  2. You know, I like the idea of having some sort of roadmap, so we can see the priority tier list of certain features. I'm sure you yourself probably have one, to help keep track of stuff. But for myself, I'd feel better knowing it's actually on the list rather than being obligated to bug you about this feature once a quarter for the foreseeable future.

  7. Request: Add a visual seeking method with progress bar using thumbnails from chapter markers or the 10 second thumbnail generator (as defined by the users server options) for skipping. Now that the >> << are remapped to next and previous items in a list there is no way to conveniently skip chapters during playback. Exiting and going back to the details page to select the next chapter is inconvenient and so is clicking skip forward 50 times at 30 seconds a pop to get to where you want to be. The ATV chapter skipping and visual seeking methods are good examples of a way to advance/reverse on the progress bar using thumbnails . Click the UP key could bring up a slider where you can select chapter images and/or the newer bif images. Then you can use the left and right arrow to scroll through the images Currently the UP and DOWN keys are both mapped to bring up the OSD, so the UP should be free for other things like a chapter skipping slider

  8. Would it be feasible to have a dialogue box that alerts you when you are about to add an item to a playlist that already exists on that playlist? Thanks.

  9. hey what I'm really missing is support for audiobooks. Simply saving the resume point for those mp3s would be absolutely enough, no need to fetch metadata etc.

  10. At present you can only set it on or off for "movies" and "episodes". It'd be good to be able to set it on a per-library basis, so I could have trailers before my actual movies, but not before, say, wrestling events.

  11. Update - as I suspected, removing the ENTIRE Music library and recreating it from scratch does not work - the old artwork is still there. (Not that this was an acceptable way to update artwork in the first place, but I tried it anyway.) Therefore, if you find even one album with bad artwork that you have to replace, just follow these eight easy steps! 1. Uninstall Emby from your server (in my case my NAS) 2. Delete the user and shared folder from your server/NAS (seriously, blow it all away. Burn it with fire.) 3. Reinstall Emby 4. Grant access to the media folders on your server/NAS for your Emby user 5. Run Emby and go through the initial login and setup steps again 6. Create all your libraries and folders 7. Wait for sync to finish (could be hours) 8. Your single album now has new artwork! Oops, you forgot a second album that has bad artwork. Go back to step 1 and repeat.

  12. Thanks, yes that did it. /var/db/emby-server/passwordreset.txt was in the emby jail shell. I know where to look next time.

  13. Depends, if Kodi can handle them natively. Alpha just forward files to Kodi without manipulation. -> Investigating....

  14. @quickmic lots of Kodi people use this method to point e.g. to the Netflix addon by putting plugin://plugin.video.netflix/... into the strm files. Or for any other remote content...
    1 point
  15. I can’t help for this specific case, because I’m using strm files only. But when I have trouble about these I’m providing a sample strm file pointing to a public file. So @quickmic just add this Link into a text file and Name it “whatever - remote.strm” https://filesamples.com/samples/video/mp4/sample_1280x720.mp4 put a “real” video file into the same folder and name it “whatever - local.ext” then you should have the same setup. edit: ah and the folder where the files are being stored has to be called “whatever” so Emby can recognize this as a multi version movie.

  16. No they haven't got external id info. If this can be improved in future versions that would be nice. Thanks.

  17. Hi ok never mind. Sorry for taking your time. I don’t know what else can I say . I see that you are not familiar with strm files, so I don’t want to make you lost your time with this. thank you again PS: maybe if you speak with @luke he can help. i am sure @angelblue can help on this , but I think she’s not available anymore.

  19. Most likely, the machine is asleep at the time you've configured. Emby Server does not wake your machine for scheduled tasks, so if you want to run it at a fixed time, it's up to you to manage that.

  20. As you can see the 2 versions show on emby server , also both versions shows on kodi but the strm do not play If I only have 1 version and that version is a strm it play just fine hope you can understand what I mean Thank you

  21. Hi, Rotate your log file from the scheduled tasks menu. Do a Library Refresh from the Library menu. After completing upload the server log. Carlo

  24. Hi! I like the auto subtitle download feature, but I do not want to use it for all shows/movies. I watch media in Hungarian language if possible, or with Hu subtitle if not. Many times the audio track is not marked as Hu, or the subtitle filename does not end with .hu, but it is still there. I understand it cannot be watched automatically if it is not marked properly, but it would be helpful if I could mark a TV show/movie to be excluded from auto subtitle search and download.

  25. setting an "exclude from auto sub dl" flag on a series/season level when adding a new series might not be that much of manual labor thanks for the workaround you mentioned. it can also work, but then again, you have to keep in mind in which library you store each series, and I am also having difficulties with transferring multiple libraries to emby helper/embuary/kodi apart from the default movies/tv shows/music, but that is a different issue.

  26. Windows 10 Professional.

  27. That could also be helpful, but then subtitle downloading should be able to be handled on a series/season level. Now if I turn off auto sub dling, I have to dl the subs for each episode manually.

  28. your cpu is Freescale™ ARM®v7 Cortex®-A9 dual-core 1.2GHz processor and its a 431 so x31 version @Luke the d/l page is confusing as it lists two package for x31 Nas's - it needs a much better description of what nas's are which - its not clear or verbose currently.

  29. Considering Google TV is basically just another skin layer on top of standard Android TV core, you surely can. As @cayars likes to say: Google is your friend. Bunch of tutorials around. Cheers

  31. SFN is showing frame rate as 24.42 fps - this is not normal. It should be either 23.976 for film (likely) or maybe 24/25. I don't think the issue has anything to do with bandwidth - as you can play the video for 100 Mbit/sec just fine (as expected) - the issue is the DTS mux is not in sync with the video - for some reason. The Denon Plays DTS (both 768/1500Kbps), DTS-TrueHD and DTS-X just fine - so I know it is not the receiver (I have a Denon in this AV range).. This comes down to the rip - have you tried a different example source ? There are many DTS sound examples on the AV Cinema sites that you could try. https://thedigitaltheater.com/dts-trailers/ You are not going to get uncompressed Audio via your Sony TV (via ARC) unless it has eARC (but DTS 5.1/7.1 (DTS-ES) should be fine), but there are zero reasons why the Roku plugged into the Denon should not be able to play everything without issues - and if it plays DD/THD ok - then this proves your physical setup is not the problem.

  35. Would it be possible to have a deinterlacing option while converting movies over? My wife likes a lot of British shows and they seem to nearly always use interlacing on anything from bbc.

  36. When Emby first creates the image for a device it takes into consideration the resolution both height and width the device has requested that image be sent. This is stored in the cache for that device on your Emby server in the /cache folder and sends the application that cached image. Once images have been cached for all items within a particular library that particular library will load substantially faster as the cache at the proper resolution has already been created and is immediately sent. Emby does not send full size resolution images to the applications since that can be wasteful in both render time (what if it sends a full size image and you want a tiny one) and bandwidth (do you have awhile to wait?) and would introduce a huge delay as these populate. Emby sends pre-cached pre-sized images at the exact resolution the app requires. This is what eventually will make your browsing effortless. Doing this allows Emby to use various sized resolutions and properly curate the bandwidth these takes to arrive at each application. All applications do not use the same sized images. They can all curate their sizes according to what is best. Without this you would be waiting substantially longer for images. Allow Emby to first create this cache and populate images. Then on the second entry compare the speed. You will be happy. Things do get better. This could be due to the version/audio/subtitle information required on detail screens. This is required to show both the version/audio/subtitle drop down selectors and the media details rows beneath which show the stream cards. It is required on the detail screen to have this playback information. Does your movie have lots of audio streams or subtitles/captions?

  37. I should have read your entire post, not just the 1st line.... I could certainly do that. Although, I'm not much for manual interventions - I like everything to just work without me micro managing... At least I now understand the syntax needed to get emby to read the files wherever they may be. I'm sure I can work on that now. Thanks

  39. @MyronAub May I suggest you download a few test files from http://jell.yfish.us/ to test the different bitrates you might be able to support? This should definitely help figure out what bitrates you can stream locally through Emby.

  40. I made a new app from scratch. It just started closed alpha testing. Currently it only supports Plex as backend, but Emby support is coming. You can see more on reddit.com/r/AbooApp

  41. But how do I tell if it has the Vewd store or not?
    1 point
  42. I worry about that myself. I read something about that also. Problem is how much work do you want to do to earn a "free" $11/year subscription? Personal opinion only here, but I think this is a mistake. If they wanted to go paid, they should have adopted a model similar to Open Subtitles where it's still free but with limits and with a contribution gets you more requests each day.

  43. Thanks for the feedback. Hopefully TVDB will realise what a silly mistake it is! Pretty crap to 'sell' user generated data. I get there are costs involved, but many users have taken time to sort images, shows etc... and get literally nothing back in return other than satisfaction for helping for the 'greater good' and then to be told well you can't use it anymore unless you pay us! Think the TVDB might die, can't imagine people submitting things to it if they can't use it themselves for free!

  44. Currently you can't because playlists are only visible to you if at least one item in the playlist is visible. It's something we'll look to improve in future updates. Thanks.
