Once we encode two episodes for a series, and we are successful, we only have to encode the next episode of the series. That'll cut down on time. If the second attempt to compare episodes fails, then we have to encode two more, but, so far I haven't run into many issues with pin pointing intros, and getting the proper data. The margin of error is very, very low.2 points

Hello, I am having trouble with the scrolling function in Theater on TV display mode. When on the guide in Theater I have a channel or show highlighted in green I hit page down it will go down a page but that is it, it will not keep scrolling, same with page up. When I press page up it will go 1 page up, when I hit page down it will skip where the green highlight is, essentially going 2 pages down. I have found when hitting the end key and clicking in an empty area it starts working as it should until I hit an arrow key to put the green highlighted area where I want. Now when I switch it to desktop display mode, I highlight a show or channel and hit the page down key it will go 1 page in either direction and not do anything else until I hit an arrow key, it returns to where it was.1 point

Hi, I used to use a Humax DVR which can "Detect" the start and end of the program, which is great when programs are delayed, it still starts the recording at the actual start of the program and ends similarly. In Emby I have to provide "Guard" times for the start and end of the recordings, and you therefore have to choose times which hopefully capture any delayed programs without recording loads of extra video you don't want. I believe that the "Start of the program" is somehow marked as part of the broadcast, but don't know the details. I would presume if it is supported by Humax then it must be part of the standard DVB-T2 broadcast in the UK at least. I am using a HD Home Run Connect Quatro, and I am not sure whether this would provide access to the markers even if it is part of the standard broadcast. Is this possible and if so could this go on the "Feature Request" list?1 point

That's not really a possibility, it would require something quite ugly to drop the bracket down so that the bracket had enough space to mount the other way around with the beam above the mount instead of below. I have to get these changes, signed off, sealed and rubber stamped by the wife!1 point

gorilla tape works great for stuff like this, and (fun fact) the logo looks the same upside down or right side up1 point

Then you might enable Use External Player in Emby, install MX Player and swap channels there, as you can Reverse stereo there. That should give you the result you're looking for.1 point

Thanks. I've stopped using my Shield TV in favor of the chromecast for Dolby Vision and better SW, but this may a reason to go back. Unfortunately I do not have any means of running ethernet to my server due to proximity.1 point

but you could just press the next button in your shuffle queue or fast forward right to the end of the movie. you don't need to play the whole thing1 point

We haven't implemented it yet for those platforms but we'll get there. Thanks for reporting.1 point

I'm feeling like a storinator is in my future. I'd forgotten about those....damn it! It's perfect for what I want. Lots of storage, and quiet. A little expensive, but I think in the end it'll be worth it. https://www.45drives.com/products/storage/1 point

@crusher11 Amen to that. Tip of the hat. Salient as it may be...some people expect...everything for free. To teach a man an items worth the cost implied must come from purse.1 point

Ok It is alpha 3 not 2 as I said. disabled kodi log, but that do not help. I wait for beta version and then report back1 point

Hi i am not at home at the moment. When I arrive I try to disable kodi log and report back thank you1 point

Delaying a second or 2 wouldn't be noticeable. Particularly for those that use a ramp on the light level change. Worth a try I'd say.1 point

Preserving playback speed from one item to the next, similar to what happens with the playback bitrate setting, would be a nice update. +1 for that idea.1 point

I mean, I've purchased legal copies of all 966 movies on my server and taken the time to name them properly so yeah, when people want to just torrent things and throw a fit because the naming doesn't work perfectly that's kind of an issue.1 point

Having recently installed the JF server, the Android mobile app and the Android TV app, I have to say, they are not a patch on the current official Emby versions. They are functional, but Emby has so much more finesse and class.1 point

Enable MPV player in playback options. Remember to restart the app.1 point

I just wanted to give some feedback, Emby using IPTV, I held a viewing party this evening, 17 streams from one input stream. Emby did really well, though not the most streams my emby server has seen, it might be my most stream share streams.. Mixed clients, some transcoding (GPU Usage graph) some not. Zero glitches. I didn't let family and friends down tonight lol... Hope we do not loose stream sharing in the new emby LiveTv world... very handy...1 point

I'm not sure if this is even a thing anymore since hardly anyone uses FAT anymore but that sounds like crosslinked files. Yes, the file structure looks fine but the content within a file is now jumbled. I had this happen on a music hard drive many years ago. I'm no expert but it happened to me after a defragmentation of the drive so I never ran that again. Yes, the file structure looks fine but the content within a file is now from more than one file. If the same types of files are crossed. like media files, then they play fine but all of a sudden you have a different song or video. If you know the files that play this way please try playing them in a stand alone video player like VLC or POT or WMP and report back.1 point

Hi. Make sure that the IP address shown on your server dashboard is correct. If it isn't, please use the settings to correct it and see if that clears this up. BTW - the message says it timed out, not that it was an invalid password.1 point

Hey guys, didn't you get the news? We are stopping development of the channel groups feature. He doesn't need it anymore...1 point

Hi. We are not an "IPTV app" and do not try to position ourselves that way. One of the many features of Emby Premiere is access to Live TV and one source of that is via an m3u. We are working on improvements to that experience right now. Thanks.1 point
