-= PLEASE UP VOTE & PROMOTE THIS REQUEST IF YOU WOULD LIKE THIS FEATURE =- DO THIS BY CLICKING THE "LIKE" BUTTON ON THIS POST REQUEST: Properly pool multiple M3u IPTV sources, so when adding more than one with the exact same M3u emby treats them as one source with however many "Concurrent Streams" you set for each. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/63725-multiple-iptv-tuners-double-channels/?p=636718 https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/59607-duplicate-channels-one-tuner/?p=607031 https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/57420-multiple-identical-m3u-tuners-without-duplicate-channels/?p=560949 Basically once M3u #1 has used all 5 of its tuners, I then need to start using the login info that is within M3u #2... once those 5 tuners are used (now all 10 tuners), then emby issues "no tuners available". This is how emby treats HDhomeruns today, so it can't be to difficult. @@snodrog742 @@manolodf @@robrhedrick @@cayars1 point

It could rotate or something, like in the theater Of coarse it would have to be able to be turned off I suppose for people who don't like the idea.1 point

Would it be possible to add an option to hide the Songs section on Artist pages, or change the section order so I can have it appear below Albums, Appears On, and More Like This? Thanks for considering.1 point

I think I’ve reported this before. It’s fine when you start from the beginning or resume, but starting from a chapter mark doesn’t honour the audio track selection from the dropdown on the items page, it uses the last played audio track or the default track it there has been no previous playback. I can’t recall, but I suspect the same is also true of subs. I also suspect that this is common to all the theatre based apps1 point

Nostalgia. The good 'ol VCD and SVCD days. When 55 minutes was about what you could get on a disc. There was a good reason for doing this as it made spanning media onto spindles of CD's very convenient. But in the era of hard drives and solid state drives using them is like using a horse and buggy to get to and from the market. There is not much use in keeping them separate anymore unless you are still burning these onto CD-R and watching them on your DVD player from the bygone era. The gain in merge them is chapters, full resume points, ability to see the full runtime, and easily access versions. None of these work correctly with spanned media any longer. Times are changing. You need to change with them.1 point

Look up mkvmerge. Yes but you will limit your functionality doing it that way (things like chapters and resuming, etc.) and there is really no good reason to keep them as separate files.1 point

Hi. The metadata providers do not consider these items two different things. They are only split apart due to technical limitations of the physical media they were originally delivered on. The best approach it to combine the two of them into one file and then have it be one movie as seen in the theater. If, instead, you do want them to look like separate films, then you can set them up that way and just edit the metadata (titles, posters, whatever) so that they appear differently.1 point

@cayars Thanks for the reply. I agree that Direct Playing should always be a top priority whenever possible (if it fits the requested parameters), HOWEVER when you specify in the app/client that you want a specific Internet Video Quality, Emby should provide you with what you specify. For example, when tuning a station from my HDHR, it is sending out a MPEGTS stream (when direct playing) @ ~12-15Mbps. Some people just don't have that kind of speed sometimes in a specific area (maybe rural, maybe in a subway, maybe at the zoo, maybe at the Casino, etc, etc OR their provider throttles (very often!) the streaming data to maybe 2 or 3 or 5 or 10Mb max, or maybe they simply are on a paid per MB data plan and don't want to chew up that much data. I set my mobile quality to 3Mb so whether or not someone else is tuned into that channel direct playing at that time, I want Emby to stream it out @ 3Mb as requested, not at the 12-15Mbps data rate that is required for Direct Play, for a multitude of reasons. If it can transcode to the data rate I request while not using an additional tuner, great. If an additional tuner is required to get the job done then so be it, I have several available and want them used up if needed. I typically always want the highest quality and the ability/option to Direct Play, but NOT in this circumstance.1 point

I think those folders are only used with Emby for Android app because I can see those folders and files. As CBers mentioned for ATV just use the menu within the app1 point

The way I read his post is that for $5.99 you get content from Hulu (with ads) but for $4.99 you get no content with Emby, so that is what he thinks "we overlook". But that is the appeal of Emby. You don't get crappy content but only the content you want to add to your own server. YOUR MEDIA, YOUR WAY!1 point

There is also a "Bandwidth Saver" on the Roku. Press Home twice on your Roku remote. Look under Settings > Network > Bandwidth Saver and turn it ON. This will exit and forcibly terminate any application streaming (and kill the streams and yes it works with Emby transcoding) if the remote has not been used in 4 hours. This is a Roku setting so will work on all your Roku apps. We also have the setting within Emby on Roku which will end streams after 5 hours. Some sports games run longer than 4 hours so we chose 5 hours. Using both of these should solve your problem. If the Roku fails to terminate the stream after 4 hours then Emby will stop the stream at 5 hours. A backup plan if you will. That should stop that nonsense because Emby will see the Roku stop streaming and clean up one minute after that point. Note: Roku has officially banned any application sending any keypress from within the application to itself. This was done to prevent applications from breaking the Bandwidth Saver functionality. Emby is fully compliant with this new Roku change.1 point

Yes, that's one of the first things that came to mind. So, I visited a dozen or so "other" channels to see if it would replace them and it just won't go away. So, whenever I'm trying to watch something with my family I scroll away from that section like it's an Olympic Sport.1 point

Not being able to seek is not supporting it fully in my view. That also means you cannot resume.1 point

Yea, it's a great tool, but has a "special" UI that takes a bit of getting used to. You're right these forums are so friendly and helpful. You can find the answer to almost anything video related here is some form.1 point

He's just setting us up for the shock of the incoherent tirade that will occur when his tolerance limit is reached. He is holding a tight leash on his emotions and when the dam bursts the torrent of invective laced stream of consciousness that will be unleashed will be beyond imagination. BTW: I know I mixed my metaphors but I don't care.1 point

Well, Roku is back to being a complete package for my streaming habits. That was a tough 7 months or whatever of me thinking about buying an Amazon stick thing but instead just tolerating the PCM stereo my old Chromecast pumped out for HBOMax... https://variety.com/2020/digital/news/hbo-max-launch-roku-warnermedia-1234864416/1 point

To gauge interest... What if you had the ability to "Forget" a series for the purposes of Next Up display. That is, it would no longer show in Next Up - unless you watched another episode. Sometimes you maybe watch a series for a while and, even though there is more of it or more is made later, maybe it isn't as good as the earlier seasons or maybe you just don't have time for it anymore. So you'd like it to quit showing up in your Next Up list so it is less cluttered and you can focus on the series you are actually watching now. If you start watching it again, the "forget" would be forgotten and it would start to show up in Next Up again.1 point
