I found the best iteration trick and it finds the intro for every single episode intro in a series. (I know, it's quite the statement to make) it might sound confusing... If you iterate through a season of episodes, in one direction, and comparisons aren't found (using a comparing episode), you can keep increment the comparing episode (stopping the main flow of iteration on episode to compare) until you find a match. Once that match is found, you can iterate back through the season using the episode which found the matching intro data, and that episode will almost certainly find the intro for most of the rest of the season. If it matches a good portion of the season, but not all of it, then increment the comparing episode again, and try the leftover un-matched episodes. This way every single episode gets an intros match if it has one. If there is absolutely no matching found, then we can say with a really high certainty that the episode has no intro. It takes a bit of time sure, each scan could take a couple seconds (if only clipping an episode to compare), and will take a couple more seconds if clipping a new comparing episode. However, If there was an episode fingerprinted for the season which didn't compare last time, but it's ID comes up again, no need for encoding to be done. Once the episode has been finger printed, you don't have to do it again. makes it fast. I've scanned my entire TV library 1.5 times today for testing (it's taken quite a while initially). over 3000 dvr'd episodes has taken hours... but it's a one time scan. Lastly, I think the plugin does need a configuration interface. There needs to be a sorted list of intros and a delete button beside each entry. If the intro is removed, it would be scanned again later.

Gentlemen! Today I had a fantastic idea (It's my first, don't judge). As I mentioned previously, the only issue I had with the Supermicro was getting enough air through the drives to cool them. So.... I am going to make a quickly attachable/detachable front mounted fan wall with one of the front Norco bezels that I don't use. Behold! (Just a mockup) It even has a dust filter Combined with the fans behind the backplane, I'll have a push pull thingy, and hopefully provide enough air flow

I'm like @cayars I do this as part of the pre processing before the media gets added as I add a 2 channel stereo mixed and normalized aac soundtrack as the default. That way it not only direct plays on all TV's but the centre dialogue channel is at a decent level. It means adding a soundtrack however, so not realtime ..

You can manually back up your collections (small files and folder) if you like and they would be on Windows typically: C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\data\collections Switch the username above as needed. Using tags and the SmartPlaylists Plugin would be a great way to go about this as well!

Hey, Cayars, I *rarely* use Wi-Fi other than in my home. What I meant was I'd see how Emby performed over the data line out in the wilds, like McDonald's parking lot, where I usually watch 20 minutes of something during lunch. And it worked fine today, and is still working much more quickly inside the home, too, so whatever loopback switch I affected yesterday on my router, that was the ticket!

Maybe it would be better to present absolute time server-wise then, regardless of actual time on any machine? Just how much time elapsed on SERVER since last occurence?

I've finished Ukrainian translation of the 'Web App' and 'All Apps'. Now need apps with applied translation to fix many unclear moments. BTW I'm a professional translator and worked with dozens of translation tools and CAT systems. OneSky is the worst tool. Think about migration to the Transifex at least or try to implement import/export possibility.

Greetings, Well, although I have been in IT for 30 years, I'm still a little hazy when it comes to all the domain setup and router stuff, but I did go in to my Linksys router and flip a switch related to "loopback", and things seem to be working *much* more quickly on Emby Android on my phone here at home under the Wi-Fi. So the real test will be when I am out today sitting in the McDonalds parking lot for lunch, we'll see if Emby still plays out there... Thanks for all the responses!

I had the same thing happen awhile back, but I also lost the ability to refresh Live TV Guide Data. For me what the problem turned out to be, and I have absolutely no idea why, but it was with my Linksys Router firmware, and after replacing the Linksys firmware with DD-WRT firmware, everything began working fine again. Again, I have no reason for why, and after I got it working again I did try going back to the Linksys firmware, but once again the ability to update metadata and guide data stopped working. If it helps at all steps I took in isolating the problem to the router firmware was to connect my Linux Emby Server directly to my Modem, and then updating metadata and refreshing the guide worked fine. I also found that trying to ping imdb with the router in the loop would fail, but pinging it when connected directly to the modem worked.

You would have thought by now the sound engineers would have figured this out and made an adjusted 5.1 audio track for release on disc, streaming, or cable networks......but Hollywood lives in a bubble. Sometimes the sound is so bad I simply run the CCs so I don't have to keep rewinding trying to figure out what someone said. Sound engineers don't know how to master music anymore either.....then again there isn't much these days one could consider music. We're doomed.

Hi, I use emby through the xbox app and one the things I found annoying and makes the app rather useless to the rest of my family is that you must first login into an xbox account to access thevemby app. Surely the emby app can sit aside from the xbox login just like many other apps.. eg Netflix. Having this feature would instantly make it more accessible. Cheers

I have same issue here on my UE55JU7005 from 2015. Can't browse or start any media. Not even exit the app normally. Using v4.5.0.2 on my windows machine. Emby for Tizen is the one was uploaded 20 November, can't find version number. I have tried a couple of things but with no success:

Luke, any update on this? Seems like this is a highly requested feature in multiple threads and this has been the official response for two and half years? Even where the community has provided several suggestions how this could be implemented, there seems to be no traction or hope to get this issue resolved. Large series like seinfeld for example have over a hundred extras/bloopers/behind the scenes that are not even visible in emby from anything other than a tedious, community provided work-around. The items are probably playing at reduced quality and things like seeking may or may not work. Definitely look into what Luke pointed to above.
