If you want to run a commercial server, maybe get something that's designed for running a commercial server?

That could also stop users logging into to your server. With configurable ports you control on your server and ability to map ports yourself, things like this don't need to happen in Emby world.

On a movie or episode's item details screen, if it's in one or more collections there's an "Included In" section which lists the collection(s) that item is, well, included in. It would be nice to have "Remove from Collection" as an option on the three-dot menu of these collections, to enable quickly removing an item from multiple collections, or quickly removing an item from a collection if the error is spotted on the item details screen.

Hi, I would like to have an option to choose H265 instead of H264 in the Transcode option. It will be smaller for all bad bandwidth (2~5Mbit ADSL), but will have a great quality. Mobile phone can benefit of it greatly too with the 4G and the limitation of download.

One thing that I would like to see implemented is the abilty to display lyrics in all of the apps. For those of us who have libraries with lyrics embedded in the actual files, it would be trivial. Simply scrape the lyrics from the lyrics tag and display them. As far as scraping from online lyrics databases, I don't see that working very well as just about every app that I have seen use it either doesn't get the correct lyrics or they are truncated with an add for the website.

Hi, There is a chance to add alternative option to transcode audio from unsupported format like DTS to EAC3 instead of AC3 (to tizen emby app)?

The pfx will be owned by the user who creates it, the one running openssl. Certbot creates the pem files, it doesn't create the pfx file so "certbot renew" only gets you partway there. The pfx file is a container to hold the certificates in a pkcs12 file format. With LetsEncrypt they need to be replaced every 90 days. Other ACME based clients might have the option to renew the certs and create the pfx in one step but I haven't explored those.

No, because the problem is not that your external address changes, but that there is no port forwarding through the cgNAT inside your ISP. You can set up port forwarding through your own NAT, in the router, but this is not going to happen in the ISP's network unless you can negotiate a fixed address (and the port forwarding) with them. The bigger your collection gets, the more of a headache this is - and other than 'finding' files at the OS level - it's not necessary. Games like minecraft open a tunnel from your lan to a central set of servers where info is exchanged. There is no central server for Emby as it's a client/server type relationship where each client connects directly to your server. The only other way to setup something like this is to run a FULL TIME VPN service such as PIA with port forwarding (not all VPNs support this). What this will do is allow you to use the public IP of the VPN server for Emby use. Take a look at different VPN services available in your area (you want servers near you, not on different continents) and see which ones offer "port forwarding". Feel free to check in with us on any that you find for recommendations on which one to use or help with the setup.

Hi. No one has to setup an account on our site to use your server. You can create local users and give them the address and credentials to log in. Users In your case, the playback limits in the apps are not relevant because you want to use Live TV which requires a Premiere subscription anyway. Unlimited. I got the feeling last night this was not actually a real stream limit issue, but something else. Was my first go at 4k videos (on a 1080p device) and at some point the playback got a little stuttery and at some point the emby app (on a shield) decided to switch to transcoding which in turn got the whole system to a stop in the end, because my backend seems to slow to transcode 4k into 1k with > 24fps. Never ever had that with 1080p content, so I am suspecting some conversion/downscaling issues, which would have to be put somewhere else and not in this thread. Will investigate further and if necessary open a new thread to not derail this any further.

Ok, that sounds good, but in practice it doesn't work very well. see the "NFL Season" image. that is if fact a poster provided by IceTV where there is no "Official" series image - it looks as ugly as it gets

I concur with the OP, I had one folder with a movie and subtitle in it with corrupt permissions. I only recognized it when I was looking at the permissions of the media folder and all of its subs. My permission scan would fail on this one folder every time. Once that folder and it's contents were removed (creatively) the scan succeeded on the movie library. I got lucky because of this post (thanks cayars), and knowing what I had recently added and when it started happening. It would be nice to see some error handling that would skip that object and also send that specific error to the dashboard.

I'd have to read it but that's the main "hurdle" I was referring to. Once we can do that then this would be fairly trivial (if not included already in that thread).

Versioning works fine - but typically anime is presented with two audio tracks and soft subs all in one file (saves space!). You can set rules in Emby for which is default (choice by language, or the default set in the file), or choose before (or during) playing. Paul

There would be a couple of technical hurdles to overcome to do this but it's technically possible. Could you open a feature request for this (if not one already)?

Hi guys Wondering if anyone can assist on this. I have an iptv provider, but, they use xtream-codes not m3u, so, its a url, username and password. In the last year, I havent managed to make this work with either Emby or Plex. I have Duplex on my TV (since samsung were nice enough to remove smart iptv haha), and, Smarters on a firestick, but, ideally, want to run it in the live tv section of emby. I have 2, one for live tv, the other boxsets and movies. Is there a plugin/way to get this running? Everywhere I look, its always m3u which I cant do :) Cheers JJ

If by "do that" you mean directly integrate with that provider, then that is correct. We do not plan any integration with that API. However, if you can convert to an m3u then that should work fine.

Loading the EPG in Emby is very slow although not as painful as Jellyfin so it is best scheduled to be performed daily in off hours. 3. It's never really stuck even if it doesn't appear the number is moving. If you look at the log you'll see it's doing it's thing.

I've faced similar issues where if I stop a previously watched video half way through, the episode will be marked as unwatched. I've never been able to pinpoint exactly what is causing this to happen as it doesn't happen all the time, and so I haven't been able to catch this in a log. I'll try to do some testing to catch this in a log.

I get it, LG is horrible about the time of their review process. I was just clarifying if there's any email prompting that can be done as it seems silly it takes them 6-8 months to review app changes.

It's like 5 bucks. If you don't think Luke and company deserve your support, then I am sure they will be happy to see you go and be ignored. Plex forums are famous for issues not being resolved and also for the silence of the dev team. Luke and everyone on the Emby team are EXTREMELY active in the support section, far more than any dev team I have ever seen.
