  1. No at this time. No. And Emby would earn a shitstorm if it does it by default. You are for sure not alone, but don't have many friends.

  2. I absolutely love this plugin but for one tiny little thing. Would there be any chance of changing the "Box Sets" overlay to say "Collections" or "Collection" instead and align with everything else? The Emby menu says collections as does all the poster art so it just seems a little out of place to have it say Box Sets.

  3. Reporting back! I've stripped out all subtitles except one from all the movies giving problems. And all of them are working perfect now through Emby. So the many subtitles were the key issue here. Thanks a lot for figuring this out!

  4. Sorry for the late reply, as a new member I couldn't reply any more yesterday - I hit my limit! It's probably for the best I couldn't reply, as the scan of my content took well into the night. It finished this morning and everything has been A-OK. No problems thus far. ESET was installed beforehand, but I cannot remember if I installed Emby prior or post ESET being live on the PC. It could have made a difference Emby was able to install correctly, uninhibited by ESET's overzealous protection. This time around I installed Emby post ESET being live. Regardless, it is all OK now. Thanks again all for your help and contributions on the matter.

  5. First sensations are very good, playback start is very fast and seeking too, even if target resolution is 4K. In that situation purples and oranges cannot play. Very good!

  6. Aha, good point. I'll give it a try later today and report back here with the results. I don't need any subtitle stream as I use seperate srt files as subtitles anyway, so I'll strip out all subtitles on one of the "broken" movies, and see if that fixes it. I had my focus on codecs, and not on those text streams, but that's a big difference indeed. I'll let you know the results later today!

  7. no it got removed think it had an issue and the emby way is usually to remome something rather than the radical idea of actually fixing the problem

  9. I mentioned it in another thread, but thought I'd put it here since this looks like a new section--just for posterity. Would like to have a bulk meta data editor function. For example, if I have 750 videos whose producing studio is the same, I want to select those videos and apply the name of the studio to those videos. Similarly, if there is a custom tag I want to apply to a subset of those movies, I want to be able to select them in bulk and apply the tag to those videos (instead of selecting them one by one).

  10. When setting up a new user I think it would be great if I could copy an existing user. Even better if you could copy certain aspects of a user like views , library access , parental settings

  11. With the multiple versions feature you get a pulldown in the web client to select the version. When you do, the other pulldowns for audio tracks and subtitles also change for that version. However the duration and the Ends At display remain the same even though the versions have different durations. Would it be possible to have those two fields in the display change with the chosen version? Thanks.

  12. Where does this information come from ? I´m devolping apps for Apple as well. There are no optioons to buy a licence to get "more" possibilitys to use the Apple APIs. The only difference is, that Infuse is only devoloping software for iOS, so there knowdlege in devolping apps for Apple will be is much higher then from the Emeby Team. There are also some other small devoleper, like the one man show MrMc App, that is able to play MKV Files with HDR correct. So in the End, there are APIs available to use the full power of the Apple TV, you "only" need to integrate it in your own written app... In my opinon, first you should work on the technical part, like playing the most known video and audio files as best as possible. When that will be fine, spend your time on details, like the GUI and so on...

  13. FR out of the discussion in another thread, but actually belongs here. Original post copy/pasted: "I'd definitely disagree with anything bypassing general Lock. However, I reckon that Metadata menu should be reworked there as those two sections - Lock All and Individual locks - atm, are kinda counter-intuitive and opposite to each other: Tick on Lock All means 'prevent' changes while tick on individual field means 'allow' changes. I think that that section should actually be renamed to 'Lock Individual Fields' and all checkboxes be off by default, as opposed to current 'Enabled Fields' (which is also an unhappy compromise, as all those fields ARE actually enabled at all times, one's just deciding about their content) with all boxes ticked." Since both sections deal with the same mechanism, but the inverse-logic is applied, suggestion is for it to be streamlined/unified: On/Off in both occurences. In addition, it would considerably increase actually locked field visibility. To put things in perspective: [Sub-section] METADATA CHANGES - Lock ALL Fields * Lock this item... - Lock INDIVIDUAL Fields * Title * Year * Genre ... With all checkboxes default to Off. Typing from mobile so limited on formatting, but I'm sure you got the idea... Cheers

  17. Hi there. First, I suggest you edit your post and change the topic title to "Local" or "LAN" connection issue, as that might be more indicative of your issue - and consequently inform community in a more targeted way. "Remote" refers to WAN access, outside your network. Next, could you please describe with a little more detail (like your current setup and IPs) and how did you try to connect?

  18. Hi Guys, i have a nooby question... is it possible to configure any settings to get in the homescreen of the tvos on the top when i select emby but didnt started not the "next up" episodes or "contuine watching" films ... i would prefere to see only the new added films there...

  19. I think you've just hit the nail on the head. When you 'cast to device' the subtitle streams are being ignored, but 33 text streams in the file is causing issues on the TV. Can you strip out a bunch of the sub streams that you don't need and see whether that fixes it?

  21. Yes, but I no longer have the manual! I think you're right, DD+ was supported. I'm not sure if we can do much for this. It looks like it's using DirectPlay, so if there is a render 0 error then it's something that the TV doesn't like and I don't know how we determine what that is. Actually, I think i know the issue: 33 text streams, that is probably breaking it

  22. Hi — There’s currently no way to configure what’s shown on the Top Shelf. Certainly something we could consider for the future. Thanks for the suggestion!

  23. Didn't you used to have an ES? SamsungES The manual for that model says it supports DD+ 01-XTDVBEUE-ENG-1109.pdf (samsung.com)

  24. Actually, I don't think the legacy app makes use of these settings. I suspect that EAC3 may not really be supported even though the app allows it

  25. Downvote on this one. As @crusher11 already stated, system does just fine as it is. Since it already accommodates all the requests made in this thread: placement before/in the middle/after any Season, placement in-between any two episodes - achievable through few clicks - I see no reason to introduce another variable and, subsequently, increase complexity. And where would you scrape the metadata from, for these decimal episodes? TVDB supports integers only, I suppose other meta-providers don't fare any better. Even with Absolute episode numbering, Specials are still excluded, IIRC. So you'd still have to insert ALL metadata manually as opposed to one or two numbers (Season/Episode) for placement. How's that simpler?

  26. Very nice! To offer some stats for Linux if needed: Running PopOS (Ubuntu) on an Intel NUC7i5 (Kaby Lake Iris Plus 640). This setup seems to only be able to handle 1 HDR->SDR transcode at a time. (Not an issue for me) With Tonemapping ON an Animated Movie but with low bitrate (4K HDR~12Mb/s) to 1080 20Mb/s: With Tonemapping OFF an Animated Movie but with low bitrate (4K HDR~12Mb/s) to 1080 20Mb/s: With Tonemapping ON an "Normal" Movie with higher bitrate (4K HDR~28Mb/s) to 1080 20Mb/s: With Tonemapping OFF an "Normal" Movie with higher bitrate (4K HDR~28Mb/s) to 1080 20Mb/s: For some reason these seem to behave very differently in terms of GPU usage. EDIT: Put the images in spoilers

  27. Your configuration page should have access to this. CoverArt does a similar thing now. Been a while but I believe the key is to publish your own API in your plug-in that you can call from the config page.

  29. Having a reset to default would be huge. It would allow people to mess with things to get a better understanding of the server and if they don’t like it, just switch back with one click. Great idea and would love to see this implemented down the road!

  31. Going off these images you are talking about DLNA not the Emby Samsung app/client correct?

  32. Correct. It just happens by way of the cache string changing for that particular item image.

  33. We don't have a reset settings to default button, although I guess we probably should. In the android OS you can always clear app data for individual apps. Can we look at a specific playback issue? Thanks.

  34. Ok I believe this issue should be improved for the next release. Thanks.

  35. The dev team is small and the problems with Apple TV are monumental, from every single post about it. They have been working on the problem for 2+ years. Using Infuse is the best way to watch HDR content on an Apple TV. Infuse paid Apple for the licences they need in order to have their app working 100%. Even Plex still has issues, and only has HDR available for plexpass users. Jellyfin HAHAHA. This is what happens when you purchase a device from a company that locks you out of your own content and controls everything with an iron fist and refuses to allow you to play your own media. If you want a better experience, I would personally suggest an Android device like a Shield or FireTV. As for tonemapping, it's coming, but you need relatively modern hardware and can't have a potato of a server. I am just an informed user who has been here for years and I have over 2 decades of encoding and media experience.

  40. I don't think I've ever ran anything but Emby. Then again I had Media Browser back on Windows Media Center. I've converted several Jellyfin and especially Plex users to Emby. I tell them ahead of time to just use Emby but they inevitably have to take a different path. Most the time they come back to me asking how well Emby works or how much I enjoy it. My advice is always the same. "Install Emby, pay for the premiere subscription, shut up and enjoy". And it never fails that they want to talk my ear off about how awesome Emby is after they try it. Duh...I told you to use it on the first go. @dannymichel I definitely like where you are going with the lighter weight fonts. I never really paid attention until I got a much larger TV. The bold is a bit too bold on 75" or larger screens. My personal preference is for a tad wider fonts for the titles. I'm thinking Futura but that's a bit dated. Maybe Poppins from the Google font library...altho it doesn't have a condensed version so might be a tad wide for smaller text. Either way I look forward to the mocks.

  41. You'll find it's just not the software itself but the community as well that make Emby such a great system to use. We've got some great mods who are also very, very active in the forums and devs who probably spend to much time in the forums helping users and tracking down issues. Of course what mostly makes our forums really great is our user base which is some of the most helpful bunch you'll find on a forum anywhere which is a reflection of the software itself. Anyway, welcome aboard!

  42. Hi, not yet. We are working on m1 support.

  43. I kind of doubt Jellyfin will die unless it self destructs. There are a rather large number of people that really seem to believe that bad open source software is somehow superior to pretty good or even great closed source software and there are even more that do not believe developers deserve to earn money. Emby and even Plex are very good pieces of software and there is no reason for them to share their code with others.

  44. Disagree that it would be simpler. The current system does just fine.

  45. This would be great, especially for those movies where the length is significantly different. I've noticed this affects the ability to resume the longer version if the server reports the length as the shorter version.
