  1. I mentioned it in another thread, but thought I'd put it here since this looks like a new section--just for posterity. Would like to have a bulk meta data editor function. For example, if I have 750 videos whose producing studio is the same, I want to select those videos and apply the name of the studio to those videos. Similarly, if there is a custom tag I want to apply to a subset of those movies, I want to be able to select them in bulk and apply the tag to those videos (instead of selecting them one by one).

  3. Request: Add a visual seeking method with progress bar using thumbnails from chapter markers or the 10 second thumbnail generator (as defined by the users server options) for skipping. Now that the >> << are remapped to next and previous items in a list there is no way to conveniently skip chapters during playback. Exiting and going back to the details page to select the next chapter is inconvenient and so is clicking skip forward 50 times at 30 seconds a pop to get to where you want to be. The ATV chapter skipping and visual seeking methods are good examples of a way to advance/reverse on the progress bar using thumbnails . Click the UP key could bring up a slider where you can select chapter images and/or the newer bif images. Then you can use the left and right arrow to scroll through the images Currently the UP and DOWN keys are both mapped to bring up the OSD, so the UP should be free for other things like a chapter skipping slider

  4. So I found out that in situation when path to the media defined in emby library is not accessible(for example emby start sooner than file server and system running emby are not abble to mount media data sources) emby delete all cached metadata. After recovering from this by mounting media sources to emby server, emby starts to download all metadatas from scratch which is insane if you have a few TB of media files. There should by a mechanism which will bound cached metada to specified library and until library or media files in it is manually deleted those data should stay on disk. You may ask why not go for saving data in own media folders. Well thats not a solution for me, because I dont want any external process to mess with my library and have write access to it.

  5. Keyword being "since". Sure, that should work wonderfully, I just still have shivers from the time I was running Shield server mid-2019. Cheers

  6. At the same time just because a set library path is not available at a specific time should not purge all of the said data for that media (offline mode). It should only be purged if the path is removed from library management.

  7. If you turn on "Transfer files over local network" you can just drag and drop it from any PC. No usb needed

  8. When watching LiveTV make sure to press Playback Correction once. That should make it more resilient to those stuck on retrieving errors. But it will come at a cost as the Emby server will employ ffmpeg to act as the man in the middle to the Live TV stream. FFmpeg will convert the video and in doing that correct any errors in the bitstream. The Roku is not tolerant at all of faults during MPEG2 decoding. The Roku MPEG2 decoder does not handle missing keyframes well at all. The video will lock up and stop rendering while audio continues. If you see this happening at that point use the playback correction button and those problems should be eliminated but keep in mind it is at the cost of Emby having to run ffmpeg over the stream to correct it.

  11. I do not think Emby will ever automatically play an already played episode. Clearly you can play a played episode if you want to but Emby will not do so automatically.

  12. We should have a documented build process for you to build it, but we just don't right now. Things have moved quickly lately and we just haven't documented it yet. I'll add it to the list.

  13. Have you enabled the notification itself? You have to go in your dashboard, and on the sidebar there should be a Notifications section which you can customize.
