Ok so my request is to be able to search each library separate as it stands when you search it searches everything, and if like me you have 30k music tracks 10k books/comics 10k episodes and 10k+ movies, searching is slow so is it possible to have a search section for each library individually2 points

Currently Emby does not support loose episodes. All Shows require a minimum of of a Series folder. No sure on why everything would be shown in Scream beside misidentification. Emby TV Naming : Emby2 points

I think that fixed it! What's odd is, I noticed 2 other shows were updated last night as they were released, while that Resident Alien show was stuck showing only 2 episodes. But rolling back the sync date fixed the issue with Resident Alien, showing all 8 episodes now. Thank you so much for your help and response!!!!2 points

I am switching over from a Win7 box running MBC to Chromecast dongles. With the Win7 box I had a HDMI to Cat6 setup that allowed me to stream to up to 4 displays/TVs simultaneously. It was great while it lasted, but involved stapling cables to the ceiling to run it from room to room - plus it has borked Can there be an option to multi-cast to several receivers at once? i.e. simultaneously play to Chromecast dongles in my office and living room and kitchen simultaneously so i can walk from room to room without stopping and restarting the movie or show all the time? I realize that bandwidth could POTENTIALLY be an issue, but i have a fill gigabit network and a multi-port NAS so that really is the least of my worries... Thank you!1 point

Is there anyway to set a default action for the "After this plays, do you want to keep playing or clear the music you previously queued?" question that pops up every time I click a song to play? I like to jump around my music and this is really annoying to have to click clear or keep every time.1 point

I know what you proposed, but, as I mentioned, my AVR only has HDMI 1.4a ports so it doesn't support HDR or Dolby Vision formats, thus I have to plug it directly to the TV to ensure the maximun video quality. The only option to connect directly to TV and AVR is to use a video splitter, but the good ones cost much more than the Chromecast and have issues with HDR and heat dissipation. So I'll maintain this setup untill I change AVR. On the other hand eARC/ARC have exactly the same functionality as the classic video pasthrough from AVR, but from the other end (the TV) and sending audio intead of video, specially with eARC that supports HD & object based audio.1 point

If a premiere user, you should look into the Server Configuration Backup plugin as it backs up users and userdata (ie played state and resume info). But yes multi-select the library or libraries then click the three dot menu at the top right.1 point
-
Hi, no, but the multi-select tool can help you do more than one at a time.1 point

Pretty sure this is the original request. Sound like you have a mixed environment right now with some image/metadata with media and some not. Preemptively cache images - Feature Requests - Emby Community1 point

Make sure you have downloaded a fairly recent driver from Nvidia too. I did find if you selected 'Advanced' instead of 'Yes' or 'No' for enabling hardware acceleration then you see the options to rank encoders/decoders. But I don't know if Emby can or will use multiple GPUs -- like if my Nvidia us already busy (doing something for Emby) will Emby move down the list and use Quick sync for the next encoding/decoding task?1 point

...and plex (there is a thread on this there) has similar behavior as well with the Martian and they are a few versions behind with exoplayer.1 point
-
That makes sense that it would be a problem with the seemless splicing, since it seems to be the extended versions of these movies with the problem in the Atmos track Maybe Exoplayer can be updated in the next beta because one of the audio fixes I found interesting in newer versions of Exoplayer (they are up to 2.13.2 now) which may, or may not help with OOS issues. Retry playback after some types of AudioTrack error The devs will know more but I believe AudioTrack has something to do with the handling of playback position smoothing. I believe @Audiomixer has noticed the problem with the extended version of The Martian also.1 point
-
I expect it's the seamless branching of the versions that is causing the issues - there is a possibility that you can recreate the m2ts files manually and then try and remux. Other options are to grab the Atmos track from the Blu-Ray (non 4K version) and then remux - but unless they are exactly the same bar the resolution, this will not work. It's a shame, as I imagine Black Hawk Down is pretty impressive with Atmos - as all the helicopters and overhead shots should be making good use of the height channels ...1 point
-
If you Google Black Hawk Down and OOS you will find several threads on this 4K UHD having issues with the audio going out of sync. However, some apps like VLC seem to recover well on the discs with problems, but ATV/Exoplayer doesn't seem to be able to do that. The Natural/Black Hawk Down - www.makemkv.com The extended versions of The Martian made in the US are another UHD which has issues. I've remuxed that disc several times and there's nothing you can do about it. Either the app needs to recover, or you can pause and restart to get it back in sync.1 point

Thanks for replying. It's interesting that I - maybe it's just we oldies - don't think of a link to my Profile at the top of the page was a menu item. I can accept that from a detailed implementation perspective that it might be.1 point

Go for the Pro - the tube version is restricted by it's lack of memory and it's OS type.1 point

If your devices are local - port forwarding is not necessary. The router usually also provide local DHCP addressing. So you will likely have to reboot everything attached to the new router - and make a note of all the new Ip addresses it allocated. Emby should pickup the new IP after a restart - and then use this new emby address to reconnect the previous local devices.1 point

Is this the latest MakeMKV ? Have you tried demuxing and remuxing the streams in MKVToolNix GUI or if you can ffmpeg ? If it's only certain files - then I would suggest they are at fault and emby/exoplayer is not handling the 'fault' gracefully.1 point

Just FYI, in Android TV, Fire TV and Roku, if you search from within a library, the results are limited to that library.1 point

Just moved my family across to Emby for remote use, and have noticed an opportunity. My old media server would make it very obvious to the admin in the web client when the service was in use, maybe the restart button could be colored if the server is in use Red - Streams of other users playing Amber - Users activity in last 5? minutes maybe an "service in use warning, are you sure' on shutdown/restart of Emby. when introducing the service remotely to family it would be helpful to have a very obvious que for admins on the web client, that there are users on the server (to act as que to check service performance while new service is bedding in) i just missed the fact a user was on the system and restarted, they thought this service isnt as reliable.. the dashboard does have the info, i am making the case to make it even more obvious.)1 point

It turns out that when VLC creates a playlist it uses the escape character "%20" instead of a standard space. Removing them fixed the issue.1 point

Hi, please note, this is not the same as what's being discussed here. This topic is about sessions that have already completed whose temp files have not been cleaned up yet. In your case, you have a user who is leaving it going all day long, which is another situation. What I would suggest is to ask them to enable the "are you still watching" feature in the app so that it will automatically stop after a few hours of idle activity.1 point

Hi, this has been changed for the next release, so that if you've provided a custom address, then this is the one that will be broadcast. thanks.1 point

Shame on me, it was not enabled, you're like Muhamed Ali - The World's Greatest. All is working now.1 point

Injection of Live TV m3u and EPG to IP TV Simple from Emby server is on my todo list, but no high priority. Not sure if this is on your agenda. If yes we can collaborate on that. I'm already using it on my Kodi Boxes as a manual approach.1 point

General info: If someone is affected by a sync bug, Kodi DB is out of sync. The method (rollback the sync date -> before the issue) always works if the ACTUAL BUG IS FIXED IN THE UPDATED VERSION! Probably I'll add a option in the plugin to rollback the sync date.1 point

@quickmicbeen playing with 5.02.04 on my Win10 test machine today and it's stable as rock. I also have Emby and tmm nicely working together now. Time to move my 2 operational Kodi setups (Nvidia Shield and Fire TV)) to E4K. Thanks again for al the great work you are doing here.1 point

They stole nothing - its part of the license emby was distributed under at the time allowed anybody to fork it and use it you need to educate yourself and stop pushing rubbish1 point
-
"Freely" isn't the word I would use. When you start circumventing things like license or premium features for more than your own use and forking with a name change and ONLY license changes that's pretty blatant. It's one thing to remove "donationware" messages/badges for your own use or to open up features intended for those that did donate by bypassing flags but when you essentially put out a donationware version by "hacking" it and making it available to everyone else even though you didn't have any time invested other than the simple hack, well you have the start of JF. While technically legal, it's highly immoral to do that for sure. Like a good cook making an apple pie (or crumble) you get a few bad spots in your fruit, you cut that out so it doesn't ruin the whole pie. Emby adapted it's recipe moving forward and made a better pie. Bad analogy I'm sure but now I went and made myself hungry for a good piece of pie.1 point
-
Its not shareware : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shareware They did not steal it, it was freely given under the terms of the active license at the time of the fork.1 point

That's always a tough one to handle. Maybe you could ask the user to exit and go back in every 4 hours or so during a commercial???1 point

Unfortunately like I said above, as much as I love Emby... the Apple TV player isn't nearly as important as some of the other players to the Emby development team at this point. At least that's how it seems. I love Emby and run it as my main media server, I just have to use Infuse as my media player on the TV's that use Apple TV. Live TV is another issue but for media playback that's my set up. Not ideal, but it does work.1 point

Can you show what version a user is playing so admins can tell easily if they are playing a 4K or HD version?1 point

Dashboard: Please show audio/video parameters in use Filename & path in transcoding info1 point
-
When I'm on the dashboard, if a file is transcoding it gives a nice little bit of info. However, if it would give the full path name of the file, I would find that useful for somethings. Thanks for listening!1 point
-
Please allow more "freedom" to create custom sections like this, i would like to see something like "admin recommends" section where admin can select what to show in that custom category.1 point
-
The panels for each active stream in progress show what is being played, its position, etc. The information about the audio/video of the stream is only shown when transcoding is taking place. The request is for each stream/client displayed in the dashboard to show, in some way: Current audio format Current video format Current subtitle format Current file name being streamed (not the entire path, just the file name) Is the stream considered local or internet I think these will be very helpful to see if the stream is behaving as expected, and give useful information to help identify/resolve issues, especially when there are multiple resolution files available for the same movie and transcoding is/isn't happening as expected. Would also identify if transcoding something to an additional, different format could enable directly play and avoid realtime transcoding.1 point

Hi, I've done this to myself a couple times.... I have a MB restart pending or add a plugin and do a manual restart. However, I fail to notice if a user is currently using the server (or live tv is recording currently) and it stops recording or playback for the user. When clicking on restart from the admin account on the web UI, could Emby check for current activity (or recording scheduled within X minutes so it doesn't fail to record during the restart process) and warn/show a list of current activity and a "are you sure" kind of message. Would have saved me a couple times from myself... Thanks, Erik1 point
