  3. Hi, I would like to have an option to choose H265 instead of H264 in the Transcode option. It will be smaller for all bad bandwidth (2~5Mbit ADSL), but will have a great quality. Mobile phone can benefit of it greatly too with the 4G and the limitation of download.

  4. I would like the ability to adjust the playback speed of my videos and recordings. YouTube.com does this and i think it is a very convenient feature to have.

  5. I would love the option to store Emby's database in MySQL - I have a setup that serves around 30 people and I feel that there would be real performance gains by using a proper relational backend over SQLite (I'm presuming). On top of this it would make life easier for me when reporting on watched status a cross users.

  7. Please click "Like this" and share it if you want to support this feature. Thank you ! Hello, There is a Kodi addon call "gdrive" from ddurdle who can read videos (original and transcoding version) directly from Google Drive. Why not build on this idea to integrate Google Drive as source directly in Emby Server ? In addition, Emby could generate automatically the STRM files from one or many Drive folders. And transcodings are already available with Drive so no need to transcode with Emby server. What do you think ? ------------- Three reasons why this feature will be useful and awesome: 1. Cloud is the future and today the cost is affordable. I have a Google Drive Unlimited for $50/month (ie $600/year) and I have unlimited space that is secured against crashes. Knowing the cost of hard drive and the cost of power consumption, its a very good deal. 2. Google Drive transcode video file. This provides different stream quality like Youtube (1080p, 720p, 480p and 360p) and the "image quality/compression ratio" is very satisfying. I can play 720p video on my poor 4 Mbits DSL. 3. You don't need to have a big server. Personally, I opted for a little dedicated server (Kimsufi 2G) for the cost and I can leave it run 24/7! Furthermore, me and my friends can watch movies from anywhere! Basics features that should be included: GOOGLE APPS OAUTH2 for activation and permission playing transcoded version (MP4 360p, 480p, 720p & 1080p) directly into Emby's app playing original file (avi, mkv, mp4) directly into Emby's app import embedded subtitles porwerful script module for multiple folder scanning and STRM generating

  8. @horstepipe For the moment I keep it, but you are right. I have to use two emby server queries while sync (Movies only). Maybe I can combine the two queries. I've to check the emby-server APIs what's possible. Anyway, 6 times longer sounds a bit extreme. I'll review that.

  9. @quickmic I experiene wayy longer syncing time (initial sync, movies only) with the latest alpha build 324 on Apple TV. Will there be room for optimization or is it as it is? From what I see for now syncing my movies database will take 6 times longer (from 30 minutes to 3 hours). best regards

  14. Hmm - Hold Fire on any further investigation @chef - on an independent test, adding to the group is not allowing me to add/remove rules Let me investigate why .. edit - ok so it does work, but UAC may get in the way if using the GUI - but as presumably you are using code to do it, then you should be able to elevate the privilege using the user account instead. The below example(s) were done using a standard (non-admin) user account being a member of 'Network Configuration Operators'. The first at standard permissions, the 2nd at elevated permissions for this user (not Administrator, despite what it says ..).

  16. Thanks for the push I've put off using something like sonarr, as it seemed a little complex to setup....however, I just tried again, and though not completely intuitive, it's working!

  18. "I solved" my problem with multi versions first I installed the repo emby and then and installed e4k 5.0 it worked perfectly. I don't know if it had anything to do with having the repo or rebuilding the DB that fixed the problem

  20. Ah, you are saying the position is restricted to within the actual video...hmmm. That may be a tough one. I'll look into it.

  21. Maybe the old translation has been voted (starred) higher and that is why it replaces the new one? When I started to do the Finnish translation I voted for some old translations and later I changed them and it took a moment for me to figure out that the translation got replaced with the old one because I had voted for it (so it had + 1 vote/star vs. 0 for the new one). When I removed my vote, the new translation took priority. No one else had voted so I could remove my own vote and even things out in my case. I do not know if there is some proofreader or similar user level in OneSky so that you could select another translation regardless of how many votes it has (like in Crowdin for example)? This sounds similar to my experience so I thought I'd bring it up.

  23. A seasonal theme is totally unrelated to the function of this software, so you can readily avoid your annoyance with this frippery by disabling it. Paul

  25. lol im not concerned. this whole thread has just been people taking things personally and lashing out. they know im right ive also listed the things that need to be changed and why the "If you have good design ideas the team will listen" thing isnt actually true. so far the most basic obvious issues have been denied. i doubt more nuanced ideas would be embraced

  26. The latest version of my setup includes a Synology DiskStation ds1815+ 8-bay NAS filled with 4TB Seagate NAS drives as my storage/cloud/backup unit to store all my media. For my server, I run an i7-990X with 24GB RAM. It's a bit old, hobbled together from hand-me-down parts from my work machine, but it is still a beast of a CPU and can handle all kinds of multi-thread tasks like transcoding multiple streams. Plus, it was free as the parts were just lying around, not being used. The server is running all the usual automation, plus emby, Plex, and Ubooquity server software for delivery. I have had no problems with this setup, it is working great. There doesn't seem to be any issues that I have run into by having separate storage and server machines. If anything, it has only expanded my ability to access my files anywhere and everywhere and in many ways. To be fair, though... I really enjoy playing with and maintaining all of this hardware and software etc. If it wasn't something that I liked spending time doing, I'm sure it would be a great hassle.
