@bonbonking that's really not true at all, and you can see for yourself by looking at the commit histories on the repositories. Let's take the server repository for example: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby/graphs/contributors From some quick math, our paid staff was responsible for roughly 98% of the commits, and I am solely responsible for 95% of them alone. You'll see similar numbers in the other repositories. By the way, guess where the majority of our paid staff comes from: community members and volunteer contributors. Over the years we've rewarded and hired our community members who have shown interest, strong technical ability and initiative to get involved. So really, we are not bad people. We're just a team of software developer (and others) who are trying to earn a living.3 points

They have to be open source since that's the license they inherited with the source code. They have no choice over the matter. It of course will work ok at the server level as it's built on an older version of Emby. But Emby has improved many things from that version such is the transcoding engine, now customized version of Exo player, etc. Jellyfin has some nice things for sure but it's no V5 Emby. Around the corner is a new Live TV that will be game changing for many Live TV users. Of course those are server features. Emby has really nice apps and clients which are in a completely different level of functionality to those from Jellyfin which falls way short in this regard. Anyone using Live TV in the US, CA or UK is most likely paying for Guide Data which is included with Emby. The lifetime license of Emby for those users actually pays for itself. Some people also feel like purchasing an Emby Premiere License is a worthwhile investment and they feel it's worth compensating developers for the work they do. Emby in turn is adding people to the project to help it's customers as well. Heck we even do remote help with people. As far as the last line I quoted. My question to you is, why are you hear then? Go do your work on Jellyfin and enjoy the Emby Fruits you got for free. Maybe a thank you?2 points

Media Library Icons for Emby Updated: 07/10/2021 I've always had a thing for the simple gradient style Hulu overlays on their library images. I'm not that great at graphic design, but I can mimic some things pretty decent. I hope! It's very simple, and clean and something I've been wanting to attempt for a while. I've never done anything like this, so constructive criticism is appreciated! More color options for media libraries coming soon!!! Also included to make your icons match across the platform, are video genre, music genre and TV network icons: I've hosted this only my Google Drive, so if if the link is not working please, reach out to me and let me know and I will do what I can to resolve! The font (Kirvy), and PSD's are located in the \~TOOLS\ sub-folder Media Library Icons - DOWNLOAD HERE Feel free to create your own to fit your needs! Photoshop Template - DOWNLOAD HERE Gimp Template - DOWNLOAD HERE (ALL credit for creation of Gimp template are thanks to, Mibok, who took the time to recreate the Photoshop template in Gimp!) Many have asked for a smaller and easier version of the .PSD file to create their own custom icons. I have simplified the .PSD and it is now compatible with, Photopea.com photo editor so no need to own Photoshop to make your own icons! Download the new .PSD HERE Thanks for giving me so many hours of entertainment, this was something fun to try and give something back! (If any of the above images are not allowed, please inform me ASAP and I will correct it) *** Change Log*** 07/10/2021 Added GIMP template, created by, Mibok to allow users alternate means to create their own icons 01/25/2021 Added lighter .psd file for easier custom icons 10/04/2020 Added "Silver" Media Library Icon Set and all remaining requests and missing items in each set 08/15/2020 Added some requests and "Emerald" (green) Media Library Icons Set 07/06/2020 Added "Gold" (yellow) Media Library Icons Set 06/29/2020 Added "Wine" and "Steel" (red and blue) Media Library Icons Set 06/29/2020 Updated sample images 06/22/2020 Added "Black" Media Library Icons Set 02/27/2020 Added TV Network Icons for 49 U.S. networks 02/27/2020 Added ~MEDIA LIBRARIES sub-folder to help keep the folder organized 02/24/2020 Added Phase One of Music Genres to Google Drive 01/25/2020 Added requested images to Google Drive 12/21/2019 LITE - Hulu Style Library Icons PSD Added (Uploaded PSD with no graphics for a faster, lighter PSD option) 12/21/2019 Media Library - No Text Icons Added 12/17/2019 Generic Movie Genre Icons Added To Do: Update preview post with images Continue color sets: Black - Maroon - Navy - Emerald- Gold - Silver Update No Text Icons Downgrade PSD for compatibility for older versions of GIMP/Photoshop TV Networks - USA Optimize PSD for simplicity1 point

Hello, Perhaps I am not the first one to ask this question but it will be very cool if this feature could be implemented. I have 2 servers one at home and the other at work. ( and soon a third one...) So I have a movies library called movies on each server. I would like to see all the movies from a single 'virtual server location' when I use the app (ios or android ) where I will see only one movies library containing movies informations from the movie library at work and the movie library at home. It's an aggregation of movies informations from the movie library at work and the movie library at home. In fact when a user have multiple servers it will be perfect if another choice in the server list called "all servers" for example appears automatically with a merge of media informations from librairies with the same name on different servers.1 point

Hello, I think it would be great to have a HA option to have 2 emby server totally redundancy. What do you think about that?1 point

Please read this post first. I was wondering if it would be possible to add something that would allow you to skip the intro to shows automatically while binge watching. When watching Netflix it does this for some shows, and im not sure if thats a feature of Netflix itself or a Chrome extension i use called "Flix Assist" but it would be a nice feature to have within Emby as well. and possibly even create a custom timed skip for specific shows1 point

Have a very similar problem and was just about to post. Missing images on the Movie screen (as posted above) but if I click on the person, some of the images are already there. If I go out of the movie back to Home and back to the movie again some of the pictures show. No metadata refresh. But some of them do need a refresh. Have tried at the movie level and done a refresh at the Library level but not automatically populating.1 point

By now everyone is aware of HDR. But there are various versions of it. Here is a great article that simplifies and explains the differences. https://www.howtogeek.com/690215/hdr-formats-compared-hdr10-dolby-vision-hlg-and-technicolor/amp/ Also, the term 'fake HDR' is sometimes used. They have a great article that explains that, too. https://www.howtogeek.com/693428/what-is-fake-hdr-and-should-you-buy-hdr-blu-rays/amp/1 point

You can add to collections people as cast so it would be helpful to see ‘included in collections’ in people details screen same it is with the movies.1 point

sssh - secret handshake needed but i will be releasing some of my scripts to a wider audience in future - things are hectic at moment just moved house (not my choice) and now buying a new place - so time for things is a bit tight for a while till things settle down Sneak peak of what it does - the blue is from CSS1 point

so you say - but your focus on things is all over the map and flip flops on a regular basis you have yet to do any real significant addition to the features of Emby in 2020 and numerous bugs and issues remain that would help users have a better experience and get to use their Media their Way1 point

Yup, in Unraid (6.8.x), under vm manager, advanced settings, there is an option called "PCIe ACS override:" I had to enable it and set it to downstream. The gpu was largely isolated as an iommu group, but the pcie controller was also included. By enabling this field, it broke out the pcie controller and left just the gpu - which made emby happy. thx1 point

So far the force transcode seems to be avoiding the issue. If we can have an option to force this on the server side (even if hidden away under advanced options to avoid people who dont need/want it taking the performance hit) it would be awesome!1 point

I've come back to this plugin recently after I noticed that someone was hitting my domain repeatedly, trying to get past different user accounts. I reinstalled this plugin back on my machine, and It worked! They are blocked. unless they change their IP and try hitting it again, they will stay blocked, and to be honest, this plugin will just ban them after three missed tries anyway. This seems to be a working updated version of Blacklist plugin. The image below shows the interface, but I removed the attackers IP because, I'm pretty sure that the community consists of much better hackers then that person, and I didn't want to cause them any real issues. LOL.1 point

Funny, I was going to mention that but figured it was obvious. My bad. Glad you got it figured out!1 point

Which is fine because the web hooks users have been asking for enhancements anyway.1 point

In terms of something that would be easier for us to support, what if we had someone whip up a standalone app that can receive webhook notifications from the Emby webhooks feature, and then launch scripts of your choice depending on the notification? In other words, it would essentially act as a passthrough from webhook to command line. Then, as you need more new notifications, or more data attached to them, we simply add them to webhooks and everybody wins, both the webhooks crowd and the scripting crowd.1 point

If you look at Musicbrainz AcoustIDs enough you'll see that it is not ME that is tagging the music incorrectly but MusicBrainz that has incorrect data. That combined with utterly SLOPPY data (upper/lower case, slight variations in the artist names/song names, stray tracks on albums that don't match the album, incorrect album lengths, missing data, etc) it's not unreasonable to want nothing to do with the data from that website. Not only that, as I described, if I simply DECIDE to tag a series of tracks as being by the artist "Steve Johnson" instead of "The Furious 5 including Steve Johnson" because it puts them in the "Steven Johnson" folder so I can find them then Emby shouldn't arbitrarily decide to ignore my tagging data and put it wherever it feels like. It should obey my tagging data and put it in the proper artist folder. P.S. In the same vein, if I want to tag a song from some vinyl single or my own rip as track x on an album and delete the proper track x on that album that should also be my prerogative. The tagging should be paramount. Not the AcoustID IF it works (which it rarely does).1 point

Yes, I like roboto, but this is not where you use roboto. Roboto is for websites like blogs etc. It's a font for long articles, not for titles and GUI/UI1 point
