  1. At the risk of repeating myself, final word should be left to the individual's discretion, instead of forcing a one size fits all approach which, inevitably, will be perfect to some and an eyesore to the next guy. And those options should be available for all platforms, not just for the flavor of the month/trendier one. (Yes, Including Windows, for the apparent dinosaur I've become).

  2. Yes, only open the ports you need - if you never need to access your system externally (I believe you said you do not share your emby system?), then you should have no ports open. This is where the port scan will confirm what you have open. Also ensure uPNP is OFF/DISABLED on the router.

  3. Yes is about the online store account, so different stores means you pay at each store. But all devices from specific store are covered with your store account. And remote users will have to unlock their devices as they are not linked to your specific online store account. You have to get Emby Premiere for the server is you wish to unlock remote user devices. Standard Premiere unlocks 25 devices. But it is about the client as browser connections do not require premiere/unlock mostly but is feature dependent. Emby Premiere Feature Matrix : Emby

  4. Be able to create playlist based on a certain criteria, like genre and or year, in order to create a dynamic playlist that it refreshes automatically when new content is added. This way you can for example, create a tv comedy playlist from the 90's, or a new sci-fi Movies playlist. Some other criteria for rules could be the rating, watched/unwantched, score, tags, language, audio codec, etc The possibilities could be endless

  5. I nearly always have issues with embedded subtitles and always try to get external ones (the language I want is never embedded anyways) so it would be great to be able to disable embedded subtitles so it will only show external ones or none at all if they don't exist. Thanks a bunch!

  6. Hi, I'm one of (I presume) many people using emby from a bi/trilingual background, and as such have TV Shows that often have more than one audio track (German / English / Japanese in my case). You can set your preferred languages for Audio Tracks in emby of course, but I would like to see this expanded a bit: It would be awesome, if you could set the default language for a Movie / TV Show / Season seperately on a per-user basis. For example, I might have a show with a German and an English Audio track, and our defaults are set to German (the language spoken in our household), but I personally might prefer to watch this particular show in English and my Wife and kids in German - right now I have to change the language every time I start a new episode, and it would be awesome to be able to save my preferences for the whole show attached to my user. Also, this could (and should) be extended to subtitles and display of the same - it would be awesome to have Anime shown in German to my family, but to me, in Japanese with enabled subtitles (embedded in the video), but disabled for them watching in German. Just my 2cents to make emby more enjoyable for a broader target audience - and thank you for your hard work!

  7. Lots of content has audio levels designed for theatre sound systems. When played through lots of home systems, by the time you turn up the level to the point where you can hear the conversations (especially the conspiratorial whispers), the M&E tracks reach window rattling levels. There is a loudnorm parameter in ffmpeg that may help, and there is a python program ffmpeg-normalize that may perhaps be better. I've not yet experimented with either, but I will report back when I know more. Adding the ability to normalize audio in conversions, preferably by adding the normalized audio as a SAP would seem like a worthwhile feature. Please consider it future revisions of Emby Server.

  8. a user should also be able to set the start and end time of a recording. example: if the first hour of a movie is missed and a re-airing is scheduled, a user can set emby to only record the first hour. disk space will not be wasted, no wasted drive activity, etc.

  9. Hi! Currently the subrip subtitles are extrated on the fly when playing from, for example, an MKV container. the process is slow, don't show the subtitles from start, and if the file is 4k/1080p on a slow server (ej Rpi) it could timeout and leave us without subtitles. What I am thinking about: - When searching for subtitles on open subtitles, etc, if there is no standard (srt) file found extract it using something like this: mkvextract tracks video.mkv 3:video.srt I'm currently manually running this for each file with subrip embedded subtitles and it works like charm, and I'm sure that the subtitles are correct. There are multiple tools that get the job done, I choose this because it's open source and currently maintained. https://mkvtoolnix.download/ Thanks!

  10. I can't reproduce that, so I think that's a good sign that it's resolved for the next release. Thanks.

  11. Yes but the question I've been trying to get answered is whether or not that should impact the Album Artists view. I fully expect to see both on the Artists view...or would if I ever used that view. On Album Artists I expect to see the value I've put in the ALBUMARTIST tag. If the ARTIST/ARTISTS tags are impacting the Album Artists view then I'm pretty stumped as to why we'd even have both views.

  13. I know it is not from this plugin, it is from the CoverArt plugin and no option to disable that I am aware of. I believe you have to use ignore or Plain treatment on Movies to not show this indicator. @ebr

  16. I beg to differ. On Netflix the only time I see a horizontal scroll is when I'm on the Home page. Anytime I look up movies outside of the home screen, it's a vertical scroll.

  17. It's something I used in Plex often. It's nice having everything in one spot, especially if you don't know what you want to watch. The developers already created an option to include collections into a main library. My gripe with the feature is once you enable, you no longer see individual titles if they're part of a collection [when sorted by title].

  18. Thank you Cayars for your assistance today. Thank you for remoting into my pc and fixing my database issue, restoring my playstates, and tweaking everything. Awesome support from team Emby!

  19. No, those get burned in with transcoding if the client app doesn't support them.

  20. Understood - any wifi-extender with an ethernet port should do the job. The key is feeding it's ethernet output into the WAN side of your router so it can NAT/route it onto your LAN. To note - and probably to save you a lot of unnecessary config, For the 2 weeks in isolation, I don't think you NEED to have internet access for Emby as the license etc only periodically checks. Also, unless you are using the Premier functions while you are there - then playback may well work just fine without it anyway ? Worth testing.

  21. This is a pretty standard setup for most users as any traffic initiated from within your own network should, generally, be regarded as safe. Personally I have f/w rules for both inbound and outbound - but it means a lot of work getting things to 'work' beyond the standard ports - think consoles etc - all will need bespoke rules. Unless you have a test network, have time to get it right and maintain it and know what you are doing , then I would avoid blocking outgoing requests by default. If you are using the ISP supplied router, then unless there is a setting to turn of the echo reply, then there is nothing you can do about this as it's the WAN side that is replying. ICMP in itself is not a danger, but you are advertising to the world that you are there - why do that unless you have to - It is far better to stay silent.

  22. If the next release of the app does not make a difference, we will have to find a way to look into it further. Thanks.

  23. @Happy2Play Has pretty much covered it. You basically need a 'bridge' from the supplied Wifi to your 'local' LAN within your room. If your current router does not have this mode, then something like a tp-link AC750 Travel Router (link below) does exactly this. 1. 3rd Party Wifi(internet) > TP AC750 in 'Client Mode' > Existing Router/AP WAN side (used as a Room DHCP server and Room Wifi-AP) 2. Existing Router/AP LAN side > Switch Port 3. NAS > Switch Port In short, you will be using the provided Wifi as a 'WAN' and routing it via your Existing router onto your LAN - which provides both LAN switch ports and your own private Wifi. ps - I use this Travel Router myself from my mobile hotspot Wifi (from 3G/4G) to my Router/Fw as an internet 'backup', so know it's good for this. https://www.tp-link.com/uk/home-networking/3g-usb-adapter/tl-wr902ac/

  24. Keep it, it's just a recommendation. Actually Kodi 19 breaks so many plugins, it's better to start from scratch to have a defined state. Especially for people who used a lot of plugins in Kodi 18. Even if plugins are already migrated to Kodi 19, they mostly in a early dev state.

  25. As Frontbyte and Happy2Play both mentioned this is a different app and different store. It's no different then a iOS purchase and a Android TV purchase through Google Play store. Two different stores and two different accounts. The very best solution is with an Emby Premiere membership which unlocks features plus 25 devices (any).

  26. I don't believe your account on the Google store is the same as the account in the Amazon store.

  27. @Doctor Bob May want to remove/update image above to remove WAN access address. But no there currently is no option to hide this. For local/LAN/DDNS access via the web client you could use custom css. Not sure if this will work as it is from a test system I have on 4.3.0.30 and css can change in every release. #btnUpdateApplication {display: none;}

  29. I can confirm that 5.2.01 fixed the backup issue I reported earlier. Only a new issue came in it's place, when using "Emby options/refresh this item" I'm getting an error now. This was working fine in 5.1.17. https://paste.kodi.tv/sajesucihu

  32. All this time later the Emby Theater Deskop app still doesn't scale and is horrendous to work with in TV display mode, though it looks great on my 4K 49" Desktop ... it doesn't work well with the mouse, flaky in where clicking will open something. Feels sluggish using it overall. Desktop is just tiny and unuseable for the most part, yes usable but it's ugly and frustrating to look at. My laptop is the same as the post of mine quoted above, and it is even more horrendous to use with TV display mode. I don't like the Windows Store version, so .... It makes no sense ET Desktop version can't scale with desktop settings for the pc in windows. What is the difference in Desktop vs. Windows Store ET apps comparing why one doesn't and one does scale? Both pc's I use to watch Emby content are bigger than 1080p resolution, so need scaling up so that UI is as it would be on a 1080p screen. Please update something to work for this situation, many others no doubt would be happy about it too. Desktop/TV display mode combination with scaling would be a nice change for PC.

  36. Hi there, in germany you have to pay for any EPG data but I get legal access to different streams because i have to pay for them by law. It would be nice to get the ability to program or start a record like I've done it on a old VRC. Just enter, program and time. thx

  37. Under the emby config path edit system.xml. Change the password value and restart the emby server. system.xml: <CertificatePassword></CertificatePassword>
