  3. Hi Subscene has taken refuge in Cloud Flare due to numerous attacks and has closed all IPs that are being attacked or blacklisted. Cloud Flare is able to detect whether the request was sent by the user in the browser or through automated software, and this change has caused the plugin to fail. I try to simulate or bypass this to reach the content of the site, but until then it is not possible to use.

  4. It was a backup of a existing playlist. But I would assume if I properly formatted on it could be hand made.

  5. Also, It would be cool if we have various m3u lists and have the option to choose/assign each m3u list for each user.. Example. In user settings we can choose which library to give them for VOD so this shouldnt be hard enough to do it for live tv too no? USER 1 - Playlist 1 - Playlist 2 - Playlist 3 USER 2 - Playlist 3 USER 3 - Playlist 1 - Playlist 3 Etc etc.... *** Delete this message from another topic I opened because I posted it by accident there

  6. I found a couple posts on audio-book support and I'm sure this isn't a very popular request; so I was wondering if it would be possible to save playback position in playlists? I know that music is handled very differently, but I was hoping that the resume playback feature that is alive and well in the video section could somehow be applied to playlists therefore creating a pseudo-audio-book player? This would make it one of the few ubiquitous Audiobook players that I know of.. Thanks again.

  7. Yes, I think if we have this there wouldn't really be any reason to limit it to only audio.

  8. Mostly because I don't have the time to learn how to make a plugin for emby, so I did it with python/docker because I know those better. One of the devs reached out to ask if it was OK to use this idea built into the server or as a plugin and I said YES. It would be wonderful to have this built in, rather than as a sidecar. The current setup is hacky, but it was a fun weekend project so that was OK for me. It's mostly meant as a proof of concept for this sync method.

  10. The background, border, and icon are all written by the image processor in separate passes, so that might be possible. I'm also interested in adding a mode where you can have the icon only with no badge. I'll work on both of those soon. Right now, I'm fixing the badge sizes so they'll be consistent across all image types.

  12. It is a matter of logistics but NOT for the reason you mentioned. You can add almost an infinite amount of storage rather easily but you can not do the same for upgrade to CPU/GPU as there are physical limits and diminishing returns on faster HW. Think about it another way. If you're going to drop say $1000 (cheap) on CPU/GPU upgrades that's about 45 to 50 TB of drive space which I'm sure would hold all the 1080 versions of your 4K material.

  15. It's a user setting under 'Parental Controls' - just add a Tag eg 'Restricted' and then deny that user access to anything with that Tag. NoStream/4K used in the example, but you get the idea ..

  16. Not at this time. There is an existing FR for that.

  17. The 1060s came out as both pascal and turring. I made sure mine was a turing model when I purchased it. Either way I'd just wait and test. I'm sure people will be posting number of transcodes that can be done and we can maybe all test with an HDR demo/trailer so we can compare numbers.

  18. If they are only interested in a few files, then the easiest way to do this is to is to deny everything in 'Parental Settings' for their account - and just Tag the files you want them to see. In the example below - anything with the Tag of '4K' will be able to be seen/played - but obviously you can name it whatever you wish ..

  19. @cochize1 and @arrbee99 I've attached a new beta version to the build post linked below that will hopefully solve the missing badges for both of you. I found and removed some legacy code from the early days of the plugin that could cause Iconic to skip a Movie before analyzing the rules. It's possible there are other reasons for some of your Movies getting skipped, but this was a likely culprit. Thanks again for all your help in testing this.

  22. I like the "tmp" test to rule out base/core Emby issue. I'd also try adding media manually without Auto Organize as maybe that could be causing the issues as well. In situations like this it's often a process of elimination to find the culprit.

  23. Emby isn't made to share with the general public. It is a private media server. You would want to host those items on Google Photos or Amazon Photos and have those links fed from those services.

  30. I don't see why not assuming everything is correct. I just placed a Test [playlist]\playlist.xml in x:\Emby-Server\programdata\data\playlists and scanned the library and it was imported. Only tested on beta.

  34. You are joking. What they have is something that we would never publish. Their software tone mapping is so slow that they are not offering it. Their Nvidia tone mapping is slow and they have no solution for QuickSync.

  35. It's a half @ss implementation that barely works. Have you read the forums and all the people it doesn't work for (most)? Try it yourself and see if you can get it to work. Then take note of what speed it does. If you get 1.2X speed you can mostly support one transcode and 2 will kill your system so neither works correctly. People running Plex and JellyFin aren't jumping and down with joy about how good it works unless you're one of the few with high end hardware with just the right OS.

  36. They are not - the currently available hardware is, and Emby have repeatedly said they are working to make this as efficient as they can. Complaining because they aren't planning to make it better than currently physically possible is a bit unreasonable, I feel. Paul

  37. It's not being arrogant, it's being practical. As I mentioned, this has not been feasible until just recently (just like DolbyVision, which is another story of user ignorance), and yet none of you in here seem to understand the technology behind it, nor the work that is involved. It takes a minimum of 17k passmark score to transcode a 4k file down to 1080p. That is before tonemapping gets involved. Do you really think it's proper to waste that amount of power so someone can watch a movie on their phone? In the long run, it will cost you less to buy more HD space to keep your libraries separate than it would to transcode them every single time a user with a non compliant device attempts to play them back. Intel will have a full hardware solution with their 11th gen chips. Software solutions will still take more power than most people have bothered to put into their Emby servers. Even if we look at Plex, the only answer they have with 100% support is in LInux. Every other OS is done in software, meaning no NVENC, no VCN/VCE no Quicksync. So unless you have a balls to the wall server, or running Linux, tonemapping is not going to be feasible for you. Which means about 90% of the people who run Emby will not even be able to use this feature once it's implemented, because let's face it, most people have their server running on potatos. Let's also not forget that there is still no standard for tonemapping, and that the current plugins don't work 100% of the time. So when tone mapping brings your server to its knees, and your colours look off, what are you going to do? Oh that's right, everyone will moan and complain that the software is garbage because you users don't understand the complexities behind it all.

  40. Yes, if Emby cannot cannot provide the EPG data, then I can highly recommend epg.best. 2 things, first you need an m3u file of your current channels. Someone linked a phython script which can extract that from my hdhomerun tuner. I DO NOT code in Phython, so it toke me some hours to get that to work, and also I had to change something to make the script work. Second, I found epg.best could be better in guiding you when using it for the first time. So when importing a m3u, it's default setting was something like "import channels, delete from m3u" or similar. I just went with that default, but nothing happened. I found out had to change it to ""Get EPG data" or something like that. Just to be aware of.

  41. I switched to epg.best some weeks ago, and I must say I like epg.best much better than SD. And I especially like epg.best service because I do not need a server to run XML grabber stuff to get the XML feed that Emby needs. epg.best delivers that directly. And also it has EPG data for channels I was actually missing from SD.

  42. Right I mean we went through this same situation. The difference with us is that we've always been friendlier to our users and I think that's why people took it better.

  43. Right I think part of the blowback against tvdb making this move is that they've never had a very friendly community to begin with. A long time ago when I was just a Media Browser user I reported some incorrect show data on their forum and was responded to rudely about it. At that point I said I'm not doing this again. I've heard more similar stories than I can count over the years. So at least Tmdb does not have that problem. I'm just saying that down the road they may grow to a point where they can't sustain themselves being free either, and hopefully users will be understanding if that happens.

  46. From time to time it seems that the Emby Trakt plugin goes crazy somehow. When I suddenly lost the ability to use Trakt, as I detailed in another thread thread, I had done nothing different and Trakt reported that I suddenly had 1000s and 1000s of api hits to Trakt. It was not anything I did at all and, after Trakt reset my account, everything has been fine and my activity is low normal. I have no idea what is happening at all and no idea if there is anything that can be done to prevent it from happening again. My guess is that there is actually a bug of some kind in Trakt's api interface and every so often things just go haywire. I keep a backup free Trakt account active just in case but there has been no need for it, thank goodness. I do not think that the Emby plugin is actually at fault but rather the Trakt bug get activated on some kind of rare combination of events. Of course "I could be wrong, but I don't think so."

  47. Thought there was already a topic about this, but I am unable to find the one I meant. I did find some that discuss parts of what I am going to suggest though. My personal preference would go to playlist so I will focus on that, though if it would go towards collections instead, that's also fine with me. At this moment I seem to be unable to get my playlist the way I want it, though I may be overlooking certain settings or things I am simply doing wrong. 1. Make it so playlists are account bound rather than server wide 2. Enable the admin to create a playlist that is available for everyone (server wide) simply by pressing a specific button/box within the playlist 3. Serverwide playlists should only be adjustable by admins (which items are added/removed and moving them in order) 4. A button for the playlist section in movies and series (see attached picture). Right now it is available for audio libraries, but not for movies and series libraries Personally I don't like having a clutter of playlists that have been made by other accounts showing up in my account. On top of that, all those playlists can be deleted and changed by anyone that finds them, which is also pretty bad. Some of this also applies to collections I believe? Which means people can simply delete collections made by others. More importantly making collections should be restricted to admins in my opinion, playlists can be made by anyone. And my final reason for the 4 adjustments is that I have playlists disabled as a library on my account (since I hardly ever use them and don't want the library showing up on my homepage). However this means there is no way to reach them (besides finding one of the movies/shows in the playlist). For music playlists you can simply go to the correct music/audio library and click the playlist section on top. Movies and shows however don't show in the music/audio libraries playlist section, and as shown in the picture below, there is no such section in the movie and series libraries themselves. I feel playlists and collections therefor need some improvements. This would also help with all the star wars/star trek/harry potter/MCU/DCU/etc. playlists or collections people want to create where they are in viewing order. Personally I believe a global playlist would be best, but the way the settings are right now, that could get messed up easily. Collections could also work, but would need a custom order option (or viewing order option) rather than by year (or at least I think it goes by the years).

  49. Hi. I think if you look in this forum, you will see very active response on all issues from members of the Emby team. In fact, you are going to get to interact with actual developers instead of a chatbot or CSR with a script. I think if you give us a chance, you'll see we have pretty good support . What can we help you with?
