  1. It's a defect in the database query causing too many results to come back and get queued up.

  6. I am switching over from a Win7 box running MBC to Chromecast dongles. With the Win7 box I had a HDMI to Cat6 setup that allowed me to stream to up to 4 displays/TVs simultaneously. It was great while it lasted, but involved stapling cables to the ceiling to run it from room to room - plus it has borked Can there be an option to multi-cast to several receivers at once? i.e. simultaneously play to Chromecast dongles in my office and living room and kitchen simultaneously so i can walk from room to room without stopping and restarting the movie or show all the time? I realize that bandwidth could POTENTIALLY be an issue, but i have a fill gigabit network and a multi-port NAS so that really is the least of my worries... Thank you!

  7. ... as I was tired of manually grouping all my movie versions into groups after each recreation of the db, I created a plugin to help with that. The use case is having movies, that belong together spread around and not being able to easily match the emby naming conventions, but still having the desire to present them as one item with multiple versions. The plugin works similar to the auto boxsets, but does the "movie versions grouping" - it will group all movies based on their TMDB id into one item, regardless of where they're placed and how they're named. I made that for myself - however, if anybody is interested, attached is a plugin that solves this issue. Attached version is for current 3.6.0.49 beta Server, do NOT use it with stable release! Plugin is alpha state, you should only use it, if you are willing to backup your db (there is no way to revert the changes otherwise!) and manually put the dll in the server plugin directory. Do not use it in your production environment before having tested in a test environment that you're fine with what it does - seriously! ;-). Note: There is a known bug in the web GUI presentation which is described here, which needs to be fixed on emby side. Edit: the mentioned display bug in BoxSets is fixed in Emby now, thanks Luke. Updates by community members: v.1.0.0.4 New update thanks to @Cheesegeezer Looks like we've managed to update the plugin, to be current Emby Server 4.7.7 (minimum). Some Changes to be aware of Automatic Library scan and updates are disabled, too many things are triggering library scans at the moment and entering into an endless loop which will crash the server. Moved to a Scheduled task now. Fully Locked item Metadata can be ignored in the Plugin Settings for grouping. (Partial field may have worked before but you need to Lock the item itself now) ".strm" files are ignored from any processing New plugin Graphics with a big nod to MikePlanet This is always Mikes plugin and the work he has done is fantastic. - We only did essential maintenance to keep this alive for you peeps. AutoCollections_1.0.0.4.zip v1.0.0.5 Removed Top Pick Items from the available item list re introduced the auto scanning... this will take place 1 min after an item event is detected re introduced auto run after a library scan tested against top pick plugin and there is no endless looping... but please test fixed the locked items bug. Good luck and let me know how the testing goes. AutoCollections.v1.0.0.5.zip v.1.0.0.9 New update thanks to @Hoptional Added option whether to Merge items across different libraries Compatible with nested folder structures, the "Top Picks", and the "New Releases" plugin Improved logging AutoCollections_1.0.0.9-libraryoption.dll

  8. Now that MKVMaker is is able to get a playable DV layer when ripping a UHD, It'd be great if we could get an overlay that would indicate either HDR or DV. (would at least be really helpful for me to quickly figure out which movies I need to rerip to get a working DV MKV.) Any chance of this happening in the future?

  9. I would like be able to launch an app from a shortcut from the Emby home screen. Being able to launch Steam or Spotify would be nice. It would be even better if you could assign a specific button on the remote to refocus to Emby.

  10. If you have not done any metadata/image customization (not saved with media), then yes letting Emby do its thing is the best bet.

  11. Ah, that's not a bad idea, at least to cope with that part. Thanks!

  14. Hi, in future, in Emby Server 4.6, this won't happen anymore because Emby won't care about the album folder name.

  18. It's really great the way the theme audio continues when navigating through info on a movie or series and fades when leaving. It would be great if the audio of video backdrops faded out also when leaving.

  22. Ah, I see. Well, between that and mastrmind11's suggestion, I have "fixed" the problem - I renamed the folder in question ("unwatched" to "temp"), created a new folder in the location "unwatched", then moved the content from "temp" to "unwatched", and Emby can now see it. Interestingly, I did find two subfolders that had incorrect ownership - "root:root" instead of "<user>:<user>", but a quick check (chowned a subfolder to root:root and re-scanned) showed that wouldn't have been the problem. So, overall problem fixed, but no idea what the root cause was. Thanks, everyone.

  23. Stream #0:1(eng): Audio: aac (LC) (mp4a / 0x6134706D), 48000 Hz, 5.1, fltp, 384 kb/s (default) The Roku will not keep surround with AAC 5.1. To keep surround sound we must transcode to AC3 Dolby. If you want this to direct play you must go to to Settings >> Playback >> Convert Multi-channel AAC and set this option in the app to NO. Once you have done this it will no longer transcode AAC 5.1 but play it in AAC 2.0. To get to settings go to the COG at the top of the screen. You can also press * on some screens to get to settings. Let us know if this solves the problem. Happy Holidays. Secondary Audio means when you choose other than the first track. Older Roku units such as Roku 3 do not support Secondary Audio. If the AAC track is a secondary track it will need to use ffmpeg and HLS to repackage to get the other tracks available.

  25. Thanks. I finally figured it out, and I didn't even think to check to logs until you mentioned it. So the issue was that Emby needs to take ownership of the pfx file. Didn't figure that out until someone said. So, the process is as follows for anyone that needs a solution: -> Open port 80 and 443 Generate standalone certificate -> #certbot -certonly --standalone -d my.ddns.net Create a PFX file -> #openssl pkcs12 -export -out certificate.pfx -inkey privkey.pem -in cert.pem -certfile chain.pem -passout pass: Change file ownership to emby -> #chown -R emby:emby certificate.pfx NOTES: There are apparently other ways to automate the generation of certificates, I just haven't had time to explore these options

  26. Since I expect most people with lots of playlists will object to horizontal scrolling here, I would, instead, suggest three tabs inside the "Playlists" library - All, Audio, Video.
