  2. So for next year (2021), can we have an option in the server to dictate how early the "seasonal themes" can start then please.

  3. oh crap sorry I forgot to add it back, I was cleaning up a bunch of stuff and removed it for a while. I will work to have it added back into the catalogue in the next day or so. Until then you can get it as a download and drop it directly into your plugins dir of the server from the GitHub page: https://github.com/faush01/playback_reporting/releases Grab the playback_reporting.zip and extract the dll into your emby server plugin dir.

  4. That people continue to put up with all this crap is beyond me. Switched to Plex over 3 years ago now.... and the forum interactions with support is not something I miss. Now let me get my popcorn....

  5. Okay, those are app specific permissions and I have that covered now. You kept saying you had globally disabled the mic on the device and I couldn't find any way to do that so wanted to be sure there wasn't something else I was missing. I already (long ago) indicated the app was just not written to handle this scenario (not using the mic when it is there) and I also said just today that I had already corrected that in the app (not yet released in beta). But that has nothing to do with your assertion that the use of your mic is what is causing Google to give you ads and other offerings related to your past searches. Just like Cayars said above, that is going to happen whether you allow Emby (or any app) access to your mic or not. That is completely unrelated to both your microphone on the device and this issue in the app.

  6. My wife wanted to watch Last Christmas yesterday. I said "No, it's too early" when I really wanted to say "How about after I die?" but didn't

  7. So based on how quickly you implement current FRs, we can expect this in time for the seasonal holidays around Halloween 2024 then

  8. and a icon to show on the series page that its been forgotten - no need for another FR - as it will be 3 and 1/2 yrs before its implemented

  9. I hope @cayars is ready for all the questions that this feature is going to raise, when someone has accidently "forgotten a series"

  12. It would be great if i could set the server to delete certain shows after a user has watched it. I happen to watch "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and "The Colbert Report", everyday, and with "News"ish type shows, there is no need to keep the episodes around. So i would like to set MB to auto delete those 2 shows, 3 days after one user has watched it.

  13. Thought there was already a topic about this, but I am unable to find the one I meant. I did find some that discuss parts of what I am going to suggest though. My personal preference would go to playlist so I will focus on that, though if it would go towards collections instead, that's also fine with me. At this moment I seem to be unable to get my playlist the way I want it, though I may be overlooking certain settings or things I am simply doing wrong. 1. Make it so playlists are account bound rather than server wide 2. Enable the admin to create a playlist that is available for everyone (server wide) simply by pressing a specific button/box within the playlist 3. Serverwide playlists should only be adjustable by admins (which items are added/removed and moving them in order) 4. A button for the playlist section in movies and series (see attached picture). Right now it is available for audio libraries, but not for movies and series libraries Personally I don't like having a clutter of playlists that have been made by other accounts showing up in my account. On top of that, all those playlists can be deleted and changed by anyone that finds them, which is also pretty bad. Some of this also applies to collections I believe? Which means people can simply delete collections made by others. More importantly making collections should be restricted to admins in my opinion, playlists can be made by anyone. And my final reason for the 4 adjustments is that I have playlists disabled as a library on my account (since I hardly ever use them and don't want the library showing up on my homepage). However this means there is no way to reach them (besides finding one of the movies/shows in the playlist). For music playlists you can simply go to the correct music/audio library and click the playlist section on top. Movies and shows however don't show in the music/audio libraries playlist section, and as shown in the picture below, there is no such section in the movie and series libraries themselves. I feel playlists and collections therefor need some improvements. This would also help with all the star wars/star trek/harry potter/MCU/DCU/etc. playlists or collections people want to create where they are in viewing order. Personally I believe a global playlist would be best, but the way the settings are right now, that could get messed up easily. Collections could also work, but would need a custom order option (or viewing order option) rather than by year (or at least I think it goes by the years).

  14. To gauge interest... What if you had the ability to "Forget" a series for the purposes of Next Up display. That is, it would no longer show in Next Up - unless you watched another episode. Sometimes you maybe watch a series for a while and, even though there is more of it or more is made later, maybe it isn't as good as the earlier seasons or maybe you just don't have time for it anymore. So you'd like it to quit showing up in your Next Up list so it is less cluttered and you can focus on the series you are actually watching now. If you start watching it again, the "forget" would be forgotten and it would start to show up in Next Up again.

  16. That's because Plex has no support to interact with. LOL It's just a misunderstanding. Riggs likely didn't see that ebr already mentioned it was fixed. I wasn't commenting at all on this issue since it was addressed already. I simply wanted to clarify about the ads and that there is no difference between typing or speaking a voice search. Nothing more.

  17. Google will take what you put on a silver platter. Sure, but your ATV app explicitly asks for permission to use the mic or it just doesn't work, I never said anything different. That's is what I'm saying here. You asked the route of the settings, and I published the screenshots to you. With the settings you saw, no application gives problems or asks for permission for the microphone, not even your Android application, only in ATV since I have known it asks for access to the microphone, and if I remember correctly that report they have already passed about 2 years. I can't understand what was not understood from the beginning. On the other hand, I am the user, and those problems have to do with privacy, yes, then if I open the mic of course Google will take what it wants and do what it wants with it. I have not said otherwise, rather I said the same.

  18. Is there any way to avoid you? When you take on the role of Mother Teresa in this forum you really suck. That doesn't help the community at all, no matter what medals you have. Jesus Christ! Really, when you don't want to fix some crap you have in your programming, you put yourself in mode: "Let's leave the user like an idiot" It is not the first time, that abounds in this forum. Grab your horses, and if you don't want anyone here to tell it like it is, then close the forum. It's amazing how you want to influence by making stupid users who point out that there is something wrong. It is not the first time that I read or see his confrontations with the community. It is not exclusively with me, but of course, then your friends from above will come to protect you from your inconsistencies. Yes, you already made me mad. Something that you still don't understand?

  22. or, and i know this is an out there idea, you could just have fixed it when it was first raised rather than constantly telling people who arent getting the fun to just enjoy the fun that everyone else is having. its only working for me now because i reinstalled emby over the summer

  24. One easy way would be to keep a template user with no watched status backed up and use the restore function to overwrite all user data for the user you want to reset. Or you could just mark each library manually.

  25. I have the microphone globally disabled in Shield privacy section. Why? In my case I am not interested in voice control of anything. Of course, in an ideal world, where there are no monopolies taking advantage of that for their own benefit it would be great to have the microphone enabled. I must confess that when the boom in voice search and control of other things in the house exploded, I was excited and even tried it until I realized what was going on behind all that wonderful technology. Summarizing: My Shield, from the moment I start it, I have not allowed it to use the location services or the microphone. If during the installation of new applications any APP asks me if allow it, I simply deny it. Even so, after having everything installed, I check the permissions of each application and deactivate some applications that are included such as the Plex server, Amazon Music and others that are useless and that I will not use and that do not affect the operating system if they are not . That said, it is clear that I do NOT have "Hello Google" enabled. What is the only application that refuses to search by typing?: Emby TV. If I want to do a search, "hello Google" appears and the APP asks me for permission to enable the microphone. I deny it, and then the APP won't let me write anything. Solution: Use Emby for Kodi for any search. (Pathetic). That doesn't happen with ANY app, but this Emby TV app forces me to use the microphone, yes or yes, to give it access to the microphone or it will never do a typed search. Of course I don't give it any. The new application for Android that you are developing does NOT present this problem for searches and the microphone, it works just like any other APP. Whatever. It is my decision whether or not to enable the microphone on my device. My decision is not to enable it on my device, I like my privacy.

  26. No mate, it just means when you provide a live TV stream emby will intelligently select an appropriate quality instead of forcing playback of the lowest quality in the stream without an ability to change the quality. You'll still need to find/provide your own IPTV streams as you need to do now.

  27. Yes as they have there own css or html styling, so all elements that are not using var(--theme-primary-color) will need changed as it is not targeted by root values.

  28. Emby is software only for setting up your own personal, not commercial streaming service for family. You can't really come here asking for help to get connected to an ILLEGALLY run service using Emby software.

  29. Regardless of how you setup Emby TV (Cable, OTA, IPTV, Sat) it allows you to watch or record TV. It can most certainly do what you want. You can setup a series to record on all channels or just a single channel. You can as shown in the picture below select "Don't record episodes that are already in my library". If you have any other questions please feel free to ask them!

  30. This is kinda cool. If you click the flag icon, a dialog will appear which shows a good satellite image of the location the reverse look up found LOL. If you try this, clear browser data after server restart. Blacklist.zip

  32. Maybe the Playback Reporting plugin and enable New Media Report. Then this report will show New media added since the last time the task was run. So change task from daily to say weekly so users will get a report of anything added in said timeframe. Still need the other services to deliver said notifications. This plugin runs its own database so it only looks at media added after its installation.

  35. Make the default setting for "repeat mode" a user select-able preference in the profile settings. Then users can set it once to "Repeat All" as the default mode. I find it tedious to have to click repeat mode every-single-time I select an album, track or playlist. Another way to get similar results would be to make the repeat mode selection "stick" from one playlist to the next. Think of it like a system wide repeat mode - turn it on and it stays on until turned off. The way it is now, I turn "Repeat All" on and it turns off the very next time a new playlist is played. Requiring the user to remember to re-select Repeat All each time a selection is made. That's why I say it is tedious. My preference for listening to music is to have music play continuously. If I get bored of the playlist I can change it but the music should play continuously because of the repeat all mode. The way emby works now, I have to select repeat all too many times (which I normally forget to do) and so the music eventually stops. Maybe I'm not the only one who would like to see this feature... Since I've left Kodi for emby as my go-to media player, this is probably my only complaint. Great job all around.

  40. I don't think you understand how this works Riggs in Emby. Nothing to worry about as it's not always listening until you intentionally press the mic button. Used this way it's not always on and listening.
