  1. Its just splunk... The actual test is dslreports they are one of the few that can do multipath tests above 1gbps, then splunk just grabs the test results every night and puts it in a database that splunk draws from...

  2. Well, actually, if I was prepared to pay privately for treatment, I could fit 4 times as much down my pipe, without them (un)fortunately making it any bigger, but its a bit expensive so I'll just have to make do with the equipment that I have been provided with... ...but 4000down/4000up is tempting. Are you should be putting pictures like that on a family forum ?

  3. Well, I was doing good until this mornings test run....... But my pipe is tiny too..... Uh, internet pipe that is... I Better correct that now before this post goes south....

  5. Gotify Notifications Plugin Gotify notifications for your Emby server. Current version: 2.0.0.0 Last updated: 2024-02-02 Certified working on Emby Server 4.8.1.0 ## Links Plugin: Download Source: View ## Fresh Installation For Emby Server 4.8.0.0 and above: Download the latest v2 of the DLL file on the release page of this repo Put it in the "plugins" folder of your Emby Server and restart Emby Server The plugin should now show up in your Emby Server management page under Advanced > Plugins Configure the plugin by heading to the new Notification section under User settings Click the "+ Add Notification" button and choose "Gotify" The rest is self-explanatory For Emby Server versions older than 4.8.0.0: Download the v1.0.0.0 of the DLL file on the release page of this repo Put it in the "plugins" folder of your Emby Server and restart Emby Server The plugin should now show up in your Emby Server management page under Advanced > Plugins Select the plugin and it will take you to its configuration page ## Upgrading If you are upgrading Emby Server to 4.8+ from 4.7 or below, after the upgrade: Head to the plugin section in your Emby Server management page Uninstall your current Gotify plugin by right-clicking it and choosing "Uninstall" Stop your Emby Server Go to your Emby server plugin folder and double-check "MediaBrowser.Plugins.GotifyNotifications.dll" is not present, if yes, delete it Inside the plugin folder, go to its "configurations" sub-folder and delete "MediaBrowser.Plugins.GotifyNotifications.xml" Follow instructions under "Fresh Installation" above for Emby Server 4.8.0.0 and above ## Future Updates I'm going to be honest here: I have no idea how to code in C# specifically. So this plugin totally relies on the development of the Pushover plugin (see credits below). In the event of an Emby Server update breaking the plugin, I will do my best to try and fix it and will release an update on the Github repo. ## Credits This is a shameful slight mod of the Pushover plugin for Emby Server written by LukePulverenti [Luke] so all thanks to him and the Emby Server team. I take no credits for this. And of course big thanks to Gotify as well.

  6. Emby Kill Streams Plugin This plugin offers a couple options to kill transcoding 4k streams, streams that have been paused for xx min (set in config), and a fun nag warning to tell users not to transcode if set. Screen shots and dll on github. https://github.com/bakes82/Emby_KillStreams https://github.com/bakes82/Emby_KillStreams/releases

  7. I sure do, that's what piping to fpcalc does, it gives us back an array of numbers like that we then do comparisons on. They aren't direct comparisons. The way I did it is it takes a sound bite of any length and then returns the beginning of that intro start. You can try my example with the mp3 as the argument against any episode of the office and it has a decently high accuracy down to the sub second. Some episodes are miscalculated but that's just a dialing in thing. I get outputs something like this when I loop my script through office episodes:

  8. I actually didn't know there was an ffmpeg flag for that, I'm using chromaprint separately which would be less efficient. You can see in the top of the file I say what needs to be installed, that includes fpcalc. I was piping it to fpcalc in my calculate functions, if it's in the binary then that wouldn't be necessary and would save some time. In the example I gave I put a clip I did myself but it would be trivial to create another function that gave it a start and length to get the fingerprint from a video file. What I made was clunky and a first pass from some info I cobbled together but could be refined to be more accurate. I imagined a menu option that asked for a start point and an end point of an episode and then a "apply skip to series/season" and it be done. Though I'm completely ignorant of how emby's code works and the best way to do this.

  9. Most CAMs are for buying. But when you get a receiver from the provider (for rent), then it has the CAM integrated. Some of those CAM cannot be bought. Probably the CableCARD situation is not as bad as some are suspecting. What has happened is that providing CableCARD access is no longer a requirement. That's all. And - unlike as in Europe - CableCARD doesn't seem to be hit by piracy, which caused the encryption system to get updated every few years. So I tend to agree that there doesn't seem to be any reason for moving away from CableCARD.

  11. what is the purpose that the cache is redone every 30 days ? the typical data is likely never change at all and very less likely in a 30day span my "old" data for example is static for now 5+ years recaching is nice and all but at big collections its a real pain
    1 point
  12. remember the files cached expire every 30 days - so you have a rolling cache update happening a lot of the time and no you cant change the cache expiry period

  13. That’s what I did in my python script I posted before. It’s probably not as good as the dark and silence detection method.

  14. This morning I rolled back several different version to no avail on my existing systems. Next I installed the portable version 4.5.2.0 installed an HDHomeRun and added 90210 DirecTV and it worked. Shut down and upgraded the system folder to 4.6.0.6 and it's still working. Gonna have to keep digging to see what's different between the systems now.

  19. I understand that such high bitrates are not common and that no effort is made to support them, but if the only problem is an arbitrary limit, this limit should not exist.

  20. You aren't very good at this, are you? And again, I have nothing to justify to you. You're just another emby user.

  21. The more I think about it, the less sure that I am that the glitch isn't in Emby, or more likely to something changed in DirecTV or Gracenote affecting Emby, and my reasoning for the doubt is that since when a adding a new Tuner source and setting DirecTV as the Guide Provider it is pulling the data, mapping the channels to the default DirecTV data and they are viewable in the front end, but then I go back to being almost positive that I have remapped a couple of new channels very recently. I'm pretty wiped myself now, but I think in the morning I might try looking at network traffic to see if I notice anything unusual when opening the mapping applet

  23. OK your dollars against my dimes. Actually that's not fare as it will cost me more to ship my dimes. LOL I know when I remoted in with Tony B. we did a rollback and it didn't help either. Same on my system but only to previous beta. I also have 10 versions or so of the system folder available so I may "rollback" to the earliest as well and test that as well. Like you, I don't think it's an Emby version issue either. It's just smart to test it to make sure it's not something a newer version changed in any config that causes the problem with a rollback. Don't want Luke fishing for something when he doesn't need to. At least this way we've tested a few things and can be pretty certain if it's version related or a data issue (or data processing issue). I'd do these tests now but I'm wiped as last night was one of the days I stayed up to help people across the pond with remote support (time zone differences) so I'd rather do some quick testing after a good nights sleep.

  24. I think I may try a portable install tomorrow of the stable version (fresh install) and see if the problem is there as well.

  25. Chinese subtitles are too small for normal viewing, I hope you can replace emby's Chinese font with the "Microsoft Yahei" font that comes with the Windows system. The following picture is the display effect of jellyfin,I have replaced the font with "Microsoft Yahei"

  26. My internet pipe is feeble sadly, maybe a pathetic half millimeter across. OTOH its made of glass and does 1000down/500up, so, you know, size isn't important...

  27. Sadly, no. I just tested a 200Mb/s video, and it transcoded. I can play it directly in mpv over the network. REMOVE THE DAMN LIMITS!

  28. Additionally, for any newly created sources the channels do show up in the front end Live TV with the default mapping data for the source provider. Previously mapped channels also show in Live TV with correct EPG data for whatever channels they had been mapped to, but are empty in the mapping applet in the back end. Also on version 4.6.0.6 I am not sure when this issue started, or if it existed in 4.6.0.5 or earlier, but I can try rolling back to an earlier version tomorrow to see if they issue remains.

  29. Hey @speechles Just setup new TV, up here the model number is just 55R635-CA (which ensures it was a 2020), but no way of seeing on the box if it’s a A/C version. However, once I got it setup the about menu confirms it’s a A model so it worked out perfectly. Just testing it out now and it’s fantastic, what a difference from my last TV. Thanks again for the help.

  32. @LukeI can confirm I have the same problem on my production and testing system with these two providers. When you add Direct TV or AT&T Universe and try to map the channels they don't show up. Version 4.6.0.6 beta

  34. But the different delivery methods do create different overhead, direct file access eliminates the man in the middle.

  35. That link I provided, explains it very well. And I agree with softworkz. You wouldn't notice a difference between 4:2:0 and 4:2:2, but I think there are many people in the world, that believe if they have more, they'll notice a difference. I expect the guy that re-encoded the video believes that.

  42. Yes and no. Yes, because the purpose to is to handle encrypted content. No, because It's an open standard (except CI+, which is an extension to the module interface) There are many different modules and encryption systems It's neither dead, nor unwanted by broadcasters Terms: CA: Conditional Access in general CAM: CA Module CI: Common Interface: The slot into which you plug a CAM (hardware-wise it's PCMCIA) CI+: Extensions to CI to enforce additional restrictions Setup: You put a CAM into a receiver/TV and your smartcard into the CAM

  47. It will because people select options without knowing what they actually do. Every device/environment has limits. Right now we've chosen reasonable ones. They can always be expanded as necessary in the future.
