  1. Hi, There are a lot of filters available and we can do every possible filtering combinations today with that. Still one missing, the possibility to filter by country. Today there are a lot of local productions and it will be fun to filter for instance all movies coming from China, Russia or France! Think would be great!

  2. Please click "Like this" and share it if you want to support this feature. Thank you ! Hello, There is a Kodi addon call "gdrive" from ddurdle who can read videos (original and transcoding version) directly from Google Drive. Why not build on this idea to integrate Google Drive as source directly in Emby Server ? In addition, Emby could generate automatically the STRM files from one or many Drive folders. And transcodings are already available with Drive so no need to transcode with Emby server. What do you think ? ------------- Three reasons why this feature will be useful and awesome: 1. Cloud is the future and today the cost is affordable. I have a Google Drive Unlimited for $50/month (ie $600/year) and I have unlimited space that is secured against crashes. Knowing the cost of hard drive and the cost of power consumption, its a very good deal. 2. Google Drive transcode video file. This provides different stream quality like Youtube (1080p, 720p, 480p and 360p) and the "image quality/compression ratio" is very satisfying. I can play 720p video on my poor 4 Mbits DSL. 3. You don't need to have a big server. Personally, I opted for a little dedicated server (Kimsufi 2G) for the cost and I can leave it run 24/7! Furthermore, me and my friends can watch movies from anywhere! Basics features that should be included: GOOGLE APPS OAUTH2 for activation and permission playing transcoded version (MP4 360p, 480p, 720p & 1080p) directly into Emby's app playing original file (avi, mkv, mp4) directly into Emby's app import embedded subtitles porwerful script module for multiple folder scanning and STRM generating

  3. No because that would defeat the purpose would it not? Either you want to give the user access to 4K material or not. If they can direct play it great, if not then tone map it while transcoding. You would not want to give them a transcoded video NOT tone mapped as it will look flat and without the proper SDR colors. So you can handle this acces the same way you do now with a 4K library you can allow or not per user.

  4. Be able to create playlist based on a certain criteria, like genre and or year, in order to create a dynamic playlist that it refreshes automatically when new content is added. This way you can for example, create a tv comedy playlist from the 90's, or a new sci-fi Movies playlist. Some other criteria for rules could be the rating, watched/unwantched, score, tags, language, audio codec, etc The possibilities could be endless

  5. Currently, the only certified Android TV device with Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio passtrough support is the Nvidia Shield. However, the original Xiaomi Mi Box was the only affordable device with the same support as far as I know, but it was removed altogether when the Android 9 update arrived recently, it appears it was removed due to licencing restrictions. When we play any video in Emby on any Android TV device without passtrough of the aforementioned codecs, the server transcode the audio stream into Dolby Digital. Why not transcoding those lossless audio codecs into PCM instead to keep the same lossless quality?. Maybe adding an option in the app's settings to turn this ON, because not every user will have their devices connected to a multichannel AVR with HDMI inputs, some still use an SPDIF connection so Dolby Digital is still necessary. I just hope that this is possible to implement for the devs. Thank you.

  6. Hi, Thank you for the great product. It is a pleasure to use it. I have seen some posts but they are years ago regarding my request. Is there a plan to have notification (when adding movies, shows, live tv etc.) from the emby app ? This means to get a push message on my android phone, iphone, windows app, etc. With 3rd party software its not so cool. Thank you.

  7. I would like the ability to adjust the playback speed of my videos and recordings. YouTube.com does this and i think it is a very convenient feature to have.

  8. I've been dying to know if this has garnered enough interest to be worked on. I found Emby (MediaBrowser 3 at the time) and its bookshelf plugin while I was searching for something that was like Plex for comics. Plex doesn't do this (and probably never will), Kodi doesn't have what I'm looking for either, and ComicRack seems to be dead at the moment. Unfortunately the bookshelf plugin doesn't work the way I had hoped. I was dissappointed to see it only offer a download to the file to which I can open it to the program of my choosing. Even browsing through the books I only had the option of going through folder-like directories and couldn't browse by author like the people section in the other media types. I would love for it to be fully integrated into Emby where I can open and read a comic right on my phone and tablet or even my web browser as I could with my movies and tv shows. Also, I hope to god somone is working on the "Games launching in android" feature you mentioned on your up-for-grabs blog post. That would be awesome!

  9. Hello, Perhaps I am not the first one to ask this question but it will be very cool if this feature could be implemented. I have 2 servers one at home and the other at work. ( and soon a third one...) So I have a movies library called movies on each server. I would like to see all the movies from a single 'virtual server location' when I use the app (ios or android ) where I will see only one movies library containing movies informations from the movie library at work and the movie library at home. It's an aggregation of movies informations from the movie library at work and the movie library at home. In fact when a user have multiple servers it will be perfect if another choice in the server list called "all servers" for example appears automatically with a merge of media informations from librairies with the same name on different servers.

  10. Not sure if this has been requested before, but i could not find anything in the forum. I think it would be nice to have a scrubbing (fast forward multiplier) feature in emby. Specifically in the Apps where all we have is a remote control. Or at least have the >| buttons on screen work. only the >> works and at a max of 30 seconds per skip. takes forever to get to say the middle of a movie. Background: We were watching a movie last night, toddler threw a tantrum so we stopped his movie. when he was calm he went to resume it, but, instead of hitting "OK" to resume he hit the "Play/Pause" button on the remote. It restarted the movie. the only way for us to get back to the 60% complete mark is hit the >> button over and over and over only going in 30 second increments. We use our MU8000 Samsung TV app 99% of the time.

  11. Anime4K Anime4K is a set of open-source, high-quality real-time anime upscaling/denoising algorithms that can be implemented in any programming language. The simplicity and speed of Anime4K allows the user to watch upscaled anime in real time, as we believe in preserving original content and promoting freedom of choice for all anime fans. Re-encoding anime into 4K should be avoided as it is non-reversible, potentially damages original content by introducing artifacts, takes up to O(n2) more disk space and more importantly, does so without any meaningful decrease in entropy (lost information is lost). Disclaimer: All art assets used are for demonstration and educational purposes. All rights are reserved to their original owners. If you (as a person or a company) own the art and do not wish it to be associated with this project, please contact us at anime4k.upscale@gmail.com and we will gladly take it down. v3 The monolithic Anime4K shader is broken into modular components, allowing customization for specific types of anime and/or personal taste. What's new: A complete overhaul of the algorithm(s) for speed, quality and efficiency. Real-time, high quality line art CNN upscalers. (6 variants) Line art deblurring shaders. ("blind deconvolution" and DTD shader) Denoising algorithms. (Bilateral Mode and CNN variants) Blind resampling artifact reduction algorithms. (For badly resampled anime.) Experimental line darkening and line thinning algorithm. (For perceptual quality. We perceive thinner/darker lines as perceptually higher quality, even if it might not be the case.) Installation Instructions for GLSL/MPV More information about each shader. Real-Time Denoising (Experimental, WIP) The upcoming version 3.2 will focus on denoising. One version (Heavy-CNN-L) of the experimental denoiser is released for preview. This version is for heavily compressed video. Note that it will likely change/improve upon release. The main focus will be speed, while also keeping a good quality. The new denoisers are/will be trained using a mix of the SYNLA Dataset, DIV2K Dataset, In-The-Wild Images and a tiny subset of the Danbooru2019 Dataset. *Note: Here it is evident that PSNR is not always the best indicator of perceived image quality. The waifu2x denoiser looks shaper, but hallucinates many artifacts, especially near line edges. Real-Time Upscalers Comparison The new Anime4K upscalers were trained using the SYNLA Dataset. They were designed to be extremely efficient at using GPU shader cores (extremely thin, densely connected CNNs). All three versions outperform NGU and FSRCNNX both in upscale quality and speed while also keeping the number of parameters low, as seen in the test image below. This test image was not part of the training dataset, nor is it used as validation for hyperparameter tuning. Performance benchmarks are based on 1080p->4K upscaling and were performed using an AMD Vega 64 GPU. The low resolution (LR) images are generated using the average area downscaling operation, which is the correct downscaling operation when we want to avoid using low pass filtering. Low pass filtering with bicubic/lanczos downscaling works well for natural images, but will destroy fine details in line art. The operation used is equivalent to interpolation = INTER_AREA in OpenCV and -sws_flags area in FFmpeg. Note that this operation is only equivalent to bilinear if and only if the downscaling ratio is exactly 2. The correctness of average area downscaling is especially apparent as Anime4K-L was trained on average area downscaling only, and it generalizes well on unseen bicubic/lanczos degradation (24.94->24.81dB), while FSRCNNX-8-LineArt and waifu2x-CUNet were trained on bicubic/lanczos degradation only and do not generalize well for the unseen average area downscaling. PSNR of (24.93->24.47dB) and (26.02->25.61dB) respectively. Bicubic/lanczos downscaling preserves edge sharpess better than average area downscaling. This artificial sharpness does not represent well the distribution of true LR images (images that were originally low resolution and did not pass through a bicubic/lanczos filter). Link to results file. It has also come to our attention that many anime might have been suboptimally downscaled using the aforementioned low pass + bicubic method, as it is the default operation of FFmpeg. We will tackle this problem in v3.3 (after the v3.2 denoising update) by training the neural network with many different downscaling operations. Comparison Table First in each category is highlighted in brackets. Algorithm x2 PSNR (dB) ↑ Runtime @4K (ms) ↓ Parameters ↓ Bilinear 23.03 0 0 ravu-r4 24.09 3.6 41.4k FSRCNNX-16 24.57 30.4 10.5k NGU-Sharp-High 24.69 11 ? 12. There is a minor issue opening Emby Theatre for Windows in full screen mode that seems to have cropped up since I upgraded to Win 10 20H2. Emby opens, but it is offset slightly up and to the left. I can force correction by clicking the fullscreen button in Emby. The windowsstate.json file in C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\data\electron seems to control this behavior. Inspecting the windowsstate.json file in shows: {"x":-11,"y":-11,"width":1942,"height":1104,"state":"Maximized"} I can correct this by manually editing the above to read (my screen resolution on these computers is 1080p) {"x":0,"y":0,"width":1920,"height":1080,"state":"Maximized"} But when I close Emby Theatre it updates windowsstate.json back to {"x":-11,"y":-11,"width":1942,"height":1104,"state":"Maximized"} which perpetuates the error. I speculate this is an error from Electron. It seems to be miscalculating the parameters for the screen characteristics. Do you have any ideas on what might be causing this behavior? The Emby Theatre for Windows version I am using is 3.0.14 which I believe is the current version. This is happening consistent on all 4 of my Win 10 machines. All are running Win 10 20H2. Manually maximizing the screen is an easy workaround. But this is a bit of annoyance. Got any ideas/suggestions? I see other users are experiencing this problem as well. Thanks.

  13. I apologize if this question has been answered, I spent about 30 minutes searching and there were over 900 pages of results on this forum alone. Is there a plugin or native Emby functionality that would alert me if I am missing an episode? A scheduled task I can run for example that would scan all TV shows in my library and let me know if I am missing any episodes?

  14. It depends on the type of stream. If the stream is mpegts, then generally only one connection is used. If it's HLS or other formats, then it generally will be one for each.

  16. Ok, I'll add an option to reduce also the Audiobitrate in the next version maybe this helps. in 4.x the Audiobitrate was fixed to 192kbit when transcoding. This in not the case in 5.1.13. And I'll add an option to select the transcode mode. This will take a while. Yes, please try advancedsettings.xml something like that for a test (hardcore caching ) <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <advancedsettings> <imageres>1080</imageres> <fanartres>1080</fanartres> <gamesgeneral> <enable>false</enable> </gamesgeneral> <musicthumbs> <add>front.jpg|cover.jpg</add> </musicthumbs> <cache> <buffermode>1</buffermode> <memorysize>0</memorysize> <readfactor>30</readfactor> </cache> <network> <curlretries>100</curlretries> </network> </advancedsettings> Be careful, this is hdd (sdcard) caching! -> sdcard wearout I'm also afk till tomorrow... different timezone Thanks for testing!

  20. The blank placeholder is different then the no image person icon placeholder. The blank image place holder is either a image processor error or a bad url in the database for said person per dozens of other topics. But am guessing you will have this issue for all bad url images you have in your database. But the log could provide more insight.

  22. This should work: <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?> <node order="1" type="filter"> <label>20382</label> <icon>DefaultRecentlyAddedMovies.png</icon> <content>movies</content> <match>all</match> <rule field="tag" operator="is">movies</rule> <order direction="descending">dateadded</order> </node> The "<rule field="tag" operator="is">movies</rule>" defines the label of the lib on Emby server. If you have multiple "movie" libs on Emby, it's required to define the tag. If you remove it, all new movies will be shown. No matter where they are coming from.

  25. Hi, I'd post the issue with the iPad in the proper section of the forum where you'll get help from those who use it (I don't, sorry). Glad you had a play with the audio settings. That's the best way IMHO, is just jump in a try it! If your Shield TV and your Emby Server are on the same network I have one additional suggestion I'd make to SUPER CHARGE this setup, but takes a bit of setup work (well worth it). That is to setup direct access. Give this knowledge base article a read which should cover this pretty well. https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44002058112-shield-tv-direct-file-access Let me know if you hit any snags in the setup or need help. But here are a couple of options. div.cardOverlayButton-br button[title="Played"], div.cardOverlayButton-br button[title="Favorite"] {display: none;} or button.cardOverlayButton[title="Played"], button.cardOverlayButton[title="Favorite"] {display: none;} or div.cardOverlayContainer [title="Played"], div.cardOverlayContainer [title="Favorite"] {display: none;} 5. Works for me in both release and beta, but is not working as I wanted as it removes from the dashboard also do to difference in code. a.navMenuOption[title="Settings"]:not([data-navmenuid="/dashboardgeneral.html"]) {display: none !important;} Now if the issue is trying to target user vs admin with css that is not possible. It is all or none to my knowledge.

  38. Nearly a year soon since last LG update. I really hope this is a good release for this nearly year wait, and also fixes the EPG layout bug that has dogged the past several releases and smaller things like bigger font for the TIME as too small on screen, and larger show logos like Apple and Roku Emby apps show correctly..... I look at Plex they are miles ahead; but I'd rather stay Emby, but once per year release with little changes. When is the TV channel management going to happen where I can renumber my channels (without a PDH using other hacks) and extend a recording whilst its recoding if required.

  39. I found a couple posts on audio-book support and I'm sure this isn't a very popular request; so I was wondering if it would be possible to save playback position in playlists? I know that music is handled very differently, but I was hoping that the resume playback feature that is alive and well in the video section could somehow be applied to playlists therefore creating a pseudo-audio-book player? This would make it one of the few ubiquitous Audiobook players that I know of.. Thanks again.

  41. I was googling for something just now and came across 'Jellyfin', clicked on try now and it's the same as Emby, I mean WTF?! I was using MediaBrowser back in the day and used the beta of Emby, I then left for while as I didn't have the need to stream media but a couple of years ago I thought it would be great to be able to stream it all etc.... ever since I've been using Emby, reading this thread has just made me think, I really should pay, so I have, life time for me, I mean I've been using it for 8 years on and off and now it's part of my everyday life, I use it when I washup in the mornings (phone on the stand by the sink), I use it when I'm in my workshop (Tablet on the wall), I use it in the lounge (the TV), I use it in my van (Andriod Head unit), I use it when I'm at my holiday home (remote connection), I use it when I go to bed (Andriod Projector), I mean I use it a lot, I should pay for all the hard work the guys and gals have put in. When I have an issue, @Luke is normally 'on it straight away' and thats just with a Forum post. If it's not Luke it's ebr or cayens or Happy2Play, its one of the Dev's at least, then there are the amazing knowledgable users themselves that offer help and advice. Yes there a few extra things I would like adding etc... and I am sure they will come in time. Keep up the good work guys and gals, I'm sure Jellyfin will die a death.

  43. Yes, that is the problem. The app is trying to connect to your router instead of your Emby server. Correct it in the network settings on the server.
    1 point
  44. Absolutely we DID! we did, we did, we did. We do not deny this, and it's not a secret. We most certainly banned their use because of piracy and support of our apps. Think about this. We have apps in many different app stores that go through a lot of scrutiny. If our apps connect to not only Emby Servers where we know content types to also connecting to JellyFin servers where a plugin could add any any data it wanted we could be viewed just like Kodi or Popcorn and get banned rather quickly. This can not be allowed to happen to Emby Users! It should be obvious that if Emby apps can connect to "the wild west" it would not be a good thing for Emby. Besides that, let's be realistic. Should I (Emby support person) have to spend 20 minutes working with a user remotely using our Emby for Android TV app to only find out they aren't using our server but JellyFin? It's one thing if the problem is in the app but quite another if the server is far beyond the app in features and can't deliver the info requested and giving errors. Same question in other context. Should users on our forums need to try to support or help people not running Emby but some other forked software? That's not fare to our users! Hopefully you can see why this won't work. Emby apps are designed to work with Emby servers, not JellyFin servers. We support our apps working with our servers and WILL DO REMOTE SESSIONS to help users but it needs to be our Servers we are testing against! We also force server upgrades of our own system via apps to make sure the server doesn't get too far behind. Do you need more info or did I cover this enough? I could go on and on and on and on. Carlo
