything comes together as it should with only one album artist appearing and showing everything they appear on. If you need more info please let me know.1 point

It's one thing to do it for yourself but another to sell to other people. I know from a customer support standpoint I would hate that because if I ask a user to force close or check the store for updates or to run some other diagnostic they would not be able to do it easily. That would then make support harder for us. As an example how would the user access the store (google or amazon) in case they needed to purchase or re apply a purchase to activate the app for full playback. Or to get to the store to change their login credentials? From a personal standpoint if you took the ability for me to check weather or fire up Youtube I'd be hating that box.1 point

But you can still click on the word MOVIES and that will show all movies you have for this actor.1 point

Instead of depending on a specific controller to call up the decal button, can we have some sort of GUI button or a least of the most recent channels we can pull up from the playback menu?1 point

If you had long-pressed the back button at that point, you would be at the Emby home screen.1 point

You know, I notice similar behavior on my shield 2 days ago. I wrote it off at the time to something odd on my network, but maybe it was not. I haven't used it since. TiviMate was working fine at the time and since then. If I use Emby again and it happens, I'll grab logs.1 point

Have you looked at musicbrainz picard. Allegedly it can handle music videos, although I haven't tried it myself1 point

Enabling audio passthrough would likely allow many of us to finally play 4k on Xbox. Still no update to the Emby app though to support audio passthrough. Hoping it gets released really soon though.1 point

Update - now fixed. there is no option for a smart hub reset, in fact the settings button doesn't work at all. tried a factory reset after sideloading emby and still nothing. based on a couple youtube videos, I UNPLUGGED the tv for 1 hr. Happy to report ALL IS GOOD! apparently the smart hub gets fubar'd occasionally. now that I think about it, this happened the same day the power company shut our power off for 4 hours scheduled maintenance. must have screwed something up when they turned it back on. Thanks for the help!1 point

I think befor download any vpn you have to know about. Secondly, before getting a long term plan you should take test drive of any reliable vpn like https://www.purevpn.com/trial.php This sort of testing is save your money and test drive for a week is enough to decide either reliable or not. So don't waste your money and find a good one.1 point

Try removing power from the TV for a few minutes, Then try a SmartHub reset Then try full TV Reset Then buy a new TV....1 point

Ok guys! I have it! Thank you so much for your help! Yes, I have a valid certificate and it has been working like this for years but the certificate is not on the emby server but on a reverse proxy. The connection mode was always set to "preferred but not required". I have now changed it to "handled by reverse proxy" and everything works as expected.1 point

You dont need to uncheck the server name box now. So if/when the server name is working again you will see it in discord.1 point

@bobster5It's already available to everyone now. All Plex users can try it and it seems to work best with receivers. Sound bars seem to have a little more trouble.1 point

I also submitted a pull request to the plugin developer so hopefully a official release should be available soon.1 point

Hi there, yes we plan to support this. Thanks for the feedback.1 point

@GrimReaper76 Try this with "Replace Emby Server with your server name" checked again. Debug log only if it fails please. I suspect you won't get your server name but it should at least not fail with it checked. After Luke tells me whats wrong I'll try and make the server name work and see about getting this change into github. Emby.Notifications.Discord107.dll.zip1 point

There would be demand if this could actually come to life. The thing is, every single implementation of discs menus, be on emby, be on kodi, be on vlc, you name whatever open source project, there's a mantra that people keep repeting is that, nobody cares. People do care but since devs see it as actually too hard we get half-done implementations. There's an entire library for it that is libbluray that gets updated quite often that does the entire work of reading the discs for the software and output all the data it needs, chapters, angles, you name it. FFmpeg is what used by kodi and it uses libbluray. https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/blob/9c099034d93945e7fad5368532b6a77453b9838e/xbmc/cores/VideoPlayer/DVDInputStreams/DVDInputStreamBluray.cpp Here, this is how you check for playlists. If you need specificity here is how you select the longest title for playback: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/blob/9c099034d93945e7fad5368532b6a77453b9838e/xbmc/cores/VideoPlayer/DVDInputStreams/DVDInputStreamBluray.cpp#L97 In the end it's not that people don't care, it's that people give up. I have converted half of my collection to mkv format and stirpping the disc format because to serve the files to my devices using emby, which I gladly have a premium account, I just have to give up. I have offered the entire code of how to read uhd bluray, as pointed out. I can't imagine how far emby diverged from jellyfin to be unable to use it. I can't say much because the bluray portion is still working the same as it always have. So it got rewritten but it's the same as always? Actually it's not a matter of rewritting anything it's a matter of updating the lib that reads it. So, yeah, it's not that people don't care, there's not enough demand, it's just that devs don't actually implement it and it's a shame because libbluray do exists, reads every single uhd bluray and bluray, including bd-j and in the end, like me, many buy an OPPO and install a custom firmware on it to be able to read BDMV and ISO from their NAS, or build an HTPC and use a software that actually uses libbluray like J River. Just google how many answers in this forum are just: convert to mkv and you will see how many asked for this. And ISO, on windows a windows server it's a bitch to do, but on linux we are talking about a single /mount line to do it. Mount, check structure with ffmpeg, unmount, save info. If ISO is still present, saved info should still be used, read like any BDMV. Hard, kinda.. but worth it in the end. Specially to preserve a medium.1 point
