@Alex3111, yes I am. It has been very silent on this project from my side. Sorry for that! I have been very busy with 2 bigger projects at the same time so time for EmbyStat is very limited. I was creating the show table again when I realised that the table I'm using is not really that good so I created my own table so it will be beter customisable in the future (also for shows). But I'm really not yet ready to release a next beta because it's still full of bugs. Sorry for the delay!! I hope I will get the missing episode list back asap. (I also didn't figure out how to work with the new thdb v2 API, so that might be tricky as well)2 points

You could always run the Beta Server to get things earlier and help test/refine features.2 points

Guys, The ebook side of Emby/MediaBrowser has been long stalled or rather stagnated. I would like to offer up a couple of suggestions. Many people use calibre as an ebook/comic book tool for scraping data and general management of their collection already. This program is absolutely astonishing in its ability to pull metadata from post calibre scans, as well as draw in metadata from the file source and/or directory structure. http://vaemendis.net/ubooquity/ Its a self contained .jar server/reader combination. And honestly I am very impressed by it's small footprint and wide range of abilities. The other option is COPS , which was written specifically with calibre in mind. It is open source, so making it work with emby I would think would be fairly easy. https://blog.slucas.fr/projects/calibre-opds-php-server/ Ever since the original release of MediaBrowser's bookshelf I have always wanted something that would allow me to 'read' my collection, rather than being basically nothing more than a place-set for images of books I own. I am sure that those who mainly have audiobooks are thrilled with bookshelf , but it's nothing more than an extension of the music library IMHO, not new features. We can have both right? Here I give you two suggestions free of charge.. Just because I love you, and Emby Personally I plan on running the Ubooquity Server along side of Emby from now on, just because of it's massive functionality and tiny footprint. But I sure hope that someone decides -- "yeah, ebook support should be in here too" and do something about it - rather than allow this now very very ancient issue to continue to remain an issue. And so I don't have to have 20 different ports open, some with SSL support - some not, because Emby isn't delivering the 'complete package'. (Please take some of this with humor, I know you have your hands full with improvements/bugs/suggestions/requests)1 point

I made this plugin quickly today because I was having issues with certain client application swamping my device lists. As you can see from the image below: The plugin will list and group all your devices saved in the Emby Database: WOW! 1394 versions of Chrome saved in the Database! Let's remove the old and insignificant ones using this plugin. Okay, now there is only one version of Chrome, which is the Client Session that is being currently run (the plugin skips over any sessions that are currently in use - We don't want to kick anyone off the server inadvertently). This is better, and the Devices page loads instantaneously after doing a little bit of browser cache clearing. Note: See how quickly Chrome tricks Emby into thinking it is a new Device Connection! Holy COW three more just added themselves since the clean up! The console will list the removed device ids in red There is a user dialog which allows for custom threshold limits with regards to what is considered too many devices stored. Fixes: -Plugin is satisfied with the amount of clients logged in the database and didn't know what do. Now it does. -Added User input Threshold limit dialog -Device removal will show in red inside the browser console - these are not errors, it it's to confusing I'll change the color to hot pink. Possible Future Updates: 1. Create a Scheduled task that will be customizable to remove specific clients automatically that are a certain age. 2. User will be able to set the threshold for what is considered "TOO MANY INSTANCES!" (Currently set to 25 instances) 3. Update Plugin UI when Devices are removed from the Database. (There is currently no UI updating - Press the Get Devices List - Button) 4. Make it pretty or something (right now it is utility, and there is no time to make it pretty). EmbyStat is a personal web server that can calculate all kinds of statistics from your (local) Emby server. Just install this on your server and let him calculate all kinds of fun stuff. This project is still in Alpha fase, but feel free to test it on your computer. Packages Supported platforms as the moment are: Windows x64 (IIS and Kestrel) Windows x86 (IIS and Kestrel) Docker https://hub.docker.com/r/uping/embystat/ Debian package I will try to support as many platforms as possible. More and more will come in the future! If you have knowledge about building Unix packages please feel free to contact me so I can support as many platforms as possible. Feature request If you have some crazy idea you want to see implemented in EmbyStat you can create a feature request here => https://embystat.featureupvote.com/ Or just go and upvote your favorite features so I have a better idea about what I should build next. Installation Guides Go to https://github.com/mregni/EmbyStat/releases and grab the latest release. The packages are selfcontained so you don't need to install dotnet runtime on your host. Run the server (Kestrel on Windows example) Embystat.exe --port <port> Passing a port is optional, default port is 6555 To host it in a Docker container you can use the following command docker run -p <port>:6555 -v <hostpath>:/app/config uping/embystat:beta Translations Translations are managed with the Crowdin web service. Feel free to help me translate the application in your own language here: https://crowdin.com/project/embystat. If your language is not listed just create a new feature request or ping me. Technology This project is build from scratch with the following technologies: .NET CORE 2.2 LiteDB SignalR NLog Angular 5 Rollbar Roadmap A lot of things need to be done before I can go life with this and publish my first 1.0 release. This will happen when all features from the Emby statistics plugin are implemented in EmbyStat.1 point

What about adding new option to link calibre to emby as the plugin to link emby to kodi so we can have all our books ready to download via interface of emby .If we want, we can link the calibre libraries to emby, so we can use all the abilities of calibre of conversion and cover fetching etc then display the resultant libraries in emby I think this can be added by one of three ways: 1-Connect to calibre content server 2-use the db file found in every calibre library and read it to present the book without interfacing with calibre at all but using ready made libraries directly 3-parse the opf files of books to create the database of books of Emby1 point

Please read this post first. I was wondering if it would be possible to add something that would allow you to skip the intro to shows automatically while binge watching. When watching Netflix it does this for some shows, and im not sure if thats a feature of Netflix itself or a Chrome extension i use called "Flix Assist" but it would be a nice feature to have within Emby as well. and possibly even create a custom timed skip for specific shows1 point

Is there any update on this? I have the same problem. Playing h265 content on my Android phone (Xiaomi mi 9t pro) AND Chromecast ultra are extremely choppy to the point of being unwatchable. The audio plays fine. This only happens when the stream is direct stream and the file is not being transcoded. When transcoding is done, it's fine. The problem is I can't force the transcoding. It looks like it's random. I The nerd stats looks fine and the bit rate is really low. I have proper network at home that can get more than 500mps wireless. @Happy2Play please move my posting to a new topic, and add my other two duplicate postings from tonight. Thanks.1 point

I'm not sure if this is a duplicate but 1 feature that would be cool is the ability to toggle on or off a movies trailer playing while reading the movie description. I guess that's similar to Netflix & was probably requested already. Thanks Dom1 point

Hi I would like to be able to filter by channel the list of movies or tv shows within the programmes section of Emby. Currently you can only filter by genre, if there was another dropdown below to select a channel and limit the results of the page to that channel. So if for instance if I would like to see all movies coming up on BBC One HD, I could select that channel in the drop down and Emby would filter out all the other channels like SD content. Theoretically you could combine both to search on a specific channel for a specific genre. Thank you for your time.1 point

I had no issue getting to login page in Edge (Version 87.0.664.75 (Official build) (64-bit)). FYI may want to remove current or sanitize logs before posting. You can always pm logs upon request also. There was a 3-5 second delay redirecting from */web/index.html to */web/index.html#!/ Googling "result_code killed_bad message" seems to be a common issue but seems odd Edge and Chrome are acting differently unless different versions.1 point

Sorry didn't actually check Chrome as I was using the New Edge browser based off Chrome. From my understanding no it would have to be scripted to change colors at said value/position.1 point

I would do it this way div.sliderBubble {background: transparent; color: green;}1 point

Home screen: "Hide watched content from latest media" I love this option! Some other media servers decided this was illogical, but I think it is wonderful. Thank you!1 point

You can always download SRT into your movies outside of Emby. They have this ability. Why is it so integral Emby name them without such 3-letter languages attached? You can have any other program obtain your subtitles for your collection of material and it will name them whatever it wants. Emby then has to just "deal with it" as you so desire. You are free to choose how to entertain yourself. Thank you for choosing Emby. But realize that in your choice there are certain advantages to premiere. There are access to all the applications without restriction. Otherwise certain applications require single one-time payments to insure that you are getting that advantage. Your funding helps features, bugs, and everything else you expect in the future. If everything were free there would not be an Emby. A certain part of Emby must be premiere or unlocked to insure we can all have Emby exist into the future. It is not necessary for Emby to break existing functionality to choose languages for subtitles just to solve this issue. The simple answer is have any other media program curate that one detail for you. This allows you to continue using DLNA and continue to enjoy the benefits that come with using the free applications. When you want more you can look into Premiere or the One-Time payments to unlock an application. But until then you are free to choose. We appreciate you stopping by. Please do not feel alienated or in some way lesser because you choose to be free. It is just that certain things are only obtainable by helping us. We hope you understand.1 point

Also note local firewall was also blocking emby for some reason (hadn't blocked previously). Thanks again to @cayars1 point

If you open the detail screen e.g. of a. of a movie or show the client would play the theme song in the background or will show you a theme video instead of the wallpaper. If you’ve a premium account and have theme files you can experience that mentioned behaviour in the web app.1 point

Everything up there looks fine. Except for the fact that the player likely cannot consume the TrueHD and this would cause ffmpeg to invoke. It will use HLS. Maybe this is all something in the header that is incorrect? If you run that thru MKClean, or MKVToolNix GUI and just remux all streams into a new MKV would that solve the problem? The header does contain attributes that the player uses to determine how to compose those streams. If any of those bits are off this can cause the problem with higher bitrates since it can induce more cpu cycles when you change the header. That might be all this and I've seen it quite often when certain encoding programs produce files that go off the rails at high bitrate fast complexity scenes and fixing the header and rebuilding it solved it. Try that and let us know if that is all this is. That is the simplest first step to take.1 point

Hi guys, I actually open-sourced the code for a graduation project where the goal was exactly to detect recaps, previews and opening&closing credits. You can check it out here: https://github.com/nielstenboom/recurring-content-detector I figured maybe it can be of use! Would have to port it somehow, as it is python based. Cheers!1 point

Awesome thanks.. Been using the next gen addon for a week now no issues Very smooth initiation of playback from media library or from home screen widgets (which the old version struggled with). Play random addon works too. All good so far Thanks1 point

I live in China and it seems to be due to Great Firewall. I just enabled trojan (something like shadowsocks/VPN) and downloaded again and this time it is successful.1 point

Since it took me a while to troubleshoot things, I wanted to post the final solution for others. I'll be brief: Turned out that Emby was unable to connect to outside servers to get metadata information because it was relying solely on IPv6 outbound connections. Thus, the rule I was missing was the IPv6 address of the NAS where Emby was located--I had to allow all outbound IPv6 connections. This is interesting because all my other apps, Plex, and the Linux system itself did not have this issue and were using the IPv4 LAN addresses for outbound connections without issues. But Emby needs an explicit outbound IPv6 rule to work. I don't know if this is something that can be changed in the app itself, but could be useful to alert the program engineers. RE: issue where Synology NAS shows Emby app as not running. The solution is to go into Emby, shut it down, and then start the Emby app from within Synology. This resets it to the correct "Open" status I had continuous issues with movie posters/thumbnails not loading even after I had unblocked the connections. The only thing that ended up working was to remove the entire Library from Emby and add it again. Refresh metadata and Scan Library did not work, even though I tried multiple times. As soon as I recreated the library in Emby, the whole thing loaded in probably 30 seconds with almost everything identified correctly @kaj: Synology firewall rules are indeed sequential. The highest priority rules go at the beginning. The Drop All rule must go at the very end, otherwise it will block all the rules that come after it. Had my rules been really blocked, I wouldn't be able to access the internet. Now I have to figure out how to make a secure remote connection to Emby using my Let's Encrypt certificate in Synology NAS. From what I've seen so far, it seems the easiest solution is a Reverse Proxy setting. Of course, it's only easy if it works out from the first try, which has not been the case so far with the other configurations...1 point

Correct, if it is not supported by the TV then we cannot make the TV support it. The server can only convert media to something that the TV does support. Maybe LG will add support in a future firmware update if the TV has enough capability to support it.1 point

Just curious but if you know the screen save won't kick in then why not exit instead of pause and you'll get your screen saver.1 point

To me a long time video enthusiast I see HTPCs as a dying breed for sure. It used to be back in the day this was really the only way to view video so you had no choice with dealing with an HTPCl, all the drives, OS, IR receivers and blaster, and all the software issues that came with them. Most people were constantly tinkering with them and unless you were dedicated or an advanced user it was a major chore. Then people started moving to video extenders and then WD devices and things like the Boxee Box which at the time was a breeze to use compared to a HTPC. Then we got a 3rd wave of devices such as the Rokus and similar which made local and remote media very easy to consume and didn't require a doctorate to keep running. Now with 4th and 5th generation devices like Shields the need for an HTPC is all but not needed for most people. Of course some people will always want an HTPC but THEY are the dying breed of user.1 point

I tried it and it's an older version than I have also it didn't solve any. Latest test on my side was done on Emby Server: 4.5.3.0 (latest stable) - Client: Xiaomi mi 9t pro with latest stable (Android 10) and latest Android Emby beta 3.1.69. I will send you a link that demonstrates the issue. If this is not being solved in near future I have to look for alternatieves as my complete h265 library is now useless1 point
